Great experience. Many butterflies and the greenho...
Great experience. Many butterflies and the greenhouse was spectacular. Lots to see and explore. Nice clean rest rooms. Everything is wheelchair accessible. We loved it.

Nice garden with a lot a landart. You walk then you discover an outdoor sculpture then another and so one.
Even in winter the gardens and grounds are exquisite. Perfect size for an afternoon walk.
The Christmas trees from around the world were also very accurate culturally. The period Santa stories and displays were fun to find scattered around.
This is an amazing collection of flora and modern art. Right now there is a world class exhibition by AI Weiwei. I really enjoyed lunch. The chicken salad is amazing.
The Christmas tree around the World display is a treat every year.
We had a blast here , definitely recommend. Concert , drinks and great food , couldn't have been better .
Under construction but I can imagine how grand it will be after completion, but for me it was an experience of a lifetime, it's like visiting New York; Carnegie hall, I recited poetry in front of nearly five hundred people, I plan to visit to see the Christmas tree and lights this year.
A very nice and vast botanical garden in Grand Rapids, western Michigan. One can easily spend a whole day in it.
Love this place. Hard to actually put in words all this place offers. My whole family and all our exchange students love going there to see everything outside and in. Butterfly exhibit is great for all.
Plan to spend a whole day here! We only saw like a 1/4 of the gardens in our 3hrs there!
Gorgeous and captivating!!! ABC Orchestra performed and awestruck everyone, the butterfly exhibit was like a mini getaway for the mind, and the refreshments at the end of Family Fun night were scrumptious!!! Simply wow...
Butterfly exhibit wonderful ($15 per adult) Everything is very pricey though
Amazing as always, can't get enough and love shopping afterwards
Love the Japanese Garden and all the sculpture. Very well kept up and always clean. Great place for a family trip. Especially during the spring when the Butterflies are Blooming exhibit is going on. But, you can find something to do during all seasons. It's a peaceful walk in the winter. The Japanese Garden is beautiful in any season.
I think we went a little early in the season the grounds eat it a little attention but has the potential to be a beautiful place well worth the doing
I love this place. I've been here about 4 or 5 times and I can keep going back because it's awesome and they have changing things. Butterflies sometimes, the japanese garden was sweet this time.
Beautiful place, can't imagine size it will be after expansion.
My family and I enjoyed touring the Frederick Meijer Gardens to see monarch caterpillars and butterflies in the Arid and Tropical Garden exhibits. You're up close and personal with the flora, fauna, caterpillars and butterflies. It's a great way to spend an hour or two with kids and family.
Love the butterflies! The gardens are very nice with lots of different plants. The sculptures vary widely and lend to many different styles. Currenrly expanding but open and very easy to access.
Our walk through the gardens was amazing. Peaceful, and displays are great. Highly recommended, don't be in a hurry and enjoy everything!
Love this gem close to downtown Grand Rapids! I went for the Holidays around the world exhibition which was great. The art exhibit was about disabilities which was very well curated. Strolling through the various Gardens and sculpture park was very enjoyable even in the winter time. I am looking forward to returning to get the full experience of the Japanese garden.
Very unique, plants ranging from desert cacti to jungle cacti...
I especially liked the butterfly exhibition!
One of the most beautiful places I have ever visited.
fun place and pretty! COVID-19 social distancing and rules followed really well!
Really crappy experience!! We went to the summer concert series and it was July 19th 2017 sold out concert to see Barenaked Ladies (concert was awesome) but we stood in the hot blistering sun for 3 hours. Meijers provided samples of shrimp, meatballs, and pineapple. No water was offered it was unreal. We stood in the sun cause there was little to NO shade. Then the least you could have done was provide some water. Are you really that cheap!!! I know I will never return. Let me also include that I almost had a heat stroke and there was no one to go to for help.
I'm visiting from out of town and the Meijer gardens was a nice treat. The Christmas tree exhibit was beautiful
Wonderful, beautiful exhibit during the Christmas season! Loved the miniature depictions of prominent buildings made out of natural products and the train!
That giant anatomically correct horse! A bit juvenile I know, but hey. Interesting sculptures throughout the walk.
Great for little people but the parking can be a hike.
Update: Went from a 5 to a 2 when I found out how breastfeeding unfriendly the place is. They have no designated space for mothers to go and when I needed to pump at a concert I was told I would have to go to my car with an escort who would wait while I pumped. Hello creepy.
Was a little hesitant at 1st by the ticket price, but after being commenced to go since I was there and driving 2 and a 1/2 hours. I forked out the 14 dollars and got myself inside the park and was truly pleased and amazed ... what a gorgeous place. Definitely enough to see and enough to do, I literally spent 3 hours emersed in the nature, beauty and clever routes that never seemed to end.
Beautiful landscaping and wonderful plant collections.
This is one of Michigan's jewels. The gardens and the sculptures are peaceful and moving. Everyone should visit at least once.
Amazing this time of year. Dress smart! It's a sauna in the butterfly house, but well worth it. Bring your camera and find a bench. The butterflies come to you! Hurry! The season for best photos is nearly over.
Frederick Meijer Gardens never disappoints! The Christmas tree display is just beautiful, accented by hundreds of poinsettias. And the sculpture garden is gorgeous under a blanket of white. Enjoy a meal or snack in the cafe. Our salads and sandwiches were fresh and delicious.
Beautiful spot. The butterfly exhibit was impressive. Construction in progress made navigating difficult. Progress is sometimes inconvenient.
Amazing gardens and art. The summer concerts are a must!
Friendly staff and nice atmosphere for special events.
The gardens are great to look around at. The designs are wonderful and the kids loved it. The children's gardens were designed with them in mind and they spent a couple of hours in there.
One of the nicest gardens so far. Great variety. Check out the Japanese section
Beautiful grounds make this an all day affair with all the various trails. Extremely worth it!
This place is great! Especially loved the conservatory and the Japanese garden. However, we rode the tram and were slightly disappointed with that experience. The tour was slow-paced, not very engaging, and lasted only about 30 minutes instead of the 45 we were promised.
What a beautiful place.....great tour. Highly recommend
Beautiful, breathtaking, I've never have been to a more beautiful place before , people were nice and very helpful.
Very good visit to FMG with my folks. Such beautiful grounds... you can really enjoy nature's beauty here. And PEACE! I had both folks in wheelchairs, Dad his own electric and Mom we borrowed from them. Everything was accessible. We did have to make a few decisions about going "offroad" on some of the paths based on efforts to get them around on rocks. But the couple times we did, it worked just fine. Would give a five star rating of their grounds navigation was improved. We never knew where we were, even while holding a map and talking to other visitors. Much like Disney, this place gets you lost very easily! But Disney has much better signage!! Either way, it's a beautiful place.
Staff/volunteers are very knowledgeable and friendly. You could definitely spend a whole day here open to close.
Massive, spent hours here! Beautiful plants, live birds in the rainforest and amazing artwork, plus there was live music. Perfect for anyone; dates, family trips, meetings, etc.
Went with my son's preschool class! The kids enjoyed their adventure. Plenty of pint size explorations!
To much walking we had 3 handicapped ladies. Had to stop several times before we got inside. Need something to pick people up. Way to crowded in butterfly room
Excellent classes to take and view exhibits such as the Rodin sculptures, the miniature villages in Grand Rapids, and the warmth the gardens bring to one's soul!!
Love the serenity and use of space. Ai Weiwei works are very impressive.
FMG is a great place to walk, relax, and enjoy nature.
It was absolutely beautiful. If you go give yourself at least 3 hours to see absolutely everything. We got in about an hour and a half before close and seen about half of the gardens and sculptures.
What's not to like. Get a membership for a year is well worth the dime
Really cool place. The amphitheatre is a great place to catch a concert in the summertime. Each season they have different things to see. The butterflies are out in early spring. Christmas trees from around the world to celebrate the holidays. I would definitely recommend visiting on a warm day to really enjoy everything they offer outside, like the giant horse or the Zen garden.
Great butterfly experience in the spring. You will love it as much as your kids
Had a wonderful time seeing all of the new experiences since we were last here several years back. Looks like there is more being added on and look forward to seeing how these additions will be used to 8nspire another generation of horticulturist in making this world a little more tolerable to look at as we spiral such dark times.
It s great! Love hiking around; sightseeing is awesome .
Great place to take the family, friends, and a great place to grab a bite to eat.
Best gardens I have been to. Well set up and very enjoyable.
A great place to visit, looking forward to going again someday. It's a nice outdoor activity to do with kids as well. Plenty of walking paths and the children's garden was very well done.
No matter the time of year it is just beautiful. But I will say that the should have a little shuttle or something to take people to and from their cars. We went in the middle of the week with my son's online school trip and had to park way away from the door.
Beautiful place, but expensive. Lots of kid fun outside.
