The exhibition of the Impressionists and the recently closed photograph at the Thyssen Museum has been wonderful, and the one that now comes from February 26, Rembrandt and the portrait will also be, they have a lot of quality. The permanent collections of the Thyssen Museum and the Carmen Thyssen Museum are a complement to others that we have in other museums and is a must-see throughout the year.

Very good permanent sample, with representation of different times and currents, in a compacted way that allows you to enjoy the whole exhibition in one day. Excellent MONET display. To improve: the color of the walls of the 2nd floor, intense pink next to the paintings. Bad selection. And arriving at the closing time, the shop assistants are put with a lot of bad humor and rudeness.

Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza is located along Paseo del Prado in Madrid. This is an important inclusion in the Golden Triangle of Art in Madrid along with fellow art museums, Prado and Queen Sofia. Opening Hours are 10am to 7pm Tuesday to Sunday and 12-4pm on Mondays.

Visitors can enjoy a world-class permanent collection representing a wide range of art periods from the 13th to 20th century and showcasing over 1000 paintings from a who's who list of historical artists. You'll see works by the likes of Fra Angelico, Jan van Eyck, Veronese, Caravaggio, Rembrandt, Gainsborough, Kandinsky, Dali, Renoir, van Gogh, Chagall, Pollock amongst many many others.

The main collection is spaced out over 3 floors. Your visit will start on the 2nd floor with galleries arranged mostly in chronological fashion, allowing you work your way from earlier periods to more recent Post Impressionist and Modern art works of the last century on the ground floor. We spent around 90 minutes on the 2nd and 1st floor and another 30 minutes in the smaller ground floor exhibition area.

The ground floor is where you find ticket booth, gift shop, access to the museum cafe as well as temporary exhibition spaces. Photography is allowed through the permanent collection. However, it is not allowed in the temporary exhibition area.

Overall, we very much enjoyed our time at Thyssen Museum in Madrid, finding it a nice complement to Prado and Queen Sofia. This is a world-class venue and a place that will be greatly appreciated by anyone who enjoys viewing fine art.

Very good collection of paintings, indisputable references for great moments. The exhibitions usually have great interest. It hurts that many times the capacity is exceeded, people pile up and get mad.

A pinacoteca of high level, the temporary exhibitions are very interesting and the permanent exhibition has an incalculable artistic level. It does not have the dimensions of the Prado for example but it makes up for it with very good documentation of its exhibitions and its artistic restorations.

Of course it's worth a visit! It is modern and very friendly to the visitor. The collection of works is amazing. The bad atmosphere at the entrance of the building had a negative impression ... It gave you the impression that the place had no air ....

One of the few museums well presented and with variety and quality. The proof is that it is almost always full ... despite the somewhat high entrance fee. But it is well cared for, well guarded and with a very complete website.

Personally one of the best collections in Madrid after El Prado. Essential visit to the permanent collection. A true treasure.
The temporary exhibitions are of high quality and very good installed.
Sometimes somewhat saturated visits.
The store and the activities are also great.

I loved this museum, for having such a unique collection, for letting me in for free that day, and for letting me take pictures. The coat check was convenient, too. I definitely recommend this museum, which isn't far from the Prado, but is certainly worth the trip.

An elegant art museum.

An elegant art museum.
: The chronological variety of works of art that he has not focused on a specific period or style. Super friendly and attentive staff. Interesting souvenir shop.
: The architecture of the building makes its internal orientation difficult. The entrance price and cafeteria is very high.

I visited the Carl Blossfeldt exhibition curated by Loewe and I loved it. There are 40 works by this magnificent photographer of the 19th century.
I have also had the opportunity to take a guided tour of the rest of the museum's works and it has seemed a magnificent experience. The guide has commented with great detail some of the most emblematic paintings that helps to understand the historical and artistic origin of each work.
One hundred percent recommended !!!

The Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza is a museum located in Madrid, Spain. It is one of the most important art museums in the world, with a collection that spans from the 13th century to contemporary art. The museum was founded by Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and his wife Carmen Cervera in 1988.
