A fun tour, if a bit cheesy. The actor-guides were very enthusiastic, but they seemed to "lose" our group halfway through, meaning that we wandered through the second half of the tour on our own. Some of the displays are a bit shabby and could do with updating.

The actors really made the experience come alive, walking around the prison was creepy yet interesting. The show they put on in the court was fun and I think they rotate them so if you go multiple times you'll see a different one. Good value for money and great for adults and kids alike

Lovely informative museum, with enough to keep me occupied for a couple of hours
Helpful staff. The adjoining cafe sold simple and tasty light meals. I loved the actor explaining how a prisoner escaped from the prison and enjoyed my baked potato with hummus

Not a great deal to look at but I think it changes all year round. The court was funny and my child joined in. We bought a double ticket with the Caves, which we all really enjoyed. I like that we have a full year to keep going back or I'm not sure I'd of thought money well spent. We will return a few more tomes and see what's different.

A lovely little musuem, great for passing the time. Went as a trip with my university, I was the usher. Great fun! Brilliant for people interested in law or punishment etc. Some of the exhibits are in areas which people with mobile disabilities would struggle/be unlikely to get to.

A very fascinating and educational site. The court case re-enactment or "theatre of law" was fabulous. The actors & actress did a phenomenoninal job, also very funny. A great touch overall. Strongly recommended if you interested in justice, prison and law. Had a great time there visiting Nottingham.

I love this place! Really interesting great place to visit. I have been many times. I went for the Halloween tour last night and it was fantastic! Really scary, they did an amazing job at making it really effective with the flashing lights and actors. The staff were brilliant it had me actually believing the characters they were playing were real. Highly recommend the ghost tours and any events with actors in character.

Very intetesting day spent at the National Justice Museum in Nottingham. Very well laid out, and a few actors thrown in to enhance the experience.
Comprehensive information on criminals in the 18th century and how they were treated. All finished off with a great court experience, and an opportunity to practice your acting skills.

A really interesting visit for me. Sat in the same seat in the courtroom that I'd sat in as a very scared juror 45 years ago when it was trying real criminals. Now actors re-enact trials. Still scary.

This is such a brilliant place to find out more about the judicial system and how crime was dealt 'back in the day'. I often visited it as a child, we got to engage in role play of cops and robbers. I was mesmerized and still am today with the preservation of the place.

Fantastic! Such an interesting and vast place! So many stair cases and rooms to explore. Liked the interactive live hanging and the courtroom too! And fascinating to see how the prison system has changed over the years.

Very good Museum, Staff working are very passionate about working here and their enthusiasm makes for a really good experience.
The cafeteria is very good too.
After leaving the museum we went to The Nottingham Caves, once again the Young Lady giving the Tour was very knowledgeable and we found this really interesting. We would go back to Nottingham there's loads to see here!

What a great find! You learn about the English justice system throughout the years, some basics about criminology, forensics, entomology, etc. If you like you can even participate in a mock trial.(We did, and it was so much fun.) the best part of this museum is there are guides acting as characters you can interact with. Get the combo ticket with the City of Caves. Its worth it!

We enjoyed the tour, despite the covid restrictions. The 'character' actors were very informative and entertaining. The only slight criticism I would have is that due to the one way system, the 'chronology' of the explanatory exhibitions were reversed so you went back in time and not forward as probably intended

For anyone who has suffered an injustice in your life, this museum is for you. A look through the ages on a site so steeped in history about how mankind has looked to bring law and order into society, asking thought provoking questions as to the role of prisons (rehibilition or punishment? Deterrent or repellent?).

Manned by actors who are equal in knowledge, humour and passion for what they do, the reinactments of the witch trials and the public execution were brilliant and you can only be absorbed into their enthusiasm for history.

The actors/tour guides even walk around the museum and offer personal snippets of information, Matron Harriet Linton was extremely engaging with how the Prison Acts have changed since the early 1800s and where we will be in terms of justice for all in 300 years to come.

A must for families, couples, and single travellers alike.

Are you a history buff looking for an immersive experience that takes you back in time? Do you have a fascination with crime and punishment, and want to learn more about how justice was served in the past? Look no further than Galleries of Justice, a unique attraction located in Nottingham that offers visitors an unforgettable journey through the history of law enforcement.

At Galleries of Justice, visitors can explore two distinct attractions: The National Justice Museum and the City of Caves. The National Justice Museum is housed within Nottingham's historic courthouse and gaol, which dates back to 1375. Here, visitors can step inside real courtrooms where trials were held centuries ago, see original prison cells where inmates were once held captive, and even take part in interactive exhibits that bring the past to life.

The City of Caves is another must-see attraction at Galleries of Justice. This underground network of sandstone caves dates back to medieval times when they were used as tanneries. Later on, they became air raid shelters during World War II before being rediscovered in the 1970s. Today, visitors can explore these fascinating caves on guided tours that take them through narrow passageways and reveal hidden chambers filled with historical artifacts.

But what sets Galleries of Justice apart from other historical attractions is its commitment to providing an immersive experience for visitors. From costumed actors who bring historical characters to life to interactive exhibits that allow visitors to try their hand at being judge or jury, every aspect has been designed with authenticity in mind.

Whether you're interested in learning about famous criminals like Robin Hood or exploring how justice was served throughout history - from medieval times right up until modern day - there's something for everyone at Galleries of Justice.

But don't just take our word for it - this unique attraction has received rave reviews from both locals and tourists alike. Visitors praise its engaging exhibits, knowledgeable staff members who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with others; as well as its convenient location right in the heart of Nottingham's city center.

So why not plan your visit today? Whether you're traveling solo or bringing along family or friends; whether you're a seasoned history buff or simply curious about what life was like centuries ago; there's no better way to discover Nottingham's rich cultural heritage than by visiting Galleries Of Justice!
