Classic food the never fails to fill you up. Prices are higher in recent years, but that is happening everywhere. Owner is there regularly to check on things (after it had problems when someone else was "managing" it. Alumni (and former IV residents) always there eating talking about how this is one of their favorite spots. Miss having t-shirts for sale, but photos on the walls still bring back great memories. Also miss the Kitchen Sink burrito.

Small portions for way over priced food. Not for the students there prices are ridiculous and there food isn t that good. Plenty of places near that are cheaper and much better tasting.

I literally drive over an hour to come here. By far my favorite Mexican food restaurant. I used to come here all the time when I used to work in Santa Barbara. It was definitely worth the trip.

One of my favorite places to go to when I'm in town in IV. Although they are not open 24/7 anymore, they're still open pretty late. The quality has not changed since I was in college. The line moves fast and they give you a lot. My favorites are the nachos or the quesarito. Great spot to grab a bite and people watch.

Hands down best burritos in the Santa Barbara area.

The local food is the same as I ate at school 15 years ago. A shop that likes Burritos and Quesaderia.

Everyone who knows Freebirds knows that this is one of the best places to get massive burritos, nachos and quesadillas. If you are feeling extra hungry and adventurous... try the Quesa-nacha-rito!

Delicious food. I always split the nachos with another person and have left overs. Pro tip: Put BBQ sauce on whatever you get (just try it).

Always good. Food hasn't changed in the 20 years I've been going, only the prices!

I absolutely love this place for the late night people watching. And of course the food. The guacamole is made every 2 hrs, just to stay fresh. They are on it, when it gets busy, I love the we won't put up with your drunkenness, you are either in line to eat, or move along. I imagine since they've been doing this since before there was a Chipotle, so everything is fresh, and quick and simple. Prices are pricey, but the quantity of food you get makes it worthy, and you go for more than just the food. Freebirds is an experience.

Delicious first time there did not disappoint. Did the Quesaritto which is a quesadilla turned into a burrito.

Tasty but not a discount joint and seating is limited. Didn't see a restroom, and didn't ask so maybe there is one...

Shameful that this freebirds has neither the tortilla selection nor the pork nor the queso of a real freebirds. Might as well be a chipotle.

Great food in a pretty small and crowded building. A lot of drunk students at night so long lines. Guac is kind of expensive. Also always get the monster burrito because it's 1$ more but ~50% girthier.

This is our Gorge out place, everything Fresh. Cooked. But prices have skyrocketed... dont knos about returning...

Best nachos on planet earth! I got the steak nachos and it was enormous! It was basically 2 meals. So fresh and delicious!

Freebirds is a classic. It's a burrito bar- like Chipotle, but with way danker, more authentic tasting ingredients. The refried beans here are bomb! I'd hiiighly recommend the nachos for special occasions.

Got the Monster. Burrito tasty from beginning to end brst burrito. Place in world those who doubt have no taste buds better than chipolte and Super Cucas by far they are the superioi burrito in world!!!#

This is one of the few Mexican places in Isla Vista. Not my favorite Mexican in the area but it is still pretty good and very filling. My personal favorite is the quesadilla. Its a bit pricey in my opinion for the quality but its a good local choice.

Late night crew sometimes have to watch them because they think you're too drunk to pay attention to your food but overall great taste and service. Low-key stingy with the meat but hella tasty and fresh.

Freebirds is one of the go to places in IV. I love how freebirds is open so late because when you're up all night studying and need some substantial food this place always has your back. The staff is pretty nice and gets your food made super quick. If you're in a rush they can hook it up for you nice and fast. They have a cool outside patio too that looks out into IV. The only thing I would say is its pretty crowded at lunch times and a little expensive but by far some of the best Mexican food around.

Fast, good food and a nice atmosphere. Super good food, I mean, I just like burritos in general, but I would prefer this place over Chipotle any day. Love it!

Ehh still good but not as good as I remember and the prices went up alil, don't get me wrong I will be back but with super cucas just down the st prob not as much.

We have this same restaurant back in Texas and noticed that there was one here so we tried it. Food was on par but also noticed that there workers were not wearing gloves. Strange normally but especially now...

This is the place to go for an enormous "comfort" burrito. There's always a line, but that's not the staffs fault, as they always seem to be working incredibly fast. Prices are a little steep, but if you're in the mood for a plate of nachos, or a Quesorito, this is the place.

Good food, reasonable prices. This place is great, there is parking in back which is a huge benefit considering what a nightmare parking in IV can be. Among the locals this place is famous. I have lived in Isla Vista for a couple months now and this is one of the better restaurants I have been to. There are a lot of people sometimes and it can be a bit dirty outside but other than that no complaints.

I used to branch off from my friends at the end of a night of partying + come here. Usually it's so freaking packed that if you just integrate yourself into the line/mass of people you can find a guy to flirt with who will buy your food LOL wild place + great quesadillas

I have been going here for years! Delicious burritos and nachos. I normally get chicken but they also have veggie and steak options. They have my favorite horchata in all of Goleta/SB. Their cookies are sooo good too!

Wow wow wow wow wow . Most amazing food fresh and large and healthy if u want it to be. Not to be missed. Love it. Prices are high but worth it. If lowered would go there more often . Love it

The first time I went to Freebirds, I was an undergrad. Over 10 years later, it's sill my favorite burrito place and I make sure to go there everytime I visit Santa Barbara. The food is delicious

A very nice Mexican place in the small town of Santa Barbara. It has very nice food. While their menu in general is delicious, I love the quesadilla that they serve. It's extremely delicious, flavorful and has sufficient quantity for 2 light eaters.

Freebirds never disappoints. Anything you get here is always delicious.

Food was fine, portions yuuuuge! Atmosphere okay, outside seating was really nice in nice weather.

A bit more than I would like to spend but the serving sizes and the food its self is well worth it.

Great place to get a lot of Mexican food. The food itself isn't bad, but it's not amazing either. Prices are a little high so I dropped a star.
