Love the butterfly exhibit, as always! It's one of there busiest times of the year for a reason!
Splendide endroit avec son jardin japonais. ses statuts des grands sculpteurs le jardin d'enfants, la serre...
Great place to visit. Beautiful gardens awesome sculptures. Great place for kids
Very cool place. Definitely somewhere to go if you are in the area and enjoy artsy stuff and nature. They have a beautiful cafe with some great food and drink choices. Prices are good too!
Beautiful gardens and sculptures
Affordable, student discounts
Great time enjoying the Frederik Meijer Gardens, 1000 E Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525. Look forward to my next visit here!
You will never find a more beautiful garden , inside and out !!! Sculptures throughout the outside gardens . A must , a trolley tour with a guide to explain all the sculptures in Spring , summer and fall !!!

12th month of the year when i like that they have concerts tram 66
Great experience, lovely exhibits all around. I recently visited the Ai Wei Wei show. It was displayed beautifully and the staff were friendly and very informative. The gardens and gallery does an excellent job getting world renowned artist's work on display. I visit regularly and enjoy it every time. Fredrick Myer Gardens is a must see for the West Michigan area.
Meijer Gardens was beautiful for the time of year. Awesome sculptures and Japanese garden. The parking was way to far from the entrance and I'm hoping it's due to construction. Maybe next year I'll try again.
I bring my son here almost every week. Great place.
Fantastic place. I have been here for my wedding, on weekends and just to go to decompress. Always very clean and well maintained facilities in addition to being huge and a good place to do some walking. Looking forward to the upcoming completed renovations.
Very beautiful. It's calm and quite soothing. The Japanese garden is a sight.
This attraction is under massive construction. There is more area under construction than there is under the exhibits' rooves.
The highlight of the attraction is the indoor exhibits, and the highlight of the indoor exhibits is either the tropical room or the carnivorous plant room. Videos are included of both. The tropical room has birds as well as plants. Some tropical trees reach the ceiling, probably 40' up.
The carnivorous room has a few sundews, a group of Venus fly traps, and gazillions of pitcher plants. I grow sundews, Venus fly traps, and pitcher plants at home, so I appreciate the amazing display of so many specimens and varieties that they have.
There is one indoor art gallery, but most 3D art is massive and outdoors. There are acres of wild fields with sculptures placed in the middle, or in little culdesacs cut into the trees. The tram ride through the sculptures is tedious and long. There's nothing to see most of the time unless you are in the front of the tram where the narrator is.
The bonsai exhibit in the Japanese garden is small but very nice; probably the highlight of the Japanese garden. The Japanese garden has several small streams that you can stick your fingers in.
There is a large children's area with water, aerial tree houses, and plant sections as well as a snack bar and bathrooms.
Admission is $14.5 for adults, and the tram ride around the sculpture gardens is another $4. An average meal runs about $15.
The tram ride was interminable. The guide didn't know his stuff, and he couldn't even read his script we'll . He read as the front of the tram was parked at the exhibit. The back of The tram often didn't get to see the exhibit much. Don't sit at the back of the lead car on the tram. The engine is underneath and it will rattle your dentures out .
The map of the grounds is fairly useless. The interiors are labeled, but only the sculptures and major points outdoors are labeled on the map. If you want the tram, it's not on the map.
It's hard to select places to meet; benches and rest points aren't labeled on the map.
All in all a very nice attraction. I hope to come back.
Don't forget to "like" reviews and photos you like. This helps the reviewer.
One of my favorite spots in GR. A Wonderful place any time of year
Lots of nature to look, kids play area, I personally like flowers the most.
I've lived in the area for four years and finally made it here, it's absolutely beautiful. My wife and I can't wait to come back!
Enjoyed the entire Christmas display and hope to revisit again next summer
We attended a summer concert four years ago and continue to come back every summer. The venue is surrounded by the gardens and the seating is ideal with good views from every spot.
Nice place to take a walk and enjoy some nature and/or art. Very affordable in you get the annual family pass.
This is one of our favorite destinations in the Midwest. Be sure to visit when the butterflies are there, usually around spring break. Great for all ages.
Try to get here at least once every year or so. Interesting sculptures spread out throughout the venue. Japanese Garden is exceptional. The Children's Garden can be enjoyed by all. They always seem to be adding something new and interesting.
The Japanese garden was amazing, wish I had more time to just relax and enjoy it during my visit.
I'm amazed at the size of the gardens and how well kept it is! There are really neat things to see here.
This is a wonderful place for kids and adults. Their themed gardens and the attractions inside and outside make fun for all ages all year round.
The museum has late opening time on Sunday. As a tourist I find it unfriendly becuase you are short on time. Museums and any sucb place should have early opening times on weekends. Though the lady at reception was very polite and friendly and there is ample parking space available.
AMAZING! I ve been to FMG many times, over a dozen, in all seasons. It never disappoints. An entire garden for kids with lots to keep them busy. Get walking or riding the tram. If you ride the tram stay in the front car for best viewing. Walk through a forest or meadow. The Japanese garden is beautiful. A working farm is on the property. There is a very nice cafe with Chihully on the ceiling. Beer and wine. I went to a Dahlia show and was blown away by the beauty of the flowers.
Butterflies, sculptures, walking and internal bus tours
You can spend many hours walking about the gardens. Then stop and sit for a spell on the many benches throughout after seeing so many sculptures.
Excellent gardens well worth visiting but may not be all that interesting for smaller kids for an extended period. The outdoor areas are much more kids friendly and there's plenty of grassy area to lounge and hang out.
My whole family truly loved and enjoyed the experience of getting to enjoy Nature's beautiful beauty on my Mother's birthday!!
Great place to spend the day, so many things to see and do.
Beautiful art in the sculpture garden, botanical gardens are very cool too!a must do in Gran rapids
Love, love, love the butterfly exhibit. Entry fee is fairly reasonable. Great place for kids to explore....very educational. Frederik Meijer Gardens is a lovely day experience
Great concert venue/pavilion. Comfortable and convenient layout. Exit staff well managed.
We were there when it was 50 degrees and sprinkling rain. We road the tram which is about 45 minutes long. I recommend doing this first so you get a feel for everything and get to see a lot. We were so cold we went inside to look at the exhibits. We were there 2.5 hours and didn t even walk outside much due to the weather, but it s incredible. Others talked about parking issues, but we didn t have any, I guess because the weather wasn t ideal. It seemed to have several lots. Staff was very friendly. If it s a pretty day you could easily spend 4+ hours there.
Great place to just hang out and see all the different plants! Every time I go there's always a different set up with different plants! You can find your inner peace in the Japanese Gardens or sail you boat on Lake Michigan in the children's garden. Walk across a board walk and see many animals Or refuel with great tasting food (defiantly better than cafeteria food)!
The gardens always are fun to look around at interesting plants and fascinating sculptures.
This place is wonderful for everyone. Be it for kids or adults or seniors. A must visit place. Also it is wheel chair accessible throughout.
We went on the time of Dahlia festival and the flowes were beautiful.
They have beautiful botonical garden the verity of plants is amazing. We really liked the carnivores plants and that section is always packed with people.
There is a good little area for kids with a treehouse and sandpit called chindrens garden so kids have fun too.
The sculptures are amazing. If you have it in you please walk to all the sculptures, we took the cart ride which goes around and shows the sculptures but unfortunately thats not recommended if you wanna do photography.
They have a beautiful Japanese garden as wll, which we couldn t visit this time coz it started to rain.
I took 1 star off coz the in-house cafeteria has very limited options and is a joke. After such a walk everyone want some real food but they have nothing good. If they had some food this visit would have been perfect. So take ur own food if you are planning to go coz you are gonna need it coz the place is huge snd requires a lot of walking.
Fantastic the Christmas trees from around the world are something to see.
Fantastic place to visit. Pick a nice day, the outdoor gardens are amazing.
Meijer garden is a fantastic place to visit. Even in winters, you can still enjoy the sculptures, and when the warther returns to sunny, it's a must visit
Huge. Beautiful garden. Interesting greenhouses. Area for children with fantastic experiences.
While the place was beautiful, it was our first time going and didn't know our way around or anything and a few of the staff were extremely rude to us. The butterfly garden and indoor kid area were awesome though! Pretty bummed the experience started off so harshly.
My wife and had a wonderful time, can't wait to see the Christmas tree event.
Absolutely beautiful gardens have a pass to go there I need to get back there more
Beautiful place, little busy but it is just proof of its popularity.
Great for kids and adults. Japanese garden was amazing.
Way bigger than I expected! Lots of sculptures and a butterfly house to visit. I reccomend the tram ride.
So much fun!! Walking through and seeing all the plants and art is a great way to spend a few hours out of your weekend!!
This is a must do if you're in the area. Great for people of all ages. There is easily enough to spend an entire day.
Perfect for a date night or bringing the kids! Very peaceful!
Butterflies in bloom were worth every penny. Crowded so don't expect to hurry through.
Went there for a seminar and want to come back to take pictures.
Fun and Beautiful. My daughter loves the butterflies.
The long walk because of construction SUCKED. Beautiful place with friendly service.
Very cool place. The Christmas tree exhibit was a lot of fun to walk though and get pictures
This is one of my favorite places to bring guest from out of town. Admission is kinda high so it's more like a treat. Chulilly was my favorite exhibit and of course the butterflies.
