It is very worthwhile, just for the statue of Davi...
It is very worthwhile, just for the statue of David it would be worth it. Inquire beforehand about this masterpiece by Michelangelo, to fully understand it when you are close to it.

I missed seeing this last time I was in Florence but if you want to see it, you need to plan. Best to go early around 8.15am. This means you are likely to need to stay the night in Florence. Be prepared to line up. I was part of a tour group so avoided the queue. Once you get in, there are lots of people in there so photos will not be crowd free. You can be in and out within 40 mins for the main art but obviously can spend much longer if you wish. There is a security check so don't bring sharp/dangerous/metal things.
The best of the gallery is obviously Michelangelo's David, but there is a room full of sculptures that help to understand what that era was like and highly praises the merit of Michelangelo
A small museum with the very beautiful real David. It's worth the visit. Bring a sketch book if you can draw and spend lots of time infront of the David. Then take your time to walk through the rest of the museum as well as watch the informative art videos.
Spectacular to visit and see the unique wonders it houses. It is a more than recommended visit in this fantastic place. I recommend booking tickets as this avoids the tedious queues, although we went with a guide and the experience was most gratifying.
The David statue was extremely huge! wasnt expecting that!
The one and only... David. He's worth the wait, but recommend a skip-the-line early morning tour.
I visited in early April. I went from about noon, so I gave up because it was a long line. Although I tried again around 16:00, the line did not decrease, so I gave up and waited about an hour in the rain and cold. Apparently, it seemed like there were restrictions on admission that day, so I was rushing in at once, and I wasn't letting in people for a while. When I finally got inside, there weren't many people in the hall. In addition to the statue of David, there is also Stradivarius, so I hope you will take a look. It was a small museum with enough time for those who can see it in 30 minutes. Even though I'm tired of walking for sightseeing, standing and standing in line for a long time is quite tiring. If you plan to visit from now on, it would be good to make a reservation.
Beautiful art museum with dozens of statues, walls of busts, and incredible art from centuries past. And of course the iconic David statue which is incomparable. Well worth the wait in line (which wasn't too bad, 20-25 minutes). Admission was 12 per person, stand in the Blue line for general admission and you can buy tickets inside. Definitely check this out if you visit Florence (Firenze).
The music museum and David. If there were nothing else here it would be totally worth it for those two things. But there are some excellent examples of paintings from before 1300 and an excellent "walk" through the development of religious art through the centuries. The sculpture studio is also interesting and you can learn the process by which sculptures are made.
Really amazing to see the David. Street vendors near by are quite rude
A quick museum, but completely worth the visit. David is a famous piece of art that actually lives up to the hype in person. They also have unfinished Michelangelo sculptures, which were incredible to see.
Expensive for what there is to see ... Apart from Michelangelo's David, little interest ...
David by Michelangelo but not only. You can see from other unfinished sculptures what the artist's working method was.
Nice enough. The art may be old but unless you like paint by numbers you may not be overly impressed.
Worth the visit to see David and the other Michaelangelo pieces. Book your entry ahead of time and save yourself a lot of headache. Like most tourist places in town, things are not especially well marked, but the lines were much quicker here and more organized than some of the other attractions. Best to visit earlier or later in the day to avoid the crowds.
You can even change the name to Michelangelo Museum
I've seen several David statue replicas so far, but the real thing is different
Is it the difference between marble and plaster?
Texture and presence are different
I heard that it was made with effort
It was also very good because there was a work I was making
Other paintings are the ones I often see in various museums.
The museum is very small
About the size of a local library
To spend a whole day, with how beautiful and enormous it is; Go with a guided tour.
Too difficult audience to focus and enjoy. My problem
As others say, David is a must-see! He's huger than I thought and so handsome and smooth!
Great place with famous David Michelangelo and 4 other sculptures the artist.
We know that Michelangelo's David is there, which is a marvel, but there is much more to see.
See a work of this talent up close ... it was showww !!!
David is great, rest is okay. But also relatively small.
Wow! Nothing like it in my entire visit to Italy. Beautiful and breathtaking. Don't miss this place.
Here you will find the statue of David by Michelangelo besides other interesting statues, paintings, and musical instruments. A must see in Florence. Book your tickets in advance to skip the lines. Not that there will be exta 4 as the reservation fee for each ticket!
DAVID, VENUS, OTTOMAN SULTANS PORTRAITS AND MANY MORE. IT WAS A ONE HELL OF A TRIP.
Very nice museum. If you like art you have to go. The incredible Michelangelo's David. And the other works too. Worth it.
How not to love Michelangelo !! David is a majestic work, it thrills!
Galleria dell'Accademia is a museum in Florence, located in via Ricasoli. The museum, fourth in Italy for the number of visitors after the Uffizi, displays the largest number of Michelangelo sculptures in the world (seven of them), including the famous David.
Inside the Gallery there are also other sections, including the largest and most important collection in the world of pictorial works with a gold background [2], and the Museum of musical instruments, where many artifacts belonging to the historical collection of the Luigi Conservatory are exhibited Cherubini.
In 2016 the museum circuit of the Accademia Gallery and Museum of Musical Instruments registered 1 461 185 visitors [1].
It us amazing looking at David from all the angles.
It is worth visiting for David himself. Inside the instrument museum - there are some interesting exhibits.
The best of Michelangelo's David, imposing. The rest I did not like so much.
Buying the ticket with 4 euros per person in advance we entered without queuing. The interior is wonderful for what it exhibits. In front of the David you will be enchanted ... !!!
Too bad that you could not breathe ... too many people and not even the shadow of the air conditioning
some magnificent works but we mainly come to see david the real one
It's where Michelangelo's David is located with prisoners in the front. You don't miss this awesome sculpture.
A collection of some of the greatest masterpieces in the history of art.
Great museum that doesn't try to house everything like the typical North American museum. Very easy to spend an afternoon or entire day and immerse yourself. When you think you've seen everything you turn around and discover another gem.
Statue of David was spetacular. The rest of the museum was average
Very nice museum, only problem we started to queue at 10:15 am and we entered the museum at 1:30 pm !!! 3h15 waiting in the cold and the awful wind! And in the museum almost people. The fluidity is to be reviewed.
If you are in Florence, you also have to look at the David statue. Admission to this museum costs 12 euros. It is important to note that you cannot take large bags with you. You are checked at the entrance just like in the airport, which was relatively quick. The waiting time at the beginning dragged on a bit, since only 8 people were allowed in one after the other in order to keep the rush inside. But you have the option to reserve the tickets online, so you can use another entrance, which is also preferably "processed". The crowd has gathered a bit in front of the David statue, but there is enough space to take good photos. In general, you can take photos of everything, only the flash must be off.
Perfect place to highlight what is, in all respects, the most beautiful statue ever carved by man. To be breathless!
Marvellous. Superb medieval paintings and lots more.
It is small but it has quite a few wonderful sculptures and statues. If you are interested in history, it is a "most do". It is recommended to buy your ticket in advance if you do not want to wait in line and it is high season.
The David. A Spiritual experience. BUY TICKETS ON LINE IN ADVANCE. Waiting in the line for non reservations would spoil the whole thing. Hours in high season. We waited 10 minutes to get in.
A must. The David in real life .... 5m15. We may have already seen and seen again, it's a real shock. Can be sculptures except plaster models and religious paintings to indigestion.
One of the most visited sites in Florence (it is advisable to book beforehand and avoid the huge queues that form outside), its main attraction unquestionably being the original of Michelangelo's David who was in More
Small but great museum with Michelangelo's David statue.
For EU citizens under 25 years of age, entry costs just 2 !!
The apex of the academy is only Michelangelo's Davi and some unfinished sculptures (the 4 prisoners) of the same ... It is very small and full ... but it is worth seeing Davi
A wonder, and I still don't know why but the entrance was free on Sunday! Unforgettable
David is not just a piece of art but a real master piece so even if the ticket is expensive this museum really worths!
Great art and ambience. Very lively you feel like in olden days
Can't believe the perfection of "David". The visit's really worth it
Strangely, we entered without a row on Sunday. I recommend 13: 45/14 as a timetable. Really nice museum, the David alone deserves the 7 of the ticket
A small gallery for those who interested in a small taste of art :)
The main thing is definitely David.
There are many Madona and Jesus paintings. The lines are long but it runs fast.. worth visit!
Endured the hot sun and lack of water for 2 hours. The line hardly moves even though it seems short. Tried going later in the day hoping most people would move on to eat dinner or see other sights, but to no avail.
Despite the long wait and discomfort, it was worth it. David is the reason everyone goes, and it truly is remarkable. You will not regret this decision.
Recommend reservations most people are only here for one reason.
You're here for David and for a good reason. The rest of the classical art here is incredible as well and warrants the visit in itself.
Michelangelo's David's House, infinite altarpieces and numerous academic and funerary sculptures.
I said it was free on the first Sunday, so I waited in line for 2 hours and paid 12 euros. There is no student discount. Probably in the high season of summer! I waited hard and entered, but there was a power outage, but I was very impressed with the David Prize itself.
A really nice museum. After you've seen the Michaelangelo exhibition, though, there's not really much else to see
