The rules have changed from 2019/3, and you need to make a reservation even if you have a Florence card.

So I made a phone reservation and booked the earliest time in the morning. As expected, there were not so many people and I could see the David statue firmly.

There are no lockers to store luggage, and there is no Japanese in the audio guide.

I saw it quite well, but it seemed that one hour was enough.

Along with his timeless masterpiece DAVID, you will view at least 5 more sculptures by Michaelangelo, as well as dozens of altarpieces and paintings by well-known and less famous artists. If you dislike very very large museums, this smaller collection may be to your liking.

I recommend that you stand in line (or buy a bet online). Painting and sculpture inside. Painting as such, but great sculptures ... the sculpture of David is impressive! The other sculptures are also great .. there are also some Polish threads ..

Florence has so many beautiful art galleries The Galleria dell'Accademia di Firenze, is an art museum best known as the home of Michelangelo's sculpture David. You should go with a tour to get in quicker, you can also see a replica of the statue in the Piazza della Signoria in Florence.

Over hyped. David's statue is about the only thing to see here. Overpriced for what it is. My wife and I both agree that the paintings inside were way worse than the artists painting outside the gallery. The crowd and queues aren't managed well.

There is much more to see than Michelangelo's statue of David, although this is the highlight. There are also many other sculptures and some stunning religious art upstairs, especially the beautiful altarpieces. Highly recommended

It is imperative to book before on the internet to pass quickly. There is the famous David, to see, the rest are only religious canvases so you have to be interested, I also liked having a description of the why and how of the paintings, otherwise it's quite small and it is done quickly

The experience of Michael Angelo's David is something every person should experience in Florence. The rest of the exhibits are good but almost too much to take in and enjoy. The staff were very helpful and efficient

Great, but I don't have to say it.
Too bad for the queue at the entrance despite the reservation .... He says that the German director was doing an interview .... Mha.

Beautiful paintings from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance are exhibited. Great emotion in front of Michelangelo's David and other sculptures by the artist, even the unfinished ones

Since I went without a tour, I had no other expectations, but I thought that I could see the David Prize.. However, the David Prize was more than expected.
Even though I searched every room wherever I was, the suddenly appearing David statue brought me to admire.
It was a David award.. what more is needed...

Wonderful, I recommend going late in the morning because you can see the statues in detail and without so many crowds. There are some chairs to sit next to the David and to see it in detail. If you go to Florence you have to go see it.

The Accademia Gallery is a museum in Florence, located in via Ricasoli. The museum, fourth in Italy for the number of visitors after the Uffizi, displays the largest number of Michelangelo sculptures in the world (seven of them), including the famous David.
To date most of the rooms are closed due to covid, but it is worth taking a very quick tour.

It is the sculpture that has most captivated me by Michelangelo, it seems that it will start working at any time, with that special light that gave it a rosy color that day. It's magical to you to look at it. I would have been enthralled for hours.

By purchasing tickets online and establishing the visiting hours, we did not queue to enter. Obviously the main attraction is Michelangelo's majestic and exciting David, but it is also worth taking a look at the other works present, including the area dedicated to musical instruments.

always spectacular compliments also for the discretion and organization. Always try to facilitate and reduce the costs of us passionate troubled people ... we are only culture-driven and perhaps today we are an endangered breed!

I forgot to buy the skip the line tickets the night before, and by morning, they were sold out. I decided to go at 9:00am, and the only wait was about 3 minutes in the security line. No photos or videos do justice. You must see David in person!

Finally I managed to go there. Michelangelo's original David is worth a visit! However, I also discovered a beautiful picture of my fellow countryman of Loro Ciuffenna, Carlo Portelli!

So neutral on this. Very glad we didn't queue and booked online, because if I had I would've been very disappointed. Seeing the David was incredible, and awe inspiring, but everything else on display was pretty uninteresting, especially compared to everything else available to see in Florence.

An unmissable place in Florence if you like art, the entrance is expensive, especially considering that there is not much to see, it is a small museum but an unmissable place for the work it houses

Visit this place just for David. The sculpture is overwhelming. The statue captures your attention with a single glance. You can look carefully and you'll see attention to detail in even the tiniest of parts. Michelangelo was a genius to have carved this sculpture. The other parts of the museum doesn't have much to see and a tad bit disappointing.

Totally worth the visit just to get a look at David, though. Not a big waiting line to get inside compared to other places here.

Discriminated and indignant
I have lived and studied in Italy for 20 years but not being an EU citizen, I am deprived of the possibility of a reduced rate. So those who come to Italy for a week have the right to visit almost for free, those who study me, pay us taxes and live there must pay the full amount in order to take advantage of national art. Wouldn't it be fairer to reserve the reduced for students?
Moreover, I found a general discourtesy within the staff, all on a war footing for every little thing.
On the museum itself I have no criticism to make even if the central work remains the David, the rest are all minor works.

The main floor most notably has a collection of altar art, a special exhibition on musical instruments, and the Statue of David. The museum was giving its name- the Acadamy, because it is meant for the study of from from sculpture. The selection of plaster sculptures in the back, furthermore, are all models (not the originals). The second floor has some beautiful Christian art, don't miss it! Finally, the lines here are LONG. It goes without saying that during peak season if you dont want to end up waiting for three hours for a half an hour museum visit, buy in advance.

Queues aside, if I could enter 10 more times I would. It costs a bit if you book, but if you don't, the queue is really endless. David is incredible, in fact I think that if you enter you will spend half the time just going around to be able to appreciate all the details.

Not just home of Michelangelo's 'David', but vast collection of sculptures and paintings. I'd highly recommend doing a bit of research before going. I felt I couldn't appreciate what was on offer with the exception of the more well known pieces. There is also a musical instrument section and more paintings upstairs that most people seemed not to realise. We arrived to a small-ish queue roughly half an hour before it opened; it still took over an hour to get in the queue only got longer behind us. Going early is definitely a must unless you reserve a ticket online or pay for a tour.
