Great selection of cupcakes. I love the seasonal flavors like banana split and key lime. Usually a long line so be ready to stand outside for awhile before you re able to get in. Well worth the wait but I wouldn t go on a Saturday.

I have to admit, despite delicious and unique cupcakes, I was often down on GTC just because of the hype and the ridiculous line. Cue: our wedding disaster. We'd had 75 of their cupcakes delivered to our wedding reception which were accidentally smashed by our wedding coordinator. When it was discovered by my superhero Maid of Honor, friends sprung into action to replace the cupcakes...at 7pm on a SUNDAY. GTC didn't even bat an eye--they put everything else on hold in the shop while refilling our order immediately with what they had on hand. FOR. FREE. Customer service that goes above and beyond like this is almost unheard of these days, and they have earned my business for life!

Their cupcakes are okay, but definitely overhyped. For the quality, the price is a bit steep (but they need to pay their rent somehow).

Summary: Worth trying, but not as spectacular as everyone makes it seem.

These cupcakes are so good. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Georgetown. There is typically a long line, but it moves fast. Fun fact: the cheesecake cupcake has a delicious graham cracker crust at the bottom.

I had a vegan cupcake!
It tasted good.
You might want to try it once.
The lines were long, but they were all coffee makers.

Wasn't worth the wait. We waited 30 for average cupcakes. I had a chocolate frosted vanilla cake cupcake. The cake was dry and the frosting was okay. I have had much better cupcakes in Chicago. If you are ever there, go to Baker Boy's cupcakes or Sweet Mandy B's. They are SO much better. I could have made better cupcakes.

Visiting from out of state and someone recommended this place. They should really update their pick up information on their google page because I showed up and they were only fulfilling Uber Eats orders when it clearly states that they're doing into store orders.

The employees were helpful and quick. They were obviously used to dealing with crowds. We had to take our cupcakes to go because there is almost no place to sit. However, the cupcakes were delicious and the packaging was both cute and effective!

At first I was bemused to see 3 block long line up at this place. What could be that great about those cupcakes I thought! Ended up buying a dozen different cupcake flavors. There were still a couple dozen flavors left to choose from. And it was a Eureka moment when I took the first bite!

Short line on a Tuesday afternoon, so I thought I'd see if these were worth the hype. I ordered 1/2 dozen of varied flavors, picked up my box and headed home. When we opened the box, we saw that 3 of the 6 had been put in sideways, so the icing was messed up, and the 2 salted caramel must have been iced while warm becasue the icing had melted off to the side. The flavors were all pretty good (especially lavender tea cake), and the cake very moist, but the icings were a bit too sweet. So, all in all, OK, but if I had been buying them for guests, I would have been REALLY ticked, as 5 were so messed up. Unacceptable for a place with that kind of reputation.

The cupcakes are great! I'd say that if you're going for a plain flavor go somewhere else, but if you want to adventure and not have a typical tasting cupcake this is the place to be. It's worth the money if you're adventurous with your food

Icing was good, but the cake itself was very bland. It's an overrated store that's way more hyped due to it being on t.v. Also, the person who helped was not friendly. Smiling faces are a must when working in the cashier position; you're the face of the company, you're who people are interacting with.

I definitely love this place just went there today and got salted caramel and it was amazing would recommend to anyone. I would probably even fly from California to D.C just to get a taste of it

I was the first customer in the store on 3/4/18. I ordered a Red Velvet cupcake and was given a Chocolate Ganache one. Unfortunately since the four cupcakes we purchased were boxed and taped shut before being handed to us, I didn t realize I was given the wrong cupcake until I had already left the store.

Really poor customer service - didn't have online order ready, even though it was placed days in advance, and were out of some flavored when they finally (and extremely slowly) boxed up the order. Overrated and overpriced - avoid unless you like tourist traps

Always a good selection of cupcakes and rotating specials as well. Get here early on weekends and summers for no lines. I always get here around 10-10:30 am to start off my day in Georgetown.

Unless you're in a hurry to get diabetes I would recommend avoiding this place, cupcakes are painfully sweet. Cupcakes are tiny, yet the prices are not; and let's not speak about the oversized line in order to get some service. Overpriced, overhyped, and utterly dissapointing.

If you come on a weekend, beware of the parking. You have been warned! The line definitely moves quickly but I do recommend pre-ordering if you just want to grab your super delicious cupcakes and find a more quiet place to enjoy them either on your own or with that someone special. Did I mention that they are delicious! Like other premium cupcake locations, the variety of frosting and soft cake definitely make this a place to go to if you're in the area.

This place did not disappoint. I ordered the red velvet and chocolate s'mores cheesecake cupcakes. The chocolate was a little too heavy for my tastes, but that's just a preference. The red velvet was divine, light and fluffy, I loved it.

I waked in right before a crowd started to form, so my wait was only one or two people. The prices are high ($3.50/cupcake or $18/half dozen). I ordered a half dozen and found it helpful to write down my choices to show to the clerk rather than trying to remember what I wanted. She seemed to appreciate that. My order was filled, boxed, and ready to go much more quickly than I was expecting.

There are an impressive variety of flavors available, and all of the cupcakes are attractively decorated.

I ordered the following flavors, though there were plenty more:
Chocolate salted caramel
Peanut butter fudge
Red velvet
Chocolate ganache
Black and white
Unicorn (birthday cake with purple frosting and white chocolate unicorn)

I wish the chocolate ganache had had more ganache, but the cupcakes were moist, flavorful, and well thought out. The peanut butter frosting had a strong peanut butter flavor while maintaining a light frosting texture.

We were able to cut the cupcakes into fourths to sample flavors among several people. Six cupcakes were enough dessert for about as many people.

I personally LOVE Georgetown cupcakes, but sometimes the staff can be a little cold. They are always accurate and willing to help, just sometimes they aren't as warm as in other retailers.

Pretty efficient but there was a line. Took about 5 minutes to get thru. Not much seating so expect to take them to go. There were lots of flavors. Were they beautiful? YES. Were they the best ever? NO. They are a little small and a bit dry. Yummy but not killer.

On the way to Marin Headlands, we wanted to have coffee and pastries. This place is a perfect location and offering both coffee (Peet's) and pastries. We got melon pan, taro custard pan, fruit tart, custard tart, chocolate pan, cream cheese pan. All, literally all delicious and they are cheap and authentic. Especially their tarts are so good!

Tasty cupcakes. They made a special Cherry Blossom Festival cupcake that was outstanding. Their chocolate cupcake was good but didn't hold a candle to the Cherry - and I am a chocoholic.

Finally NO LINE.... arrived early and finally went only because there was no line. the place is really small but cute. Will go back only when the line is short. not worth standing in line forever.
