Excellent museum, the collection is very varied, you can spend several hours there admiring the various works. It is not very big but if there is much to see, I loved its distribution and how to travel it becomes very fluid

The permanent collection is very good. Very good temporary exhibitions. The entrance price is expensive. And no free time to see the temporary exhibitions. We are in Europe. Not everything must be for profit.

If you go to Madrid go to this museum !!! Of course the Prado is the TOP but this also deserves !!! I was there 3 hours but I couldn't see it all ... there are: Caravaggio Tiziano Ghirlandaio Palma Vecchio etc .. up to Picasso and the Impressionists ... I can't list them all!

In my opinion this is the best art museum in Madrid, as it has the most breadth. It's also organized fairly well, and easy to find the works that one wants. It's a fair price for what it has, and the layout means there are no crowds, making it easy to see the paintings. There are works by so many great masters here that it would be impossible to list them all.

My best memory of Madrid. Extraordinary place, engaging and full of dazzled pearls. Knowing the works it houses, I recommend planning what you want to see, being a private collection it also collects second-rate works. If you have time, lose yourself inside, otherwise go straight to the objectives
Beautiful museum that crosses the centuries from 15th to 20th
Museum little known but very valid. A collection that is not extensive but really interesting and of quality, it covers a period from the 12th to the 20th century. It's really worth it. In 2:30 hours everything is turned. The app dedicated to the museum is very useful.

Wonderful place to organize a private event like the one I attended
I didn't expect it to be so busy. I had about 3 hours to kill in centre of Madrid. I came to the museum only to find a massive queue for the tickets. After 15 mins in the queue I noticed a message on the screen saying that they limit the amount of people they let in, so the next available slot was in an hour and half. I realised that by the time, I'd get to actually buy a ticket, my slot to go in would likely be around the time I would need to leave for my train.
Museum itself looks very professional and they exhibit famous artists, but one needs to be prepared to waste a lot of time, just to get in.

The very good treatment, and the spectacular punishment. But they have to go around the entrances of the Secondary student groups, If you book the entrance as a group it costs you 11 euros. If the individual reservations are free, some can be booked online and others not, you have to withdraw them at the box office, but tickets at the same times are sold out and students have to enter at different times. I think it's chaotic for the students. A mess for the teachers

Thyssen museum is of course one of the most important museums in Madrid and in the world. It is an excellent museum at which no matter where you look at you will always find interesting art. They have some famous collections as well like Monet, Picasso, Caravaggio, Van gogh; among others which you can find online. Believe me you will enjoy visiting here; whenever I visit Madrid I always come back. I recommend spending around 4-5 hours here.

I was fortunate to coincide with the exhibition of Balthus, a museum wonder very comfortable your tour.
Unlike The Prado, which has a disappointing range of work - there are large holes in the collection where, for example, Impressionist should be, likewise 20thC work, The Thyssen has an almost seamless selection from mediaeval to Warhol and Lichtenstein.
The Thyssen benefits from the purchasing power of royalty without the constraints. The collection was assembled with a view to representing the best in any genre without having to accumulate a portrait of every last prince, princess, ambassador or cardinal.
The Thyssen is a gallery it is essential to visit and that for as long as your stamina will allow. In fact, two or three visits of 2-3 hrs each would be ideal.
All wonderful except the cafeteria, the ugliest of all the museums I know in Madrid and is that during the winter it has closed terraces.

Arrive a few minutes before it opens and you can be one of the first people in the doors when they opened at 10am. We rented out audio guides and headed to the second floor to start the tour. I have a deep appreciation for well designed audio guides and collections in museums that are set up in a logical progression. This one started with portraits dating back to 1510 and went through a chronological history leading us from one peach colored room to the next.

It takes three days to look at it with feeling, really, with arrangement) we only had half a day, it s clear that after a couple of hours all the paintings merge, and at the third hour the eyes twitch; therefore, it takes a lot of time!
