Very disappointing. Aimed mainly at the younger audience, I suppose, but I was in and out in less than half an hour (most of that was waiting for the lift). Little to teach anyone with any knowledge of crime and punishment.
The highlight was hearing Billie Holliday's Strange Fruit, which is always welcome.

I went with my partner and my friends and we really enjoyed it. Your ticket is the number for a convict so you can search and see what trouble they got up to. A lot of it is interactive and you can dress up like a judge. Bit of unusual fun to have for an hour or so in Nottingham

My French-speaking group started off among the mob watching an execution, seeing the cells and finally we heard an interesting case in the courtroom. While the girls went off to Primark, I looked at the different forms of punishment and then went to the cosy cafe. A great experience!

I recently visited the national Justice Museum for a ghost investigation on Saturday evening. To my surprise the Venue has changed a dramatic amount from the gibbet cage not hanging in the hallway anymore, there was many displays that I've been removed from certain areas of the museum when it once was the Galleries of Justice like the Gaol is desk when you walked into the cells, various items that were in display in the women's wash area. I used to enjoy attending the museum when it was known as The Galleries of Justice but when I attended on Saturday with a colleague he was quite surprised himself.

I could not fault the staff that evening and the security as they were very helpful and informative when I asked him with regards to what was happening with the transformation of the museum.

But I have to say with the changes to the museum I don't think it was for the best as I remember it was much better than this when I visited 14 years ago on a school trip.

A really interesting place. I really like the court room and cells. We spent a couple of hours here. A few staff in costume to tell you more about the history. We got a wristband with a convict number then could go and find out about the convict, I thought that was a nice touch. A basic little cafe but nice and comfy with good prices. We did both the halls of justice and caves so saved a few pound.

It is quite expensive, however, we enjoyed looking round the cells, doing the various activities/quizzes as we went and learning about various sentences (transportation etc). We met various actors who told us about life as it was. We also took a tour of the caves under broamarsh shopping centre (incl in museum price) and came back to watch a trial enactment and have a cuppa in the lovely cafe. We thoroughly enjoyed our day.

Fascinating, extensive and layered museum. It is claimed to be haunted, whether you believe that or not the place does have a strange energy about it.
With friendly staff and a nice cafe, spending a good hour and a half exploring the tunnels, cellars, dungeons and courtrooms is well worth it.

Great day for all the family. We timed it well as kids were free over Easter but either way it's good value for money. The children learnt lots - as did we! Shame about one very rude member of staff but she was like it to everyone so at least it wasn't personal!!

Great museum, only went for a ghost tour so can't say much on the actual museum however. The tour was great, perfectly spooky without anyone jumping out on you (apart from members of my group). Was nice to get some interesting history that probably isn't given on a normal tour.

Set myself up for the 'Terror tour (sat night) took family & friends & afraid came away feeling rather let down, It was more comical than scary. I'm not saying the galleries aren't a good place of interest to visit because they certainly are but the flyer advertising the terror tour is more frightening than the tour itself, guys you need to improve here.

About Galleries of Justice

Galleries of Justice: Discover the Fascinating History of Crime and Punishment

Are you a history buff looking for an immersive experience that takes you back in time? Do you have a fascination with crime and punishment, and want to learn more about how justice was served in the past? Look no further than Galleries of Justice, a unique attraction located in Nottingham that offers visitors an unforgettable journey through the history of law enforcement.

At Galleries of Justice, visitors can explore two distinct attractions: The National Justice Museum and the City of Caves. The National Justice Museum is housed within Nottingham's historic courthouse and gaol, which dates back to 1375. Here, visitors can step inside real courtrooms where trials were held centuries ago, see original prison cells where inmates were once held captive, and even take part in interactive exhibits that bring the past to life.

The City of Caves is another must-see attraction at Galleries of Justice. This underground network of sandstone caves dates back to medieval times when they were used as tanneries. Later on, they became air raid shelters during World War II before being rediscovered in the 1970s. Today, visitors can explore these fascinating caves on guided tours that take them through narrow passageways and reveal hidden chambers filled with historical artifacts.

But what sets Galleries of Justice apart from other historical attractions is its commitment to providing an immersive experience for visitors. From costumed actors who bring historical characters to life to interactive exhibits that allow visitors to try their hand at being judge or jury, every aspect has been designed with authenticity in mind.

Whether you're interested in learning about famous criminals like Robin Hood or exploring how justice was served throughout history - from medieval times right up until modern day - there's something for everyone at Galleries of Justice.

But don't just take our word for it - this unique attraction has received rave reviews from both locals and tourists alike. Visitors praise its engaging exhibits, knowledgeable staff members who are passionate about sharing their knowledge with others; as well as its convenient location right in the heart of Nottingham's city center.

So why not plan your visit today? Whether you're traveling solo or bringing along family or friends; whether you're a seasoned history buff or simply curious about what life was like centuries ago; there's no better way to discover Nottingham's rich cultural heritage than by visiting Galleries Of Justice!
