Urban "wild" area in North London. Absolute delight. You can really believe, for a little , that you are outside a major city. "Inside" Hampstead Heath you can find Kenwood House, with its art gallery, formal grounds and very pleasant cafe. and Parliament Hill Fields with it's more municipal park layout. The Heath has ponds where you can swim...for both gentlemen and ladies, although traditionally the location of the ladies pool is somewhat a secret.
It is possible to walk from the boating pool at the top of the Heath, near to the roundabout at the former Jack Straws Castle (bus 210 from Archway or Golders Green Underground Station) to Oarliament Hill Fields, where there are buses to Archway & Kentush Town Underground Stations. The walk is all down hill.
The delightful Highgate and Hampstead Villages border the Heath.

Hampstead Heath is found in the omonymus borough of North London. The park is just about 20 minutes from the chaos of the city center by tube (Hampstead, Northern Line). Nearby you can also take a look at the Fenton House, Kenwood House, the St John's Church (John Constable rests in the churchyard), Jack Straws Castle, Spaniards Inn or walk along the picturesque Well Walk and Flask Walk.

It s the discounted primrose hill. If you don t want too many people, but still want a hill with a view, go here. If you want a better view that will wow whoever you re with, go to primrose hill, it s only a ten ish minute walk somewhat.

Hampstead Heath is a bit of the great outdoors in the middle of the city. With many features you can spend hours on the Heath exploring, playing or relaxing. I ve lived near the Heath for nearly 20 years and still find bits I ve not explored before.

Must visit when in London. There is a great spot in the park where you can see the London skyline. Very nice to walk around, have lunch or BBQ and enjoy yourself. The neighborhood is also very cute with some beautiful old houses and there's an architecture walk as well.

I've had a long association with Hampstead Heath - I used to live in Hampstead over a decade ago - and yet still every time I go back I am amazed at how it feels like being a million miles away from the bustling city - you are almost immediately transported into the countryside. In a city like London, given all the pressures on land prices now, it feels like an extra special privilege to have this here. Without wanting to go overboard with the superlatives, on a sunny day it honestly feels like a slice of paradise.

Beautiful park to get away from the city bustle, have a brisk walk or romantic stroll and relax in the breeze. The viewpoint offers a great vista over London on a clear day. Not far by bus or tube and worth visiting.

Absolutely beautiful spot to spend many lovely afternoons! Whether it's just a little walk or a swim in the ponds, it's an exceptionally delightful place! I'd especially recommend checking out the Pergola a little further up the heath - it's truly spectacular and usually very quiet too!

Well maintained, but not too manicured, dog friendly park and woods just off the charming village of Hampstead, with several decent pubs and restaurants near by post walk. Parliament hill offers fantastic views over London, great for Sunday walks and some decent running trails.

The best bit of green in London, bar none. No visit to the capital city is complete without a trip to the least-citylike place in London town. Go for a long walk or sit on the grass for a picnic. Perfect for family fun and outdoor time.
