I never liked Frys but now it's even worst if you can go below bad. Very bad experience. Chaos in the store. Empty spaces with nothing in them. Few lonely items still on the shelves. Felt like the store is shutting down.

Placed a store pickup order. got no email confirmation. Site wouldn't allow placing another order. Customer service advised calling store directly, but local store's number redirects to pre-recorded AVR directly with no option to reach a live person.

Store was half empty when we were there. Staff were chatting and not paying attention to customers. Never mind. We knew what we wanted. Bought a spinner vacuum cleaner on sale. Upon checkout, encountered a half-sleep cashier. Of course, his customer skill lacked. No smile, no greeting, no thank you. I felt sorry for him though... Only the guy at the exit was adequate in his manner.

Meh.

Where has my childhood gone? I grew up learning computers. Build my own computer with parts from Fry's when i was in 6th grade. This place was like going to the Promised Land of Computer Geeks. Now however, it's like going into a ghost town. I guess it's a vicious cycle. They carry less product because less people shop there vs online. Then less people shop there because they have so little product on shelves. Went there to get a UPS for a customer and they had none. Not, they had a few but not the one i wanted. They were completely out, didn't even have a spot for them. It's just sad really. End of a era.

A sad shell of what it used to be. Seems like the company is going through some tough times ... Hope they can survive. I remember when Fry's was my first stop for electronics; now an afterthought

It's a very huge store, due to which it becomes hard to find help in searching an item one is looking for.
After the purchase , there's a person at the exit door who verifies the receipt, similar like they do in Costco .

Been going to this Fry's for years. Staff is hit & miss, but if you're going in there knowing what you want (and having the fry's # of the items you're looking for), you won't have issues. This Fry's seems to be in stock of most items that are out of stock in other nearby locations, so it's worth checking this one first.

Love this location, been shopping here for over 10 years! Pretty good serivce, lots of options on most electronics, and i love the online match price guarantee!!! Always tons of parking too!

My impression is that the Fry's Electronics stores will be going out of business soon. It's sad to see, but many shelves are empty. I found it difficult to find staff working the sales floor. I asked the staff is they were closing, and they said no, but... It's not the store it once was!

I spent 30 minutes trying to explain that a product (keyboard mouse wireless combo by microsoft) exists on Amazon with a reduced price. The lady at the counter genuinely didn't know how to find the product on Amazon and pulled up a wrong link. I thought the manager at that time would know better, but she refused to look at the link I showed , refused to let me show her on her pc. She was outright rude and ignorant. Finally the lady at the counter pulled up the same product on Walmart and matched the price. Quite an irritating experience.

I have been here at least 20 times and this is the first time I had such a bad experience.

I had a terrible experience with Arduino--the kit was dead out of the box and even heated up to the point of burning me! Still, I followed their suggestion to work with their dedicated service team to troubleshoot and did this for over 3 weeks before confirming my initial assessment that there was far too much inconsistency between the hardware, the software, and the print material. So I went to Fry's and they made it all better, including offering to have a new kit shipped at my convenience. The young representative was genuinely interested in resolving my problem (he was not just trying to save face or get an easy smile) and his manager was very good at making sure that we completed the steps to get the new kit shipped.

UPDATE: Fry's remains great and the new ARDUINO kit worked! I still collaborated with the company which is only natural, but the difference now is that it led to functionality. I would just respectfully recommend that they reassess how much troubleshooting should happen before something gets escalated.

They usually have what I need, but it's very annoying to interact with the salespeople. Most of them act like they don't want to be bothered to help you. When they do, they are usually not very knowledgeable, arrogant and struggle with speaking English. Also, since they are all on commission, they are very, very annoying. One time I literally had to tell one of them to leave me alone because he wouldn't stop hovering around me. What prompted me to write a review is that today I went to purchase a laptop to VGA cable and found that the price at the counter was more than the price shown at the shelf. I went back and pointed it out to the salesperson and in a snobby tone he said there was nothing he could do, I would have to pay the higher price. Save yourself the frustration and order online if you can.

Unfortunately, this shop seems to be dying. Half a dozen customers during my prime time visit will not keep it going. Better change the marketing plan....split the space with Target or something.

Great if you want to feel like you're in a post Apocalyptic movie set in the 90s. Zombie-like employees wander the aisles and don't know anything about the products that they sell. I want to support brick and mortar stores but they are making it really hard

Always cool to go there but it is not like it used to be. There are a lot of bare spots on the floor but not all their fault. Times have changed and you need less components to get the job done. More of a nostalgia thing plus traffic all over to get there sucks

One if the biggest showroom for electronics /IT stuff .they did mentioned that they match the price (with their internal verified list vendors only) but they do add the taxes on top of that.Eg- I showed them a lower price on Amazon and they verified it was ok but they added 9% on top of that. Otherwise the visit was good!

Disappointing. I wanted to see a laptop with 4K resolution. The sales rep said there were none on display. I also wanted to discuss support for dual external monitor systems. The sales reps just didn't seem interested in helping. In the past I have purchased a laptop and hi-res monitor from Fry's. So I was surprised at the lack of support. I'll just visit stores other than Fry's in the future.

These guys finally accepted my return! Eric in the repairs department is new but cheerful and helpful. He didn t give me any of the hassle that the managers of the other stores did.

The manager of this store, though, doesn t really know what he s doing. First he insisted on getting my street address when he had my PO Box and I even told him the PO Box rejects mail with only the street number. Next the manager insisted on me giving him my password so they could reset the computer. Both Eric and I told him that wasn t necessary. You need a USB drive to re-flash the system; something they definitely had in the service department. Nevertheless, the manager insisted in a rude, unwelcome, and paternally harsh tone.

Once my return was cleared, I waited to at Customer Service for a refund. The manager came by and could see there were several customers waiting but I guess he was too busy playing games on his phone or working his other investments... he walked away and made everybody wait instead of helping.

In all it took 45 minutes to do a simple return of a near-mint laptop and the store manager displayed the same paternal grossness of the other stores.
