It had been years since I had been to the Golden Nugget and I was amazed at how modern yet classy it has been become. It had a very tasteful decor that represented the hotel's class. I would definitely go back again for a night out.

We went through the casino as it was our first time in downtown vegas. The casino smelled too much like smoke and there was definitely a lot of older people there compared to the strip.
I stayed three nights. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was alone and I always felt safe in my room and walking around the casino. Restraunts have great food, and their happy hours are awesome! Live music every night in the bar. I played the slots and played all night. They have a players club and their incentives are very generous. They have a resort store and a beautiful pool.(pool seasonal) You never have to leave the property, unless you want to see Fremont Street. Lots of fun stuff to do. I take the WX bus straight from the airport to the hotel. It's fast and safe. Great vacation, great value!
It is a great old casino hotel but still up to beat style. Love staying over here. Great food and people. I would recommend this hotel for a night or vacation stay.
Definitely a great value for the money. You can't beat the location, adjacent to the Fremont Experience and many other casinos and hotels, you're not going to miss any of the action here. It also is only a few minutes drive from the strip. Stayed in the Carson Tower which wasn't as bad as the affordability may lead to think. Room was VERY spacious and housekeeping kept it clean. There are a few great restaurants here such as the Claim Jumper and Cadillac. The casino itself isn't entirely massive but expansive. Staff is courteous and friendly as well. Downside is resort fee but for convenient parking its worth it.
The hotel and casino are rather old in age. With that the place is ran down, stains on the carpets, and a lot of the decorations are outdated. It has a bit of antique Vegas appeal to it, but it's definitely due for a renovation. The staff is very friendly and drink proces are reasonable. I will say, it's one of the better casinos on Freemont.
I just went to the casino, and it this one game that I just loved. I love it so much that I go to the Golden Nugget just to play Sizzling 7's it's great!
Had dinner there with our team. Was seated quickly and food came out in a fair enough time. Good for the price. Not big plates but enough to hold you. Staff was just doing their job, not highly focused on making it a great experience.
Dude, do not play the $5 blackjack tables by the Fremont experience exit. Total rip off. You are required to play the gimmick dollar side bet. Hugely favors the house and you burn through those dollars quickly. Smokey, too much money for tables and right across the street from a casino with $5 blackjack and craps tables even in the evening hours. The hotel on the other hand, I thought looked good. The pool was awesome to see. I would consider staying for that reason and going to other casinos in the afternoons when minimt bets go up.
Beautiful newly renovated Hotel right next to Fremont Street absolutely a fun entertaining place. The pool with the sharks flowing through it is absolutely amazing.
First off we get dropped off around the corner from the main desk for check in. Of course we took a bus from the airport but after a little confusion we found the main desk and got checked in. The staff was nice and directed us where we needed to go. The rooms are nice and spacious. The buffet was closed the whole week we were there which was unfortunate. However, the other 8 restaurants were nice and but little pricey when you have a group of 5. But the access to fermont street was really nice. To walk out and see all the crazy stuff going on was cool and the music from any one of the three stages was really good. If you are looking for a low key place to go and chill I would recommend. If you are looking for the crazy nightlife then stay on the strip and not downtown.
Probably the nicest hotel in Downtown Vegas. There's plenty to do at the Golden Nugget - you could spend all day just doing everything there is to do! Numerous bars, luxurious decor, loads of table games and slots, and much more awaits you at the Golden Nugget. They even have a waterslide that goes through a shark tank! A staple of every Vegas visit.
good but sometimes a scam in a way they really want you to stay there more so they tell you they will give you a free week but you have to pay for staying??? someone explain why they do this
Fabulous hotel! Carson Tower was amazing! Everything about it was great! Only issue was buffet prime rib was cold. But being there for 5 days it was awesome! Shark tank was so cool!!
overall happy with my stay, but the safe and phone both had dead batteries and I couldn't even #2 in my own room because the space between the toilet seat and toilet water was very close and my boys hung down into the water, gross...
I love this place, and the poker room here. It's off the new strip, but in the evening on Fremont street you can go see some awesome concerts. It's like a party all the time.
I love the location and the great rate on the room. Bed was nice; pillows amazing. GREAT pool. Good service at the pool on top of fun swimming area and water slide, but gambling floor was very unfriendly and lazy.
Hundreds of dollars later, well into the morning hours, we had to ask for drinks from one of the many staff just hanging out, and one of them literally asked if we were gambling. (We'd been popping back and forth the same few machines for hours at this point). AND my shirt worn to EDC earlier that night wasn't enough of a shirt, so we were eventually asked to put more clothes on if we wanted to donate more money to the casino. Nope, that was a good night call for us (but security was very nice about it). Guess middrift is inappropriate in Vegas now?? My bank account is fine with that.
Argita in the small store near the elevators was great. Friendly service from most of the staff all over, but not sure I'd book here again. (Unless I was planning on spending a lot more time than we had the last trip at their pool next time - that was the best part of our stay!!) That and maybe the build your own Bloody Mary bar by the pool. You can spend twice as much outside or come inside and get a custom drink that's twice as good.
Nice cheap place in the historical district of downtown Vegas. It is a nice getaway from the strip. The street is covered, get out and walk to whatever your heart desires!!
This is our "go to" hotel when we want to get away for a treat. Always wonderful and helpful staff, EXCELLENT food and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Hi, I have been coming to Vegas and to the Golden Nugget for awhile now. We love the Golden Nugget. Back in the 80's you gave out gloves with your name on it. Just wondering if you can start doing this again, with the virus situation it would be a good idea Thanks
The homeless was overwhelmingly everywhere...you can see even pick pocketers....we got ask multiple times to give them money....not safe for families or if you get too drunk...lol
Old school hospitality with updated amenities. Lived in Vegas 33 + years. Nugget is the center of the Fremont Street Experience. Visit Vito in the poker room and he will remind you why Vegas has been here for five decades Plus.
The Golden Nugget is located in downtown Las Vegas which is the old section of Los Vegas which is everything you seen the movies that you think it would be bright like very Lively
Bought a special on Travelocity and weren't advised of the $36 resort fee per night plus a $50 deposit. A nice $200 sticker shock that will keep us from EVER coming back! Rooms were also not as advertised unless you were expecting 1970s Red Roof Inn style...and thats being generous.
It's a good hotel at a great price. Excellent location on Fremont The staff was great. My only knock was the odor in my bathroom sink. It made the whole room smell bad.
Booked this hotel for a work event for 20 people. Great coordination with the conference and event staff, and competitive prices on the conference, catered lunches, and rooms. Hotel has several restaurants (Cadillac Restaurant was great) along with a few bars and lounge to choose from. Unfortunately didn't get to enjoy the Shark Tank slide and pool or the rooftop bar due to timing of the year and evening - really wish it was year round could have made the stay extra special and our conference is always in January. Card tables and slots in the lounge and around the main floor, also has section of indoor/outdoor seating by one of their bars and card tables that's very nice.
Golden Nugget is a great spot for drinks and gambling. Although not as cheap as some of the other locations on Fremont Street, the service was great and dealers were nice. My group and I played a few new games and learned a lot from them. Definitely would recommend for first time gamblers who are looking to learn new games.
I only went in to play poker for a couple hours. I didnt have to wait at all for a seat and I won so all is well. They had plenty of servers in the poker room serving drinks and there was plenty of action. I love that they give $2/hr comps there to play.
Very nice and clean hotel. We got a Jr.sweet room.Very nice bad were trying to find an outlet to charge your phone. You have to use the outlet by the sink the restroom. No outlets by the bed,tv, or lamps.
I would stay there again. Very courteous staff. Great room service. Clean room. The only thing I had a problem with was the rat-like hairball my husband pulled out of the bathroom drain because the tub was not draining. Would call maintenance next time if that happens - pretty disgusting. The other thing is no coffee in the room.
We had an issue with room service, but after getting in contact with the service manager, Rigo Davila, we were very satisfied with how he resolved the issue. Definitively high praise for his professionalism.
The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was very nice, plush pillows, soft sheets and towels. Our room had a beautiful morning view of the mountains. The casino and hotel where both very clean. The pool is amazing. We will definitely be staying here again when we come back to Las Vegas.
Ewe. Only two because the check-in staff was so kind and accommodating and the room.was very clean. Bathrooms are very small. Housekeeper was knocking on our door at 11am sharp on a Monday. Spent oodles at tables into early morning and couldn't even get a late check-out. I'm pretty sure this part of Vegas is where class goes to die. Nevermind the conundrum of chaos on Fremont Street. Skip that.
I enjoyed staying here. Normally I would not have stayed in the downtown, but rates for the hotels were insane during CES. This turned out to be great!
Decent. It was pretty nice, but obviously not like the more expensive ones on the strip. Our TV and remote weren't working correctly and we had suite facing Fremont St, it was really loud. Luckily they provided ear plugs!
Well maintained casino hotel with unusual shark tank pool. Centrally located in the middle of old Las Vegas Fremont St so you have plenty of unusual sightseeing to do. Owned by the Landry's so you have good restaurants available.
started playing video poker at the bar and the bartender told me I needed to play at a faster pace before he could give me a watered down drink . I waited 46 years to go to Vegas and thought an old school(named) casino would be cool. disappointed
Great Hotel & Casino!!! Nothing bad about this place!!! The restaurant's to the sport's book to the rooms as nice as any in Vegas. So convenient to Freemont Street & the Downtown Events Center!!!
First time staying here its a great hotel. Rooms are nice and everyone is very friendly and its nice to be able to just walk out to fremont street and people watch.
Great hotel and very nice rooms. Tables are very reasonably priced. Pool is nice and heated in the winter. The slide that goes through the shark tank is pretty cool. This is the place i always stay at when not at the strip.
I stayed here before our wedding. The bell helped take care of my wedding dress, made sure it was steamed in my room, they sent 2 bells to our 2-story room so we didn't need to put everything together on one floor. We also held our wedding reception in our room. Thank you Golden Nugget for making our wedsing day so special...
Little older crowd, a little more dressed down not as serious as other parts of Vegas. A different type of fun. A lot cheaper surprisingly the best drinks I got in Vegas were from here. We stayed in the newer part of Vegas but ventured down to this area and had a nice time.
Great location. Needs to take care of little things in the room like caulking, paint. Pool the same, service is no the best due to overly crowd. Only one lobby to check in but was told by employee to check in at another location of the hotel.
I wanted to stay downtown for a change and was very pleased with the golden nugget our room was nice. The pool was awesome, the slide through the shark tank is really cool. I had one of the best margaritas ever at the bar with the aquarium.
