You can easily order online and pick up in store to avoid the line. Parking is not easy in Georgetown. Cupcakes hmm they are super sweet, like will give me teeth aches.....

Waited in line for 30 minutes to eat a mini cupcake that cost $3.50. The place was filthy, couldn t even sit down at a table.
Not recommended.
I had a Red Velvet cupcake... it was dry and slightly overdone but the cream cheese icing was phenomenal. Not $3 a piece phenomenal though.
They are so unproffecional, they give you wrong information when you call to place an order, they also asked you to leave a voice mail which according to the manager Alisson i guess was her name simpy say, they dont listen all call.... and when u try to explain you were missimform they only say, oh yes you can go online!
Went there the other day after a long bike ride all the way from the lincoln park. It was excellent, the employees were nice and friendly and the cupcakes were delicious, the only downside its a little expensive but it deserves 5 stars none the less!
These cupcakes are AMAZING!! They are also priced really well and have an incredible selection.
TOP LEFT: Chocolate Coconut
TOP RIGHT: Butterscotch (highly recommend)
BOTTOM LEFT: Keylime
The best Puncakes ever! If you pass by Georgetown you cannot miss this delight ..
Waited in a long line to pay $36 for a dozen cupcakes. By the time I got home on a cold winter day the ones that weren't eaten had completely melted. These cupcakes weren't the type you had to refrigerate either. Not happy at all.
Excited to try this place out. After long wait of 1 hr got to know that most of the cupcakes are sold out and only choc & vanilla left. Tried them tasty but dried out. I would recommend going on a weekday than weekend
Great place, first time here! Yummy cupcakes!! Came to Georgetown for the day and had to stop for some cupcakes!
I promised my husband I would share our experience after today s visit to Georgetown Cupcakes. The service was very poor. It was not that busy when we got there and after picking up our order we went to sit down only to find dirty tables available. We asked nicely if the tables could be cleaned off so we could sit down and the A T T I T U D E the young woman gave us with a snotty response that yes she could do that for us...was unreal. We waited and waited while she continued to put sticker on the little pink boxes...with no line by the way - she never bothered. We grabbed a less dirty table and ate our overpriced cupcakes. On the way out I stopped by the restroom only to find that in very poor condition ; no seat covers left, paper towels spilling over the trash and just overall dirty. We walked out and got a delicious cappuccino at Peet s across the street - with excellent customer service.
I looked over at Georgetown Cupcake and the table we had asked to be cleaned off was still not cleaned off....very sad...I ll never go back and will share my sentiments ...
Disappointed to say the least...
A smile, a friendly personality and look you in the eyes is basic customer service..
The best cupcakes we've had! These were received via mail order and they were excellent and enjoyed by all!
These cupcakes are amazing!!! Well worth the wait eve though I have to say it went very fast! The women working there are fast, efficient, nice and keep the line going!
They have a nice selection, they're right down the road to sprinkles. Some of there cakes were dry I don't like how they don't fill the whole cupcake with frosting makes it look a little sad and neglected. But overall their cupcakes and frosting are pretty good
Georgetown Cupcake specializes in gourmet cupcakes made on-site daily and variety of tasty flavors. This place also serving coffee.
Cupcakes look good, smell good, taste even better. Line goes out the door. Cute little shop.
I simply loved them. They were so different and delicious that i never tasted before.
Nice experience at this shop as always. Yes it could be very crowded and you have to wait outside, but it's worth it. You have a lot of choices of flavors and different packaging size are avalaible. If you visite the city it's a little bit outside the downtown area, but it's located in a really nice and high end area.
Pretty good just be prepared to stand in long lines
I didn't really get the hype until I managed to catch these during a quiet part of the day. Best cupcake I've ever had. Take it for what you will though as I'm not the biggest fan of cake.
Delicious (THE best cupcakes in DC!!) cupcakes, excellent customer service and perfect location!!!
Waited in line for about twenty minutes to see what the hype was about. There was a nice variety of cupcakes, but nothing incredibly original or out of the ordinary. Cupcakes were small, but a nicely dispersed light bake. We tried their two best sellers, the Red Velvet and the Chocolate2. Both good, but it would have been nice to see some more unique flavor options.
About 20 bucks for 6 cupcakes... not to mention at least a 15 minute wait outside before you can place an order and wait another 5 for them to pack it. Not worth it in my opinion - didn't find them much different than normal cupcakes - but then again I'm not a big fan of cupcakes.
Alright, I'll join the sea of reviews. Best cupcake ever! The cake is muffin soft, and the frosting is whipped cream fluffy, but isn't piled high (just the right amount). I got the Red White and Blue cupcake, and my husband got the Lemon Blossom. Both delicious. They make the cake, frosting, and decorations in house.
There's long lines on weekends, so go here on a weekend.
If I could give it 0 stars, I definitely would. By far one of the worst Georgetown cupcake experiences I've had.
I was visiting Washington D.C and wanted to visit Georgetown cupcake in hopes of being able to purchase a few cupcakes. Understanding there is a pandemic taking place at the moment, I called and checked online for operation hours. When calling, the automatic system stated Georgetown closed at 9:00 pm, it showed 9:00 pm online, as well. So I made my way over around 7:40pm. When I arrived, there was a woman standing outside who was very upset. She informed us that she drove all the way from Virginia and that the location was closed. There was one gentleman employee inside that ignored us and any questions we had. Not to mention, we spent $20 in a cab to get to Georgetown and $20 to get back to our hotel. Money wasted.
I sent an email to Georgetown cupcake explaining my experience and all they did was tell me they closed at 7pm, it's a pandemic and how they only do online preorders.
Cool... Understood. The following day, I tried placing a preorder online. It clearly states on the website that same day preorders must be received by 5:00pm. Fortunately, it was 2:00pm, so I tried placing an order. Nope, it wouldn't allow me to do so. I called three times...no answer. Since I was already in the area for brunch, I thought maybe their system was down, so I walked over to the location in Hope's of recieving help with ordering. We arrive to the location explaining to the employees that we weren't able to place orders online, and the told us they weren't doing same day orders. Once again, inconsistency with the ordering process.
There were so many customers that were upset and walked off the line, due to the information provided online and within the store.
We understand there's a pandemic going on. But this kind of customer service is terrible for business. It's an inconvenience to customer. Not only will they lose customers due to this behavior and carelessness, but you will lose your business.

People need to know what time you close BEFORE they arrive. Not when they get there and see it on the door.
Meh, it wasn't really worth the price for a small cupcake. There are some interesting flavors, but mostly I just hear people coming out saying "I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so good". Also I think they go deliberately slow to make sure there is a long line; how long does it really take to grab a pre-made cupcake and give it to the customer???
They got us through the line fairly quickly all things considered and the cupcakes were as tasty as everyone says.
Came back here for the first time in seven years during a visit to the DC area and had to get cupcakes! The cupcakes are amazing and they have a wide variety of flavors! The only downsides are the location is off a very busy road, there is usually always a line, but it goes by fast, the cupcakes are pricey (but they are worth it) and there is very little room to wait for your order or to eat. Overall, I highly recommend stopping by and get a dozen for $36 (+ tax), it s worth it every once in a while.
I thought they would be delicious! And not much sugar on top but nothing else, it was fluffy but the almost half hour it took us to get there was not worth it! I stay with those of my Peru ! Those are delicious
There may by a long wait to get inside but it is worth it! These were the best cupcakes ive ever ate in my entire life
Crazy huge selection of cupcakes...and they all looked delicious!!
Worth it! The line, if there is one, moves quickly and efficiently. Get more than one. You'll wish you did if you don't.
Woah the selection. Totally worth the wait. So cute of a place too.
I genuinely love this place. My favorite is the cookies and cream cheese cake and the coconut one! They are so goooooood.
If you are not lucky, there could be a long line even to outside of the store. And there are only 3-4 small tables in the store, so it's possible you to eat standing.
They changed my order pretty significantly, I reached out, and no one ever responded. The cupcakes are still a good product but when you pay $70 to ship something to someone, you want to sure it's the order you picked so that they'll like it. Pretty disappointed.
The icing was tasty the cupcakes are dry I could do better. Listened to people talk about the cupcakes was very disappointed.
One of things to do and try while you visit Georgetown, in Washington DC. The queue sometimes too long, but I think it worth the wait. I like its cupcakes and in my opinion less sweet than other 'famous' cupcakes around.
As seen on TV is an understatement. This little cupcake place is amazing and offers great desserts. It is on the more expensive side but it is well worth it given how famous this place and how many people visit it on a daily basis. It is a little crowded and goes into the street when busy. But it is well worth the long wait.
It is a small corner sometimes there is a row of 20 people who are on the street but they attend very fast, the price of a cupcake is at 3.50 USD they have more than 10 flavors.
While visiting DC visited this place and Baked & Wired. Don't waste your time in this long line for an overpriced, smaller, and bland cupcake. Half of what was on the daily menu was sold out and the employee who take my order got it completely wrong. If I ever come back to the DC area I won't be visiting this place.
Let me just say that I can sit here and eat an entire half dozen of these cupcakes by myself. They are so good and worth the $20 for 6 of them. The line is definitely crazy but it moves quick.
Delicious! beautiful and good cup cakes! a culinary experience not to be missed
When you in G.Town. get those cup cakes. Mad good!!
i love georgetown cupcakes, have ordered from them several times; however i placed an order online days in advance, only to get to the store and my order wasn't ready. my event was starting soon and i had to sit there and wait for them to get an order ready for me. wasn't offered a discount, apology...nothing! needless to say, i won't be back
A bit of a wait and aggressively priced but worth it if you ask me. Great cupcakes and very interesting choices.
This is the second time I've been to Georgetown Cupcake. The first time I went I had one of the best cupcakes I've ever tasted. It was a specialty cupcake something along the lines of a cheesecake cupcake. This time I ordered more traditional cupcakes, ie vanilla with buttercream frosting. The cupcakes were moist and the frosting was smooth and creamy.
Stop the madness! I have been here a number of times just because the hype is huge. i keep thinking it must be a bad day for them or I picked the wrong flavor. Nope! I've had it! The cupcakes are dense and stale (they must make a million of these in advance). The icing is dense (not fluffy) and overly rich. The white icing has a sour flavor. The cupcakes are small and don't even look that good! AND THE LINE! And the price!! The ambiance and service is nice but that's it.
Please note you have to order in advance to pick up. You can t drive there and just buy cupcakes - not clear on the website. So don t waste your time like I did!
Love there cupcakes, best cupcakes in dc, taste and creativity, don t forget they are moist. Great presentation. #1
Delicious cupckes. I like their products yet still wander about the everlasting queue outside the shop.
Suitable for American friends, too sweet, and every time I line up, my friends from outside, taste OK.
Not worth it at all the cupcakes are ok and the line is always long, go to baked and wired instead it s so much better.
Very fresh cupcakes, service was excellent. I recommend to anyone.
Cupcake shop had lines out the door and as people fled inside they were yelled at to go back into the rain. For being a future buyer of cupcakes I was shocked at the aggresive tone used.
On top of all of this the women checking me out was quite defensive about using samsung pay which even ended up working.
I've never been to such a highly reviewed place which such dry cupcakes and even came across as not wanting customers money. Overall just a wierd experience.
The greatest most decadent confection I've had the pleasure to eat.
Superb cupcakes very moist. I recommend the red velvet
The cupcakes are good, but not with the long waits. Lines seem especially long in the summer.
If you think the're is no better place for a cup cake you are wrong. The most incredinle cup cake I ever had in my life.
No doubt about it. Best cupcakes in town. I have been enjoying their cupcakes since their opening day.
The original store. Although it was a smaller store just across the side street, they served the best cupcakes I've ever had. Can get excessively crowded.
The best cupcake I have ever eaten in US!
I have had chocolate, red velvet, and cheese cupcake until now.
The cake is so sticky and soft. Also the cream is not sweet that much.
I love it :)
I have been a customer of Georgetown Cupcake for about 5 years and have always had a pleasant experience when I go into their bakery in Georgetown. Most recently, I placed a mail order of 3 dozen cupcakes that were mis-handled by UPS - arriving late and melted despite Georgetown Cupcake s perfect packaging. Georgetown Cupcake corrected the issue (that wasn t their fault) and re-shipped me cupcakes that arrived PERFECT! Thank you Georgetown Cupcake for correcting a problem and turning my order into another wonderful experience with your business!
really amazing cupcakes, the frosting is to die for. airy yet dense cupcaake itself...
Very tasty and addictive treats, good location and friendly staff. Would recommend to anyone.
