I have worked with GMI for the past 3 years for service contracts on laboratory instruments and we are very satisfied with the level of service we have received. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to use their services.

From day one, I was impressed with GMI's energetic sales team and competent technical staff. They put forth the effort to understand our equipment needs, brand preferences, and budget constraints. Their commitment to service extended far beyond simply providing our lab equipment; we wanted a 'drop-in' solution to minimize laboratory down-time. GMI met our exacting challenge by coordinating delivery, placing equipment on the lab floor, and performing installation on the day that was specified. It was an impressive feat ... $200,000 of gear, two trucks, six movers, one service engineer all in-and-out within a day. The equipment arrived in great condition, was placed exactly where we wanted it, and was installed and verified for use. When we embarked on building a new lab, we were looking for a vendor, but also for a partner. We found one in GMI.

I am the director of a core facility in a medical college. We purchased two pieces of equipment from GMI: a Leica rotary microtome and a TissueTek paraffin tissue processor. We wanted to match equipment we already had so that we would not need to cross-train our clients. The entire team at GMI was great to work with and the equipment has more than met our needs. I will certainly look to GMI again in the future.

GMI sold me a new biosafety cabinet for my laboratory I was setting up. It is exactly what I needed, and the GMI representative spent a great deal of time with me on the phone describing the product and comparing it to other products. The reps knowledge level seemed much higher than many of the other company reps as well. The product is working great. One thing that could make the process better was the installation instructions for the biosafety cabinet were pretty poor... but that probably has more to do with the manufacturer of the biosafety cabinet and less about GMI. I will definitely ask GMI in the future for quotes on instruments or equipment I will need for my lab.

GMI is a great source for used and refurbished lab equipment. GMI takes a lot of pride in their work and it feels more like the security of buying new equipment rather than used. Their service people are nice and easy to work with and Jason B. is a friendly, responsive sales person.

We bought an old Beckman floor model centrifuge earlier this year and it's been running wonderfully. When the motor drive belt broke, they had a new belt to us in a couple of days. Easy peasy.

GMI has great customer service. Used for supply of blood gas materials needed for research, which arrive as ordered and timely.

I bought equipment from GMI. The equipment worked as promised and they were good about helping set it up and getting it working. Their tech service was available by phone. But I only needed it to help set up-the equipment worked well and did everything we needed.
Now that I'm closing my lab, I've called a number of used equipment companies about buying my equipment, and GMI has been the best and most receptive.. They've been good to work with on either end of the transaction. And they're nice people on top of their competence!

Getting grant funding is hard! Bio-medical / Chemistry / Biochemistry equipment is really expensive and it eventually breaks down (usually before the graduate students, too). GMI has always had great prices on the equipment I need to run my lab and more importantly they have always stood behind their equipment. Any and all issues have always been resolved timely and fairly. Even when something does break (like an HPLC) just past it's warranty; they also provide great repair services and again at fair cost (typically more cost effective than the dealer / manufacter). GMI has even offered extended warranties so you can be sure you'll equipment will last the length of your grant. There are other places where you can get equipment (or gamble on eBay) but GMI has always delivered for me and therefore I highly recommend you contact them for your equipment needs. You won't be disappointed because if something is amiss just let them know--they will resolve it. Happy shopping!

Our laboratory's micro-centrifuge finally quit working, so the time had come to find a replacement. We had opted to upgrade to a bench-top one to have some redundancy with the Beckman GPR we are currently using. At first we had checked with a large well-known distributor of laboratory supplies/equipment, but their customer service wasn't up to par and pricing on a new unit was very high. At that point we decided to look into refurbished equipment. The sales reps at GMI were excellent! They helped us explore all of our options for our new (used) equipment, were extremely informative, and had great communication. In the end, we ended up with a great centrifuge at less than a quarter of the cost of a new one and it shares accessories with our older Beckman unit. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. On a side note, I noticed that our gamma counter was also purchased at GMI and has been running strong for the past 11+ years. Thanks everyone at GMI!
