I am a Coloradoan and I have been here more times than I can remember, it stays the same yet it's always changing with new exhibits and seasons. My all time favorite was the Dale Chihuly exhibit around the park. Keep up the amazing work!!

Frederik Meijer Gardens is a wonderful place to spend a day. They keep a meticulous watch on the quality of the buildings and grounds, so even after the many years it has been open, it shows no signs of disrepair. There are areas to walk for people looking at the plant life to art work to children play areas.

As of the tail end of 2018, there is a massive construction project going on, but aside from that, there's nothing to spoil one's time here. The newer Japanese garden area has had time to grow-in, so it looks far more natural than its first few months of operation. The Christmas displays up now are spectacular, but beyond that, there are rotating art and music events that keep regular visits fresh. It's definitely a must stop location for travelers and locals alike.

My grandparents owned the farm that Meijer Gardens are on. I'm 67 and back in the 50's I spent many weeks in the summers there. Those wonderful memories and the great job that Fred and Lena did at the Gardens make those acres very special to me. When I walk them my mind sees things that others can't.
It's as close to spiritual as I can get. Thank You!

Such a beautiful place that anyone can enjoy. There's several great places for kids to run around and play. Walking around to all the different areas provides a great exercise while enjoying spectacular art displays

What a beautiful place. We loved walking through the gardens even when it was snowing. It's very calming and peaceful. Inside we enjoyed the international Christmas trees decorated according to many countries cultures. Also the green house with the train and natural models of local iconic buildings was amazing. Such a great place to take your time and soak it all in.

We went once last year and ended up getting a membership. Our daughter loves the whole place but especially the children's garden. Even in the winter it's a good way to get the kids out of the house for a couple hours.

Lovely place but lunch selections were lackluster. My salad had a faint white dressing, not sure. Companion's borscht did not appear to have beets! We decided to have lunch elsewhere when visiting the garden.

We decided on a perfectly crummy January day to head to FMG to get out of the house for awhile. After paying FULL PRICE for the 3 of us, we discovered the ONLY thing to see was the Tropical Conservatory. Ouch. Suggestions are to put on their website that there is NOTHING to see at this time of year, and/or, have admission at half-price. Extremely disappointed today. Several of the volunteers said "....yeah, there is nothing going on at this time of year...." One of them said "....the floors will be polished soon..." Ummm, okay. We were there approximately 1 hr - if that. Note to self: DO NOT GO TO FMG IN JANUARY. What a waste of money!!!!

Not as big as I imagined so it's not overwhelming, you can do everything in one day. My favorite part were the inside tropical and desert areas. Lots of cool sculptures. Take the tram tour for a good overview of the whole property. They have a nice cafatieria so it's easy to make a day of it. Good place for kids, they have their own garden area.

Gorgeous, I couldn't have had a better time. The volunteers are so kind and helpful and even the other visitors were gracious. It has several different indoor gardens, and it's a great respite from the winter blues.

Very pricey in my opinion... But we received a membership for Christmas. Is nice to have somewhere to go when it's so cold out though... Excited to go once the weather warms up to enjoy all the outdoor activities.

We had a fancy dinner and free run of the place with work. It was really nice. The staff was top notch. The indoor gardens were interesting and well designed. I look forward to returning in the Spring to see the rest of the gardens.

I went there for my brother's wedding reception. The food was great and all of the staff were extremely helpful throughout the night. It was really cool to experience going in all of the green houses at night to see everything lit up for Christmas. I would definitely recommend hosting a wedding reception at Meijer Gardens. Since you rent the establishment for the night, you can experience the green houses without a lot of other people. This allows you to spend as long as you want checking displays and plants out. Seeing all of the different Christmas trees and reading about customs from around the world is very interesting and entertaining as well.

One of the most beautiful gardens you'll find in the Midwest. Sculptures, Japanese gardens and awesome grounds that will keep you busy enjoying the outdoors. Fantastic, I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Take the 45 minute tram for an overview of the grounds wonderfully narrated for only $4. Well worth it.

Loved loved loved the butterflies in the tropical garden! We plan on going back this summer to see the Japanese and other outdoor gardens. FMG is huge, so I recommend multiple trips. You could do it all in one day, but you will be exhausted.

If you have small children, you can take advantage of the outdoor playground.
