Great centralized location, affordable shows, rotating tap selection, fantastic service... this place really nails it. The sound quality is good and the room is cozy. On sold out nights it does tend to get uncomfortably packed. It's not the biggest room. It's appropriately sized for most events though with room to dance.

Beyond the curtain partition you will find yourself in a traditional dining establishment. Great food, tasty coffee, and free water dispenser (which is great). You can go back and forth between sides, as long as you received your wristband from the show.

I love funking it up here! You probably will too.

american food and the setting at this location is great. service is typically above par. this place has a cool design. kinda of like a restaurant in los angeles i loved to visit.

Absolutely LOVED Funk 'n Waffles. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to find this delightful restaurant, with so much character. My banana bread waffle was delicious. The wings were great as well. I only wish, I had visited during one of the nightly shows. Yes, they have a stage and a bar. Looks like it is a nice place for an interesting evening.

Excellent vegan options. I prefer savory breakfasts so I usually get something with the local vegan cheese which is amazing. Thank you for serving the vegan community!

Ok so let's talk waffles.... cane back into town for work. Ate dinner early and just wanted something sweet for dessert. Came across this place.

So I decided to get a banana bread waffle... yes banana bread waffle! Throw in some blueberries granola and some PB.... add a scoop of coffee ice cream and the magic begins!

PB & Blueberries is one of my favorite combos and is very unknown to people, so here I am spreading the word about it!

Come here, so many choices, sweet and savory, breakfast and dinner.... 2 thumbs up!!

It's a shame that such a "cool-looking" place had such terrible service. The guy at the cashier stand (Steven, I believe) definitely, needs a career change. He was abrasive, rude, and unpleasant, not only with us, but with every customer I observed his interaction with. Food was ok, nothing to write back home about... I wouldn't return, nor will I encourage anyone to visit.

I was surprised to find that this place wasnt what all the reviews led it up to be. I had the chicken and waffles and it came with a sweet yet spicy sauce. The chicken was dried out and the waffles were really soft. Unfortunately, I like my waffles with more of a crunch. The sauce was weird. A lot of confusion in my mouth and I didnt know what to think of it. I would go back to this restaurant if I couldnt find anything else good to eat. It's not on the bottom of my list, but definitely not on the top either. It was alright. Prices were fair.

Food was bland, no table service. House keeping was horrible. We were there over an hour trash was over flowing and stuff on the floor not changed or picked up until 10 min before we left.

A great place to go an grab a waffle or panini at any time of day or go grab a drink and see a great show in the evening. This place has music every night and draws a really diverse crowd of all ages and backgrounds. So glad to have this great venue in downtown Syracuse.

Great waffles! My favorite is the james brownie (brownie waffle with ice cream, whipped cream, and chocolate sauce) although it isn't for the faint of heart. It is a great waffle to share with friends. Also the resturant has a really nice creative vibe to it.

Considering the overall positive review score and the fact that it's chicken and waffles (read: amazing) this place should of been a dream come true. Instead our recent dining experience was derailed by an overall lack of direction, a cumbersome ordering process, and three guys working the counter who looked like they'd rather be anywhere but there. Food we got was decent, except after 50 minutes we still hadn't received the entire order (and it was only two drinks and two waffles). Went to go ask for a refund (smart move asking for payment first), and no one was around when we had to finally leave.

I don't mind a little hard work but if I wanted to clean off my own table at the beginning and bus my own dishes at the end I would of stayed home and cooked. And yet that's what happened here. Overall this place gets some pretty good reviews but worth noting that it's not always consistent.

What they're on Saint Patrick's day weekend in the place was awesome

Really good chicken and waffles.Great and polite staff. Only downside is you cant eat inside and the utensils provided are useless for cutting waffles. Overall food great, hope to go when they reopen dining room.

Some of the waffles are just ordinary, like you could make them at home, but loved the brie and bacon waffle. Staff is friendly and this is an easy place to bring kids. We still talk about the perfect cappuccino that one of the servers made us; wouldn't be surprised if she had been trained as a barista!

Attended VeganCNY event there last night with an amazing vegan menu! So so super good! Pretty please add the vegan jive turkey to the regular menu! I promise to stop by VERY regularly if you do! Bootsy brunch is amazing too!

They do have back up ways of using credit cards.There is no excuse for not being able to accommodate customers.
You may want to figure it out instead of crying about losing business on the local news.
The food and service is sub par anyways. When I order a waffle, I expect to see a whole waffle on my plate and not a quarter of a waffle. At most it should have specified on the menu that it was just a quarter of a waffle.Took forever to get our food and then fight through the line to even get to the counter.The area to prepare my coffee was not very convenient either.

jive turkey I got the half and it was 2 slices of deli meat on mashed potatoes w/ gravy and a thin soggy waffle that needed more taste and crunch.It was well done but close to average.With all the hype I expected better taste and larger portions.A full order is $13 I'll pass,but will try more of their menu just with lowered exceptions .

Best waffles place ever, beats Gloria Gaynor's in Atlanta..m recommend the Thanksgiving waffles meal.... A+

Love it great food can sit outside good atmosphere. During the week you can get your food in a timely manner eat and be out ....Friday through Sunday though I'd get there early ....you're going to end up waiting 45 minutes to an hour for your food..... picking up your food at the counter and there not being a waiter or waitress is kind of outdated though. Especially when they have some stoned kid moving at the pace of a sloth walking around doing nothing they could easily wait on tables

Quality has dropped off, employees are rude. My jive turkey had one little slice of turkey and the waffle was tasteless and undercooked. When we went to leave we were scolded for not cleaning up our silverware. So then what was the $2 suggested tip each of us paid? Certainly wasn't for your service. Liked it better when it was still in the basement.

I've heard some great things about this place. How the music was good, food was amazing. Plus working near by was a super plus for me. So I took a chance after reading the reviews online. A chance I am now sorry for and should of ordered McDonald's instead. And note I HATE McDonald's.
Chicken was practically burnt yet it was undercooked. Yes very pink on the inside burnt on the outside. Soggy chips with the pretty good Rubin. Rubin was good but everything else was bad bad bad! Needless to say I will NOT be returning nor would I recommend anyone here.

I was visiting Syracuse and thought this place looked fun and delicious. I was not disappointed! Prices were reasonable for large portions, and the food was prepared quickly. The vibe was very chill and fun. I would love to go back to try more of the waffles and stay for the live music!

I really enjoyed my food and drink here. Great music. I thought it was a little quirky that although I was seated at a table, i would have to return to the counter to order food/ drink after my initial order. Not sure if this is common practice or if the wait staff didn't show up.

Happiness brought to you by waffles. This place made me so incredibly happy. I had numerous 1/2 of waffles but my favorite was the Brie, basil and bacon waffle. The staff was great and the food was spectacular. I'm so glad I went and can't wait to go back. I wish I had a photo but I ate my food too fast.

We walked in we saw the code on tables most of our phones did not work with them. We did get a menu. The staff said they would take our order. So we waited for him to come get our order instead of saying " when your ready come back up here and order" I don't remember any signs saying to order here. Food was decent nobody in our party complained. We had 7 of us so obvious we were not familiar. Feel could have been more helpful with guidance on how it worked. More like a self service. Should make it more plain to people when they arrive.

Music is excellent and diverse. Food is always good. Really fun place to go no matter if you are 22 or 52 years old.

Went for breakfast. Not impressed with the food, quantities seemed over priced for a single waffle. They did have a good selection of different waffle types. Then a pan handler came in from the street and started asking everyone seated for money. Made us feel unsafe.

Perhaps it would be better to visit to see music, but would not recommend for a dine in breakfast.
