Out of Madrid s big 3 museums, definitely the most accessible, with paintings from all over the world covering several time periods and art movements. Highly recommended.

Amazing! It is a must museum to visit in Madrid, I highly recommend the 0 floor, the collection is large and on Mondays it is free from 12-16 hrs.

The museum is fine. But the cafe of the museum is not so pleasant. On my most tecent visit, the waitresses were rude and prejudice against the Asian visitors. They were impatient and unwilling to serve, especially one big-size waitress, who could barely speak English, which actually was fine by me. But she kept rolling her eyes when she turned away. She probably didn't know that kind of facial expression made her look ugly and pathetically ignorant. Fortunately there was a waitor who was extremely polite and helpful, otherwise, the good name of this museum would be tinted by certain people.

I have been visiting the Balenciaga exhibition. It's worth it, very well mounted. A lot of elegance and well chosen paintings with which designs are presented!

WONDERFUL MUSEUM WITH ART JEWELS, WITH AN ATTENTION OF 10 OF ALL ITS WORKERS AND HAVE FREE SETTLEMENT TO LEAVE COATS, CASES ... GREAT.

The sample of Balthus is very interesting and beautiful.

One of my favorite Art museums in Madrid. I love it. I come here at least once every 3 months. The permanent collection is superb. Wonderful. A gem.

You can reach it with great ease as it is located near the center of Madrid.
It contains works of the highest value, very beautiful and very famous painters.

I visited on 16/6/2018, at 15:00. There was no line. The museum is well organized, it is easy to find your way. The collection is not very big, but there are many masterpieces, if you, like me, like impressionists and postimpressionists. Do not miss temporary collections on -1 floor.

What a wonderful museum covering all epochs of Art,it is also free for 4 hours on a Monday!A must see when visiting Madrid!

How do you rate a museum? It depends so much on what you like, that you can only assess how comfortable the visit is, how well the posters are organized or the temperature. All this well enough.

Good quality of the works and an impressive collection through many eras of art history. Something strange that you must first run through the temporary exhibition before you are allowed to the Thyssen collection.

Museum more avant-garde than the Museo del Prado..I was lucky to be able to enjoy Monet..Renoir .. incredible.

I love this museum - it's got a really great mix of styles and time periods so you will find something for everyone... just a bit on the pricey side at 13 to get in.

The audio guide is really good for a person with no knowledge / some knowledge about art.

The museum's exposition takes over 3 hours to listen to all the selected stories.

The temporary expositions were very good as well. I did enjoy the wild west one a lot.

The staff does speak English. There are elevators so I think it is OK to visit even for people with disabilities.

I did end of the day I feel that I have learned something.

It is not for all audiences ... it is a bit expensive ...

A cup of tea at a cafe. It is a slow but very relaxing place. Go to the second floor.

The Balthus exhibition was very interesting to me, although it is not from my favorite painters. 4 stars because when I went the store was closed, but otherwise excellent.

There are many impressionist painter and nice exhibitions.
Educational technical painter there!
You have to enjoy it than visiting Madrid.
Every end of the year there are cinemas for art.

Good with a free visit if you're an art noob. Look online for highlights of what to see as I (being an art noob) didn't recognise many paintings personally. Free on Sundays

I was able to admire Van Gogh .. One of my favorite painters and Picasso, Manet, Monet, Toulouse, Lautrec etc .... Simply exciting

What to say. One of the most beautiful and manageable museums in Madrid. Temporary exhibitions are the excuse to go every six months.
The store is a bit expensive but has curious things.
The cafeteria is very nice, although the service is a bit depersonalized.

Highly recommended must visit along with the Prado. They are close to each other.

Beautiful museum for a couple of hours of culture .... one of the most complete private collections open to the public I've ever seen .....

It is one of the great cultural centers of our city .....

Not going to this museum is an outrage to art, with an important variety of works, all well organized and cared for, in this period the temporary, Picasso Toulouse Lautrec which I consider something exceptional, makes it even more interesting.
Times for the visit including the temporary I would say around five hours.

Agglomeration of people at the Rembrandt exhibition and the portrait in Amsterdam, the tickets are regulated with groups / time of entry, but the accesses must not be properly controlled or the groups are not managed properly, yesterday Sunday at 12:00 could not be nor see the pictures, a shame especially for those who come from afar and have no chance to return another day.

It is worth visiting the museum, it is like taking a trip through time through painting from the fourteenth to the twentieth centuries

An adequately organized museum, with a moderate collection of paintings, mostly from 20th century.

We where on a Monday, where the entry is free for everyone and against my expectations it was not over filled with people. The art is way to much for one day so we only went to one floor but if I go back to Madrid, I will definitely go back to see more.

Museum full of important artists, beautiful, welcoming and even free at certain times. And it's not a trivial thing when traveling.

Great variety of artistic works effectively displayed

I will recommend this museum for those who likes pre-renaissance art and not for modern/contemporary art lovers. Although you can find some interesting paintings from Dali and other more modern artists, the other floors are flooded with art from pre renaissance and many religious paintings.

Rich museum of famous artists. There are audio guides. You can take pictures without flash. Strict and not friendly caretakers. Part of the work is missing - exported to other exhibitions. Great, great pleasure!
