Comfortable, pretty and relaxing.

Comfortable, pretty and relaxing.

The views are lush and tropical. The food is tasty and plentiful.

While the Gamboa Rainforest Resort isn't luxurious, it's certain a satisfying and fun to visit, with lots of nature and wildlife nearby.

A place with charm and authentic atmosphere of the thirties from which it comes. The main building is very spacious, with a lot of glass and through its construction taking full advantage of its position - it is built inside the hillside and has a floor in the front and four floors in the back. I loved it so much!

Great location on Chagres River. 45 minutes from Panama City. $20 Uber. Nice rooms but insufficient towels, one coffee pod.
Tours are sub-par, they don't run at sunrise or sunset when animals are active. Apparently, no staff available for whole season! One tour asks us to be quiet but screaming zip-liners constantly disturbing! Swimming pool closes at dusk, why?
Isolated location and not walkable so unless you have vehicle, you must rely on expensive and badly run hotel tours.

We really loved the nature tours, the pool and the wonderful views. Universally the tour and concierge employees were knowledgeable and pleasant. The hotel is a fantastically clean and modern facility. Two of the restaurants were closed while we were there, and the remaining options were mediocre at best. The food situation definitely needs work. Time to hire a restaurant in Casco Viejo to fix your menus.

This time I sat in the Sports Bar, inside the hotel.
They spent 15 minutes without even receiving attention, we asked for the letter and they ignored us. While it is true, was somewhat full (there were still tables available), I had to get up to find my own letter just to leave. It really is not worth it in any way.

A nice resort in a very beautiful location! Some of the amenities could do with updating, but overall a really enjoyable experience. We spotted toucans from our balcony, and a whole host of other birds and butterflies. The views out over the river are simply stunning! The food options could be better in the monkey bar, but the buffet was much better and had a great variety! They offer some really good paid tours, such as boat trips, canopy tours in a cable car, sloth sanctuary visits, butterfly house and good gift shop in both the resort 'Zoovenir' shop, and the one at the sloth sanctuary. They also provide a complimentary 'night safari' for guests. There was live music in the monkey bar (Saturday when we stayed). They also had a movie playing, in a cinema style room on the social area level. My suggestion is the resort could do with a vending machine for night time snack purchases, as both shops close at 5pm. The pool area could do with closer bathrooms too. Overall, I would recommend this place for a hotel stay out of the ordinary, the location is perfect! In spite of some things that could be better, it really is a beautiful place!

If you go here expect to get damp/wet so bring a waterproof mac, if you don't need it good but better looking at it than for it. The trip into the forest in the cable car is a bit primitive but great way to see the rain forest . Rgerez a short walk to the look out platform and a big of a hike up it, see photos, but there are chairs every so often and the view of the Panama canal from the top is well worth it, give it a go

Great snacks within reasonable prices at the resort bar. Some times really packed with kids and waiters can get overwhelmed and slow. Restrooms in the lobby are accesible and allow for a quick beak from heat. Free WiFi is available to route your trip in case traveling from other country. Nice views from the lower floors to the canal.

An amazing experience to see and be at. I saw negative reviews about service and amenities, but seriously know where you are going. You are in the rain forest and still you have unbelievable amenities and more importantly and experience that most people will never have. The animals and environment is something I only saw on the television until coming here.

And for the folks that say the service is slow, well it is that way in all of Panama. I actually like it, the Panamanians know how to not rush. Remember, you as an outsider are in their world, time to adjust.

I can't say anything negative about the resort or area, I wish I could stay longer and experience more.

Hotel is clean, view is stunning. We arrived well before check in and spent a few hours at the pool despite this we received no help with our baggage, where given the wrong room and had to go back to check in, still no assistant with baggage. We where not told about the free night tour until we meet a grounds keeper. When we went to the lobby for the tour we where told it was booked, so no tour plus we missed the last tour to the sloth sanctuary due to the mix-up with the room.
Food was good, service in the restaurant was great, veiw is stunning, check in staff are far from adiquite.

Your place is full of unprofessional rookies who do not have any idea of SERVICE. .i will never suggest this horrible place to anybody. First ask employees to get off from their cell phones, listen and act professionally. talk slow so that people can understand.
An emplyee Astrid, what a loke??

Magnificent setting, beautiful hotel, wonderful and gracious country. Management needs to provide staff with better training, adequate supplies for guests, maintenance budget. Issues reported to front desk, no follow through (with coffee, towels, room maintenance, etc. multiple times with several in our group) Service SLOW and disorganized in restaurant and bar.

Quiet, beautiful rainforest view. Hiking trails closeby. Sloth rehabilitation center and night hike tours available. Orchid nursery was lovely. Great if you're looking for something different.

Embarrassing his attitude. We were offered as an activity outside the Resort visiting Isla Grande, for $ 45 / person, supposedly all-inclusive (except food). Upon arrival we found, first, having to pay for the More

A place worth visiting, even for the day. In this place you can have lunch watching crocodiles and take trips through the jungle and Gatun Lake. We recommend the boat trip to the island of monkeys where you can feed small apes.

A lovely resort, beautifully situated with a stunning view. The pool is also nice. The only thing thst needs some work done is the client service, there were just some smaller things like long wait times at the restaurant and things that were not in the room and had to be ordered.

Hotel resort in the middle of the rainforest. Nice area, rooms are very large with balcony. Dinner is served as a buffet, very tasty, but also very expensive. Since there is no other hotel anywhere, you can of course call up these prices; No competition. But calling for $ 18 for breakfast and $ 26.50 for dinner is pretty tough and unfortunately not worth the price.

The place is no longer the same, they dropped quality when they became all included. The location is 5 stars. I expedited to check very poor. They lowered the investment in maintenance. It is still a special place because of the location. There are no garbage cans / trash cans to sort. They give bottles of water and accumulate a lot of plastic. Room 7/10, the best is the landscape and location in the tropical jungle of the place.
