My mom and I went there for a little nature walk. I love the environments inside the building, like the one I know as the desert (because of all the cactus there), and my favorite, the one I know as the jungle! It's enormous! I also can't wait for the weather to be warmer again so I can play at the Great Lakes area, and more! The gardens is a great place full of nature!

Lovely gardens. Interesting sculptures. We were there for 3.5 hours and didn't see everything. We do like to read all the labels though. If I lived near by, I'd definitely buy a membership. The children's garden was awesome.

We were in Grand Rapids for another event and decided to visit Meijer Gardens based on the good reviews and Meijer being my favorite grocery store. The gardens are amazing. We all enjoyed it including 2 teenage boys. The Japanese gardens were very nice and surrounded by water. I've been tho many gardens but I haven't seen this much water around. We also saw a sand garden that was part of the Japanese gardens and was really cool.

Butterfly Exhibit was a blast again. Kids and adults alike love to see these beautiful creatures.

The Butterfly book this year is amazing and all butterflies are tactile on the pages. My son loved that about them.

Definitely worth a day or two or more! The membership is definitely worth it if you live nearby. Amazing to watch the landscape and plants change over time and the park always seems to have something going on. Am especially excellent place to bring children, since it has lots to look at, an indoor play area, and an outdoor play area with water tables, sand pits, a big tree house thing, and more!

Absolutely gorgeous place. A complete blast for a family trip. They have an awesome Treehouse for your kids to play. Stunning scenery. They even have a train to ride around the whole place. And if you need an event center to get married there's not a more beautiful place.

Always have a wonderful time here. We spent the entire day exploring the grounds for my mother's birthday and it was just an overall great experience. So much to see and do. The cafeteria is delicious as well. They even serve alcohol which is nice because a little booze helps make the experience more fun. The Japanese gardens was one of my favorite parts

We thought we were too early for the butterflies but they were already starting to hatch. The sculptures were fun even though it was cold and the Rebecca Louise Law Womb exhibit was amazing.

I really wish I could have spent more time here, but it's very pretty, both outside and indoors! This place must have some awesome donors and people who believe in the vision, and that's evident in the outcomes there! Great family facility.

Delightful gardens. We spent over five hours here and could have stayed longer. The Japanese gardens are georgous and a must see. The Sculpture gardens made for a relaxing walk. I'd you have children, the Children's garden is so fun but also see the farm!

I spent the morning at Frederick Meijer Gardens with my 2-year-old grandson. We had so much fun! The children's area is so well laid out with so many adventures to be enjoyed. We can't wait to come back.

Love coming here year round! Fantastic staff and the building is tastefully designed. Flower and Bonsai shows plus a beautiful sculpture park and japanese garden. A real treat in the spring to come in and see the butterflies too. I'm grateful I live so close to this beautiful park.

10/10

My wife and I were married at the gardens 15 years ago so we always enjoy going back. We love and enjoy everything about the garden. Concerts are enjoyable as well. The butterflies are amazing.

Excellent. A lot of building work going on around the outside but what a fabulous place. It was out of season when we went and hardly anyone was there. Gardens and statues are amazing. Japanese gardens are a must see as is the film showing the design and building of them. Food was good in cafe and staff super friendly, all appearing to be older volunteers. Would love to see it when renovations/extensions are complete. Would imagine very busy in peak season however.

Wow. What an amazing place to enjoy as a family, as a couple, or for some thoughtfulness on your own! I was blown away by the Christmas display they had; it exhibited decorations for different countries. The gardens and indoor atrium are beautiful. The kids tree house area is awesome! So many great locations for family photos, and a great place to keep in mind for homecoming and prom photos as well!

This place was great, highly recommend stopping by when visiting the Grand Rapids area. Variety of plants and sculptures throughout the park. Easily walkable in 3-4 hours while taking time for pics and soaking in the view. They also offer a bus that takes you around to see all the sites but I'd recommend walking around to get a closer view and you can also take your own time in different areas. They have a section specifically for kids as well!

Butterflies are beautiful. I go every year. I knocked it down a star for the price and the rude volunteers. The grumpy old volunteers every year are barking at anyone and everyone. This years parking construction has you getting steps in for the day, no coverage from weather. Walking all that distance.

It's a wonderful spot for folks of all ages. Google Meijer Gardens for details -- there's just too much to out here. I brought a three year old. He LIVES it and wanted to go back the next day! They have a wonderful and fun children's area. I'm buying a membership. It's very inexpensive and I'll be able to go as often as I want.

One of my favorite places to go. Great entrance price for all there is to see. Beautiful sculptures, paintings, etc. Love the feature room that changes often. Japanese Gardens were great addition. Climate rooms indoors are very cool and educational. Clean. Friendly staff. Beautiful place to go for the art lover.

Went here for a concert, and it was a beautiful venue! Easy access and wasn't troublesome getting in or out. It was so much fun and we really enjoyed being there. Would love to come back for another event later!

I have been a longtime fan of FMG. Things I love about the gardens:

- I have kids and the children's garden is a substantial source of entertaining, safe, educational, outdoor fun. There is a giant water table shaped like the great lakes, a sensory garden, a giant wooden treefort/house, a log cabin, a sand area for digging up "fossils", a nature trail, and more to explore.

- I am a plant enthusiast and the FMG has at least 10 different classy and elegantly maintained gardens to delight all my plant loving needs. They also hold plant shows throughout the year. My personal favorite is the annual Orchid Show in January :) I recently found out they keep a massive number of orchids, but circulate the flowering ones into the indoor gardens. I love that.

- These are huge gardens with labeled plants and sculptures, and places to sit and ponder. You can wander the gardens for a very long time. I have been there many times and I still dont think I have seen everything there is to see.

- FMG celebrates the arts and I do too. So I like that, but if you arent really into art, then some of the charm of the gardens might not wow you. I still think everyone should visit at least once.

-They have a cafe. Its very nice. Kinda pricey, but very nice. Good grasp on hospitality among all food service workers.

- They hold great concerts at their amphitheater. Their concerts sell out quickly. Members get special access to tickets.

- Membership is available at multiple levels and is pretty affordable.

- Event facilities available.

- World class staff and volunteers have great customer service which makes every visit to the gardens a great experience.

One of the finest gardens you will ever visit in the whole country. Make sure you have on your must see list.
It is easy to view the garden by foot or by the shuttles that are provided. The shuttle drivers are very good at telling the history/story of each landscape artwork and the history of the gardens development itself.
