Nice Dancing Pit....great people watching at night. They are Really trying at this place to make it nicer...it's alright, just so dark and dingey that you feel like you're in a cave.

The rooms are a bit outdated and can use a makeover.
Of course you cannot compare the hotels in downtown with the big resorts at the strip. But I prefer the strip and make a trip to Fremont Street.
If you want to stay downtown this is one of the better choices.
Staff was overwhelmingly helpful when I lost my wallet.
Food at the Grotto was very good! Everything we had was delicious!
This casino has seen better days. Lots of cotton tops and wheelchairs. Strong sent of cigarettes and dirty ashtrays.
I was very surprised how nice this hotel was...will only come here everytime I visit.
The pool is amazing. Slide through a shark tank. One step closer to swimming with them... #bucketlist
The shark tank pool is so amazing! warm pool on cold day! big hot tub open till 10. starbucks was a long wait! but location was perfect! our room was large and very nice quality!
Went to a concert there and therefore had our parking ticket validated where we didn't have to pay for parking at all. Easy to get in and out of the parking lot.
Elevators are slow, if they work at all
Resort fees high
Rooms ?????
BACK TO THE 4 QUEENS
The hotel room was a decent size but the air conditioning could not keep up to cool our room. We had a corner room so 2 sides of the room was on the outside it was almost like an oven in our room. I do like that at night they have security check your key to use the elevator. I believe they make a lot of money there they should do some extreme renovations on the hallways to your rooms.
Pay for parking, the Bellagio is free, bs, will not spend money here
Met expectations for my first trip to Vegas. Would definitely visit in the future.
So for the record this isn t the first review I ve written for GN.. I wrote another a couple years ago for a horrible experience I had at this property. I was contacted by a manager and offered a few free nights stay for my troubles (I had booked a room and when I got there they overbooked and it wasn t available) but when I tried to collect I was told there s nobody by that name here We ll fast forward and I figured since it s prime location for Fremont and a convention I was attending I d give them a second chance. Man... what a mistake. Booked through Expedia as I always do in advance and of course as soon as I got there I was told the room on the site was an upgrade and would cost me $40 extra per night so I was grumpy but whatever, I wasn t planning on spending that much time there anyway. Then I got to the room that had a old hotel smell to it and figured I could get over it. While the property has made several improvements we had horrible service at the Mexican restaurant downstairs and the final straw was the mold in the bathroom of my upgraded room the shower had mold in every corner, tub had rust spots all over and there was no fan so I could smell the shower from the previous guest that day. If there s a spot to upload pics I did indeed take them. Overall I can t say I ll be trying this property out again with 2 failed attempts as well as empty promises from staff. Good luck if you stay here, hopefully they treat you better then they did me.
The pool is very unique with sharks and big fish swimming next to you.
There was blood on one of our bed sheets when we arrived. Pretty disturbing so we ordered all clean sheets and replaced ourselves. That alone was enough to make this or last stay here. If you come here, bring sheets from home. We brought our own blankets and pillows but should have brought sheets too.
We stayed 5 days in the newest renovation tower, corner panoramic suite in Rush tower. First Ill mention Ive been to vegas a dozen times and never had a bad thing to say about any if the casinos/hotels Ive stayed at during my trips. This one: The 2 tvs had terrible pictures with lines and fuzz, the sound quality was awful. If you like coffee in bed, forget it, no coffee machine (only long lines in the lobby to buy coffee after youve already done your morning routine), no bottled water in the rooms, no fridge, not even a mini bar fridge. We had 2 panoramic views of 2 parking garages. The shower was an accident waiting to happen, entry was 3 inches above my knee cap with zero safety bars to ensure you dont slip when wet. We chose this casino to visit the pool scene with the water slide through the shark tank - this hotel decided spring break would be a good time to shut the slide down for grout maintenance. The pool is in the center of the hotel, tall buildings all around a cramped space = not much sun. Our package was supposed to include 1 night of free room service dinner, the girl confirmed this at check in, but when it came time to spend it, they said no dice no room service included in their computer. This hotel is about as far from the main strip as you can get, freemont street is fun in concept but at night it is filled with young obnoxious drunks, better in the daytime if youre over the "im so drunk i cant talk" scene. Im glad I stayed here to know the difference between staying downtown vs the main strip, but never ever again, better just to visit downtown. The food in the restaurants was excellent, Vic & Anthonys and Charthouse were top level food, and the service everywhere was great. Everything was clean.
Great poker room! Won some money off the chuckle heads at 1-2 no limit. Drink service was pretty good too.
I loved the aquarium i saw in a bar, but there was a wait for a seat there!! I would love to go back another time and try to get a seat at that aquarium bar i think it was at the restaurant The Chart House!! They have a happy hour at the bar too!! I will have to go back and try again to get that seat there!!
Fantastic hotel and casino. It was the best room we had and we stayed in three places while in vegas. Lots of Chihuly glass works adorning the hotel. Very clean and all staff were great
Fun Black Jack with dealer Ben. If you find space at a table with King's Bounty, sit there. Double deck, face down...no endless shoe.
This is my absolute favorite hotel in Las Vegas. Located where you can walk to anything. Amazing bar by the pool with gambling and a shark tank. Definitely worth a visit you don't have to leave it to enjoy Las Vegas but definitely there's a lot in Las Vegas to see.
Love Golden Nugget, the rooftop pool is Fabulous!! The servers are very attentive and the pool is so relaxing.
Wow got a great deal after checking out of Elcortez nothing like they described on line Golden Nugget saved us.great discount!!!well trained staff
Its so nice to see the resurgence of downtown Las Vegas. The Golden Nugget has always been a staple of this area and continues to do so with the best looking, classiest and most options with a casino.
The Golden Nugget provides a great gaming and drinking atmosphere. It also has some of the best restaurants that you'll find in the area. Ive been to the buffet which is great. Vic and Anthonys steakhouse is phenomenal and if your in the mood for great seafood then you must checkout the Chart House.
If you in the mood for gambling then they have all the table games, poker room and machines you could possibly want. The rooms here are great too and don't forget about one of the best pools you'll ever see in Vegas.
Cool fun place. Great shark pool for the summer. Several dining options and an adult pool.
Overall my experience at the Golden nugget was positive. Actually was given a few nights free from a promotion sent to me in the mail from my last visit to JUST the casino last year.
If anyone knows downtown las vegas, they know that the Nugget is right in the heart of Freemont where the main "strip" of downtown vegas is poppin' - thanks Golden Nugget , I had a great time
Recently renovated, every part of our stay was impressive. Great, quiet suite style rooms kept the Fremont Street noise at Bay. Great place to drop anchor.
Had a very good experience at the hotel the Non smoking rooms were very nice the casino Areas are spread out we're you have plenty of opportunities to play table games or slots the staff was very friendly the restaurant's was excellent and prices are within budget and the entertainment was a added bonus the only complaint is there was not a non smoking area for those of us that doesn't smoke plenty of times I got up from the table games and slot machine cause of the smoke was unbearable .and didn't have any other options .
The drink was pretty decent, had the weather been a bit warmer I probably would have enjoyed it more
Absolutely gorgeous. The staff was very nice, and accommodating. They currently have several Chihuly glass sculptures showcased, and the pool with the shark tank is absolutely stunning. Next time we visit, we will be choosing the Golden Nugget for our stay. Very close to Fremont street, and the food is incredible. I definitely recommend this hotel.
Service was good. We enjoyed pretty much everything about our stay. The price was appropriate for what we received. Long lines for the check in and out was the only drawback. Since we wanted to make sure we would get our deposit back we went in person. We had time to wait in line but obviously would have rather played some casino games! Fremont Street experience was really fun. We would come back here.
Chill place, had a great pool area. A solid stay if you want to be off the strip.
A classic establishment that has withstands decades of changes in its surroundings, golden nuggets is a symbol of the glitz and glory of old las vegas that's still stand today. If you want to experience the old las vegas casino establishment, this is the place to go. It also has a tony roma steak house that serves steak on special price depending on the night u go.
Whatever happened to the inexpensive buffets Las Vegas used to be known for? $25 per person for breakfast? Really? We would have gone somewhere else but we were with someone who is not extremely mobile. Food was good enough, but blew out our meal budget for the rest of the day.
The pool needs a little more seating and more kids friendly menu
Room was nice. Lost a bunch on slots though. Service was great.
Probably the nicest hotel on Fremont. Love the pool.
The a Golden Nugget is a nice place hang out for an evening out in Las Vegas! The casino has good restaurants, a great pool and great aumbiance (especially at night" The bonus is, there is so much more to see right out the door on "Fremont Street". With neighboring casinos. There's always street performers and good/interesting, and at times,"FUNNY" people watching. check it out! It's another part of Las Vegas well work your visit. "Particularly at nights"!!!
The Golden Nugget Las Vegas is still a great place to spend your weekends, shopping and dining, and close enough to the strip... just in case
Check in process was amazing. Greeted us when we walked in and checked in very fast. We arrived at noon and the room was ready to go. Room was clean, nice and everything that would normally bother a person about a hotel room or check in, had already be addressed and made simple. Ate several meals at the Claim Jumper Restaurant in the casino, and found the prices were good and the meals were amazing. Check out was available by text from my cell phone which was great and very quick. I will stay at the Golden Nugget again for sure and recommend it to all friends and family:)
Went to concert..Nice venue any seat was good. Very crowed hotel and casino.
Great place to stay, slots hit like crazy better here than the new vegas strip
My favorite place to stay downtown. A first class joint. During my last visit, I was lost and an employee came right up and escorted me to the correct elevators. Talk about top notch guest service!!
Valet was fast drinks were cheap and had a grest time on Fremont with my girl and her sister.
The view was amazing the dealers were good. I just wish that it was not so far.
I cam with my wife and she loved how amazing everything looks inside.
Pros - none Cons- way too many to mention. Been coming here for 28 years, can anyone else suggest a great hotel?
Just passed through but their presentation was phenomenal especially the christmas decorations.
Try the rush Tower at the Golden Nugget it is a very high-end Hotel very clean very luxurious my go-to spot to bring my girl for the weekend!!!
This hotel is on Freemont street in the middle of everything. Lots of nightlife around. Just a short Uber ride to fancier hotels.
If you aren't used to cigarette smoke you will die inside
I stayed in the older building and the room was very normal for the price and distance to the strip. My sister stayed in an upgraded suite and it was very! The pool surrounds a shark aquarium which is very cool. Restaurants aren't that great however in my opinion.
The Golden Nugget is a wonderful place to not just stay but to hang out. I enjoy having a few with my friends and playing some games, making drinking more social. I also enjoy eating their fries it's so delicious and comes in such a large serving for an affordable price.
Went to the lunch buffet. Nice collection of American and Italian food along with some Spanish dishes. Worth the money.
Nice Casino for down town Vegas, but down town Vegas is just a different place.
Decent room but we wanted non smoking and could tell someone has smoked in the room before. Tons of dining options and a decent casino. The housekeeping staff was very friendly. Parking was minimal even though we were hotel guests.
Great place to stay if you want to get away from the strip. First time staying off of the strip and it was a great experience. Affordable places to eat and a decent pool to go with it. Walk out the front doors of the casino and you're on Fremont Street! Always something to do, or just people watch! Would definitely stay here again
Slot machines were great and drink were freaking amazing!!!! The staff was really helpful. Casino was quite clean I will be coming back for their pool!!!
Old Vegas is excellent, the polish has been removed which makes the enjoyment all the better. The dealers on the tables are up for a laugh and even more so if you know nothing of the game. Brilliant place I would highly recommended a visit.
Been a very long time guest of the Golden Nugget. It is a consistent and fun, stable hotel and Casino with old school charm and decent tables to bet on. Better downtown. Not as pretentious as the Strip.
Very good hotel, with a great and award winning swimming pool. Downtown on the Freemont street. Enough reasons to stay there.
Attended a wedding here anies it was small and comfortable. The priest was great and the food at Grottos was delicious. You don't even need to go anywhere afterwards since the casino is right there
Loved our stay! So clean and best location! Loved the pool!
Didn't stay but walked through several times during my holiday visit. Very clean and friendly hotel & casino. Went by the gift shop and greeted by a sweet lady who was very helpful for souvenirs.
Great place to stay. Pool was fun. Love Fremont street.
We stayed in the non-smoking Rush tower. Fantastically appointed King-sized bed on the 19th floor. High enough to avoid most of the noise and the hospitality was great! I also hit for $500 on a slot machine!
Stopped in to have a late dinner at The Claim Jumper it was really good everything was tasty the service was wonderful the price was fair just a really nice atmosphere wasn't too crowded you could hear yourself talk and have good food and good drink
Old school charm. Imagine the old days in Vegas yet it still has a fresh feeling to it. The courtyard and pool are awesome. I've never stayed there but the casino floor and restaurant areas are nice. Gambling was ok but you know they say the house always wins and this is no different.
Worst experience in last 7 years.
My last visit was awful. First of all I have spent on 4 slot machines $200. No wins at all. Are they serious? 200 bets and no even single win? At least 10 cents. For the second 1 beer for 1 machine. I am playing $1 dollar bets and my wife cannot get beer. Also you have to wait for waitress for 20-25 min.
Next time you plan to visit Golden Nugget, just step to cashier leave your money, buy beer (1 bottle for the price of canister)at their bar and leave. Save your time, considering you have been at Golden Nugget.
The Golden Nugget is a great Casino with a lot of slot machines and table games to choose from. Right off the action-packed Fremont Street, this casino offers it all. The casino has lots of gaming, restaurants and entertainment. Also featured in this casino is the largest gold nugget in the entire world.
The room we had was close to the Dome inside the main building. It is worth paying the 5 extra dollars to upgrade your sweet. The staff was great the room was nice and well taken care of you cannot hear any of the outside noise coming from the road. I would definitely go back to the Golden Nugget.
The hotel is great as well as the pool area. You get the Vegas feel without the Vegas price but you also get what you paid for.
Very nice rooms. Nice linens. Very clean. Reasonable. Will stay there again.
Came in to gamble a bit. Although more cramped and smoky than most of the strip casinos, the Golden Nugget is very laid back and fun. Tons of machines and tables in a really fun atmosphere. Table dealers are generally friendly and helpful as well which is a big plus for people wanting to casually play a few hands.
