Gardens Hotels and Residences Review

Strategic located hotel, after refurbished still look outdated.

This is a 5 star hotel with 1 star service. Definitely avoid during busy periods!
Our room wasn't ready when we checked in at 3 pm. Their excuse was they couldn't prepare the rooms as the hotel was fully booked the night before (!!).
They couldn't even estimate when it'll be ready - they will call.

When there was no call 2 hours later i called. There was still no room and no idea when it'll be ready. After being on hold for 5 minutes, i gave up.

At the end we went back to try and could check in at 9 pm, 7 hours after the official check in time! By that time the pool was closed - one of our reasons for picking the hotel and wanting to check in early.

And to make up they offered a free bed for the 2nd night. Plus an upgrade if we're brave enough to stay here next time.

I've never experienced such poor service in a 5 star hotel.
I think the reception staff need proper basic training such as how to listen to customers and deal with issues.

Love the interior design and the colors. Well maintained. Very convenient as there are self-service washing and drying facilities. Customer service is commendable. The Gardens, great five-star hotel.

The hotel is about 10 years old and has lots of location and shops nearby.
Fitness, great breakfast

Pretty chill place but it's a little away from the city centre and it's annoying to keep taking cabs to the city centre. Try not to take the cabs that are lined up outside, if you are new to the city use grab to commute around. The hotel is spacious, the food is alright and the rooms are very good. The only downside during my stay was the hotel was pretty deserted and I hardly spotted people but magically there were people during breakfast.

Room very nice, staffs very friendly just the foods varities and taste need to be improved.

Room is spacious & sparkling clean. Service is excellent from check in , breakfast to check out.

The location is great for out of towner as it is conveniently located at the Garden and Mid Valley mall - there are plenty of shops, restaurants etc.

Amazing hotel with the best staff! The breakfast buffet is heavenly!

Good hotel on top of the mall. Easy to reach. You can walk directly into the mall from the hotel lobby this means you can also reach MidValley Megamall by foot and without going outside. KTM and LRT stations nearby as well. Rooms are large, clean, have good aircon and a lovely 'rain' shower.

St Giles The Gardens is situated at Mid Valley, Kuala Lumpur. The hotel is really split into 2 parts, the hotel and the residences.

Family stayed at the Residences to accommodate the number of folks. Booked directly from the hotel website - the site itself does little to illustrate the room which made us guess a little, but overall general score gave us courage to proceed.

One important point, which we missed, mainly due to our fault rather than the hotel was there are 2 separate receptions. So if you, like us booked at the residences, you will need to go to the residences to check in. However, if you want to do valet parking, then you will need to return to the hotel to use it's service.

Quality of service was generally quite good. The limited staff we interacted with were efficient and fast to get things done. Since staff was limited, there are some times where you will need to wait.

The room itself was dated. Things were clean and maintained, but it could not shake the slightly oldish wooden resort feel of the 90s in Malaysia. That being said, if you are not too picky and using it for a family stay the space is pretty large within the bedroom and the hall.
There is even a balcony with garden furniture for folks who want to chill looking out into the KL Skyline.

We did not get to use any of the facilities due to our pretty hectic schedule.

Our kids liked the beds and I generally think if kids endorse something, it is either really good or really weird.

Not a bad stay overall, furniture & deco could do with some updating, but it did come loaded with a very usable kitchen and nice location connected to the mall.

Beautifully designed, one of the best hotel in town. Directly attached to the Gardens Mall and accessible to many eatery and shopping

Good value for money, downstairs is the oversized Mid Valley, very good vacation and business options

Extremely disorganised n unprofessionally managed..checked in at 3pm but only managed to get into our apartment at 9.31pm and still waiting for one more apartment still not ready..

Gardens hotel is strategically located connecting to Gardens Mall. Gardens Mall is then connected to Midvalley Mega Mall. Btw, KL Eco City is also connected via an aero bridge from Midvalley Mall. To put it simply, the hotel is damn convenient for pretty much everything. It's a food and retail therapy haven. If you are into movies, well they have the Gold Class GSC in Gardens mall. I like their 6th level 24 hour dining. Where I can always chill there at any time of the day with friends or myself while contemplating about the universe. The staffs especially are friendly and very attentive.

No parking reservation for hotel guest. So disappointed and we have to spend around 1 hour to search for the parking

Situated right on top of a shopping mall. Superb and friendly staff, room was clean and spacious. However, traffic in the area can get extremely congested. Prepare 60 mins of travel to the airport during non peak periods, and 120 mins of travel during off peak periods

E rooms r looking very tired and old. For e price we paid n e branding of 5*, we expected better. It's abt time e hotel did some upgradings. E carpets in e rooms r also very filthy n so r e couches. My kids sat on e carpet to play n had bug bites. We stayed in e 2 bedroom apartment.

Staying there for a 3D2N stay. Location wise, it is really good. However, the hotel carpet is quite a disgraced to me. It looks aged and very dusty. For parking wise, it is very hard to get a lot. And chargeable. RM5 per entry.

Convenient location in Kuala Lumpur. Rooms are big and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful.

This place where my family & I stayed for a short break is absolutely so convenient.....just a 5 minute walk from 2 exciting shopping, malls, where there are plentiful Halal food .....It's a foodie's paradise.

Something that is still lacking is the breakfast food selection isn't that much for a 5 star hotel, and the tv channel selection is still lacking AND still in analog, no HD.

There is nothing I can think of to hate this place! BUT good praises...

While not exactly near KL station, the place is pretty well stocked with F&Bs and other shops. Room is decent.

The hotel is right at the shopping malls. The room is clean, environment are quiet and cosy. Highly recommended.

The hotel was good. But the carpark was a disaster. They shared the same parking space with Mid Valley Megamall and The Gardens. If you're coming to the hotel for the first time, park at Zone B, go the ground floor, get outside of the building to find the lobby of the hotel next to the Dome.

Outdated, old and musky rooms. Everyone in the group got allergies from the poorly kept rooms. Dust everywhere, carpets looked 20 yrs old

One of the most convenient locations to stay in KL. There is a huge mall connected to the hotel. Definitely my favourite!

Aircond fan speed can't be adjusted. Too cold at night.

A place to shop for upmarket branded items. But i like to go there because of 2 things: good gym (fitness first) and good cinema (GSC signature)

Great room, gym, great view from hotel room and gym. Only thing is didn't get the chance to try their breakfast buffet.

Overall is a nice and clean hotel. A little pricey among the 3 hotels located here. This hotel is connected to The Gardens shopping complex. The staff is friendly. The rooms and toilets are clean and tidy.

The service guy has poor command in english and gave you quite alot of attitude + bad breath

A generous sized room with an excellent bathroom. Very attentive and friendly staff. The breakfast buffet is amazing, with a huge variety of food available. I particularly liked the on-demand omelettes :-)

There is a handy door giving direct access to the Gardens Mall (and, hence, the Megamall next door). Once you've arrived, you may not need to go outside until the end of your stay :-)

All in all, an excellent hotel which I'm very happy to recommend.

The hair dryer they replaced in the bathroom was pretty useless as it didn't blow warm or hot air. Bring your own! I never made any complaints to my previous stays with them. However, this time some hygiene issues bugged me till I had to invite the duty manager up to my room for inspection. I accidentally dropped the edge of my bathrobe into the toilet bowl while I was using it. Hence, I threw it inside the bathtub for the room attendant to collect for laundry. When I came back to my room late at night, I saw a nicely folded bathrobe on my bed. So I put it on after shower. To my big surprise, I suddenly felt the bathrobe was a little damped and guess what, it smelled urine! Gosh, the room attendant folded the old wet bathrobe back and placed on my bed without even replacing one! What's happened to the recent Gardens Hotel's 5-star standard? Ignorance of the management or underpaid employees?
