Warm and welcoming atmosphere is the first thing you'll notice when you walk in. The warm fireplace and warm smile greets you as you enter the large red barn and will continue throughout your delicious meal. Everything here is true farm to table and the quality is something you can taste. Whether the steak, soup, or shepherds pie(the best in my opinion) you will not be disappointed in the quality of food here or the abundance of the wine, beer, or cocktails. If you leave without dessert though, you truly do yourself a disservice.

My braised short rib topped with chimmichurri sauce over white corn & polenta was to die for, but my fiance's potato crusted salmon fell short on seasoning, and the waitress never brought the salt he asked for. Just wasn't very attentive for a such limited set of dine-in guests as the plague forces. Incredible decor, lighting, and I liked the atmosphere.
Do this, though: Order Pot de Creme for dessert: it's simple, and it's amazing. Order a "Wood & Teeth" cocktail. I will have 1-2 of the cocktail each visit.
Delicious food, attentive server. We had to wait an hour to sit because the hostess couldn't "find us" even though we were in front of her the entire time.
Great service, amazing food. All fresh, great quality, well cooked. Definitely high end food. The only difficulty I had was finding something I could eat on a limited diet, as their menu is short due to what they make being all farm fresh. But that's not a con, just my own limits. The sirloin steak tips were great, as well as the roast duck. I've yet to survive their great portion sizes enough to try their dessert menu. Some day.
The food at Gibbet Hill is amazing! Everything from veggies to meat is tasty and fresh. The restaurant has a very cozy feel as well. We drive over 30 minutes to eat here and it is well worth it.
I have been to this place multiple times over the last couple of years. It never disappointed me. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food tastes great and you will for sure find something to your liking. Make sure you have a reservation otherwise you wait quite a bit.
We came to this place for lunch. my friend recommended this place. Well, it was very nice. The staff welcomed us with a smile and we felt good. The meal was fresh and delicious. We had a great time and we will definitely return to this restaurant. Recommended.
Great food and great views! This place is worth the drive and is a true farm to table restaurant. Gibbett Hill is known for its steaks, so I got the fillet and my husband got the steak tips. Both were tender and cooked to perfection. All of the vegetables are grown at the farm and our cucumber salad was deliciously fresh. A scene from the 2019 Little Women was filmed here, and with good reason. The cows provide good entertainment, including a tan steer named Tony. Just don't think about him while you're enjoying your juicy burger!
Wow... Just wow! Make sure you get a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance (not joking), it's well worth it. Wife and I were married in the barn and part of the package is first anniversary dinner is free - we've been going there for our anniversary ever since. It's not cheap, but it's worth every penny. Farm fresh, local ingredients; the menu frequently changes based on the season. My ideal summer evening would be sitting in the converted grain silo with a group of friends, enjoying a great bottle of wine from the large selection (or 3... It's a big table in there!) and the view of the hill from which the restaurant gets its name. It would also include the farmhouse grilled cheese and dipping tomato soup appetizer .
The service is phenomenal, the interior is beautiful, and expanded bar area really adds quite a bit of on demand seating which was desperately needed!
Good food, good time. Sat under the tent for outdoor seating. All staff were very friendly and accommodating. No "harsh farm smell" considering we were feet from farm animals.
Worth every penny! What a beautiful, humble and delicious place to go. Our waitress Cara was one of the best waitress s we ve ever had, The restaurant is romantic, not too loud, and a great place to be for any special occasion. And MOST IMPORTANTLY, the food was absolutely without a doubt some of the best in Massachusetts, the steak is to die for and absolutely worth the money. The sides were all equally great tasting. Honestly we left this restaurant with no words. Now Be prepared, you will spend a good amount of money when you go, but you won t regret spending it. This is a must go restaurant and a place we will for sure be coming back too.
Excellent food in an upscale casual atmosphere with excellent service and selection. Everything is fresh, seasonal and local and we have enjoyed every dish we've ordered in our visits here. It is one of our favorite places to eat out and can not recommend this enough.
We ordered take out meals from Gibbet Hill for around 20 people for a socially distant wedding in my parents' backyard at the end of June and could not have been happier with the meal! The restaurant was very easy to work with in putting in this large order, and the food was absolutely delicious. Our families were very impressed with the quality of the food and everyone very much enjoyed their meal. Thank you Gibbet Hill for helping make our wedding happen for us!
I once LOVED this place, but have had hit or miss experiences since about 3 or 4 years ago. Their takeout is not a good time, so avoid unless you live nearby. I do hear they are doing picnic seating in their fields, which could be worth a look while the weather is still nice.
This review won t be like the others as our experience was very different from most everyone else. I do really hate writing negative review too. But...
The place is located in a stunning beautiful setting. A huge lawn that was plush and greener than green. People sat on the lawn drinking and eating and it look like great fun.
7 of us went there for dinner and they sat us in a tiny room barely comfortable for 4.
We waited and waited for our server to give us water and menus. When she finally showed up she informed us that we have to look at the menu on line. What if I left my phone in the car or ,God forbid, don t have one? It would have been nice if we were informed of this sooner.
When our meals were finally arrived sat there with no silverware for a few minutes. When the waitress came back we had to ask for silverware, Now that s a first for me even during this pandemic.
I guess this place is known for its steak and my wife got the steak. It was so tiny and over cooked. The mac and cheese that came with it was soupy and not appetizing to look at. My wife offered it to me and I tasted it. It was worse than the mac and cheese you get out of a box.
I ordered a Caesar salad and she brought me a salad with dill dressing. By this time I just ate it rather than wait for my original order. I just wanted to get out of there.
My wife and I ordered a desert to split. It was some cream desert that is really soupy pudding.
After dinner we walked around the grounds a bit and it is truly a beautiful place. I wish we ate on the lawn or at the BarBQ place right next door. They have a patio we could have eaten on.
Look, any place can have a bad day but this place needs to review their servers and the food being brought to customers.
Because of such a beautiful setting I truly wanted to like this place. The service and food didn t make that possible.
In 2005 I got married here. We keep coming back for the amazing food. We love this place. Choose anything off the menu but allow me to convince you to have the simple milk and cookies for dessert you won't be disappointed.
I have been visiting Gibbet Hill since I was a very young child, and they never disappoint. I have never had a bad experience here, and I will be returning soon.
We love this restaurant. Definitely get a reservation. The filet is amazing there's a delicious crust on it with pepper and other spices. Expensive but worth it. Great place for anniversary or special occasion. Great wine selection. I had the summer sangria to start with fresh mint and a flower. Delicious. Caesar salad is refreshing with fresh anchovies.
We loved the place very much! The food is very good, the atmosphere even better. A very nice surroundings with a short hiking trail. A FYI: "Little Women" 2019 was filmed at the nearby hill
Meals for 3 were ordered for pickup. From steak to brussel sprouts to lamb ragu to mushroom risotto plus salad and desserts all were excellent. Order was ready on time. A sure bet to repeat.
As always, a great experience at Gibbet Hill Grill. Love the expanded bar area and inventive cocktail menu. Great service, delicious food, beautiful rustic building.
Great meal every time - Gibbet never disappoints! The steaks are always delicious and tonight's Thanksgiving dinner was one of our best meals ever at this restaurant. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and the desserts are also excellent.
What a fun night! Hermes and Marco were VERY attentive and the food was awesome! The server checked back several times and was super helpful with the menu
Scenic location with a generously sized bar serving creative craft cocktails and an impressive wine list. We dined in the silo room, which is great for a small dinner party and has 180 degree view of the property. The menu had a good variety of offerings and many locally raised items. Service was friendly and knowledgeable.
Excellent choice. Came here on a cool winter evening. The lot was clear and safe walk to the restaurant. Staff is attentive and ready to answer any questions. The setting is open and inviting. Plenty of space to not feel cramped and part of your neighbors meal. Wait staff is confident and provides nice recommendations. The food was so good. The crab dip had plenty of crab. Steak cooked perfectly, everything was great.
Great drinks, food was fabulous, service was very friendly....bring a.wrap in case you sit under one of the fans, as I did...cold! Would return happily!
Very disappointed with food...wait staff was excellent..never going back...nothing I ordered was right....could have made a better meal at home....horrible dining experience...
Miserable experience on Sunday night. Our first course, the steamed mussels, were very undercooked, to the point of being nearly raw. Warm but raw mussels are not a treat. The waitress told us Thats just how we make them and offered no substitute or another set that was properly cooked. We eat mussels all the time, and honestly have never seen rare steamed mussels before. Then the steaks came. Both were supposed to be medium rare, and one was, but mine was absolutely raw. Considering on occasion I order my steaks rare, I have no problem eating a rare steak, but this was without a doubt actually raw. I cut the steak into pieces and saw it was raw throughout, and called the waitress over. A considerable amount of time passed, during which my husband ate his meal while I sat there. When my steak finally arrived, I am not kidding, they have throw my cut up steak pieces into a pan, cooked them past well done, and then gave them back to me! They must have been sitting for a while and were also absolutely cold. I didn t touch them, and the waitress just shrugged when I pointed out my steak nibbles were now beyond well done. She seemed surprised we didn t want to buy dessert as well. We spent about 100 dollars on a completely inedible, miserably prepared meal. No apollogies, no offer of a substitution, just the bill. They couldn t have cared less. I have no idea where the good reviews are coming from...probably friends and relatives. It really honestly doesn t get any worse. I went home and had crackers for dinner.
Spectacular restaurant. Service was impeccable. Great seasonal menu items. I was a bit disappointed with the Rib-Eye steak. It was very fatty. Had better @ Capital Grill, Mastro's & black & Blue Steak & Crab. Although fatty, it was cooked to my request.
Prior to even arriving I had a wonderful experience. I coordinated with Jackie letting her know that we were celebrating our honeymoon and we'd love a bottle of champagne waiting for us so I could surprise my husband. She also helped with the timing of the reservation of where our table would be. Upon arrival we felt like the staff were our good friends! The food was SO good but the service rivaled it! The entire experience was wonderful and we can't wait to return .
The food was really good and so was the service. The seared scallops were cooked perfectly, the braised short ribs were super soft and flavorful, my steak was cooked just the way I wanted it and the sides were delicious. We also had the Elderberry cheesecake which was really good.
The one thing that wasn't great was that our reservation was for 6:15 but we weren't seated until around 6:35. Not a huge deal, but I would prefer to be seated closer to when my reservation was for. (Especially since we cut other activities short to make sure we arrived 5 minutes prior to the reservation time)
Gibbet Hill was phenomenal! I got the steak tips with blue cheese butter and the 10 Year Punch. Absolutely amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly, and my drink was great!
