This place is soo amazing! This restaurant is on a farm and everything they make is from their farm. The cheese, the milk, the cookies. It's all amazing with a great atmosphere that doesn't focus to much on a farm and helpful staff.

Cocktails were delicious, food was just average. We would return for a cocktail but nothing beyond that since my entree, the haddock, was lukewarm at best and more like a big bowl of warmed milk. I'd pass on the caesar salad since it seems as though they are rationing the parmesan (we each received a single sliver plopped on top) and dressing (I'm not sure mine had any on it, no exaggeration). We are not food snobs by any means, nor are we cheap when it comes to dining out, but unfortunately we did not have an impressive experience here. Not entirely sure why this place gets the high reviews that it has. It's absolutely a beautiful space, no denying that but the food was incredibly disappointing.
Great for the family, friends dinning out, romantic dinner. All in all its a great place to go to for lunch or an evening dinner. May be pricey for some but it's not to pricey.
Fantastic hidden gem in the hills of Northern Massachusetts. The wine and beer selection was excellent, the fireplace warm and inviting. The food was delightful, and the service was attentive. Highly recommended.
Disappointed with the food this time. We usually go to Gibbet Hill once a summer when we are visiting. The last two times we were not impressed with the taste/flavor of the food. The atmosphere and servers are excellent but the food was not impressive.
Had the most delicious beef stroganoff I have ever had before. The price to portion ratio was right on point. We sat at the bar which was great atmosphere!
The meal was fabulous. Gibbet Hill's steaks are heavenly and the cornbread is buttery, crumbly perfection. The barn offers gorgeous views of the rolling farmland and is beautiful inside. Service was wonderful, all of the staff is friendly. I can't wait to return!
Just a nice place. Very good food and drinks. If you can get there early you have grab a comfy bar spot. Never had a bad meal though you do pay for it. Fairly so.
The chefs and waiters are amazing, the food is fresh and always made well. Matt the service is wonderful and chef tom is so pleasant. The haddock with corn and potato chowder
Not a good place to eat .. Pricy Not enough food Exp: 2 steaks No DRINKs Crowded. Even with. Portion On the side.. small 100.00 Dont go... Mile away is so much better Service staff not professional
Regularly rated one of the best restaurants in Massachusetts. Not a place to go for a quick informal meal. Reservations recommended almost any day or time!
Love Gibbett Hill, food always good, atmosphere great!! Our selection of appetizers were great and delicious. As main course I had a fabulous Filet Mignon, well prepared and delicious, very soft and melting in your mouth. The Frites were nice but a bit anemic, they should have been a but more brown. The waiter was brilliant in handling a happy and bubbly crowd in the second floor "rotunda" room. Kudos to him! Can recommend this gem anytime! One note: on a weekend evening downstairs is very noisy, be prepared.
A wonderful restaurant. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the service is friendly and attentive, and I've consistently had very good to great meals here. Consistently excellent.
I love the place. It's fancy, cozy and the staff are great. Excellent food. The best crab cake I have ever had in my life! Yummmy! Make reservations because the place is always full, doesn't matter the time.
This was my second visit to this fine restaurant. Everything they serve, drinks, food, and dessert, is artfully prepared and cordially served by an excellent staff.
We had a party of 9, reservations needed as this place is popular! The place was lively, the staff friendly and ready to answer any questions whether it be about the food, history, or the cows in the field! The menu isn't big, but that isn't a bad thing. Everything on that menu is made with the utmost care; it's all worth the money. Make sure to save room for dessert after your meal, the cookies and milk are a delicious take on a classic. If you're looking for an amazing night out at a higher end restaurant, but don't want to have to wear a suit and tie, Gibbet Hill Grill is the place to go. If Will is the host, make sure to say hello!
Never fails to disappoint. Been here off and on since it opened with long hiatus' in between because they just fail, repeatedly---often, and not by alittle. And when they do it stings, mainly because of the price point. It's not all bad, it's just we seem to have the worst luck.
Drinks are good, service can be okay to good, but the cheap quality and the markup leaves little for value and when preparation, execution and technique miss---not sure if its lack of a true chef, or what, but they need to taste their own food. Brined chicken [for the chicken and waffles entree] way too long or just the percentage of salt to water solution was off, I know this because I brine all my chicken and pork...the result was a salt bomb on the first bite [fried chicken and waffles sound good in theory, and make it at home], the outer crust was cakey and crunchy, though color was nice, it was not that crispiness you want, almost like a baking powder/flour dredge mixup--- then realized it was a wing and two bone in sections of leg. So very little chicken, paying for the bones. Noticed a chicken breast entree on the menu, so this is cross utilization more than likely. The second cut into was undercooked and alot of blood towards the bones. Enough to know this wasnt temped properly. Being in and from the industry, there are many workarounds, par cooking for one...this was a fail. As blood pooled around my dish, even my partner spoke up. I agreed, this should be sent back.
From there it was handled okay, manager came by after bartender came back to whisk it away---and she meant well, but added in, it was brought to the chef that said "it may have been under, but he said it was cooked through" sorry---not sorry, if it bleeds and its poultry other than duck it shouldn't be served. It was taken off in the end.
This just goes along with the many execution errors we [I], have dealt with over the years. I thought with Forge and Vine coming in, they might up their game as far as close competition goes, but it's the same ole, and it just might be, because Groton has little in the way of competition.
Prices are steep for what you get. You're paying for the aesthetics, because they serve terrible steaks, small overpriced salads, and the last few times dating back months, more food has gone back then eaten from our table, yes steaks, mis temped burgers, a steak frites special that was ice cold, etc etc. I think we may just give up and leave this one for the older scene/crowd that is Groton, because you'll get tackled by them to get in here on the weekends, so clearly they are happy.
I would recommend this place. Food and service is exceptional. I did ask a lot of questions about the menu food and drink the server she was more than happy to answer all my questions. I think we had the best seat in the house in front of the fireplace next to the kitchen. I just love excellent food and service.
We came here for Thanksgiving dinner. My first time here actually and will be coming back! The waitstaff handled the rush of Thanksgiving like a charm, the food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend if you are in the area.
Gibbet hill lives up to its reputation. I've been here many times, even reserved the mezzanine for a work function... it was fabulous. I've read the negative reviews and disagree with each point made. Steak not good? Mine has always been excellent. Steak small? Both my Labs would have issues finishing the usual cut. Apparently the one consistant theme of negative comments is the wait time. Yes... it's fine dining... I look forward to my table not being ready! Hello... it's called "Aperitifs". Sit at the bar, order a drink, have some friendly conservation with a fellow patron and prepare to enjoy an excellent meal.
Our waiter Nick was wonderful the food was amazing ,and a beautiful field with cows in it . The food came out so quickly and very tasty. I found my new place to eat. If you have never gone you should .
Love Gibbett Hill but a recent visit was disappointing. The East Coast Oysters were good but TINY. At $18, the price was not tiny. They were beautifully served though. Entrees were great, love the steaks with sides, and the Potato crusted Haddock is a solid choice, better than Forge & VIne's. PSA: They got rid of regular bread in the bread basket and only have corn bread now. PLEASE bring back the regular bread! It was nice when it was a mix of both but not solo.
We arrived early for an 8pm reservation, with hopes of sitting at the bar to have a drink. Unfortunately the bar was jammed with reserve seating on the bar itself. Food here is excellent! We had a party of 6 with a variety of entrees choosen. My son's steak was undercooked to his liking, he received a new one basically in the time it took our waitress to get to the kitchen and back. Reasonable priced for the quality of the food and a very rustic atmosphere. All in all worth the trip.
Went for an anniversary dinner the other night. I'm sorry to say that this was the worst restaurant I've ever been to. The food was so under cooked it made my husband and I sick. Everything tasted bland and the drinks were horrible. I'm honestly in disbelief from how bad the food was.
The waitress wasn't paying attention to anything we said. When she came to ask if we wanted take home boxes (because we hardly ate anything) I said no sorry this was horrible I don't want to take it home. She than asked if we wanted desert. I said no thank you. She made a joke saying we were too full for desert. The food made us unwell. So no I don't think she was listening at all. Because the few times we saw her and said something she barely acknowledge anything. We did get the one drink that was unbearable off our check but paid for everything else.
They were good at social distancing and this is the first time we have gone out since everything had shut down. I'm not one to complain and I don't like getting people in trouble at their jobs so we decided to leave as fast as we could. Fortunately we will never go back there again. It can be a funny anniversary memory about the horrible restaurant we went to.
The waitress was engaging and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was pleasant. It was a great evening out with family and friends.
Showed up 30 min early for our reservation and Checked in with the host. She had trouble locating my name and when she finally did, she gave us a 10 min estimated wait time. We let 15 mins pass and checked backed in and she tells us just a few more minutes. 15 more minutes pass and we watch about 8-10 different parties proceed to their table . Now the third time we check back in she totally forgets about us and inquiries if we had a reservation for outdoor or indoor! That was the third and final straw. The host at Gibbit Hill Grill was incompetent and made us feel unwelcomed, uncomfortable, and uneasy. We left the establishment and abandoned our reservation for the poor customer service and poor treatment .
This place was great eat! The owner was very friendly and great with kids! The food was fantastic as tic! The Pho was very good and so much to eat! Loved it!
Nice atmosphere, good food and wine. Wait staff very pleasant and world-class service. My first time but people I was with have been there multiple times. Enjoyable evening with good food and laughter.
Lovely location inside and out. Michelle was one of the best servers we have had in many years. She was friendly, informative, and attentive. Food is pricey but well prepared. There are some very unusual drinks available and I would love the chance to try many of them. This is mostly a steak house with a nice but smaller menu. Would return again.
High prices for normal average tasting food. The cocktails weren't that good either. I enjoyed For and Vine much better with their tasty food, great wine selection and modest prices.
Great dinner experience... the service was impeccable. The manager came to our table multiple times to address my wife's food allergy concerns. Must order the seasonal sides from the on site farm. Cant wait to go back!
Definitely one of the best restaurants in the Merrimack Valley. Unique atmosphere, delicious food, and knowledgeable staff. Sets the bar for what Farm to Table should be. If you're looking for not just food, but great food and a genuine New England experience, it would be hard to fine a better choice.
Very clean and welcoming restaurant. They serve large meals and for affordable rates. I enjoyed the food a lot and the staff were super amiable and explanatory. I recommend this place.
Food and serve is top notch. Beer and bar service is great. Nice romantic dinner or casual family dining. Only thing is the cost of food which is slightly high
Wonderful experience all around, prompt attentive service. Mussels were very flavorful, bone in aged serloin was absolutely delicious and elevated by the side of mushrooms. Can't say enough great things about the mac and cheese, beer list, and signature cocktails. Waitress was wonderful and the bartenders are pretty much superheroes with only two behind the bar and so much business !
