Worth every penny!

Worth every penny!

Our room on the 24th floor of Gold Tower was gorgeous and had a great view of the city. Finishes were great, bathroom was great, and our bed at home is an expensive, quality mattress but my boyfriend left here wanting to buy a new one because theirs was so comfortable. Two bottles of water were provided daily which we appreciated as it's easy to overlook the basics like water when booze and junk flow so freely downstairs. Although I brought my own products from home, freebies like shampoo etc. were provided which I expected of course, but what I used actually seemed to be quality stuff instead of the sub-par product I was expecting. Elevators were frequent and fast considering the height of the towers, and snacks are left out throughout the day by the elevator which we appreciated. Everything was clean and tidy, and I am pretty OCD when it comes to cleanliness in a hotel. For the deal I got when I booked, I am more than pleased. I realize I got a very good rate but have paid the same if not more for standard hotels. I also feel our room was of the same quality as any higher end hotel on the strip.

We had minimal interactions with staff but what we did experience was friendly and efficient. The line at check in was long but the front desk moved quickly considering the volume. The person who helped us was the least friendly but did assist us quickly and was professional at least - we realize he was also the most busy of the staff we interacted with. We weren't given directions to our room though and initially finding it was difficult even with the signs above, but once we knew where to go getting around was a breeze. We also had a tough time finding the buffet via the signage, and neither myself or my boyfriend are directionally challenged so that was a bit frustrating. I don't understand why the check out counter in our tower (which is also by the valet and garage) was only open on occasion as that would have made things much easier. Check out however is super easy with lots of options (tv, text, or in person) and the cleaning staff and all other employees you see around are very polite (smiles, 'good morning', 'excuse me', etc.)

We typically stay at the cheaper hotels on Fremont but I booked this room as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend and myself. I am used to a higher quality hotel but my boyfriend and his family book rooms for a bed and nothing more. This hotel more than met my high expectations and my boyfriend who is not typically impressed by excess walked in to our room and actually let a 'wow' slip out.

The downstairs casino and lobby area are also gorgeous, but I don't feel like the restaurants we went to (The Grotto, Red sushi) are of the same quality as the hotel which is disappointing. They are better than most of the garbage you find in central Fremont but are overpriced considering taste and what you get. As far as gambling, I didn't win at all on our trip but felt that my dollar stretched further here than at many of the other casinos in Fremont. It will be tough to go back to any of the other hotels down there after our fantastic stay.
