Unfriendly staff at the counter and bar. Booked months in advance for a large group and upon arrival they knew nothing, regardless of the confirmation e-mail. Only got 1 towel for 3 days, paid for late checkout and yet we were sent out of the room by the housekeeping. Breakfast was ok but not spectacular. The room has not been cleaned in the meantime and the sink was still dirty from the previous residents. Roommate found a bracelet from previous lodges in her bed. Already seen better generator hostels.

You know that you are in a hostel and that everything is accordingly. Rooms in itself fine, just a bit stuffy and no air conditioning, just a tilt window for airing. But if that is open you will suffer from street noise 24/7. On the other hand, you will not be bothered by other guests, eg in the hallway, thanks to heavy doors. Experienced differently in expensive hotels.
Bathroom small but adequate. Beds good. Room clean. No TV or WIFI.
Staff friendly. Ambiance is internationally youthful. Nice.
Location is perfect in relation to the center and station. Other way to a lesser area but no burden.
Overall good value for money.

At 38, I probably fall a little outside the target group, but the place works fine for me. Cute and friendly staff, maybe a little on the impersonal side, and sensible rooms. Each guest has a box / box under the beds to store luggage or simply valuables. Bring a padlock and the box can be locked. The beds are comfortable and you almost sleep in a small cave (in the lower bunk). Only minus must be the bath / toilet facilities. The shower and toilet are separate in their own little plastic box, where an adult can badly turn on himself without the fear of being stuck.

It is right across from Hamburg Central Station. In general it is very good with very friendly employees. The only negative note is the excessively small size of showers and toilets inside the rooms.

A cheap hostel, if one takes into account the costs of the city of Hamburg. The cleanliness is still that of a hostel. Compared to some I have been in, I still remember one in London where the stink of feet mingled with the stench of feet, is the house of master lindo. The staff to be German, comes to be almost expansive. They are still very correct, like real Germans, and solve problems in a short time.

Good quality hostel: has all the comforts, bar, comfortable bed, cleanliness, security. Excellent location. The sink in the room is too small to wash your face. Staff ok apart from a barman who appears to be surly (only apparently, all the staff was great during the whole stay!).

Value for money FLOP. The bathroom looks like a Baustellenklo, the passenger elevator is a joke, the mirror in a WOMEN room is tiny and poorly lit and it is incredibly dirty. NEVER AGAIN!!!

Good and cheap

Functionally furnished hostel. Multi-bed room. Decent breakfast. In the restaurant there is a small menu with pizza, burgers, currywurst etc. It was very tasty. Here is one of the cheapest places to stay in Hamburg

I had a single room right next to a fire door. The shock that came with automatically closing this door was so intense that I could clearly feel it physically. A restful sleep was out of the question. Another room could not be made available to me, but an employee admitted that this problem was known. It is an impertinence, that such a room is offered. Incredible!

The staff is very friendly and helpfull, the only issue I had was the bathroom which was really small. I banged my arms everywhere.
The hotel is very close to the station and to many restaurants.

Close to the main train station, easy to walk to with a suitcase, but difficult for families
Breakfast has to be paid in cash in advance. 7.50 for rolls from the freezer, rolls of sausage and cheese only one kind
The service in the restaurant was more than unfriendly
It was bearable for one night
Clean rooms, Anja the cleaner wasn't very thorough
The ambience is suitable for young people and backpackers

Comfy bed. Small toilet. Separate bathroom and also small. Receptionist is very slow based on my 2 days stay. Manual filling up of guest information form. You can't leave bags for free. They have a baggage cabinet which 4 euro for 24 hours. Location is great. Close to flixbus and haupbanhof sud.

"A hotel that felt like it was a generator"

+ Close to the central station, the interior is modern
The lobby was also very spacious. Breakfast was okay too.
I thought it was okay to spend time at the hostel~

-The shower room was narrow, and it would be better if there were curtains in the dormitory. It wasn't very kind.
I hope there is curtain in the dormitory room

Nice staff. The place smells of filling and misery. Does not have kitchen. It was dirty on the walls and the toilet was cramped and disgusting. The room I stayed in stank and I finally couldn't bear to be in there. Outside the building there were many full people and gangs. Didn't feel safe and was glad I only booked one night. The hostel has a bar where they play loud party music.

If you are looking for a hotel room, you should refrain from a double room in this hostel.
1. The high price is not nearly justified in view of the room size and facilities.
2. Get separate beds without being asked.
3. The beds do not have a headboard, the pillow goes over the top of the bed all night long.
4. The heavy doors of the directly adjacent multi-bed rooms are slammed all night, with the walls vibrating each time.
5. The mini plastic cubicle that the bathroom is supposed to represent is simply not appropriate for the prices.

Conclusion: comfort zero, been up half the night, the 100 was really given away.

It was ok enough. I was in the context of my graduation trip in the generator hostel and must say that the beds are very neglected, there are no shelves for various items, the bathrooms are very small and, half board, thanks, you can not get a second helping with dinner. My opinion: in an emergency (or school trips) it's actually. But private less recommendable.

At first glance, the hotel / hostel looks very friendly and modern in the entrance area, but you are informed directly at the door that it is forbidden to bring food or drinks, in order of course to sell your own drinks or food at completely overpriced prices.
If I pay over 100 euros for a double room for a single night, I expect a certain standard.
At first glance, the room is reminiscent of a youth hostel with two single beds, a small wardrobe and a small table.
The bathroom is similar to the bathroom of a caravan, you can only turn in it once and everything and the floor are made of plastic.
Breakfast is charged at 6.50 per person and only includes 2 types of baked rolls, muesli, 3 types of cold cuts and a few jams. There is also filter coffee, there is no service, so it is similar to a youth hostel again, where you have to sort your dishes yourself after breakfast.
For a better breakfast you have to pay extra.
Since we arrived early, we wanted to store our luggage in order to be able to do something until the check in company, for this we will charge another 4 euros for a locker that you have for 6 hours.
The room was quite dusty in the corners and the white walls were dirty.
All in all, it is enough to spend a night there, but when you have to pay that much money, I expect far more service!

Fails the most basic requirement as a place to sleep in summer, an inadequate ventilation system that doesn't operate at night means rooms floor 4 and above (at least) are a sauna. The only saving grace is a hidden sleeping area in the chill zone that stays cool till morning. Letting down the Generator brand. Oh yeah, BYO towel!

The hostel is very small and in a room for 4 people almost does not even fit into the bathroom or shower. If you go outside from 20:00 clock you can expect that you come back without things. Too many junkies at the main station!

The rooms are very nice (at least the one I stayed in), getting in and out of the building is easy and the help desk is always manned. I didn't give it five stars because during my stay one of the two elevators were broken. Which meant you could max fit four people in at a time.

Inexpensive, very friendly and easygoing staff, is ok for the night. Breakfast for 5 Eurobucks is a bit "poor", that works better ... If I miss again in this crazy HH, I will certainly stay there again.

We stayed for 3 nights in an 8 bed room. Showers and toilet very small and cramped, but each bed with its own outlet and light. However, it is very very tight in the rooms. But otherwise the bar is very chilly and the hostel is relatively clean. You can not expect 5-star hotel for the price

Slammed my head on the shelf while taking a shower; they are a little small for a giant guy like me. Other than that, clean sheets, linen and secure vibe.

Also, decent rates for such a amenity filled hostel.

The price is good and the location couldn't be any more convenient, placed right next to the main train station, you have access to the entire city within 15 to 20 minutes.

The staff offers good service and since I don't speak any German it was nice that everyone working there spoke perfect English.

Be aware that 99% of the guests here are young people that are in Hamburg to party, so if you're looking for a quiet couples retreat, this probably isn't the place for you.

A hostel can hardly be more central. In my 8-bed room, each bed had a power outlet and two USB jacks, as well as a reading light. Shower and toilet are in the room available, but not very large. But you can not expect more for the price.

Small but modern rooms, the bathroom is quite small and the shower does not have good water pressure, the television in the room did not work properly.

The hotel has a bar on the ground floor, lockers are also available.

The staff is very friendly and the hotel services are good. The. WI-FI is very fast and easy to connect.

I was stuck in Hamburg for one night because I missed a train connection. The location of the hostel can not be beat in this regard, it's across the street from the central station. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and the bunks were sturdy and comfortable for a hostel. The WiFi had good signal in the rooms, and each bunk had a power outlet and a personal light.
