This place is terrible. Poor service, very old resort, food is not good. Its all inclusive resort but I had to pay for a lot of things. I arrived at midnight not food was given and I had to pay for dinners. I had a bad experience with this resort and this place worth only 1 star. Do your self a favor and stay away from this place.

Amazing place to spend a nice different day. pool, food, and various outdoor experiences that goes from an aerial tram with a 10 stories watching tower over the tropical rainforests, lake Gatun and the Panama Canal.
There is also an animal sanctuary dedicated to sloths, butterflies and frogs. Very simple but a good plan for all the family.
Fun fact: this place can give you the feels of the original Jurassic Park series, the building is very 90s tropical resort vibe.
The place is grsnde, with a lot of nature, a lot of potential to make a weekend something different, the food is not something that is super, it's fine, nothing charming but passable, the hotel in general is something old, the rooms are not They were completely clean, there was dust on the appliances, the light switches were dirty.
An old establishment that needs a refresh. Exteriors not very well maintained. Staff little involved ... we are disappointed with this place yet promising!
Overall a very positive experience. I have noted the reviews on the hotel being dated. However, the idea is to enjoy nature and one can t fault the hotel offering on that. Magnificent nature all around. Service is good and the staff are friendly. Room is comfortable. I would definitely stay again and was satisfied with all aspects of it.
The resort is very good. Not 5star but very clean and everyone is friendly. Rooms are good size and well kept. Various tours available some free and some for a price. Food is very good mostly buffet style with minor variety changes each day. The location is quiet and piece full. Pool is large and swim up bar is nice. Recommend it to relax and probably about 3 to 4 day is enough to see and do everything they have to offer.
The jungle closer to the city. Excellent place to get away from the city. Good walks in the jungle. Recommended Attractions: Hiking, Butterfly, Orchid, Teleferico, Swimming pool. There are no michas options for breakfast, but several for dinner. Take advantage of visiting it with a Simple Offer.
Beautiful place and good building with history. The tranquility is absolute and the environment is lovely. I recommend it. Ideal for hiking. The hotel offers several interesting visits.
Beautiful place with tonnes to do on the grounds and in the area. Lovely setting among the rainforest, on a river, and so close to the main canal. Lots of wildlife and birds to be seen.
fabulous resort in the rainforest. great nature walk. going on the nighttime safari tonight. The pools look beautiful. we have been to busy to use them. excellent buffets.only downside, you must ask for washcloths. they don't routinely stock them
Impeccable service. Fantastic place not to be missed. Nice rooms but a bit pricey. The ideal is to come and eat for lunch at the bar. Having said that the food in the restaurant is very good. Organized tours are not worth it though.
I loved this place, there are many attractions to visit such as the butterfly farm, the sloth reserve, orchid laboratory, cable car and so on. A place for nature lovers.
The hotel and restaurant is in good condition and has great views and views of the rain forest.
What a great resort. Perfect escape to the rainforest! So much to do - so much to see! We climbed the tower, visited the orchid farm, went fishing, hung with monkeys - we genuinely couldn't ask for more. It was a great way to visit Panama.
I asked for an early check in a en when I arrived I was told I would have to wait 3 hours even though the hotel had lots of rooms available. I decided to cancdl.on the spot and was told it would be ok, only to find out that they never cancelled the room and I'm still getting charged for it. Horrible experience.
Extremely nice situated in the rainforest - beautiful nature, views and lots of things to discover such as the cable car (Gamboa Aerial Tram) through the jungle (met a harmless baby snake) with top of the hill viewing platform. The location is truly amazing. It gets completely dark at nighttime and it's stunnig staying in your hammock listening to all the 'wild' noises coming out of the dark. At sunrise it's all foggy, but the whole steam is disappearing fast as the sun gets stronger. Lush, tropical setting.
The place has a 40 year license (ground belongs to gov.) - 22 more years to go and therefore the resort needs much better maintenance in various aspects. I had to change the room, due to defective A/C that was producing awful noise. Some lamps didn't work. The pool size is great, but the pool bar was never attended, no pool towels. Some staff is not trained very well. The breakfast did not correspond at all with the published pictures. No overboarding buffets and very limited food selection, but very good and nicely presented, but just one restaurant open, all others closed.
The tennis court is completely rotten (even visible from Google Earth), holes on floor pavement at pool area, some parts of the resort look deserted (no relax chairs on the upper pool terrace, closed restaurants, empty spaces, max. a handful people. The rooms need a general makeover (poor furniture).
For the actual condition I would give a 3+. To reach 4-5 stars they need to improve and renovate on a larger scale. But I would come here again because of the beautiful nature and there's no other option/competitor and of course we can not expect first world amenities - which I also don't mind travelling in less developped countries.
What I really don't understand on some reviews here - people complaining about humidity in the rainforest...
For nature lovers it's a must see and I truly can recommend it!
Wonderful. Pure jungle. I recommend getting on the cable car. They organize it from the hotel and go by boat through the channel where they see capuchin monkeys, howlers, toucans, eagles, sloths ......
Close to the city for distraction from everyday life. Wide menu option. Clean bathrooms, good service. Ice cream shop. Swimming pools Spa available. Parking lots. Option for lodgings, different tours. Access to branches, elevator. Bilingual
As part of a trip to Panama, we spent one night at this resort.
The location is incredible and offers a beautiful view of the surrounding vegetation.
The rooms are a bit dated but quite satisfactory, completely clean and above all with a very good quality of bedding. The breakfast on site is really good.
We took the boat tour to discover the flora and fauna of the Panama Canal, an experience that really does.
The only problem that deserves a star less comes from a bad experience at the Resort's restaurant located in the Marina: while we were eating while enjoying a beautiful view, as well as the animals below, a client started to throw food to feed wild animals. The restaurant is not responsible for its behavior, but when we ask the staff if it is normal, the waiter answers us that the customers must be happy because they pay ... It is not very logical from a Resort that promotes eco-friendly and has a refuge for the lazy. After going back to the hotel management, I was confirmed that staff awareness will be done. It would still be preferable to display signs prohibiting and sanctioning the practice!
We took the sloth tour which included the orchids garden, frog and butterfly exhibit. The staff was amazing but I would recommend that they expand the sloth exhibition and clean up the frog exhibit.
Rooms are old and outdated, smell humidity, but prices are expensive. The resort is big, but lacks customer service. They also offer tours, but their tours are very expensive and offer low value for your money. Their guides barely speak an understandable English and they look fed up. For the rainforest activities, get a private tour from a private provider, don't do the group tours from the hotel.
I went for a pass and after paying it they told us of a series of restrictions for being retired. At lunchtime the meats took time and we had to make a long line. When they asked for a cold water and a low quality tea, the spoon came with food scraps. The facilities in general are neglected, the swimming pools smell horrible. In general, the price-quality ratio is very bad ...
A sample of the tropical paradise that is Panama. Perfect combination of natural environment with excellent facilities. The attention of the staff in the hotel is very good
It is nice to appreciate the lifestyle of previous decades and also, the exuberant nature. The maintenance of the facilities and the impressive wooden furniture, as well as the magnificent work in iron, can be improved, as it is worth looking at them in all their splendor. Despite this, the place is cozy, with beautiful views and very friendly staff
Great service, the staff are so helpful and knowledgeable. We didn't stay at the hotel but the lobby was beautiful, the property was clean and nice. I would definitely come back and stay for a night or two
This is a brilliant place to visit. The tours are amazing and the rooms are really comfortable. The only reason it is not 5 stars is because service in the restaurant at breakfast and the bar is really really slow. Also some of the electric sockets in my room didn't work and although there were 4 people staying in the room: towels, toiletries and coffee was only left for one person. The wifi is good and the resort itself is really beautiful and peaceful.
Undermaintained old and much of it reaks of mildew and musk. This place gives off the impression of the headquarters of colonialist domination 200 years prior. Has a beautiful view of the canal lake/river and the Panamanian rainforest. Service is generally slacking and slow.
Gamboa hotel 4 * on jungle Great service Room perfect I love it swimming pool Food all inclusive so good Acces to beach by shuttle Hotel offer tour amazing Vamos Panama recuerdo Hoteles Gamboa Gracias
A unique place to get away from the city and get close to the beautiful panoramic nature of river and jungle with a wide and crystal clear pool the attention of the staff is not the best but acceptable. If you want to spend a different time with exotic animals very close to you this is the place. They have a cable car with a spectacular view of the Panama Canal with its impressive boats within walking distance
If you like to be in touch with nature, this hotel will love it. It has several activities by land and water, both day and night. The restaurants their food is delicious. The rooms are super spacious and also have a hammock on the balcony with a beautiful view.
