For anyone who has suffered an injustice in your life, this museum is for you. A look through the ages on a site so steeped in history about how mankind has looked to bring law and order into society, asking thought provoking questions as to the role of prisons (rehibilition or punishment? Deterrent or repellent?).

Manned by actors who are equal in knowledge, humour and passion for what they do, the reinactments of the witch trials and the public execution were brilliant and you can only be absorbed into their enthusiasm for history.

The actors/tour guides even walk around the museum and offer personal snippets of information, Matron Harriet Linton was extremely engaging with how the Prison Acts have changed since the early 1800s and where we will be in terms of justice for all in 300 years to come.

A must for families, couples, and single travellers alike.
