Fabulous museum, essential. Perhaps it gives the feeling of something messy in the monitoring of the rooms and collections. Eating there is too expensive for the quality of the food.
Good collection Sorry to throw you out at 7pm, but the store closes at 7:30 pm
The exquisite collection of paintings is the specialty of this museum. For fans of art
Excellent museum. Very well organized making the visit easy. Very extensive collection. Without being an expert, it took 2 and a half hours to see it. Especially worth the temporary Rembrandt collection now. Very varied work. Little overwhelm.
Very comfortable to see your permanent collection. The terrace is very quiet to have a drink before or after the visit
Beautiful place. Well worth a visit if you appreciate fine art. Free in on Monday though..
Great museum with a wonderful collection of old masters and modern art. Go there just before the opening, otherwise you will be standing in line for hours.
One of the most complete collections in a single museum, from the classic to the modern.
For the temporary exhibitions: Balthus and Balenciaga which fascinated me
From the best private collections I've ever visited. Paintings from the early years DC to the present day. Renowned artists. I like the selection. Enough light in space.
People are only familiar with The Prado, but this is an equally good museum that is worth going to.
Museum with works known, very calm and friendly, can photograph.
The poor relation to El Prado and Reina Sofia but really should not be. Pretty quiet even on the free afternoon, and some amazing masterpieces
Wonderful museum that you should not miss. The permanent collection is one of the must-see visits in Madrid. There is always some temporary exposure, this time I went to see Balthus.
The museum is very classy contains more than 1200 works on 3 floors. Admission is free on Mondays from 12.00 to 16.00. The collection on the 1st floor has many impressionist artists: Manet, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Van Gogh and on the 0th floor there are representatives of contemporary art: Picasso, Dali, Kandinsky, Pollock, Rothko, Mondrian. This is the only museum where you can photograph pictures without problems. Highly recommend.
It has very nice works of art. For example: Vicent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso ... (ETC ETC ETC)
A walk through the history of art. Highly recommended do you like art
It was my favorite museum in Madrid, of a level much higher than the Prado (as far as my personal tastes are concerned) even if less known. I was thrilled to see paintings that, having studied art history at the university, I knew well.
Also I lost the ticket as a genius and the staff was very kind and did not make me feel stupid (even if I have been).
I will absolutely be back
I have gone with my students and I have been really surprised by the beautiful collection. Very careful, good lighting that will make you enjoy each work. Painters of various styles and times so that visitors can enjoy art according to their tastes.
Enchanted with the exhibition of Balenciaga.A display of good taste
It is always a pleasure to see the art collections exhibited in this museum.
Fantastic collection!! Best museum (for my taste in art of the 20th century) I have ever been.
Beautiful museum of modern art but you have to be really passionate about the genre to appreciate it. I especially liked the temporary exhibition Picasso -Toulouse Lautrec
More ordered the Prado, it contains the finest works compared to the Reina Sofia, I much preferred than the other two. Keep it last so you will have a better memory.
4.5 stars. A great alternative to El Prado although it stands alone on it's own merit. Overall, a wonderful exhibit. Extensive collections of art spanning almost a millennia which includes works from several masters. Well organized with appropriate lighting. I would recommend going in the late afternoon for a less crowded experience. Definitely with a visit for at least 3 hours or more.
Museum with an incredible collection ranging from the seventeenth century to modern art. Monday from 12 to 16 is free
Museum has rooms in chronological order. Excellent.
Excellent collection Caravaggio is the highest point in my opinion, while highlighting paintings by Van Gogh, Rubens, Rivera, Miro, Renoir, Picasso among others.
I confess I didn't expect it! Very good. The contemporary art exhibition is spectacular. No offense, but it marked me more than Prado!
After going to Museo del Prado and Reina Sofia, it was the one I liked the most. The order of the rooms super well organized, much better to understand, I enjoyed much more than the other two museums. Excellent collection of artwork. If you only have time for a museum I recommend this. You can spend the whole day without getting tired.
Good paintings from famous artists, but a lot of repeats. Earliest paintings from around 1300-1400 ad. Nothing too big, but the self portrait of Rembrandt was nice as well as the portrait of Henry the VIII. A lot less crowded than Prado for a cheaper price.
A relatively small, but very good collection, much more interesting than the Prado across the street, plus no queue for tickets.
We were 4 friends at the Balenciaga exhibition and already at the box office we were treated by a very unpleasant girl of treatment and nothing cooperative. A pity that does not have the name but was the second on the right at 12.15h. A very unlikely first impression for a large museum like the Thyssen.
The exhibition is very beautiful but it is necessary to indicate to whom the exposed costumes belonged and the possibility of seeing the back of many of them.
In general good because I am a friend of the museum. If I had to pay the current entrance fee and queue for tourists, surely worse. There should be a deference for the registered Madrilenians and it should be cheaper as there are in other cities with their inhabitants.
A fabulous collection. How much beauty all together ...
An immense museum, worth visiting.
But it has a big problem with temporary exhibitions: Tickets are not sold just to visit temporary exhibitions, but you have to buy the ticket that gives access to the entire building. So for people who already know the fixed exposure, the price to see the different temporary exhibitions they offer throughout the year is excessive.
Wonderful! It is worth the visit for all who like modern art.
Works of incalculable value in a neoclassical building
Balenciaga's exhibition is interesting, but it lacks the educational value. Perhaps some of the history of each suit that justifies the relationship with the paintings. A timeline ... Made in the life of Balenciaga that supports.
The first-order paintings and suits, but a queen's wedding suit deserves to say, that's why el3
An exceptional collection of masterpieces in a beautiful modern museum. Obligatory
I liked a lot of the impressionist of the impressionist
Like a good museum, everything in its rightful place
I bought a museum pass, couldn t visit all cause a lot of them were closed on Monday when I had time. I had a great time here, lots and lots of beautiful paintings, easy to look around and you are allowed to take photos too except the temporary exhibitions. Definitely a recommendation if you like arts
Great museum. Can easily see everything. Well laid out, beautiful building.
A good museum and with excellent works!
I recommend buying tickets through the web beforehand.
It is impressive to think that all these works belong to a family, it is a good plan to go, on Mondays from 12:00 to 16:00 it is free entry in 2 hours you can tour the museum without stopping much. I totally recommend it.
Despite having a limited entry for a certain number of people, it is a big deal. You can barely see the pictures .v
If you've gone to the met and love that stuff you'll love it, if you're not an avid arts viewer I wouldn't suggest going
A wonderful exhibition that if you already know Sorolla's house, will complement your vision of the artist.
As additional information to the frequent visitors of museums, tell you that the shops of all offer pieces to take into account and this one in particular always has offers to 50% of remains of collections that are very worthwhile.
Beautiful collections of paintings but a bad use of space
The structure that houses it is very beautiful and functional, not so much the collection. We find paintings by excellent authors, such as Van Gogh, Picasso and Caravaggio, but their exhibited works are not the most beautiful or famous.
The idea that remains strong is that we focused on quantity, without a particular criterion, and that we wanted to acquire "names" rather than level works.
Fantastic pairing between pictorial art and haute couture ... I did not expect what, with pleasure, I found. Magnificent exhibition, documented, structured and well presented ... Yes I missed that some models could not be seen in front and behind ... Perhaps some rotating base or mirror placement would have further highlighted the characteristics of certain designs.
A large museum in Madrid, both its permanent and temporary collections. Currently there is a temporary exhibition of Balthus very interesting.
Spectacular place, careful, safe, with a permanent, temporary exhibition, activities for different ages and needs, minimalist and cheerful decoration, good professionals and with a leisure area and store agreed to the place. Museum to visit and total recommendation.
I love Lucien Freud, but the collection is wide and for all tastes
Enjoying such an interesting Museum without many people is a pleasure
Excellent museum and excellent treatment by its workers. My congratulations
I mean..its a museum...if you like art go ahead and visit a museum! And this has some very important amazing works. A great way to learn the evolution of art
Very beautiful paintings from the oldest to the most modern.
Too bad that on some paintings there are ugly reflections.
Very nice museum. It is different from everything seen, in the first place because when it comes from a private collection, it is relatively small and easily traversed. However, it has pieces from all ages and some of great value. It is located two blocks from the subway station, the most recommended medium for that area of Madrid
Great museum to learn, get lost and enjoy art. Friendly staff
Nice museum for every taste.
Start from top to bottom, otherwise you may not see it all :)
Expensive for my liking, considering that in order to fully enjoy the Museum, you need to take an audio guide, but despite this it is a Museum that is worth visiting for the variety and importance of the works.
Recommendable!!!
This an amazing art museum with a collection which is remarkable. It is like walking though an art text book with almost all periods and styles covered. Very much worth a 2 to 3 hour visit.
Not being much of an art connoisseur I found the Prado oppressive and stifling. However, I enjoyed the Thyssen. Wider variety of paintings and a lighter and brighter atmosphere. After doing two art museums in a row I was fairly famished and lightheaded. Had some lovely pastries and coffee at the cafe on the premises.
Balenciaga, a highly recommended exhibition, first-class painting with the work of an incredible artist.
A must see for lovers of peinture and modern art. Impressive temporary exhibitions.
Fantastic! I recommend temporary exhibitions with a guide
A marvel, the philological layout of the paintings is beautiful
Magnificent facilities for a wonderful exhibition.
The exhibition Impressionism and photography is a delight that deserves to be seen in detail. The guide, a graduate in history, enlarges her even more. What to say about the museum ... impeccable. I will come back many times.
Very rich collection, very organized. There are always temporary exhibitions. Unmissable
This afternoon I saw the Rembrandt exhibition. I liked it, although I sincerely expected more paintings from him. What I did not like at all has been the treatment of the boy at the box office, nor of one of the guards at the exhibition. The first has been unpleasant and the second has been planted in front of me so that I would not go to see a painting that I had liked from a previous room (they had announced that there were five minutes left and in five minutes I think you can go see a only box, for that the entrance is paid). In the end I managed to see him again, but that act seemed out of place to me. Instead the person in charge of the audio guides lovely. I have worked in customer service before and it seems to me that there are ways and means to treat customers.
A full immersion in European art from the Gothic to the 20th century but with splendid paintings also of the Russian and US avant-garde
Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza: A Museum of Art and Culture
The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is a museum located in Madrid, Spain. It is one of the most important art museums in the world, with a collection that spans from the 13th century to contemporary art. The museum was founded by Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and his wife Carmen Cervera in 1988.
The museum's collection includes over 1,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. The collection is divided into seven different sections: Early Italian Painting; German Renaissance and Baroque Painting; Dutch Painting; Flemish Painting; English Painting; French Painting; and American Art.
One of the highlights of the museum's collection is its impressive display of Impressionist paintings. The museum has an extensive collection of works by artists such as Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, and Vincent van Gogh.
In addition to its permanent collection, the Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year. These exhibitions showcase works from other museums around the world or focus on specific themes or artists.
The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is located on Paseo del Prado in Madrid. This area is known as "Paseo del Arte" because it houses three major museums: El Museo Nacional del Prado (the National Museum), El Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (the Reina Sofia Art Center), and El Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza (the National Museum).
Visitors can purchase tickets online or at the museum's ticket office. Guided tours are available for groups or individuals who want to learn more about specific aspects of the museum's collections.
