Wonderful! Must see if you are in Grand Rapids. Great for kids of all ages.
Wow! My first time there. Loved it! The Christmas trees were a good look at other countries and their cultures.
The gardens are absolutely stunning!!! They are truly one of nature's miracles, and you cant help but blow up your phones storage with hundreds of pictures! The bus tour takes about 45 minutes and shows you a lot of sculptures and drives past the gardens, so if you are all for the sculptures, go on the bus tour, if youre more for the gardens, you should walk around. They are truly creative, full of color and beauty and definitely worth your time!!
Lots of walking . I enjoyed all of the different sculptures that they have there.
It's a great place to take your kids and see all kind of different butter fly's in one place
Enjoyable time, friendly staff, cool rain forest, and gardens. Sculptures are a wonderful surprise.
My son had fun, it was really busy and full of people. The only thing for snacks and drinks that was available were vending machines that are very pricy.
Wonderful Sculpture park and beautiful gardens. I have a membership here and love all of the seasonal activities.
I am so glad we got the family membership! This is a perfect place to bring my toddler and elementary age son for a fun outing any time of the year especially summer.
The BEST botanical garden I have ever been to. Impossible to explore completely in one visit. I will be back again and again. So beautiful, serene and informative. They have truly created a world wonder here!
Happened to visit here during last days of fall and it was very cold outside to enjoy the beauty of the park to the fullest. There are lot of sculptures in and around. Indoor was beautifully decorated with lot of Christmas trees of each country. The volunteers was really sweet and kind. Would definitely revisit during summer.
Always a pleasure and they are planting 709 trees during their renovation.
Amazing! I can't believe we waited this long to visit. Beautiful scenery, gorgeous flowers, fantastic and interesting sculptures. We took the tram tour first and were glad that we did. It gave us an overlook of the entire park and ideas of what we wanted to see first. We will be going back again to see what it looks like during the different seasons.
Meijer Gardens is such a lovely place. All year round when you visit your senses are just served such beauty and wonder you don't know what to do. Sigh or say ohhh or ahhh or just say wonderful or God surely has blessed this place and these artists from groundskeeper to the artists involved inside of paintings and sculptures. I thank my friend for always taking me in as her guest.
I lived in Michigan 30 years prior to moving to Georgia. This was my first visit, and I loved it. It's so BEAUTIFUL!
Honestly so amazing. The Japanese Gardens were jaw dropping. Loved the experience. 10/10 will go again when I'm back in town
Hadn't been in over 10 years and all the improvements are incredible. The sculpture park walk is my favorite. Just wish they were open later into the evening.
Tuesday night concerts in the summer are very nice. Visiting the davinci horse this time of year is the best.
If you like outdoors Fred Meijer Gardens is perfect for you. Even better if you love art. If you get the membership is much better, you get in for free for a full year (tickets are 19$ per person)
This place is beautiful with the nicest people. It's always a fun day!
Get to go back again and again... Every season has a reason... And every step we take, makes a new memory. #auric
Always love a visit to the gardens! My two year old loves all of the plants and birds, but especially the butterflies. It's never wasted time. Can't wait to visit the children's garden this summer!
This is truly a magnificent gem of the Grand Rapids area. One of most beautiful and relaxing places in town. The Japanese Style Garden alone is worth the price of a visit or of a membership
Gorgeous, amazing gardens with a lot to see. I'd recommend the Japanese garden for sure.
Nice place for family outting. Peaceful and relaxed setting. Highly recommended.
It was the most marvelous day. We saw the decorated trees and the butterfly garden area. We weren't rushed. Help was available if needed. In plan to go again.
One of Grand Rapids best attractions. Amazing grounds and really good concert series during summers
Amazing grounds which I wasn't able to see all of. Seems like a great place for a date, wedding, family outing, or other!
My wife and I recently visited for the first time. Great place to walk around and relax. Our kids loved it too. Their concert area is pretty great as well.
It's great but slightly over priced. Wonderful concerts in summer.
Super fun place to go with the kids! We went over spring break. Definitely an experience we wont forget!
This place is my place to regroup and relax. Every season is different. You must see every change. Bravo Fred! This is a place I would love to work.
Lots of beautiful things to see. The kids loved it.
Visiting family up in Michigan- i was looking for things to do in the general area of grand rapids/lansing. Found this cool place in google- was worth every penny. I would come back to this place when i visit again.
Nice to go to, but would probably be nicer if it was a cooler day than mid 80s
The grandkids loved it! I would advise going during the week when its not as busy.
Loved the Gardens, sadly when I visited I couldn't enjoy the entire garden, but the interior was phenomenal! The indoor restaurant was somewhat pricy, but with their 'local first' policy, it was a welcomed treat! Would definitely recommend going during the Spring though Fall seasons.
Great place to relax and spend the day. Fun for all ages.
Frederik Meijer Gardens visit was absolutely wonderful!!! A new Welcome Center is being built to accommodate more visitors... a great place to take your family
Great place to walk around on a nice day. If we could go back in about 1 month more flowers and trees would be in bloom. Lunch at the cafe was very good although a bit pricey.
If you're in the area, you have to visit this place! It's even worth going out of your way for! The gardens are great, and the sculptures throughout are excellent!
Beautiful and reasonably priced. Will keep young and old entertained for hours. Be prepared to do some walking!
We love Fred Meijer Gardens! It s nice in winter but fantastic in summer. Get the membership. It is definitely worth the money and perks.
Been here 6 times last year. Great place to get out and walk around. Membership is well worth it if you plan on going back.
Really wonderful place to take your family and walk around good for the price I would say also.
Had a great time with the butterflies, the statue were beautiful, some strange looking but interesting. Went at the end of April so we didn't see much of the Japanese gardens. Prices not to bad.
I have lived in the Grand Rapids area for many years. The only time I had been there was to see the famous Butterflies Exhibit in a indoor tropical enclosure. The other time I was there was to see the Christmas trees decorated in that Country's traditional ornaments. On that particular day I also saw the VERY large bronze horse! But to go beyond these indoor activities was as far as I had ever visited. What a place I discovered outside those walls!!!! What I found with a friend was a beautiful, serene, well manicured gardens that span many acres deep. The outside of The Gardens is for those who LOVE nature and can appreciate it for all it has to offer! It is quiet and very tranquil. You can ask for a wand that will give you a guided tour of the areas and what to look for. There is a Children's area with two water features and a splash pad. There are trams that will take you around for those that cannot walk. All of the areas are suitable for a wheelchair, as I was in one the places we went. wheelchairs are free for adventuring people who want to see The Gardens at their own pace. As we were leaving, we heard a band warming up for a concert that night in the outdoor Ampitheatre! It was the B52s! All summer there are shows you can see and vary in price. That day for the B52s was $91 a ticket. You can also buy a year pass for $120 for a family. The pass is good for unlimited entries, communications, and VIP treatments in many ways. The Gardens also host weddings and receptions . Back to the Gardens for a minute... The trails to each Garden have benches all along the way and water fountains along the way too. It's a wonderful place! I hope you venture outside and see what Frederick Meijer Gardens is really about!
Summer concerts with big names. Great botanical gardens.
Beautiful gardens and sculptures. Lots of places to walk. Lovely Japanese gardens. Great kids gardens
Disappointing visit as the construction prevented our taking our guest on the tram. But our walk to the Japanese garden was good.
What a great place! We drove the 2 hours from Detroit to spend the day here on a Tuesday when they have extended hours, and it was well worth the trip. Much more fun than I expected with several indoor and outdoor gardens, and sculptures abound! We were here for 4 to 5 hours, and we were walking the entire time, so bring your most comfortable walking shoes as this place is very large! We were able to see everything we wanted to see in that time frame. The cafeteria was not great, but good enough that we did not need to leave the grounds for lunch.
Portions that were a "must" from my perspective: walk the perimeter of the Japanese Garden, walk through the entire sculpture park section, don't miss the indoor gardens (arid, carnivorous and seasonal plant houses), the bigger-than-life bronze horse statue by Nina Akamu in the Piazza. I hesitated to visit the Farm Garden, and it turned out to be less than exciting, until we saw the Frey Boardwalk that wanders quietly through the wetlands, and the Woodland Shade Garden. Both walks were so relaxing, quiet and shaded.
I can't believe it took us this long to visit this place, and it is a great activity to bring friends and family when they visit from other states. Our visit was in late June, and we were not bothered by any bugs. We'll definitely return.
Absolutely incredible place. I had blocked out about two hours of time for this place and I barely even scratched the surface. I could visit this place every day and find something new.
Great place for a wander, always beautiful regardless of season.
I lived in Michigan for 58 years never went there except this one time and it was so beautiful I couldn't believe it
We have been there a couple times it is absolutely amazing pay attention to the time of year cuz that will change what you see when you go in there
Love this place! Visited while the world Christmas tree were on display! So pretty and educational.
It is famous for its pretty large Japanese garden, a garden made by famous super family member.
Well worth a visit. Wet land, Japanese gardens, sculpture park, tropical greenhouse, it has it all.
It was super beautiful seeing all the butterflies I just thought that there would be more of them with it saying 7000 different types of butterflies
The best Japanese Garden I have seen to date, well worth the price of admission.
Great place to take kids to see the amazing butterflies. Even on a Saturday when it was about as busy as it could get, things ran smoothly and it never felt overwhelming.
I love the butterfly exhibit, it is exactly what you would expect. The place is very clean as well.
Beautiful property! Love the largest orchid blooms I ve ever seen and excited about the Passion flower blooming too!
