The Golden Nugget has been a nice environment to be at and dine. Both of my Daughter's work there at one time.
The Golden Nugget has been a nice environment to be at and dine. Both of my Daughter's work there at one time.
We stayed in the rush tower which is the nicest for sure! Brothers had a two floor suite in the spa tower which was also very nice. The pool was good but super crowded.
Great location in the middle of freemont st, large casion, many good food options, great night life
We stayed in the VIP gold tower room and were not disappointed. Beautiful room and exquisite bathroom! We got chocolates on our pillows and complimentary wine when the hotel found out we were on our honeymoon. The casino is large , modern and clean, and right on fremont street. My only suggestion is that you bring some powerful ear plugs or in ear headphones if you're staying here as the music from fremont street doesnt stop until about 2am and is LOUD. You WILL hear it from your room. The pool here is unbelievable and there is a great chocolate shop as well. Definitely worth the price (which isnt bad at all).
Hotel is vast! Plenty going on in and around the hotel and sfreets kutside. May not be on the main strip but still plenty of activity.
Great location in old downtown las vegas. The rooms are pricy in the summer. Great service
Stay every year in the rush tower and always have a great time.
Fremont is a little crowed on the weekends but for a reason. There are street performers live music people just having a good time. We literally had a group of 15 ppl all ages an posted up in one spot for over an hour before we split up. Gambling buffets fast food and drinks all just a col steps away and the Golden nugget is in the heart of it all. Hotel been remodeled. Huge fish tanks filed with large fish and sharks can be found at bars and by the pool. For gambling the have it all and compared to the strip seems the machines hit more often here. Tables aren't to crowed all day and more waitresses come around with refreshments. And if your planning on a sit down meal I recommend you go to claim jumpers and order the chicken pot pie. It won't disappoint trust me.rooms nice and comfy but it's Vegas who stays in the room all day. What I can say is if you like it cold as I do the rooms do stay chilly. Enjoy.
We have been staying at the Golden Nugget for several years now. Hands down our personal favorite. Great staff, awesome pool, and very comfortable suites. Do your self a favor and stay here. Enjoy the accommodations and the Fremont Experience after dark.
Disappointed shady folks wandering about asking for money for food
Came down here for some craps and a good time. Had a few drinks and avoided gonorrhea. I call that a winner winner chicken dinner.
Nice little small casino. Love it being part of history of the original Las Vegas strip.
Hotel rooms are comfortable and clean, staff is AMAZING!!! Wonderful location and amenities. Won t be gambling here again though. if you play tables, can t seem to get accurate rating. I spend um 5x what my husband does on the slot machines and his rating is so much better. I play craps and close to nada. Asked host center why, they tell me it s a boss/table issue. I asked them what specifically to ask from the boss and the told me to ask my rating. I did on my next table... WHAM! Table Bosses DO NOT like that question and told yeah, hosts are a problem. I immediately felt super uncomfortable and won t be gambling here anymore.
Hotel rooms are just as nice and clean as the ones on the strip, but much more affordable! The bonus is, there is always something going @ Fremont Street
A friend and I went for a girls trip to Vegas for 5 days and stayed at another hotel. We walked down to Fremont Street several times a day. We went to the Golden Nugget and we're gambling. I was sitting at the Wonder Woman machine and a man sat down beside me in the middle. About his third spin he had a bonus and it said he won 10 times pay. The payout was $35 and change, so simple math says that's over $350. It paid him about $84 I believe. And he said wow! Like he was happy. Before he pushed the button again, I said you realize that should have been over $350 right? He said it should have? I said yes! 10 * that jackpot is over $350!! It just ripped you off! I said you should call a manager and show that to them. He did so and there were two technicians there and they were replaying the payout on the screen and they could not explain it. They tried to play it off as that was all he won. He and I both explain to them 10 times that payout was over $350. They acted like we did not understand the jackpot. They called the manager over there, he replayed it, we explained what happened, the guy said I was his witness. We both said this machine just ripped him off and they needed to pay him the correct amount. I don't know what the outcome was but I hope he got his money. My friend and I left after that and did not return.
I love the pool, the rooms are good, and lots of places to eat and close to watch the attractions on freemont street.
Their were absolutely no disturbances, and its a short walk to the strip, which is gorgeous at night.
nighmare - stayed in room 6214 in rush tower jr suite. Left after two days after feeling itchy as I noticed small bites on my arms. After taking a hot shower I noticed that my upper back had so many bites on it as well as my neck and legs. So disgusting, I would never stay there again. My first time ever staying in downtown vegas and will be my last.
Awesome place. Super cool pool, with a fish tank in the middle. Except the pool was closed for the season. One of the best buffets i have had. Cant wait to go back.
Excellent location right on the Fremont street, rooms not that good , lovely staff.
If you value your time, do not stay here. Currently one day into a 3 night stay in Carson Tower and when I arrived yesterday there were 3 elevators (out of 8) working. Despite hotel staff assuring guest that the elevators are being fixed, there is now 1 functioning elevator and another has been stuck (with people?) for 10+ mins as I write this review.
Taking an elevator down is impossible as elevators never stop despite the light being lit. 20-30+ minute waits for an elevator on the 12th floor. The stairs only go down and place you outside of the building, so using the stairs is not an option when returning.
The only reason this hotel has scored two stars is because my room is clean, although that is it. My room has a TV with volume that cannot be adjusted, burned out bulbs and missing curtains on the window.
highly irritated that I was charged a "resort" fee...no maid service, no valet, most restaurants on site closed, slowest Wi-Fi I could imagine, I will NOT stay here again. couldn't even have a pizza delivered from somewhere else because they have a pizza restaurant on site(however it wasn't open for business)... highly dissatisfied, disappointed, and irritated at the experience... 2 thumbs down for the nugget and how they are handling customer service during the covid-19...
Love love love the pool. Gets crazy at night on the casino floor.
Such a fun weekend. This was my first time staying downtown, and halloween weekend was the perfect time to try. The nugget was v nice. Our room was bigger and fancier than expected and self-parking was free. The water slide was fun and the pool in general was a good time. The only downside was no coffee in room and a very crowded starbucks downstairs.
Nice hotel and nice room. Lots of good restaurants and gaming available.
Craziness on Freemont Street. Slots were not friendly.
We love the Golden Nugget, the ambience is just our style!!
I stayed here while in a golf tournament. Sunday check in was terrible. There was a line almost out the door, are you kidding me? I called and asked to speak to someone about more than three people to check people in. They said they would look into it. Never happened. Poor staffing at check in. Other than that, the hotel was fine.
We had so much fun their people are nice no matter what you do there they are to help you at any time drunk or not drunk lots of fun
Interesting historical location and poolside bar with large aquarium. Lots of fun.
Who wouldn't live swimming thru the sharks. Amazing, beautiful place
I had the most amazing stay at the Golden Nugget and hope to visit again soon. The rooms were very spacious, beautiful, with really nice bathrooms that had huge tubs which I really enjoyed. The pool area & shops were amazing as well but my favorite section was the Spa & Gym. I would recommend this place to everyone as they are located on Fremont Street which is the most perfect location, they have everything you need from restaurants, to gyms, stores, and anything else you may need AND they are priced really well.
Busy but great energy. The odds are better and has the old Vegas feel. A lot more fun than the strip..
The stay was okay, the hotel is a bit out of date...kinda vintage and the towels and sheets weren't replaced every day. The resort fee seems to only pay for the pool and fitness center so kinda not worth it to me. It's decent though if you don't plan on getting much out of your hotel.
Always a great stay st the Nugget. I love their pool and deck area. Where else can you safely swim with the sharks (sort of)?
This property has always been a five star and has only gotten better since Landry purchased it.
Great place to stay in Las Vegas right on Fremont! The rooms were a bit dated but made for comfortable accommodations none the less. Best restaurant in the hotel has to be the Cadillac Kitchen everything on the menu was delicious! It was the only place we ate at twice while we were in town. All around great experience at the Golden Nugget. We ll be staying here again on our next Vegas adventure.
Really enjoyed the Fairmont strip experience. A must and will definitely be back soon!
By far the best Downtown casino with rules ,tables you name it there the best. Top 10 in all of Las Vegas for standard table games
Great dealers and good vibes. Lots of younger high spirited employees
Definitely a favorite of mine always has been love the Fremont at experience. Great staff, affordable, clean, safe
Been here several times for a banquet and good times everytime
Reserved a room with our pet dog and nobody told us the dog would cost an extra $60 a night. For three nights, that's $180 on top of what we already paid. It cost more for the dog to be there than it did for us to be there. We had no choice but to pay the extra money and on top of the expensive pet fees, the room had no complimentary coffee. $15 for coffee. I have never had to pay a hotel for coffee in my life. What a great way to start your honey moon and birthday. I'll stay somewhere else next time.
This is one of the best places for a romantic stay, great restaurant selections and friendly staff. The rooms are very elegant and very comfortable. If you are looking for a night of fun and entertainment, this is the place for old town Vegas.
Worth every penny!
Our room on the 24th floor of Gold Tower was gorgeous and had a great view of the city. Finishes were great, bathroom was great, and our bed at home is an expensive, quality mattress but my boyfriend left here wanting to buy a new one because theirs was so comfortable. Two bottles of water were provided daily which we appreciated as it's easy to overlook the basics like water when booze and junk flow so freely downstairs. Although I brought my own products from home, freebies like shampoo etc. were provided which I expected of course, but what I used actually seemed to be quality stuff instead of the sub-par product I was expecting. Elevators were frequent and fast considering the height of the towers, and snacks are left out throughout the day by the elevator which we appreciated. Everything was clean and tidy, and I am pretty OCD when it comes to cleanliness in a hotel. For the deal I got when I booked, I am more than pleased. I realize I got a very good rate but have paid the same if not more for standard hotels. I also feel our room was of the same quality as any higher end hotel on the strip.
We had minimal interactions with staff but what we did experience was friendly and efficient. The line at check in was long but the front desk moved quickly considering the volume. The person who helped us was the least friendly but did assist us quickly and was professional at least - we realize he was also the most busy of the staff we interacted with. We weren't given directions to our room though and initially finding it was difficult even with the signs above, but once we knew where to go getting around was a breeze. We also had a tough time finding the buffet via the signage, and neither myself or my boyfriend are directionally challenged so that was a bit frustrating. I don't understand why the check out counter in our tower (which is also by the valet and garage) was only open on occasion as that would have made things much easier. Check out however is super easy with lots of options (tv, text, or in person) and the cleaning staff and all other employees you see around are very polite (smiles, 'good morning', 'excuse me', etc.)
We typically stay at the cheaper hotels on Fremont but I booked this room as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and myself. I am used to a higher quality hotel but my boyfriend and his family book rooms for a bed and nothing more. This hotel more than met my high expectations and my boyfriend who is not typically impressed by excess walked in to our room and actually let a 'wow' slip out.
The downstairs casino and lobby area are also gorgeous, but I don't feel like the restaurants we went to (The Grotto, Red sushi) are of the same quality as the hotel which is disappointing. They are better than most of the garbage you find in central Fremont but are overpriced considering taste and what you get. As far as gambling, I didn't win at all on our trip but felt that my dollar stretched further here than at many of the other casinos in Fremont. It will be tough to go back to any of the other hotels down there after our fantastic stay.
Enjoyed My Stay WE HAD A BALL
Happy Birthday Sweetie
Didn t stay but had a great time in the casino. Felt we did a little better here.
When you talk about Fremont Street in downtown you talk about The Golden Nugget. Excellent place to eat and Gamble.
Great vacation. We upgraded our room to a suite, best decision ever.
Very disappointed in the room and the cost! My family is on a long road trip and booked our first night a week ago. We just checked in tonight, July 18th, 2018. The cost was ok. But as we arrived, we are needing an extra night to recoup and extended our stay ONE night. It was over $350 MORE than the night before! On top of that, our room was very small and rather disgusting. The shower was horrible, the tub was dirty and the drain did not drain well at all. By the end of your shower, you are standing in your own dirty water. Gross. Very disappointed. Will not be recommending this Hotel or returning for any future stays.
This venue is usually reasonably priced and a comfortable place to stay.
The pool is amazing but the resort fees and hotel prices are extremely high for bland rooms. I wish the rooms had refrigerators (the El Cortez does at no extra charge)
Much bigger and better than I expected. Knocking one BIG star for the pool. It is the centerpiece of their marketing, yet it closes at 7pm. It was still 90+ degrees outside at 7pm during my visit, and I sure didn't want to be by a pool (or anywhere else outdoors) in full sun at 110 degrees. Even Motel 6 leaves the light on after 7pm.
Ate at the Cadillac inside the Golden Nugget, the place although small was actually quite good and had a great happy hour menu.
Haunted.
Yes haunted, as in real ghosts. This place made me a believer.
The room was clean and nice, the staff was great and the shrimp cocktails perfect. Great location, and the price was just right .
Now back to the beginning of my post. Yes, haunted. Was always someone to laugh at those who spoke of ghost stories. Not anymore.
When we checked into our room I felt anger, lots of anger. Had no reason to be, just had a great trip out and was laughing and having a good time. Until I walked into the room.
I even got into an argument with my girlfriend and was yelling, and I never yell. Stayed in the room because I was so angry at everything and I didnt know why. (I do not drink, so wasn't one of those random emotional bad drunk trips)
Eventually went to bed and then the show started when the lights were out.
She was asleep after having fun with her family all day.
Someone or something was in the room with me, anxiously walking around. Passing around the bed, close enough to brush by my feet (6"2 so they stick off the end) every damn time it walked by. A shadow of a man dressed from another time, maybe suit fedora. Hard to tell from a silhouette.
He would not stop, walking around the perimeter of the bed over and over. Stomping louder and louder, as if he was unable to enter the bed and wanted to hurt me in some way or waiting for me to exit the bed.
Like before a fight when someone is talking themself up to do something bad he kept walking back and forth around the bed.
Eventually I got tired of it all and fell asleep with the blanket over my head like a child. I felt as if it could not hurt or do anything to me, but that did not bring me calm. Could not believe what was happening, and I did not wake my girlfriend to see either. With every pass by my feet reminded me it was there, a slight brush of cold sheets against my toes.
Stomp...stomp...stomp.
The rest of the weekend I spent outside of the room and had fun. Did all I could to avoid sleeping and when I had to I downed a shot of nyquil so I wouldn't even remember going to bed. Most people visiting vegas are probably too drunk when they go to bed to realize they are knee deep in ghosts. Not a place for non drinking sobers like me.
Wish I could remember what room it was, only remember the view from the window.
So in summary, great service, comfy bed, and real ghosts.
The staff at Golden Nugget was exceptional. The security was understanding and righteous. The food was delicious, the rooms were impeccable, and the dealers were honest. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Thank you for having us, and your pool is pretty freaking awesome
Awsome, love the pool, but wish it stood open longer honestly. And drinks very expensive but still had to have it, except the beer cooler, that was pretty decent
Great hotel. Thanks for the upgrade to the Golden tower. Disappointed that half the pool deck was unavailable for use the day we were there.
Looks like they deleted my wife's review so I'll gladly leave one for her. This place was terrible. Most of the sockets in our bedroom didn't work. They're lack of communication cost me a job that I was there for. They offered no compensation. Extremely rude when it came to me telling them about how I've been treated. They try to turn things around as if it were YOUR fault. Our "upgraded" room totally wasn't. It might have been cool in its prime but I've stayed in holiday inns nicer than this place.
Great job on the remodel. Sharks and water slides always equate to a plus for me.
Beautiful lobby bar and a large gaming floor. The pool and water slide are fun when open!
Went to gamble, very nice casino, more friendly atmosphere than on the main strip enjoy going there everytime I'm in Vegas
My first disappointment with The Golden Nugget. Sad, as my son and family were here from out of town and I recommended that we stay there.
There was mold and rust in the bathroom/shower. The bathroom and or room had no ventilation. Therefore, the room was unbearably humid. My 13 year old granddaughter found somebody else's prescription medication on the floor, next to the bed. (How did they vacuum over that?)Wanting to stay in that area again at the end of the month. Now, I am hesitant to stay elsewhere, but sadly I am hesitant to stay at The Nugget again, too... And, I have always loved The Golden Nugget!
We stopped in for a bite at the Grotto. Everything was delicious and reasonably priced. I also liked the glass window into the kitchen, the rotisserie in the bar area and the beautiful Chihuly glass chandeliers. I won't be swinging from those!
Very nice hotel room with a delicious buffet. Was nice to have a place where you could escape all of the commotion if need be. Never had issues with noise of any sort. Everything was cleaned well and in working order. Planning another trip and staying here again.
Not what it use to be and has gone down hill the past few years
Big rooms, clean, awesome makeup lighting in bathroom big showers comfy bed and pillows. Loved the room good tv plus sectional sofa. The only downfall needs more parking and fix parking elevator but hotel is clean and good flow of people. Pool is nice heated and overall its the best downtown
Just wanted to see the actual golden nugget. Wasn't disappointed.
Probably the nicest casino with a beautiful pool. Better odds of winning at other nearby casinos that also offer comps.
I enjoy the DTV casinos. Cheap tables $5 - $10, so essentially one can have a lot of fun without breaking the bank and also your money last longer. Also drinks are cheaper and I feel the waitresses round quite often that you end up not even spending anything on drinks.
The shower didn't work and when I called the front desk the lady just gave me instructions on how to pull and twist the knob. I told her my husband and I had already tried that. She said she would send a technician to check it. About 45 minutes passed and no one had come by so I called again and the lady said it showed it had been complete and the problem had been resolved. I told her no one had come by, then she gave me the same instructions on how to pull the knob I told her to send someone and she said she would. My husband was in the hall with the door propped open, waved down a technician and asked him to check on the problem and guess what... the water in fact did not work! He called the front desk and turns out they kept sending the technician to the WRONG room! They called back and said they would move us, but didn't apologize or even offer any comp. They moved us to a smoking room and I was nauseated the next 2 days. We went down to complain and they said they couldn't charge us resort fees, but if we hadn't complained they wouldn't have offered anything. Ugh!
Across the California Hotel & Casino. One of the "cheaper" casinos. Excellent Buffet.
Great time. But new resort fee is outrageous. Vegas is changing. DISNEY....
Yah, history still preserved in the building
New tech in the games
But the freemont experience is there
Had a wonderful time and it was very clean and the people are very friendly
Older casino but classic. Very fun vibe and great machines. Right downtown in the heart of the old town action.
