Always an amazing meal served with excellence and ambiance
Really enjoy the food, the service, that ambiance and the choices. Farm to table, strong kitchen, farmhouse chic. Highly recommended.
Experience the exceptional in atmosphere and cuisine.
Excellent service in a friendly atmosphere. Delicious meals.
Food is fantastic. Often very crowded but generally worth the wait.
Really good fillet mignon, great leeks and carrots. Terrific Nebbiolo Barbaresco. Good atmosphere. Not noisy but very busy. Easy parking. Efficient personable service. I ll come back.
This place never ceases to amaze! I come here every time I'm in town
Amazing!!! Can't wait to go back!!! Service was great. The food was DELICIOUS!!!!!!
This is a really special place to visit, one the better restaurants I have been to from the service, to the venue, to the food and way the food is sourced and prepared. Our server was fast and friendly with lots of recommendations. I got the sirloin tip steaks medium rare and they were amazing. Lots of wine options, drinks options, fresh locally grown vegetables and lots of dessert options. Try this place out if you have the opportunity. Came back a second time and had the roasted chicken. Absolutely amazing once again, I really like coming here.
Great food and atmosphere! Great food! Excellent service
I was here for a wedding last weekend and it is a beautiful venue. On top of that the waitresses and bartenders assisting us during the wedding were phenomenal. They were all nice, funny and personable. The wedding reception was from 11:15-3:00 and the service was phenomenal throughout. We were there as the staff was preparing for the dinner rush and an evening wedding and you could tell that the staff gets along with one another. I grew up in Groton but had never been here to eat, but the food and drinks were phenomenal. I can't wait to go back as a regular diner to experience some of their other dishes and drinks.
Large, expensive, local-sourced, excellent food, although not very adventurous. Very few TVs. Moderately quiet, but not intimate. Needs reservation.
Wonderful place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, graduation or new job. My wife and I visited last week to celebrate our ninth wedding anniversary. Loved the idyllic views of the countryside as we sipped craft cocktails in the field below the two restaurants. Dinner on the patio was delicious, with moist cornbread to start, followed by a decadent feta and beet pancake with smoked trout. Entrees were a tender, perfectly-cooked New York sirloin with butter-tastic Yukon gold mashed potatoes and succulent sauted zucchini; and a creamy yet tender risotto with marscapone and shaved Parmesan. Our glasses of Shiraz and Chardonnay were perfect pairings. The only negative of our visit was that as night crept in, so did the mosquitoes. If the Gibbet Hill staff can figure out a way to keep the ankle biters off the patio, it'd be a five-star experience. But we will surely be back for more celebrations.
Aside from being in the middle of nowhere this place is worth a visit. Heavy on the steaks but they also have some great specials. Drink list is extensive. Decor is great.
Love this place. We were married here and have been going for our anniversary every year for over a decade.
I attended a work function here on 1/19, I have annoying food restrictions but this place prepared a delicious meal and everyone raved about their food. Definitely recommend.
Can be a little loud, but good food and great service.
Jennifer Bernabe is the best just love her personality is beautiful she is great
Perhaps the best restaurant in Central Mass. The views alone are worth a stop.
Outstanding meal, friendly staff, beautiful location. Beef tartare and crab cake starters were great and the pappardelle with lamb was delicious; a hearty lamb ragu on fresh pasta with a hint of fresh mint to give it a little something extra - delicious.
Just had my daughter's wedding shower here. We had a great time. Staff was wonderful with plenty of food.
Not enough stars for this restaurant! Simply wonderful.
Id give 4.6 stars. Everything was great for the entire party of 8. Except two different people ordered Brussel sprouts which were completely and totally burnt to black. Inedible. Everything else; service, drinks, apps , food, dessert and atmosphere were great.
Fabulous venue. The food was fantastic and the service was great!
This is where my family goes for a celebration... Moms 86th birthday
She ordered the hadock with corn chowder, this is served in a large bowl together. She loved it. The others at the table ordered the filet, all cooked as requested. Felt like there was a small fee for all extras, steak sauce, salad, onions ect. Was disappointed in the past, the birthday person always got a free peice of cake, not any more. The waitress stated they give truffles instead...still waiting, maybe she meant next year!
Food is top notch- the decor is amazing. It's a true New England feel with warm service and outstanding quality.
Absolutely the best restaurant in the area. It's one of the few places you can go to get great fresh food and feel both at home with your kids as you do dressed up for nice evening out on the town.
I've never had a bad meal here ever, the only downside is that if you want to get a table during busy weekend hours you'll probably need to make a reservation in advance.
I was brought here as a surprise by a couple of my friends as a slightly late birthday surprise.
This is someplace I personally wouldn't go to myself- WAY out of my price range.
But, wow, what an experience. The service was excellent, really beyond excellent.
The food was delicious. A rare treat for me is a hangar steak. This was served a little different than how I've had it before, but that not withstanding, it was absolutely wonderful. The special green beans, wax beans in a lemon olive oil and balsamic glaze were quite tasty, and the fries were good. The kitchen-made steak sauce was a little sweet for my tastes, but was still quite nice on the steak.
The blueberry and blackberry crisp was outstanding.
It's a great pick for a special occasion, or, if you feel like a nice night out.
We went here for my birthday and it was a treat. I got the steak frites and, at the suggestion of our great server, got it covered medium rare instead of rare. Which they actually cooked correctly (nearly everyone overcooks). My wife got the steak tips and we both loved our meal. Absolutely worth the trip and I look forward to having another reason to go!
Scribble Dibble has created here for the last few years in honor of Erika!

Excellent steaks and burgers. I've been all over for past jobs and have had great steaks BUT Gibbet Hill beats out some top names such as Ruth's Chris as well as other top name places. They are pricy BUT you get what you pay for. My wife and I eat here at LEAST once a year. But now since friends know we love this place we have hundreds of dollars in gift certificates. I'm hoping that Led Zeppelin's Robert Plant and Jimmy Page (although involved with trying to save his house from the drilling planned next door; I'll pray for you Jimmy) would join us for a fantastic steak dinner.
First time every eating there. We were very happy with the service and food. Not from Groton area but would go again if we are in the area.
Every time we go we have an incredible meal and experience overall! We have done dinners and weddings here and both venues are awesome and would recommend everyone go here! It is our new special occasion dinner spot
Amazing food! Awesome gluten free options! Everything is so fresh.
Good food, but a little pricey, and this place is big, busy, restaurant machine.
The atmosphere, quality of farm fresh foods to table and staff is excellent.
Tooo dieee for!!! Best food I have had in a while in Massachusetts. My sister got married here so I have been twice...both times were amazing. We started with the flavorful fresh crab dip. It was so good. Then we had bread and their butter is so good. We all got steaks - 2 fillets and 2 Ribeyes...they were all cooked perfectly and we so tender. Got Mac and cheese on the side and it was amazing. Super cheesy and creamy and I love shell pasta! The crunchies on top were cooked perfect. Finished with the Chocolate Pots De creme and it was melt in your mouth. We all were so happy we went back and can t wait to try other stuff on the menu!! Service was great too. We will be back soon!
Absolutely wonderful meal. Have been there many times and never disappointed.
The Webber Family and Chef Tom Fosnot host an exceptional experience. Relaxing atmosphere, well prepared fare and friendly staff, whether at the bar, in the dining room or for private events. I especially recommend trying the weekly farm-to-fork specials made with ingredients from the on-site produce farm.
My daughter ran a surprise birthday party at Gibbet Hill. Service was great, staff very friendly and helpful, and food was phenomenal. Specialty drinks were very genernous in size. Atmosphere warm and pleasant, especially the fireplace. Very fairly priced. Would strongly recommend.
Great place and the food was very good. I had the butternut squash and apple soup and a the meatloaf. Would definitely recommend this place.
We had our rehearsal dinner here in the private upstairs area on a Friday night from 4-7 pm and it was so great! They have a beautiful fireplace up there and breathtaking scenery. Ashley was unbelievable to work with - she was so responsive and gave great suggestions to make sure we stayed within our scheduled event time. I even dropped off place cards that morning and her team set them up for me based on the diagram I drew up. The food was SO good and the staff was so friendly!
Lovely place with great food and a well-trained wait staff. Only deducted a star for the price as it can be very expensive to take a family here, esp on a special occasion. That said, the food is terrific, the ambience a mix of classy and cozy. Best dining in the general area, but priced to match. Decent craft beer selection too, worth a mention.
Surprisingly busy, even on a Tuesday night. We know why - it's great. We enjoy sitting in the bar area, and take our chances on finding a table there or spot at the bar without a reservation for two. Had the filet for the first time, and it was delectable! My wife loves their salmon, so we're easy. Good cocktails, good wine, we even took the blueberry crisp dessert to go. We'd go back any time.
I went with a group of 11 people and the service was excellent!
The building itself is very welcoming. The size and shape is set up like a large barn. The front "waiting area" serves double duty as a lounge with the option to have drinks and appetizers. The drinks are imaginative and very good. The food is very fresh and also very fun in the aspect that they have a "grilled cheese" for an app. The cuts of steak are season perfectly and nicely grilled. The sides are very good and nothing feels prepared from a can or bag. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. Overall I haven't had a bad experience and I extremely doubt I ever will with their philosophy towards cooking and service.
Fantastic dinner for a special occasion or for a night of not cooking at home. Fresh ingredients make for fine dining.
Excellent food and exceptional service as always. Would love to see expanded New England, wine selection.
Love Gibbett hill, everyone is so nice n friendly, n the food is awesome
Very nice place for a special event. Extensive menu, good atmosphere for conversations, and very friendly waitstaff. Can t beat the farmhouse environment of the interior and amazing views of the countryside.
Excellent venue for weddings...the food was superb!!!
Always excellent!!! We live out of state & about 3 times a year we are in Groton & look forward to eating here everytime. Superb farm to table restaurant with wonderful selections & spot on friendly service!
Food is always great and service is too notch. They go out of their way to make sure you're happy with your food.
Ok this place is an absolute hidden treasure( if your from.out of town of course) there is not a bad meal on the menu. Be prepared for an awsome evening in an old barn that has an incredible view of the sprawling property. The service is great but it does get very busy and I would recommend calling in for a reservation as it does get and stay very busy. Tje bar area has been recently updated and expanded also very busy area.. I would say worth the drive Even at 1 1/2 hrs away. I will highly recommend this for anyone wanting a great evening out...
Our friend recommended this location to us, so we went for our anniversary. The start was great. Nick was a wonderful server. The food was delicious. Near the end we had to ask a manager walking by for some containers for the leftovers. Besides a little snafo with the missing waiter at the end we enjoyed a really nice meal. Will most likely return.
Good food. Good service. A good night out for anyone.
Farm fresh ingredients pack the flavor and spirit of elevated classics in a countryside setting with rolling hills and greenery. A must try if you're in the Boston / Worcester area.
Love the expansion in bar area- always top notch service and food
Such a great restaurant, food is amazing , ambience is great . If you are full dinning or just seating at the bar either way the experience is great !!! Definitely one of the best restaurants around this area
Very disappointed with our first experience at Gibbet Hill. In the bar area, the waitresses were sloppy, and showed no concern and lacked any personality for their profession. The prices were high, the food took to long, and when it did arrive it was cold. We sent it back, then manager came over to address our table and immediately blurted out to the table, -I guess we have an issue. Two of the meals were taken off the bill. The entire experience was nothing what we expected given the rave reviews on line.... I would definitely not recommend Gibbet Hill to anyone...
Lovely restaurant, good food. They do steaks well. Not a gourmet restaurant.
Only draw back is that it is very noisy. Hard to hear your table companions.
Rodent hair in salad. Taken away by manager but not replaced. Nothing done. Never saw manager after that. When we got the bill, salad was charged. Finally we got the salad charge removed. Wouldn't recommend this restaurant. There are many great restaurants around that treat their customers better.
Found a hair in the salad. Waitress came to take it away. Manager came over to apologize and stated she would check in with us later and "take care of us". She never returned to our table and the salad was never taken off the bill. This was the first and last visit to this restaurant!
Excellent meal, excellent decor, fantastic service! I had the Scottish organic salmon, and it had an incredible depth of flavor and introduced me to the amazing sweet accent of pickled ginger. Others I dined with raved about the meatloaf, clam chowder, steak frites, and haddock!
Loved this place! The atmosphere, the food, and the drinks were fantastic! Sad we moved out of New England and didn't find this gem of a place sooner! Will be visiting again when we go back.
Amazing food, relaxing environment, friendly service.
Homegrown beef makes the best steak you'll find in the area. Steak choices served with two farm sides. Besides steak the menu features delicious American fare including a delicious pot pie. Dessert choices do not disappoint.
I will preface by saying, COVID has affected restaurants immensely.
Butternut Squash soup was excellent. Service is friendly. Having to purchase an appetizer with each cocktail is a bit much. I don't like the idea of having two cocktails and being forced to order two appetizers.
Hopefully this will not be a ling-term-new-norm.
New bar is immaculate.... One of the best dining experiences of Narrowest Boston.
Whoever wrote a bad review doesnt know what they are talking about. Ive never had a bad meal here. If I am going out to eat I want to make sure that it will be excellent every time. This place makes that easy. The wait is always long but it is worth it. Grab a drink at the bar.
Unbelievably delicious Farm to Fork!
Simply the most scrumptious dry aged steak, along with mouth-watering appetizers. Not an everyday place due to its price, but a top-notch selection for a celebration.
Bring your guests and family here to wine and dine them to bliss.
Wendy our server was excellent, food great . First time and coming back with friends.
The first steak I ordered was over cooked. They made right on the steak and comped it. dessert and drinks were outstanding. The service was great and management went out of there way to make sure I was satisfied. I will return.
Birthday lunch for my wife and myself. Not cheap, but worth the money if you have it. Saving up for next year.
Beautiful inside and out. The waitstaff for private function was very friendly and attentive to everything. The steak tips were amazing, farm to table is the best. Great selection at the bar as well!
The restaurant and its surroundings are beautiful. We drove through a great section of New England countryside to get there. The food was really good. They focus on farm-to-table dining with an excellent selection of steak. My hanger steak was just a tiny bit underdone but it was still very delicious. You will want a reservation as the place seems to get very busy.
Only been twice but great food both times. Awesome atmosphere.
Brought the Crew from Averill House Vineyard, what a meal! Francesca was a fabulous server and I could have stopped at the fried pickles and been happy.
Amazing food. We go every year for Easter and are always 100% full and satisfied when we leave.
Perfection in preparation & presentation of food, in attentive (but unobtrusive) service, and in extraordinary pastoral location!
Our close friends had their wedding celebration dinner there. We were in a more private area upstairs and it was beautiful. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was really great and the food was delicious. A great time was had by all. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
Worth the wait for the reservation! Excellent food!
I love Gibbet Hill Grill! We always love the steaks there but went off the rails a little with our ordering this last time - we went with haddock and meatloaf for the adults and hanger steak and cheeseburger for the kids. The meatloaf was really good but a little involved recipe-wise (I think I would have preferred for it to be meatier) but everything else was pretty great. The sides were spectacular - glazed carrots, radishes, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts. Our salads were great and desserts were outstanding also - in particular the chocolate pot de creme.
