Love this place, it's probably the most relaxing attraction to visit. Every person I encountered was helpful and informative. The gardens are spectacular and I highly recommend the narrated tram ride. Currently has construction near the entrance... But it does not have any real adverse effect on your day.

Took 11, 6, and 4-year-olds during the afternoon. They had a wonderful time in the children's indoor play/sculpt area, the indoor gardens, and the Children's Garden. 11-year-old enjoyed the Japanese Garden. They wanted to stay longer, but our time today was limited.

This is a beautiful place and is well worth the price of admission. My wife and I visited on a beautiful summer day with the temperatures in the low 80's. The highlight of this visit was the boardwalk where we were treated to a symphony of bull frog croaks and bird song. We watched a family of ducks feeding and observed a muskrat going about its morning routine. The rest of the park was also great but on this day the man made sculptures couldn't compete with the beauty of nature. I also enjoyed the carnivorous plant section in the conservatory.

Grand Rapids is a city of surprises and unexpected gems. The Meijer Gardens were donated by a local founder of the food chain Meijer s Thrifty Acres. The garden isn t huge, but is a fine example of urban design. The sculpture was the highlight of our vidit

Great variety of different plants. They have some tropical birds, as well. Desert, tropical, carnivorous, and Victorian. Very impressed. We got the season pass so we can check it out when they change things up.

Oh, boy, the Meijer Gardens... they are magnificent year-round. During the summer, there are many sections of the park worth seeing, with my personal favorite being the Japanese garden. If it is raining or cold outside, however, the indoor sections also have a wealth of exhibits, such as the tropical and desert sections.

This is a lovely place. Lots to explore while you are here. They host many great events and exhibits. Staff is always friendly. Right now the parking is (FAR) away because of the construction, hopefully spring 2020 they will be done. If you are a Senior citizen...be prepared. The walk feels like a quarter of a mile if not more.
The little restaurant also has REALLY good food. I had soup and a veggie artichoke sandwich under $10. Make a day of going, everything is under 1 roof.

I always love it here. As a member I frequent it often. I'm excited for the expansion.
Interesting and varied sculptures. The little gallery is great. The cafe always has good nibbles. I just love it here.

We got a membership for Christmas. Keeping that in mind it was a neat place to take the kids. Had I paid full price my opinion would be different but my wife plans on taking the kids several times so the membership will definitely get used. All the staff was very friendly. It looks like there will be more to do once the weather warms up so I'm interested in checking it out again when that happens.

Overwhelming is probably the best word to describe...

Overwhelming is probably the best word to describe the garden and sculpture park. The greenhouse holds a nice collection of carnivorous plants, succulents, orchids, and yes, they do cultivate a corpse flower (amorphophallus titanum). The Japanese Garden is well designed with plenty of water features, stairs, nicely crafted wood structures, and sculptures. It might take another 20 years before the garden is grown-in and offers the refinement and tranquility you would expect, but it is fun to see the work in progress and some of the design choices can be better appreciated when in succession.
The sculpture park is a true park but with an emphasis on sculptures. Rodin, Miro, Ai WeiWei, Moore, Keith Haring, Lieberman, .. take your time and experience the sculptures from far away and close up, from different angles, and if you can, in different light.

A place where sculptures can shine even more outdoors. Along with the natural lighting of sunlight, artificial beauty in the surrounding nature gives an unnatural but unobtrusive charm. Great place to stay with family. ^^

Fun place to hang out and spend hours wandering around looking at numerous types of garden environments, as well as greenhouse collections. Make sure you take some time to slowly meander the Japanese Garden, it can be very relaxing. We also noticed the Children's Garden seemed quite popular with the little ones, lots of things for them to climb around on and see there. The Sculpture Park is probably more interesting to some folks than others, a lot of it is abstract art so not everyone will appreciate it but it makes for a nice walk if the weather is good.

This place is absolutely beautiful. They're currently expanding the area right now so there's a lot of construction going on outside. This leaves you with a long walk up to the building, but let me tell you, it's definitely worth it! You can see all of the different types of vegetation that grows in separate regions of the world and each plant is labeled accordingly. It's worth checking out!

This place has to show lots of fabulous sculptures which we enjoyed during our train ride. There is a ton of walking, beautiful scenery, and benches! Plus some cool indoor feature rooms, like a cactus room, a carnivorous plant room, and etc. I recommend it on a nice day. The statuary was eclectic ranging from traditional to modern abstract. During the holiday season they've featured elaborate Christmas trees, and this summer they have an Alice in Wonderland theme in their children's garden area. The entire experience has always been great.

Visited here for the butterfly exhibit and had a great time. Some of the sculptures are funky, but it's a lovely place to walk around in the summer! Staff are super friendly and price also isn't super expensive I dont think.

Beautiful artwork.

Beautiful artwork.
There are a few flaws to be noticed, in particular the Japanese garden that was not laid out to perfection.

Pump for waterfall is visible, the plastic in which boulders are visible. That is really un-Japanese. This can easily be improved with a little effort.

The Gardens & sculpture are everything everyone has said about them - totally amazing. However there was a HUGE disappointment in the fact that visitors, especially seniors with limited walking ability, are not shuttled from the distant areas of the parking lots to the main entrance. Surely a grave omission in a place as large and flush this.

I have always enjoyed trips to Fred Meijer Gardens. The butterflies in the spring, the outdoor gardens and sculpture parks in the summer, and the banquets indoor in the fall and winter. They also host two bonsai shows every year and many other shows.
