This place remains a popular brunch spot, but the buzz is likely due to the menu offerings - but just the offerings and not the actual taste of the food. Both my friend and I found our orders to be slightly above mediocre. The wait staff is great and very attentive, but the construct of the location makes parking difficult and you are likely to be knocked over by the revolving door when the tiny hostess area is full of waiting patrons.

Kind of overpriced for the food. The waitress today was inattentive, and asked my friend to pass her the bill because the waitress was standing 5 feet away and couldn t be bothered to walk over to our table. She never asked my friend what size wine he wanted just ordered the larger one. And never asked me if I wanted refill on my ice tea. My drink was clearly empty. And it was hot outside.

You must ask for Michael for your waiter. His customer service and recommendations for food and drinks were phenomenal. He was spot on with what my party was in the mood for. He is exactly what customer service should be.

Food was good but it took 45 minutes for it to cone out. I think the waiter was terrible. Probably forgot to put order in. Other people received food and they were seated after us. He also did not know how to operate credit card machine and embarrassed a person at the table who was paying.

Great menu choices and friendly staff. I've been here a number of times and the service was average but, my last two visits have been awesome! I was seated with the same server and this guy was on point. He was professional, attentive to our choices and stood shoulders above others. I'll revise my post if I get his name.

Food/preparation quality was very good. If recommend a visit but, make a reservation if visiting on a Friday or Saturday, it gets busy.

Founding Farmers is a farm to table restaurant. Food is reliably fresh, and very tasty.
The onion jam, green apple and brie ciabatta is delightful. You can't go wrong with their freshly made sodas.
The chicken and waffle is a winner. Don't leave without the beef short ribs. This dish is tender, succulent and worth eating again.
Desserts are definitely worth the calories. Enjoy.

My boyfriend and I came on a very busy Saturday at noon, and Bailey (sorry if I spelt this wrong) taking care of us upstairs left us with the best breakfast we could ve asked for. We always felt as if we were a priority while we were sitting. Our meal was perfect and exactly like we wanted, and she even recommended us to a Twix that we will now be getting every time we come here. Will recommend to all friends and family. Bailey has 10/10 service and a 15/10 attitude!

Grilled Cheese and Clam Chowder Soup $10 (4/5 NOMs).
Mhhh its double the gooey goodness with Grilled Cheese and Clam Chowder. Grill cheese sandwich was extremely cheesy gooey with three cheese combo Gruyere, Cheddar, and Muenster. Only thing better then cheese is more cheese! Originally this order came with Tomato Soup, but they allow substitution with soup of the day. I'm happy, usually not a big fan of tomato soups.

Oven-Roasted Cracked Black Pepper Wings $9 (5/5 NOMs).
WOW these wings were amazing! It was like a perfect mix of sauce, seasoning and grilled wings. Mhhhh I so want to try this again. A must try small plate appetizer. Great to share with friends or eat all by yourself. My mouth is watering just by looking at this picture

Founding farmers Oh how I thought you would be much better.

I was ecstatic to go to Founding Farmers because so many of my friends had amazing pics and said great things about it. We ordered Mimosas when we first got there because there was a short wait. After waiting 10 mins for the table, I was excited to see how the food was.

We sat down at our table and started out with beignets and pitchfork appetizer. The beignets was not what I was expecting after trying scrumptous ones in New Orleans. There was no mouthwatering taste when you first bit into it and you definitely didn t want a second bite. I decided to try the dips that it came with because the beignet felt like something was missing. There was chocolate, caramel, and raspberry. All of which did not complement the beignet well. The pitchfork was pretty good (probably the best thing that we ordered) compared to every thing else. The tater tots were cooked well and the bacon was tastety.

We ordered crab benedict with hashbrowns, breakfast dish w/sausage and fried Chicken with waffles. There was not anything special about the dishes. The hash browns were too oily and not crispy. The has browns didn t look like it was cooked thoroughly because the other hashbrowns ordered were crispy and looked better. The Eggs were ok, but the crab was a bit salty. The flavor was not special and the english muffing was not separated evenly. I had a small piece of english muffin with crab on one side, while the other side had a thick slice of english muffin.

The breakfast dish with sausage was mediocre at best and the sausage was very bland.

I was excited to see how the fried chicken and waffles w/scramble eggs would turn out.
I was not impressed with the chicken pieces. Instead of chicken wings as I anticipated, strips of chicken pieces were layered over the waffles. The chicken strips or tenders were smaller than the ones offered at most sporting events. To make matters worst, the scramble eggs were extremely salty. The waiter took the replaced the en and brought out new ones. The scramble eggs came out worst than the first time. The new eggs were UNDERCOOKED! I decided that I had given up on Founding Farmers. The only good part of the meal were the Tater tots that we ordered as an appetizer.

Although the service was great and splendid, I WAS EXPECTING MORE. This place seems ok for happy hour but is not a place for great food. I was expecting deliciousness after hearing the rants and reviews, but little to be expected I was greeted with plates of salty undercooked eggs and soggy hash browns.

Giving horrible service on a pick up order is like getting fired on your day off. The hostess was a delight but the bartenders ignored us for a good 5 minutes befotr acknowledging us and walking away. When we said we didnt need menus she walked away before we could finish talking. The gentleman bartender took over after another several minutes of them pacing back and forth. We placed the card down and he passed by us 3 times. Food is great though.

I went here with work for a team lunch. There were 9 of us. They sat us at a table large enough for all of us and somewhat separate from the rest of the restaurant so we could all hear each other talk. We ordered cornbread as an app and it was delicious, hot, and fresh. For meals we got burgers, salads, and pasta. Everyone really enjoyed their food. The service was standard for a lunch time order at a nice place good but nothing to write home about. Highly recommend this place for a nice lunch gathering!

WE LOVE FOUNDING FARMERS!!!!! Both the DC and MoCo location but especially the MoCo location. The food, aesthetic, how environmentally conscious they are is amazing. Chicken and waffles with Mac and cheese is always the go to. But everything here taste amazing. Truly fresh, natural, and farm to table (even the cocktails). The food jar decor are always lovely for pictures ;)

It's worthwhile to drive 15 minutes down the road to the Tysons founding farmers (they have unlimited brunch too which is much better). This FF has awful service (slow, clumsy, understaffed) which often made mistakes. One waiter tried to give us our check when we hadn't even ordered yet. We saw another table have to send back two plates because they were undercooked and a server also dropped plates on them while we were there. Water is warm, I'm sure you can ask for ice but we figured with the slow service it wouldn't come for long so we just didn't drink it. The service was probably the slowest I've ever had and they didn't check on us between getting our food and our check. We went on a Saturday and we expected it to be busy. It seemed like it was the normal load of people for a Saturday but it still felt severely understaffed.

A good part of the visit was the food. I got the steak and eggs and it was fantastic. The Manhattan soda (coffee soda) is probably great for people who love really bitter coffee, I wasn't a fan. Overall, the food was great but the experience tarnished my FF experience. I won't be returning to this location and will be returning to the Tysons location which is light years ahead of this one.

Went here for a business lunch and was blown away by how good the food and service is here. I order the Roasted Spatchcock Chicken with whipped potatoes & green beans. The chicken dance in my mouth with an explosion of flavor. I highly recommend this restaurant the atmosphere and service makes this a top pick for dinning out.

Bad service food arrived cold not thhe same as before when we ate there sent back both dinners ansc 5 minutes omater a big manager who seemed not caring gave excuses that the food was fine
So now we see the same food we tried and many people had our food in thhe hands and we are expected to est it
Now really cold and not eatable well I guess they dont need neighborhood business
The investor is not watching his place go to the wind

Watch your CHANGE if you pay with cash! Just had brunch here today. Food was alright but if you re not paying attention, you might not leave with your correct change. The server quickly put a few small bills directly in my hand and walked off. No receipt, no coins, and $50 less than what I should have received as my change. I had to resolve this issue with another server since my server seemed to be too busy to speak with me. God bless.

Delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and wonderfully friendly staff. Knowing that I'm being served food obtained locally and that I'm supporting farmers in my area makes the food taste that much better.

Nice outdoor patio, excellent happy hour bites and drinks. We tried prosciutto and fig and the avocado toast, both were great! The cucumber vodka drink (I forgot the name!) was refreshing as well! Will come back!

Your soup and sandwich is nice but the tiny bowl of soup is a let down even though it tastes good. You grilled cheese sandwich should be made using thicker sliced bread. Your ice tea should be brewed from tea leaves not a powdered concentrate. Sliced lemons for various fisher and ice tea should be wedges not circular slices. You apple pie has a lot of apples in it, but it is too big and the bottom is uncooked, it is still dough. It is obvious that you are not using unsalted butter or butter in general for your pie dough. Your staff is very nice, you can be proud of them. They are very attentive and informed. The beer that comes with the Fish & Chips (which is very good and plentiful) the beer is particularly good and quite refreshing.

I asked for two poached eggs double cooked but they were so overcooked, the whites were tough and rubbery. Coffee wasn't that hot. Nice biscuit. Loved this place when it first opened but it seems kind of ordinary now.

A really extensive menu, with something for everyone, at every price point. We had EXCELLENT service, probably the best in a long time. Great place for small and large groups. Highly recommended.

The food here is very good and I can see why t gere is always a long wait. If you want to skip the line it's best to call ahead and make reservations to this place. The breakfoods here really is amazing and I plan on going back here again.

I ordered the chicken and waffles. The chicken was the only item hot. Very disappointing experience for my first visit. Doubtful that I'll try it again. My husband ordered the prime rib sandwich. It was hot but not the fries.

Thanks, Carmen, for a wonderful dining experience! We appreciate your attentiveness and friendly demeanor. (I like the way you were visible on the floor in case needed. In too many instances, diners have to seek out the server.) Your "visibility" shows aa readines to give great service, a genuine caring for those you serve. The appetizer (smoked salmon) was beautifully presented and delicious! Our meals were correct- pot roast, chicken and waffles, spicy fried chicken, and chicken fried steak. Everything was hot and melt-in-our-mouths YUMMY!!! Our dining experience was worth the long drive. Thanks again, Carmen and MoCo FF staff. Excellent job!

The service here is damn good. Our server, oscar was excellent. The food taste great and they gave us soda from the can. The tea is professional. Seriously, give oscar a raise, service was so great had to go out of my way to review.

The server gave detailed food info regarding cross contamination of food allergens so we could safely choose our appetizers and meals. We had a group of 10 and all came away healthy, happy, and impressed! I've heard the breakfast is awesome too!

The drinks are delicious, delivery from the bar to your hand in 20 minutes. Busy brunch, the food was better than previous dining experiences. The server seemed overwhelmed with a big section, they can't handle their volume put more servers on the floor.

First time coming in for lunch, had the same excellent experience that I've enjoyed for dinner many a time.

Definitely will never go back. I ordered the prime rib, it came out like it had been sitting on a car dashboard for a few days. Dry as a bone and barely warm. So I sent it back for a ribeye and what I got was again a thin tough piece of meat that was more like a cheap thin NY strip. Everything we ordered felt like it was prepared hours before and was sitting under a heat lamp.

We enjoyed brunch on the patio but the food and service were adequate. My daughter did not enjoy her undercooked pancakes (even after having them cooked a second time with the same result) and my Crab Cake Benedict dish was bland. No plans to return anytime soon.
