Great place and good views and friendly deer...but the visitors are a bit snooty if you remember your there to have fun you soon forget...its next to Beaufort which is a hidden treasure of fun....including art, dining, and places of historical interest.

We really enjoyed our stay on Fripp Island. The Island was great with the beach and the pools, deer, golf carts and views. However the house was NOT great. There were cockroaches in the home. The bottom drawers in the refrigerator do not work. There was blood on the upstairs sheet set. There is black scum around the shower doors. The pots pans and dishes are terribly unorganized. We had to search for everything. The can opener doesn t work. We were unable to enjoy the screened in porch because of the mosquitos were coming in due to the broken screen. We had to leave bug spray on the porch if we wanted to sit out there. The table and chairs were so dirty on the porch. The chairs in the living room were dirty as well as the couch and carpet. The cushions were turned around wrong when we arrived. The blinds in the bedrooms are broken or missing. We had to use blankets to put over the windows to keep people from seeing in.The Golf cart had batteries that were leaking so even though we had rented two carts we were only able to use one. The neighbors said they spray for bugs but obviously 37 Davis Love doesn't because once the neighbors spray all the bugs come to the house. The yard is not maintained compared some of the other homes. When sitting in the yellow chairs in the living room my keys fell out and I had to left the cushion and there were crumbs and dried cereal on under the cushion. The TV is low definition and the back to the remote is broken. I would say more but I'm running out of characters. Do not stay at 37 Davis Love the pictures on line are not what you will get when you arrive
The island is absolutely beautiful. We stayed in a beautiful home on the marsh, right on the water. Relaxing and peaceful. The deer are simply amazing. Love this island and the beaches at Fripp. Wonderful little restaurants in Frogmore, Lady's Island and Beaufort.
When selecting a room, I was shown a nice picture of a room overlooking the pool. When I arrived we received a terrible room on the ground floor opening directly to a large parking lot. I understand stuff like this can happen, but the response from the management was unapologetic and rude. They refused to make any accommodation and the manager "pretended" not to be in when I tried to speak to him directly. Can't support any resort who treats their customers that way.
I had alot of fun at the island, the view is beautiful and the island nice. The room I stayed in was great and it even had wifi! The animal center was nice, it had snakes, turtle, and even a crocodile. The pizza at the food court was amazing and the ice cream looked so good. The Olympic pool was a nice place to relax and the corn hole tournament was also fun. I had an amazing time at the island and I hope to be coming back soon.
My family and I have just spent 7 days at Fripp. There are definitely nice things about our week here. The pools are nice and the easy ocean access from our condo is very convenient. The beaches are are very family friendly and not overly crowded. We also loved that deer are everywhere. That was great fun. Sadly our condo was dirty and had roaches. The furniture is very old and dirty. The seat cushions on the glass top table set are repulsive they are so nasty. Same with the sectional. The deck is nice but has so much junk stacked on it we had a hard time sitting out there. That includes a huge cooler with old wet cardboard/trash and even old beer cans laying around it. . The deck table and chairs were very dirty. The kitchen cupboards are dirty! The carpet is old and filthy to the point of being hard in places. We spent the first day cleaning so we felt a little better after that. The biggest disappointment was the attitudes of the employees. We found the restaurant employees very unfriendly. There is an attitude of annoyance for being bothered by guests (my family anyway). Not just once but every where we went to eat on Fripp. We went to Bonito first and found the food pretty good but the hostess seemed annoyed that because we were a bigger family we had to sit separately due to Covid. I m not sure why that was such a bother. They treated us as if we were asking for special treatment. We told them we didn t mind and asked for the porch area. After much discussion and putting their heads together they agreed to give us tables. There were no other people at the tables on the porch at that time. Amazing... They did ultimately serve us but we felt uncomfortable. We were pretty stunned. The cabana had decent burgers but boy you had to deal with BIG attitude to get it. The woman who appeared to be manager did what was expected of her but she took her time and you knew she was in charge. Plenty of attitude! The 2 other servers were completely nonverbal the entire time. They would not respond in any way. Again they brought your food, etc. but that was it. No communication. We were so happy to get out of there. I have never had an experience like that. The last time we tried to have dinner out at fripp we went to the Mexican restaurant at 5:30 which was the time it opened. My daughter went in ahead of our group to get us in (since Covid we try not to all pile in even with masks)... when the hostess found out how many were in our group she got aggravated. She condescendingly explained the rules to my daughter. My daughter told her we understood and had no problem sitting at separate tables. After a tense moment my daughter asked if we could have 3 tables on the porch.?to which the hostess replied, Ahh No! A lady who appeared to be in charge overheard the conversation and asked what was going on. My daughter repeated the gist of it and she said of course we can get you 3 tables. By this time though things had gotten so unpleasant we just left and got meals out off the island for the rest of our stay. By the way we were the first customers to enter the restaurant since we got there when they opened. Every single table inside and outside were available. . We do not plan to vacation at Fripp Island again.
We come down to Fripp every summer for a week at the beach with family. It's a beautiful island with lots of sandy beach and wildlife. Beaufort is easily accessible for shopping and good restaurants. The restaurant scene on Fripp is lacking, but the rest of the amenities are nice. If you are visiting, making sure your rental unit includes amenities cards or you can't do anything but go to your house and the beach. Pools, dining, tennis, golf cart rentals, etc. all require an amenities card. It is also a nice bonus when use of a golf cart is included in the rental, because it is much easier to get around the island and find parking island by golf cart.
This was our second time to Fripp Island Resort and the island itself is beautiful and has a lot to offer. However the rental we stayed in, 326 Ocean Point, is in dire need of updating. First off the place was dirty, far from clean. All of the appliances worked but some were falling apart. The carpet in the place is filthy and very worn. You are unable to control the thermostat due to needing a pin number to unlock it. We requested it and never received it. Top it all off with we are now covered in bed bug bites.
Beautiful beach, amenities, pool, and restaurants. All of the staff were great. Rooms are super nice and clean. The little community here is perfect. I would recommend it to anybody.
We had our wedding at Fripp Island Resort and although the weather didn't cooperate, the staff at Fripp were so accommodating and provided the best service we could've hoped for. Nicole at group sales is an absolute angel and we loved working with her for every detail of our special day. If you have an event to set up at Fripp, ask for Nicole. You won't be disappointed!
Fripp is a phenomenal island getaway. The beaches are still great despite recovering from the recent hurricane. There are multiple top tier golf courses and restaurans.
Beware the reviews here are fake and do not accurately represent this resort. BEWARE OF THEIR UNCLEANLINESS, HORRIBLE ATTITUDE AND BED BUGS!!!!To start off I booked this place for a small vacation after reading all these good reviews . Sadly our stay was nothing close to enjoyable. We traveled down from GA so we used the address they provided us from the email that confirmed our reservation from this resort only for it to lead us to an empty building over 30 miles away from the actual resort. We lost FOUR hours in the middle of the night trying to figure out where we should go. We tried to get in contact with someone who could maybe direct us to the island, putting in the address provided into multiple map applications, and even going to the site itself to the suite we booked and tried to get directions from there. All lead to a dead end. We eventually asked someone at the gas station and luckily they have stayed at the suite before and directed us to the island. Upon getting to the gate we were greeted by the rudest old lady who yelled, got attitude with us, and even rolled her eyes as we were explaining the situation. Despite all we went through we kept moving since we were extremely tired after driving around aimlessly trying to find this place. Finally, arrived at our destination just to find there was NO adequate parking available for guests. We ended parking far away from the resort and had to carry all of our items almost half a mile away. Upon arrival at our suite we found the room to be dirty, giving us stained sheets, disgusting silverware, pots and pans, we even found dirty underwear in the shelf where the bunk beds were! After reporting this to both the workers and MANAGEMENT they gave us the nastiest attitudes and told us there s nothing that they can do about. We paid for what we got. My stuff is now also infested by bed bugs so bad that I had to throw away all of my things before getting back in the car and going home. I would absurd prices for horrible service and quality. I would take your business elsewhere or just get an Airbnb. It would be the better route. Well ANYTHING is better than this resort . You people are frauds and the most unprofessional and unpleasant people I have ever dealt with.
EDIT TO RESPOND TO SAID OWNER: that s interesting you guys care now to rectify but when we not only visited and called we were given attitude, told it wasn t your fault that it was ours and hung up on. But for the public eye you now want to rectify this situation? I d love to hear more about how you plan to rectify this experience which is so you know the worst experience I ve ever had including other motels I ve stayed in that was rated 2stars. At least they knew what customer service is about.
Wonderful beaches! Food court quality has suffered some. Don't forget to take your amenity card with you everywhere. Some folks get extremely legalistic about it.
Stayed at "Be As You Are" on Wahoo Dr. But, this review is for the whole, at least what I saw of it. Very isolated island, but with decent amenities. Right against Hunting Island State Park. Lots of beach front. A number of pools (the one on the south/west end was great for kids). Golfcourse. Playgrounds. Easy access by golf cart to any place on island. Overall great for the family.
Nice place. Quiet and not crowded. Bar and restaurant staff seem like they are annoyed a lot of the time, but they still serve you so I guess that's good. If you are looking for a quiet low key beach trip, come here.
Very disappointed in the lack of care for customers. We have been renting through Fripp Island Resort every summer for the past 7 years. Our kids have such great memories on the island. Fell on hard times this year, asked if we could transfer our deposit to another, less expensive home - we were told 'yes' by one employee (Luissanna) but upon trying to book a new property, were told 'no' by another employee (Tasha), that money was gone -a fee for canceling- even though we had no intention of canceling. $225 is a lot to our family this summer, and what's worse, the resort refused to even look into the situation for us which is very sad, especially given current times. Can't see booking with them again when repeat customers aren't valued, and there is zero effort extended to make things right. Will remain a special place to us but with all your options for vacations beware of the lack of care for customers here.
Construction work! Buyer be aware!! Who would want to go on a vacation and spend your money to have construction work going on your unit?! And, 'no' I was not told ahead of time! For the low price of my hard earned money I get to listen to loud music, air nail gun, banging, beating and yelling! Not to mention people barging in and changing a mattress (throwing belongings on the floor) without any notice!! I won't be back!
The specific unit I stayed in was amazing. However, if the owner of the unit you are renting from isn't a club member, you can't do anything on the island besides the beach. You can't even buy a weekly pass from the club. The owner explained this process and it was fine. My husband and I enjoyed a relaxing beach vacation. The pool and beach bar looked nice, but we didn't get to use them.
