We love the children's garden and play area. The gardens have continuously changing exhibits allowing repeat visits to be equally rewarding. Wonderful place to spend the afternoon walking about. The staff is amazing. They are knowledgeable about the plants and exhibits and love sharing the history of the Meijer family.

There's always something to do and worth seeing here. Earlier in the year they had the annual butterfly exhibit and this summer they have a nice scultural exhibit. There's lots of grounds and gardens well worth exploring outdoors as well as the beautiful greenhouses indoors. Well worth a visit several times a year whether you're a local or just visiting.

It was a unique site!
And besides that I went at the end of November and there were already these beauties of trees to see them
Alone, as a couple, as a family, you will find it idyllic!

Meijer Gardens is always growing, changing art displays. Its a beautiful place for a venue whether it be a wedding or a corporate party. You can walk through the inside exhibits and the outside or take the tour shuttle. There's a nice gift shop and a cafe to enjoy a bite to eat. In the summer you can enjoy the open air concerts at the amphitheater. Its a beautiful place to just relax take photos and enjoy.

The gardens themselves are beautiful. The "art" was questionable, especially for kids... (I don't count the middle finger as art... everyone has one. Most people even have 2! ;) ) Heard negative things about HR on the inside, also. Sounds like everyone just needs to be on the same page.

The gardens robust in experience, but very attainable. The tram tour was very interesting and informative, and the children's garden was fun and educational. The volunteer guides were excellent with adults and children.

Wow. This place amazing. Great family destination. The children's garden was a feat just by itself not even including the whole rest of the garden. Very beautiful. My kids loved the sculptures. We spent over 4 hours there and didn't even see it all. We currently have 2 yo and 6 yo boys. My wife, myself, and our boys were something like $34 for admission fee... Not cheap but not that expensive. Well worth a visit. We will be back someday I imagine.

Beautifully maintained gardens with some fantastic sculptures, and the Ai Weiwei exhibit we came for was awesome! We spent two hours walking the paths and enjoying the art, and would have spent more if the gardens hadn't closed at five on a Saturday! The park is open late on Tuesdays for some reason. Fortunately we headed back when we did, as one of the volunteers at the gift shop began actively preventing new customers from entering five minutes or so after the park closed. Aside from that, the staff was wonderful and helpful! The park was overall a great experience and we plan to head back when we can spend more time!

A very beautiful park where you can relax exploring with the family or with those friendships that never fail to share epic moments, passing the rare in a warm environment and breathing a pure air free of pollution recommended greetings

I've been here twice now, and enjoyed both visits. It boasts 150+ acres of manicured landscapes, wheelchair/stroller accessable paved paths, larger-than-life sculptures, and indoor exhibits. During the holiday season they've featured elaborate Christmas trees, and this summer they have an Alice in Wonderland theme in their children's garden area. The indoors gardens, while closer to humid tropical temperatures, offered a great refuge from the heat outside. The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable, and there's a cafe with simple food and a nice gift shop if you're into supporting the gardens beyond just the cost of your ticket. They offered military, senior, student, and AAA discounts. It's currently under construction, but it didn't affect our visit.

Meijer Gardens is the gem of Grand Rapids. It is the kindest gift to the world from the heart of dear Fredrick & Lena Meijer. It is a must-see when visiting West Michigan, but it is also a wonderful place to get an annual membership if you are local. There is something to do there in every season, and it is constantly evolving & changing. They are in the middle of a multi-million dollar renovation, and it s exciting to see the new attractions take shape. As a photographer, I appreciate the sculpture gardens, conservatory, perennial gardens, farm garden, Japanese garden, and arid garden indoors. I love walking the paths for exercise while chatting with a friend. The children s garden has a lot of engaging activities, though the entire sculpture garden have fun places to explore for all ages. I was amazed at being able to see Renoir, Degas, Degas, Keith Haring, di Suervo, Goldsworthy, Chihuly, Calder, and many other famous artists works on display here when we first visited 16 years ago. The grounds are kept immaculate by the dedicated volunteers, many of which have volunteered more than a decade. The staff is also dedicated and friendly. Their gift shop is one I would recommend going to even if you don t have a membership. It s at the front, before you purchase a ticket, and it s a great place to buy friends birthday or anniversary gifts, with practical garden gifts, children s gifts, cards, puzzles, jewelry, preserves, scarves, home decor, and much more. You could easily spend an entire day here & not see it all, so I would recommend coming back multiple days! Also, a tram is available if you prefer to see the 158 acres of park from a seated position. Many accommodations are made for those with wheelchairs or different mobility/abilities.

Impressive sculptures in impressive landscapes. The sculptures and layout of the garden surpassed my expectations. Careful thought and presicion were obviously put into the layout of the garden.

Had a family membership since 2011, haven't regretted making that decision a moment. Sculpture Gardens, Art Exhibits inside, concerts, summer excursions to the children's garden, the butterflies in March, Holidays around the World from Thanksgiving thru New Years, and the 1/3 mile nature trail... just an amazing educational experience that your kids don't even realize their having.

This is a beautiful place and it is a great chance to see the beauty West Michigan has to offer. My favorite part was the butterfly house and I brought a succulent plant home that was unique. There was also art and I enjoyed that as well. There were so many different exhibits. I need to go back in the summer to see how it looks during that time.

I've gone many times starting when I was just a child to wanting to announce that I was expecting. When we arrived and went into pay I was told we were not allowed to bring in a home made sign or take pictures with it unless we wanted a $300 fine. That is absurd! I have taken many pictures there and so has my friend, the one who was planning on taking our baby announcement picture. I wouldn't have been as angry as I was if the lady at the front desk had been polite about it, but she was extremely rude.

The place is very impressive. I just think with the money Meijer makes and the volunteer help they have, admission could be free or a donation. Most of the art is a matter of opinion on its quality.

Great garden and fantastic place to visit both in the main gardens and the related sculpture garden. This is really a Western Michigan gem and definitely a place to stop when in the area. I would plan on at least a half day

This is a little slice of paradise, it is so worth the money. If I lived closer I would be a member. If you have a student id bring it! It makes your ticket less expensive.
The greenhouse is wonderous and you can get some awesome pictures in there! Sometimes it can be a little hard to identify a particular plant because there are so many around the signs but that is the only not great thing about this place. Wear sunblock and bring sunglasses, especially if you plan on walking through the sculpture park. There is almost no shade in that area. Just go and experience it, it's a great time.

Got season passes for the family best decision we ever made. All we had to do was go three times and we made up the price. Pretty easy to do when you live in the area. Must admit we we didn't utilize it very much in the winter but before the snow fell into the late fall we did and very early in the spring we start it up again. The construction going on right now is a little annoying but hopefully when that ends will have even more things to enjoy.
