"DON'T CALL GILLECE" Took them about 3 weeks to complete a job that was supposed to be done in a day. They have very poor customer service. We've had to call them, to schedule various jobs instead of them calling us. I guess they were just going to leave the job unfinished if we didn't call. Their excuse was they were short on electricians. Well then, stop assigning jobs to the electricians until the other jobs were complete. I mean fully completed! We've asked to speak with the manager multiple times and told they would give him/her our information, but never received a call back. They asked for a review, this is an honest one... Don't call Gillece!
Chad Conley was beyond wonderful, professional & personable. We had broken sewer pipes in our basement & called your co. We recieved prompt assistance and wonderful service! This employee should be at the top of your management team with his knowledge, expertise & compassionate attitude! The cost was high but we are very satisfied with the work completed. I would highly recommend your company and your professional team !!!! Also........Ryan Chiplaskey & Crissy Stephens doing the physical work needs praising! These two were so professional, personable and such team players! They worked so very hard & I was so impressed! Hopefully your co. will recognize these two exemplary employees for the asset they are to you !!!!
My husband called Gillece because our furnace is making a loud noise when it turns on. This company installed our furnace ten years ago, and we wanted to see if it was still under warranty. We scheduled a service and the technicians came to our home within hours. They told him that it needs a new balance fan and pressured him to make a decision that day. We missed the warranty date by three months, so they wanted $800 just for the fan. We just moved into our home and didn t know we had a problem until we turned on the furnace in November. When the new fan was installed, the noise actually became worst and the technician saw other issues that we won t originally told about during the consultation. I started doing some research on my own and found the fan online for around $100. My husband called the office for a week and the manager did not call him back. So we decided to contacted the BBB and the manager gave us a full refund. Buyers Beware - this company will take advantage of people that do not know better.
Steven Thompson is a great person he was so professional with me and my mother he even helped us get back every dollar we could from our insurance company he took over with them for us and sent all the paperwork and made the phone calls which we know he didn t have to do .He kept his word and had us using our drains the next day while they worked on it ,other local plumbing companies still haven t even called us back.Gillece saved us at the end of the day they called us back, came out, sent us one of the guys (Steve) my 3rd son lol and was very fast but did things the right way the 1st time.god bless.
Terrible prices, Don't even waste your time. They didn't confirm appoint for $99 electrical outlet special. Had to call and they showed up two hours later. Said my switches didn't qualify on my new home cause I wanted to supply and change to new square LeGrande switches vs the toggles I had. Quoted $4200 to change out 20 switches, I was told on the phone they could do it for $200. Quoted $2400 to run a wire 15ft off panel and make and extra outlet. Charged me $550 to install a 20amp fuse in the box, I supplied the fuse for a wire I had run to a sub panel. Gillece is a Total Rip Off. Tried to sell me warranties. Spent an hr writing quotes then 5 minutes to put the fuse in the panel.
I changed 20 switches myself in 3 hrs. I saved $4200, so easy to install new switches. Owner should be embarrassed to provide Pittsburgh home owners with these prices. What a Scam Artist!
I called for an emergency electrical repair. I would think with an emergency, which it was, that they would get someone out there ASAP. First they promised that they would get there the same day. Near the end of the day, they called to tell me that they weren t going to make it. That I would be put on the schedule for tomorrow morning. Ok, no problem. They called me the next morning, and said that the tech will be calling me very soon. Finally at 4:00 pm, they called again and said, they aren t sure if they will make it there again, by the end of the day. They advertise same day emergency service, but it s more like 2-3 day emergency service. I ended up canceling and called another service who showed up an hour later. Gillece will not receive any business from me in the future.
I want to thank Gillece plumbing for the excellent service provided by their technician Tom Ehland who came to my home the same day I called do to a plumbing issue that I had. I so appreciate the quick response and professionalism and have to give credit for the work he did. He was neat, knowledgeable, and courteous. I will recommend your company to anyone who needs the services that you provide.
I will never call these "plumbing" quacks again, and I'm telling everybody I know how bad this place is! The guy came over with a smart ass attitude, did not fix the problem & actually broke something that did not even need to be bothered! He left me worse off than when he got here! Do not trust these morons!!
Steven Thompson Sr. was the ultimately professional. He has years experience and extensive knowledge of his trade. He quickly diagnosed what was a very difficult plumbing issue on our main bath and explained each step he needed to take and why he was doing it. Highly recommend him if you need plumbing services. Excellent job from start to finish.
Steven Thompson was very helpful and knowledgeable with opening the main line. Definitely the team member from Gillece I will request next time I need their services.
Steven Thompson was very helpful, he came out and spent plenty of time inspecting our sewage System, and snaking and cameraing our main line. He was incredibly informative and showed me exactly where the problem is. They were very upfront with the costs and what to expect. I appreciate all his honesty and thorough explanation.
Nathan did an install of a new outdoor faucet for us and did a phenomenal job. Professional and courteous. Scott came out to give me an estimate beforehand and he was really helpful and gave me options. Unfortunately there was another issue found while my install was being done. I thought I d have to wait forever to get it fixed but Scott and Mike came out and did the replacement right away. We always use Gillece and I see no reason to change! Thanks guys!!
They were quick, came that day(earlier than expected even).Came back that day and installed a new hot water tank.It is really nice that the employee spoke so highly about the company and owner that he works for.Said he hopes to work for them forever.Puts a lot of trust and piece of mind in the company .
My home is an 80s home in Slippery Rock Pa. When i bought it, i knew that the AC and furnace would be 1st to go. 2 years later on the hottest days of the year and no AC. Ive used Gillece for plumbing issues in the past and they were great. I am aware of the scathing reviews online but most are being investigated from disgruntled ex employees and some who didnt like the price- which honestly is given up front. I called them the night it went out and the very next day at 8am, 2 men arrived to check it out. They laughed when they saw the original furnace and way undersized condenser (that finally went out). I agreed now is that time to replace. We spent an hour going over options and applying for credit. Once that was done i was told i should hear from scheduling within 2 days. Well- the very next morning they called at 7am and asked " how about today?" I happened to be off for 3 days so i said absolutely. By 830 a crew showed up and they went at it quickly. I was shown everything wrong with the old system as well as an un-cased coil that was 1 inch deep in guck. Besides putting in a condenser that was doa out of the box- they were quick and efficient. The installer returned the next day with another new condenser, on his off day which i overheard him explaining to his wife about the job. 2 hours- done. No surprises in added costs. Its ashame these guys are getting bad reviews for revenge and anger but ive never had issues. I told them i believed their cost was slightly higher than others but you get what you pay for. Things break so lets see if i still feel this way when i have to place a call, but for now my home is nice and cool. Its never been this comfortable here since i bought the place. Great job Gillece and I hope you get those fake complaints handled. I know there are some that may be legit but every company has that.
Extremely knowledgable and friendly. Very helpful in determining and explaining what the problem was and the remediation necessary. Highly recommended.
Steven Thompson is the best , Professional , Patient he showed me every step and why my sewer line kept backing up we replaced a sec and now 3mnths later no back up ,before getting it fixed it would happen every 2-3mnths .Thanks Gillece all the guys were 5stars.
I scheduled a furnace check up for the older furnace in my home after seeing an advertised promotion. Two technicians showed up at the appointment time (I believe one was being trained) and they spent about 25 minutes inspecting the unit before going over some things I needed to be aware of. He suggested a few things I could look into getting done that would make the furnace more efficient but was not pushy and gave me a rough cost idea. He even suggested I call the electric company and request a rebate catalog that may save me some money. Good experience overall.
Dylan came out and found the problem to are panel and recommend a new service upgrade and we went with the work for my mother and he did the work the next day fast and did a great job I m happy with the work and the way he explained everything gillece needs more people like Dylan
Ron (the serviceman) was courteous. He completed the AC check and recommended that it be cleaned. A couple of days later another tech came and performed an acid wash on the unit. He said that it was not as dirty as Ron had described. Our biggest concern with Gillece is that the techs frequently push additional services that are not vital to the operation of the equipment. These options can be quite costly. Since we are on pensions we cannot make all these additions.
Recommended Gillece to my son to diagnose/unclog a simple line clog. The somewhat cleared the clog(not completely) and told them it would cost 4000 -6000 dollars and had to dig up their basement. I told my son to get a 2nd opinion, which they did, and the issue was NO WHERE NEAR THE EXTENSIVE PROBLEM GILLECE SAID IT WAS. the end plumber cleared the clog (completely) and instructed my son to simply re route the downspout. He did and all is good. Gillece is renown for overestimating, overcomplicating, and overcharging honest middle class people. I'm sorry I ever mentioned that name to my son. Gillece is a RIP off company which tries to take advantage of honest people. SHAME ON THEM. BUYER BEWARE to the utmost extent. Find another plumber.
Very professional and courteous technician. Annual furnace and A/C inspection. Found 2 items defective on the furnace and will replace them for free. Explained the Gold, Silver and Bronze service plans in very great detail. I'm considering the Gold plan.
Worst experience I have ever had with a company. I bought a new air conditioner and furnace from them. Just to have the furnace work for 2 weeks and need fixed. Called them for service, told me that day, waited ALL day and got a phone call that they could not arrive until the next morning. I need heat, I have a child and its starting to get cold at night. BUT this 24/7 EMERGENCY service doesn't work. I am on day 2 and still have not had a technician yet. I advise anyone that is planning on using them, find ANYONE else. Even someone that does a half ass job, cause this company runs backwards.
Matt arrived on time. He was here for an as-advertised AC checkup, and he inspected the furnace and air conditioner. He made recommendations for routine maintenance, as well as preventative programs Gillece offers. It was an efficient visit and I feel better knowing the HVAC in our newly purchased home was gone over by a professional before we use it for the first time.
I had an awesome experience dealing with Gillece! Very professional with a down to earth, easy to speak with attitude. Plenty of options were offered, work was completed fast, and there was nothing to clean up afterwards. I associate the company by the one representing them and John was amazing. Explained everything in detail, very easy to speak with and because of John I will gladly return to Gillece for all my service needs!
I called Gillece because they were supposed able to be at my house quickly and open a clogged drain. called back 3 times. finally came out 7pm They advertised $93 drain clearing or free if they were unable. They were Unable to clear the clog and still charged me. They did leave me with a $7200 or $12000 option , and after stressing over night I read many reviews that this seems to be their norm. I can complain about being charged even though they weren t able to clear the drain. I got another plumber to come look at in the morning. They cleared the drain in l15minutes and said they didn t detect any problems with the line. I feel like i have been scammed. I feel bad for elder people or others without knowledge who have fell into the trap or scare tactics.
GET A SECOND LOOK BEFORE GOING WITH THEM. They tried to hard-sell us on a new hvac unit for $10,000, said our unit was dangerous and could blow up or catch fire. Also said our motor was burned out ("shot") and replacement would be $1800 minimum. Second opinion revealed the problem was only a $200 (installed) capacitor: something Gillece didn't even check for, according to a copy of their own checklist. I notice that anyone who got a second opinion appears to have saved money and given Gillece poor reviews. We are lucky we did our homework and didn't fall for a $10,000 scam.
Robbers thieves scammers!!!!! It's too bad because the work they did was decent! They have made a living out of scamming people! The gas company told me to call the BBB, because we paid 3times what I should have!!!!! So if you like paying more than you would anywhere else go ahead and use them!!!!
Jay W was professional and helpful. The service was pricey, but they were timely and have "emergency" hours. I would definitely use them again (and him in particular) if I ran into an another electrical jam beyond my (limited) expertise.
The work done is professional and good. HOWEVER, there customer service and scheduling and dispatchers are HORRIBLE!!! I have been LIED to, I have been treated VERY unprofessionally, and I am DISGUSTED in the manner in which they treat me. I EVEN pay for supposed VIP service. Their dispatcher should be FIRED!!!!! I've asked for their owner or president to call me....... nothing. I bet NO ONE will even respond to this review.
Steven Thompson saves me and my party on 4th of July I had a major plumbing problem with my drain Steve came right in and within seconds he found the problem and knew how to fix it.Thank you so much I will forever call Gillece and ask for Steve such a nice hard working Gentlemen.I give him 10
Your technician, James Hackwelder, was extremely helpful. He identified several problems that others had missed. He was able to get our sewer line open and running and explained what we needed to do to take care of the underlying problem. His service was fast and courteous and very much appreciated. (reviewed by Ginger Austin)
WORST EVER. THEY DO NOT EVEN DESERVE ONE STAR. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OVERPRICED. WHAT A JOKE. QUOTED ME $1000.00 FOR A JOB THAT TOOK ME 45 MINUTES AND $33.00 IN PARTS FROM HOME DEPOT.
For professional service and quality work Go to gillece plumbing heating and cooling Superior work done by Ritchie and Russ Superior work done by Tiffany and teevia Excellent experience with sales and service Hard working dispatch crew Excellent job thank you stan
Not deserving of even ONE star, Gillece installation was so bad bare wires directly under dehumidified shorted out $11,000 5 year old furnace. Lies about not being a York dealer because they are such bad products. Then attempts to sell me a cheap new furnace and air conditioner Which was also improperly installed for 9 thousand dollars. Later found out from there peers that they are one of the worst dealers in the area always in court. Told that my warranty was expired Found out from another dealer that my warranty was good till 2021 all he did was enter the serial number for York. As result of their poor craftsmanship water shorted out the whole furnace, then the con man wanted to sell me a warranted part and labor on a circuit board for a thousand dollars and would not guarantee any of the work. If you look at the cheap plastic fixture that caused all f this problem it was stripped out and with what looks like some type of adhesive then forced on the dehumidifier fixture till eventually it gave way and flooded the furnace with water. It was inspected less than 6 months where on of other technicians the same on who accompanied the con man sheister was working and reports to have inspected the furnace mysteriously began leaking. They also charged my wife for a warranted AC repair while under warranty, My wife ordered new filters for the furnace charged 159.00 for them and they never placed the order pocketing a cool 6000 from a warranty repair, called them never returned my call. Buyer beware of this organization they came over to my house with a conman named Steve who is disguised as a technician with the purpose of conning me out of an additional 9 thousand dollars . Buyer beware, Buyer beware, Buyer beware, Buyer beware, Buyer beware. Run from theses guys I am a retired sales man an have never seen such unethical behavior. Conman Steve drove off telling me he was going home to his nice warm house.
We had a variety of electrical issues and Jay W was very helpful with diagnosis and providing options for fixing them. He also was polite and quiet while my baby was sleeping! Would call and ask for him again!
Jim was very knowledgeable regarding all aspects of the jobs we discussed, i.e. new sink, three new toilets, scoping of drainage lines and declogging of them, as necessary.
I had a bathtub issue with it not draining so I called Gillece. Scott showed up on time. He was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. The price was very reasonable so I had it done. I am very pleased with the work done and the cleanliness after the job was completed, I highly recommend that you "Call Gillece" for all of your plumbing needs.
We had a semi-large job to install a new shower and drain lines in our old 1920s home, as well as replace the old copper water lines going to our bathroom. Gillece did all of the plumbing work for us over the course of a few months, and we were pleased with them being courteous, flexible, and professional.
Scott Christian was the first plumber from Gillece to work with us. He diagnosed the leak, and drew up plans for the necessary repairs. John Beard from Gillece was the primary plumber doing the construction and repair work. I was impressed with both Scott and John, and will definitely look to have them do work for us in the future.
I also appreciate how Gillece handled unexpected issues that popped up during the project. They worked with us on the cost of new repairs that were discovered, and they recognized that the job deserved someone with John's experience.
Secondary thanks go out to Nate, the interim plumber who helped get the project started so that we could start demoing the shower. And John had an extra set of hands for the bulk of the construction, but unfortunately I've forgotten that plumber's name.
CHRISTOPHER WAS EXCELLENT AND PROFESSIONAL gave explanations treated us with respect and choices of prices . We are on a budget and worked with us Will recommend him any time made a friend Pat &Ed Kocsis
CROOKS!! I called Gillece because I was intimidated by a corroded drain pipe. $55 to come out and give an estimate. I figured while he was there I would ask him to replace 2 shut off valves and a spigot that I had already purchased. If the cost wasn't too high, I also wanted him to replace another drain, 2 shut off valves and a spigot that I had already purchased. After about 20 minutes in his truck, he came back with an estimate of $1700 to do all of the work. The tech said, "I get all of my prices out of a standard book. I'll show you the book!". I say, the guy that wrote that book is out of his mind!! He called his boss to see if he could get the cost down at all. He came back with a price of $370 to fix only the corroded drain. I sent him away with his $55 and he also took my intimidation about the corroded drain pipe with him. I went out and purchased $12 worth of parts and 2 hours later, I had fixed the drain and replaced the spigot. I will get to the shut off valves another day. If you have more money than brains, call Gillece. If you value your hard earned dollar and can't do it yourself, call the local plumber that charges by the hour and doesn't have to pay for TV commercials.
I had a electrical technician Hal come to my house to give me an estimate on hooking up my pool heater. Not only was the trip and estimate free, but after he was done giving me the estimate it was definitely reasonable with a guarantee that my pool heater could be hooked up today. I agreed to have the work done, and Hal took the time out to explain everything step by step. After the pool heater was hooked up, Hal then took the time out to explain how things works and what to do in the future. He also recommended other service and even though I declined then for now he still was respectful and professional doing what I asked to be done. There s a lot of talk about Gillece being overly expensive and not worth the money or time. I totally disagree Gillece was actually less expensive than several electrical company s and definitely honest about being able to do the work that day. Hal was completely up front on everything and didn t leave until all my questions were asked and I was completely satisfied. I will be using Gillece again for my plumbing, electrical and heating services in the future. Thanks Hal and thanks Gillece !
gillece solved my heating and ac needs promptly. they offer programs to have service done quickly. a good experience, i would recommend them to have work done.
Routine AC / Furnace checkup. Technician was professional and provided helpful tips. Gave us just the service we wanted. As usual, Gillece tech arrived as as scheduled.
Absolutely fantastic service from Colin Z. at Gillece Services. Colin was very professional, extremely knowledgeable, gave me updates on what he was doing as well as gave professional recommendations for things I did not even ask for. Would recommend Gillece and Colin Z. highly! Colin took my family's safety into consideration and gave solid results and solutions. I am extremely happy with the service, the professionalism, the timeliness and especially the communication and recommendations that Colin gave me. I know who I will call if there is a next time!
Eric H was wonderful and honest. Eric helped fix our backed up sewage and didn't charge us a ridiculous amount of money. Overall, we had a fantastic experience with Eric and highly recommend him to anyone having issues in the future.
Steve Thompson from Gillece arrived on time as scheduled and assessed a leak I had in my basement wall which caused moderate damage to my wood studs, drywall and insulation. He was absolutely professional and answered multiple questions I had as well as explained all that he was doing throughout the process. Steve showed complete professionalism, was very efficient with his time. I highly recommend this individual to anyone who is in need of a great and honest plumber and I will request Steve again in the future if I have a need that may arise. Thank you Steve! Justin from Shaler Township.
Steven Thomson Sr unclogged our bathroom toilet for us tonight even though it was late in the evening. He was personable and efficient. I would ask for him again anytime.
Was promised 2 days in a row I was on schedule and then told more important emergency but promise they would be out kept calling all day to find out at 530pm they won't be coming again nothing they can do about it! Poor customer service. Every time u call someone different answers and get a different answer/excuse. Let's see what they will do now??
The first technician didn't have the proper tools when he came to check our pipe. He kept asking us if we had tools. Then he didn't have the video to see what was going on. So he sat and waited for 45 mins for the second technician to show up. He said the video showed cracked pipe and need replaced. So my husband took a day off to break up the concrete and dig the hole to expose the pipe. Only to find out, that there was a clog and NO broken pipe. So, regardless to say we are extremly irritated. We have waited over a week for a supervisor to call us back. All we wanted was a professional snake and the technician told us no, "it was a waste of money". Now we are $300 into a project that didn't need done! Do not trust this company.
I would like to first say that I do not typically do reviews, but I was just so impressed with your employee that I felt compelled to do so. On January 24, 2020, Tiffany arrived on time with a smile on her face. She quickly got to work to figure out why we did not have power to one of our bedrooms after she intently listened to my concerns. Funnily enough, the situation resolved itself! The power came back on after resetting the breaker, which we had tried multiple times, on our own, to no avail (as it goes when your car is making a clangy noise, but doesn't do it when you have it at the shop). She still searched for the culprit and found the offender...a burnt wire in the breaker box! She suggested that we replace the outlets and light switchs. They were originally installed the "lazy way" 25 years ago and thought it best to do so as she could not deduce what caused the burnt wire since there was currently power to all outlets. Tiffany also suggested a whole house surge protector and explained the unequivocal value of having one. She also offered me Gillece's service plan which included ALL of the services that they had, not just electrical, and told me about the benefits. She then proceeded to draw up a few estimates for me to review. As we went over them, she clearly explained what she would do, what the cost would be, how I could save money today with the service plan, and then let me choose what would work best for me. At no point did I feel any pressure to purchase ANY of the products and services she presented to me. She genuinely cared about my needs. After making the decision to go with the service plan, the surge protector and the replacement of the outlets and light switches, she immediately got to work. She finished in a timely manner and then took me around to show me everything that she did and was patient with me while I asked questions. Tiffany was great to work with! She was very kind and professional. She was confident in her abilities, but at the same time, truly cared about me as a person and engaged in conversation (and a few laughs!) as she worked. I highly recommend her to anyone needing electrical work done and will be requesting her for any of our future needs! Thank you, Gillece, for obtaining such a wonderful employee!
We've had Gillece out to our home multiple times. USB outlets, LED lighting, outdoor faucet and furnace checks every year. They've done good work for us.
This was all a scam job, called the night before due to a clogged drain in my kitchen and the operator said they couldn t come until the following morning which was fine. I received a call the following morning explained the entire situation to the operator and asked if it would be covered under the clog crusher special that is so widely advertised the lady said yes it would be $93.00 plus $65.00 travel charge. I went on to schedule for 8-12 received 2 calls during that time stating that they were busy and not able to come yet. Finally got the call saying that he would be there in an hour. Me and my roommates all work daylight so I had my elderly mother at the house to be there while the plumber worked. The gentleman showed up introduced himself to my mother and then sat at the kitchen table and started filling out paperwork never looking at our kitchen sink. Mike then gets up and attempts to get my mother to sign this paperwork, while she was dialing the number to call me my roommate came home and she showed him the papers which turned out to be a credit application charging $597 to unclog sink, $170 fee and $65 travel charge wanting to charge $89 a month. My roommate called me and put me on speaker phone and I asked what it was so much for, at this point mike got offended and started yelling and ranting that it would not be covered under clog crusher special I then asked how he would know if he never looked at my sink and that set him off that he has to protect himself and he doesn t know who s home he s entering etc. I then said if he couldn t handle meeting strangers and handling his job in a professional manner he should find a different profession after saying this he stated he could handle his job and to give him his God damn money so he can get the hell out of there. He stated they take cash only and do not accept credit cards. I then stated I was going to call and speak with his manager because I didn t appreciate someone coming into my home trying to scam my mother and disrespecting me and my roommates. I called and spoke with who I believe to be his supervisor Monique and told her the story as to what happened and she said she had to get his side of the story and would call back. 5 minutes later my roommate called back and said that he got off the phone with his supervisor and again was saying to give him his money, I waited 5 minutes in hopes that she would keep her word and call back which she didn t so I had to call her. She stated he was still in the home so she couldn t get his side of the story. I then stated that I didn t believe I should have to pay him when he never even looked at the sink that was clogged and then yelled and cursed at my roommate and I with my mother present. She then stated she would call and tell him to leave my home and the fee would be waved. This was a horrible experience with a very disrespectful person. I don t know about everyone else but I do not entertain people in my home who disrespect my family and I, and I definitely do not pay these people to do so.
We called Gillece because we had a drain backing up in our basement. Problem was diagnosed the same day we called them and fixed in less than week. Joe and Harvey were wonderful workers...the best. Friendly and explained EVERYTHING so we could understand. I would call Gillece for anything. Joe even brought donuts for my kids! Great people and job well done.
The guy was nice enough but I was told that I needed between 6000$ and 10,000$ in repairs. They ran my credit (which caused hard inquiries) then after a second opinion, I found out I didn't need any repairs. A 185$ clog.
Tiffany, Tevina, John, Andy, Richie, George, Ron , Jr and Tom E... all technicians were extremely professional and courteous at all times. Their expertise in their fields of work are excellent. Each of them knew their jobs thoroughly. I will recommend Gillece Services to everyone I know! Thanks to Gillece s entire team!
Hi, Seems like the jetter service, that was advised and performed by the plumber was overpriced when compared to others. Do your due diligence, even with a puddle in your laundry room.
This is a horrible company to work for . And even worse for those hue fall victim to there massive amounts of advertising. They are ridiculously high about 40 to 50% on average higher then anyone else they sell horrible cheap equipment Builder Grade do not honor there warrantie. Misconstrued about the manufacturing warrantie when there is a problem. They lie and there goal and only goal is for you to buy all new equipment they use scare tactics and the fact they can install that day or next day . They operate plumbing the same way everyone needs a knew sewer line and they will show u a pre recorded video to convince you or just lie about what you see they are run buy addicting self absorbed unprofessionals this is a small part of the problem and only a small peace of the big problem I will be following up with Channell 11 news as well and check you tube they have been on there numerous times for the reasons above and there are more obviously I will be submitting several reviews over the course of the next few months . So I can help people from this unfortunate business practice.
I woke up Saturday morning and the house was cold...colder than what I am normally used to. I checked the thermostat (that I normally keep at 68) and it had a reading of 62 degrees. Now, I've had some issues in the past with my flame sensor that I've had to take out, clean and replace, but the flashing green lights on my system didn't indicate a flame sensor issue this time. It indicated a Low/High Limit switch issue. I work in IT, I am not an AC/furnace guy and don't know much about electrical. A neighbor of mine knows enough to be dangerous and he was kind enough to stop over and check a few things out for me. He was unable to resolve the issue, so I started getting on the phone. Gillece was the first company to commit to sending someone out to the house. Mind you, I have an 11 month old child in the house, so getting heat was of the utmost importance. Everything else went on hold that day.
Kevin from Gillece showed up touting that he was a field manager and typically didn't do house calls, but he was out and about that day and stopped by. He pulled out some tools and gadgets and within 5 minutes was telling me that my unit was shot and that I needed a whole new furnace, which would cost me in upwards of $7K. I was floored. While I was trying to process everything, he tried to upsell me on upgrading my AC unit, which is also a bit older. He said if I committed to them doing the work, he could do the furnace and AC for $9990. He kept telling me that had a "deal" that was for use in the Fall, but he was never told to stop using it, so he was still offering it to customers. I started to get VERY leery of the path Kevin was going down. He also said that he could replace a part in the furnace that he didn't have, and couldn't get until "Monday or Tuesday". That part would've cost me, with installation, $750 and said "I can put it in, but I'd be back here in a week cause that part would be bad again". I was floored. He came back with "hey man, I don't make the prices". I decided to send Kevin and his gadgets packing for the $89 fee for them to just show up. I took some time to think through my options.
My father, who is now retired, worked in window sales for 40+ years. He's made plenty of connections in the business. He got on the phone with a guy that he's done business with in the past. The guy he provided my information to called me within an hour, even though he was out of town in Ohio. His name was Nick, and Nick couldn't have been a nicer gentleman. Nick works for another company that I won't mention in this review, as I don't want their name associated with the shyster's that are Gillece.
Nick wasn't able to show up until the next day (Sunday), but he also said IF everything needed to be replaced (furnace & AC) that he could do it for roughly $6K. He also mentioned that he didn't think everything needed to be replaced and that he would get to the bottom of it Sunday morning. Perfect. My brother lives a mile away from me. My wife and I packed up everything we needed for a one-night sleepover at my brother's place. Saturday night came and went. I woke up Sunday morning at 7AM with a text message from Nick. He would be at my house by 8:30AM. I headed back home and threw on a pot of coffee. It was now 52 degrees in my house. 16 degrees colder than what I normally have my thermostat set at. I had a space heater downstairs, so I plugged that in in the living room so that my wife and son had SOME semblance of heat. Nick shows up at 8:20. I take him downstairs to the furnace. He pulls out the SAME gadgets that Kevin pulled out, ran his tests and told me that my High Limit sensor was shot and that I needed a new one. I was worried this was going to be the same part that Kevin couldn't get until Monday or Tuesday. It was, however, Nick brought the part with him. He took the time while on the phone with me to troubleshoot a few things prior to even coming to my house. He had 4 different parts he thought it could be before he even left his place to do the repair. Total cost, $217 with parts and labor.
My husband and I are very pleased with the service that Gillece provided for us. Our major plumbing issue was started the day we contacted them. Joe was very thorough with us about what was going to be done to correct the problem . His team who came out to work at our home were very nice and professional. We recommend them highly.
The service I received was great! Everything was done in a professional and timely manner. Joe and Joey did a great job keeping me updated on the progress and made the experience painless. I would recommend these guys to anyone that needs help with their plumbing needs!
