The food was good, but I was sort of expecting it to be better, mainly because everyone talks so great about the place. Customer service was amazing. However the drinks were too overpriced. Overall, I had a great experience.

The green salad was delicious, with chopped apples, cucumbers, feta, asparagus, peas. The green dressing paired well. Perhaps other salad toppings could be added (e.g. roasted slivered almonds, dried cranberries, rosemary-infused dried olives, or turn this into an English mint pea green salad).

One of the loudest restaurants I have ever visited. The food I can best describe as Cracker Barrel meets Trader Joe's. Very American food, but apparently from local farms. Supposedly many local farms, as it was packed and I bet it always is.

The service leaves a bit to be desired. I really enjoy farm to table cooking and I have been to other Founding Farmers and had amazing food and an amazing experience. However, they have been very understaffed both times I was there in the last week and it to me two hours to grab a bite for dinner. Everyone was very nice but barely came to my table. The first night I ordered a farm bread appetizer and chicken and waffles entree. 30 minutes after I FINISHED my meal the appetizer still hadn't come out and when I asked the waitress to skip it since I was full and no longer interested she was upset and tried to make me take it with me to go. I told her I was out of town and didn't need or want it (as it would be soggy and gross as a day old leftover) and she still said that they had s new line cook and it wasn't her fault. I just looked at her and she agreed to take it off my bill. Service is what is lacking here so if you don't mind being largely ignored, getting the wrong items, and dinner taking two hours, then head here for their amazing food.

So disappointing. I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was not crispy like southern fried chicken should be and it was unseasoned (literally there was no seasoning on the chicken, didn't even see pepper!!) and i only got half of a waffle which i think is a rip off for the price ($17). The food had zero taste. The biscuit i got was SUPER hard and stale. I'm angry that I paid money for this meal. The worst dining hall on my campus does better than this. I will never eat here again and i advise you dont even try it because it will most likely be a waste of money. I wouldn't even pay $5 for what i got. terrible quality

Founding Farmers is a great spot. My wife and I love to go hiking at Great Falls Park and then have a meal at this restaurant on the way home. Founding Farmers never disappoints. It's high quality American dishes that tastes more good probably from the fact that we used up a bunch of energy.

They also have a great selection of drinks (they also make their own infused liquor if I'm not mistaken). They also happen to be located in a cute shopping center if you want to walk around afterwards for a date.

Had a great time with friends yesterday. Could actually taste the freshness of everything that we ordered . The tomato soup was the best I had ever tasted. The service was great and the staff was very pleasant. Planning to go back again this week when family is in town this week.

It s a decent place to check out. Service is good and they make every effort to answer any questions. The food is good and portions are just right. Plenty of parking at this location and seating is plentiful without a long wait. Had the crab cake eggs Benedict and a farmers breakfast. Everything came out as ordered and tasty.

REDEEMED!! I happened to be in the area today 8/29/19 and thought I would try MoCo Founding Farmers again. As always I ordered the house tea first. I later ordered the farmhouse walffles with blueberry compote, black pepper maple bacon and a side of hashbrowns (no eggs! LOL). So my breakfast food arrive in a timely fashion and was tasty. Interesting blend of flavors. My waitress Emily came to check on me and I asked about the tea which had not come. She immediately went to get it. Tea was nice. So I am happy to adjust my rating.

________
I had been looking forward to trying Founding Farmers for a while as I heard really good reviews from friends. I ordered eggs over medium, bacon hash browns and biscuit. The eggs were well done and the potatoes cold. I alerted my waitress who had another plate prepared which was dropped off by the Manager. Eggs totally well done. On a bright side the house blend tea was lovely, but that doesn't make a meal. My son's French toast was just okay. Recieved my check for drinks and bacon. I paid for my drinks and the bacon and left. DISAPPOINTED.

Excellent food and service! Our hostess was Lisa and she was exceptionally friendly, helpful and made us feel like we were having lunch at our favorite aunt's home! We came with our sometimes grumpy and picky teenage kids and this was one of those times where everyone enjoyed their meal and had no complaints! That's a BIG Plus in my book!

A MUST DINE landmark restaurant - For a brand new restaurant (last Wednesday?) there were remarkably few problems. At the peak serving time, food took 12-13 minutes to come after ordering, and we were at the bar which meant an expediter brought it. I would have happily sat there all night, though, because they have something NO OTHER RESTAURANT in this area has - a selection of non-alcoholic sodas (jerk-fountain style) made with handmade ingredients like a raspberry-lime rickey, served with bitters over crushed ice. I don't drink alcohol and even the nicest restaurants in the area leave you with a choice of sparkling water or fountain cokes (at best). They also have fresh fruit juices and teas. SOLD. But it gets better.

We had a phenomenal meal. There aren't really any places to get this kind of cuisine - let's call it "comfort food" - wholesome, generous, savory, rewarding, like Addies, but not trying so hard to be overly fancy. A restaurant takes a chance when it puts a lot of chicken dishes on the menu - chicken isn't extraordinary and often tastes like nothing... Not this fried chicken - moist breasts, cooked to somehow bring out the poultry flavor, which made me feel like I really never have had chicken before. (They did the Mildred Pierce thing and added waffles; fun, but I still don't get it...) On the side a "Mac and cheese" - sinful, yet not over-cheesed - and the most satisfying beans and carrots I have ever had anywhere. The veggies were worth the trip by themselves. My wife had the Pot Roast (yes, pot roast). I ate what she couldn't - again, savory, without going overboard.

I only have one stomach to give - we made reservations to bring our friends next Friday. I'm with Mike - my new Go To Spot in Potomac. Can't wait to try the breakfast...

As a result of curbside pickup I give MFF 3 stars. The employees don't yet have the concept down. I originally place 1 order for pick up, which morphed into 3 orders for the same meal. Couldn't seem to get it right in addition to neglecting to provide utensils and napkins. Secondly, the food was just OK.
Signed,
Still waiting on order at 5:55, that was scheduled for 5:00.

P.S.
:-( not happy, 3rd ordered is still incorrect.

Great location and there is a lot of nearby parking. A welcoming greeting by reception, and even though they were busy, my group and I were seated quickly. Our waitress; Sydney, was very friendly, made us feel welcome, she was polite, attentive, professional. I must add, that I did see the other waiting staff at work, and everyone was on the ball, making sure their guests were having a good time. The food was hearty portions and Delicious! Very flavorful. The deserts are just as hearty, and even more delicious! My group and I had a great experience.

The food was fresh, our server Mari (I think) was very on point and gave us amazing service. I got the goat cheese ravioli and chicken and it was awesome! Drinks took a little long to come out but they were well worth it once here. Definitely coming back.

I had an unfortunate situation the other night with some under cooked food. After corresponding with Ali V and speaking with the General Manager Erich I have to say this is a well run restaurant that truly cares about it customers and the food they serve. I would recommend FF.

In my opinion the best place to eat in the morning in all of Montgomery County.
Great, superb and 5 star customer service given to all patrons.
Excellent selection of coffee, food and beverages. I'm serious, if you haven't visited this place YOU NEED TO!!!

This particular location is so amazing! I love the staff and their amazing customer service. I love the delicious food and love how my food arrives at hot temps even through delivery services. Such a great place to eat from! Thank you all for being amazing!

I want to like this place. It looks good, and judging by the crowds, seems quite popular. I just keep having experiences with either food or service that leaves me shaking my head. Service: Something got mixed up with our order, and my child's expedited order came out clearly wrong and had to be sent back. Also, our appetizer got lost (two different stories from two different people on why that happened). The manager attempted to make things right by stopping by the table and telling us that my child's item and the appetizer would be comped for the inconvenience; however, no one told the waiter that, and those items were on the bill. When we mentioned what the manager said, the waiter still couldn't match the comps stated by the manager. I gave up Food: I ordered the southern fried chicken. One piece was mostly dry with only a hint of flavor. The second piece was salty like brine. The wings are great, and so is the cornbread. They just don't seem to be consistent with entrees. I had a similar experience with shrimp and grits on.a previous visit I guess I keep coming back because I think the last experience was just an exception.

Food quality/taste: Great.

Food quality/taste: Great.
Attention to detail/service: Potentially lacking
Value for the money: Questionable.

Further detail:
I ordered a soup and salad (with an expensive item; a piece of salmon). I got a cup of fairly good tomato soup, and a really good but teeny salad - the salmon was very tasty too. But for a really small side salad and a cup of soup I paid 30 bucks (lets not even talk about Uber's fees)... the piece of bread that was supposed to come with my soup wasn't there, and the utensils that I requested to come with my meal also weren't there - and they weren't last time I ordered from FF, so I begin to think this is a trend.

I don't typically whine about prices around here... but when I don't get what I asked for, or what is advertised to come with... repeatedly... I start getting tempted to complain about how much I'm getting for my money, and how much the folks here care about their customers (and I have a hard time believing they don't).

Thoroughly disappointing on a number of levels. We went for a bridal lunch between boutiques to pick out a friends wedding dress and several things happened to really bring down the whole experience.

1. Our party had two people who have had recent surgeries and were on either crutches or using a cane. Our table was clearly ready, but because we were early they wouldn t seat us.

2. When one of our party asked about Celiac friendly menu items (she has an extreme case of the auto-immune disease) the manager came over to tell her that EVERY food station was incapable of being celiac friendly bc it s hard to clean them. She was unable to order a single menu item and had to leave to drive back to Richmond without eating.

3. One of our party ordered the chicken pot pie - which looked amazing at first, and probably would have been, except for the fact that it was 70% filled with giant pieces of onion (see photo).

Half of our party has worked in the industry and is usually pretty understanding, but this was just ridiculous. To make it worse, our drinks too forever and took multiple requests to get the full drink order brought over.

Will definitely not be recommending.

A bit out of the way, but worth finding it. Menu and presentation are delightfully unusual. There was a distinct difference in the quality and freshness of the food and how it was prepared. Although not inexpensive, definitely worth the dollars. Servers and staff were up to the task. Everyone was competent and busy making things operate as they should, yet took the time to chat with diners, and ensure that they were enjoying their food.

Sad but this place is starting to lose its touch. Had breakfast here recently and didn't think anything really stood out. My friend had a omelet that seemed more like stir fry than anything else. My eggs were fine, but the pork sausage was just okay, the biscuit was dry, and the grits were terrible. Definitely not worth it. Still sticking to three stars because my most recent dinner here was delicious. Love their burgers and bacon. Hopefully those haven't changed as much.

Great brunch. We were dining inside after almost a year. Lexi was quite patient with us trying this new idea of eating at a restaurant.

She was very helpful and gave excellent advice on the drinks. Beignets were amazing.

The food is here is good and always fresh however the service is never great. We have been 4-5 times and only once did we have good service. Other experiences the orders are consistently wrong and we have to find our server.

Wife went here without me, and couldn't get a waiter. Ended up having the manager wait on her and her friend after they went to the hostess stand. Manager supposedly was awesome. Gave her a Gift Certificate to "Give them another chance."

Today was the 3 of us. Brunch menu didn't interest me much. Went with stake and eggs. Tried the corpse reviver for a drink.

Staff was on top of everything. Very friendly and attentive.

Drink took way to long and wasn't something I would get again. Home made soda was not a hit with my kid.

My steak was cooked about perfect. Saddly, I didn't care for what ever they added to it. Ryan didn't like his pancakes and is already eating something else at home. None of us understood the appeal of the beignets.

Will give it another shot. Not at brunch.

One would think that an establishment that boasts high quality food selections (with prices to match) would also have high quality service. My first meal at this restaurant was very disappointing. If you ask for water, you must specify iced water else they will bring a tiny cup of room temperature water. My order was incorrect. The replacement order took so long that I had to get it to-go so that I could return to work by the end of my hour lunch break. I was not offered any compensation for the inconvenience. If you want a high price meal with bad service this is the place for you
