Founding Farmers MoCo Review

The food is quite good. I had the chicken and waffles with Mac and cheese, and green beans. Everything tasted made from scratch, the Mac and cheese was very good. The portions are generous. The decor is heavy on the jarred vegetables and buzzwords on reclaimed wood.

The food and drinks are fine, but the service leaves much to be desired. This place is a Seinfeld sketch waiting to happen. I've been here twice, and each time, we had a reservation. However, they took more 30 minutes to seat us. The host then tried to blame other customers for taking too long, but the fact is that they have poor management. If the restaurant is full, they should not accept walk-ins. I also don't think these are isolated incidents as some friends of ours have also made the same complaint. I won't bother with this place anymore as it's just a waste of time.

"See, you know how to take the reservation, you just don't know how to hold the reservation and that's really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody can just take them."

Great food and good place for gatherings -especially on nice days; take advantage of outside seating.

This is a very busy restaurant i ate here and applied for a job offer didn't get it but their food is great really good breakfast and brunch spot

Great place to enjoy breakfast with the family. Price is a bit steep for the amount of food you get and side items can add up quick.

This place is great. I've been here many times and have never been disappointed. They have a vast menu and everything is delicious. The atmosphere is special, unique, and it has its own charm. The service is quick and the restaurant is clean. I highly recommend Founding Farmers. There plenty of parking with a garage nearby. Reservations are not typically needed. And although it is a nice place to dine, you don't need to dress up to come here.

Exceptional food, fast and friendly service. We were a party of 10 and made a reservation through Open Table. We were seated immediately and the food came out fast.

Pretty good chicken and waffles and drinks. My friends and I like to come here for brunch and end with beignets.

Homestyle cooking in a trendy upscale environment. Portions are huge, and the food is delicious. Service is excellent. The buttermilk biscuits are heavenly, soft and buttery on the inside and crisp and flaky outside. I had the Virginia Ham and Cheddar scramble. It was tasty, but just a little overcooked. My friend got the Hangover Hash, which he said was amazing. Plenty of garage parking. Expect a wait if you don't have reservations. Breakfast for 2 was about $50, without alcoholic beverages.

Service is super friendly, food is nothing super elaborate but it is tasteful and fresh. Many choices to pick from (chicken is so good). Nice vibe and inexpensive. Perfect for brunch or an informal meeting with friends. Always busy so be prepared to wait (well worth it by the way) or if you are in a hurry go straight to the bar.

Love the buttermilk biscuit (2-4) shared appetizer. Love the crab cake eggs benedict as well

Food was good, service was excellent but no changing table in women's or men's restrooms for little ones. I have a 5 mo old son and was told by the hostess to use a tall dresser in the handicapped stall of the women's restroom. As a 5'3 woman, if I hadn't been wearing heels I wouldn't have been able to safely reach my son. Not to mention, it's a dresser so no safety harness and I'm taking away a restroom from an ADA-needing person, should they have needed the restroom. While we loved the food and service, we won't be back - I can't support a restaurant who claims to be family friendly, yet doesn't have this necessary item for families safely available.

VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE HOSTESS! THEY WERE BUSY AND SHE PROCEEDED TO TAKE MY 87 YEAR OLD MOTHER AND i UP THE STEEP STAIRS TO SECOND FLOOR.I LOOKED AND POINTED TO MY ELDERLY MOM AND SHE IGNORED ME. IT TOOK ABOUT 5 MINUTES FOR HER TO MANEUVER BUT HOSTESS COULD CARE LESS! SHE WAS RUDE AND UNCONCERNED. WAKE UP YOUNG PEOPLE! YOUR NEXT TEXT MESSAGE IS NOT THE ONLY THING YOU SHOULD BE CONCERNED ABOUT!

Simple, family food that my mother cooked better. Not bad but boring for me.

Great place to eat a little on pricey side and chicken is to salty

Always a crowd pleaser with fresh food and great service, founding farmers is one of my favorite places to dine. BBQ is flavorful, southern comfort food in on par, and handmade pastas are sure to please. No kids menu but you can order anything a la carte or in a smaller size for kids. Only complaint is that the mac and cheese is on the harder side and not as cheesy as you'd like. Don't forget to order beignets early to round off your meal.

Excellent food. Server was amazingly helpful - I have a lot of food intolerances and she went above and beyond to make sure I could eat everything on my plate, which is not usually an easy feat.

Love their food! Leave here without feeling heavy. So fresh. They make everything in house! Variety, hearty, and healthy! Service is great!

We were part of a large group. The service was fine and the food was a strong ok. I now know I prefer Farmers Fishers Bakers in Georgetown DC.

A wonderful place for brunch with a friend! I had the eggs benedict and a cappuccino. Such a cosy atmosphere with easy parking below. We will definitely be returning! Thanks for great service!

Wow, The food was great. I will go back many many times

This was ok... Was expecting much more from a founding Farmers restaurant. We had been to the DC/Chinatown location before and loved it. This location was known for the Mac and cheese and the fried chicken. The chicken was well done and juicy but the mac and cheese was mediocre at best. Our party had ordered two prime ribs, both were dry and chewy and not melt apart as typically expected for a prime rib. In house sodas were pretty amazing and definitely worth the try.

Service on the other hand was excellent. Server was extremely knowledgeable on the menu and replaced the prime ribs with an alternate dish. Manager also came by to check on us and explain the situation.

We'll probably stick with the DC location from now on.

Been here multiple times in the past with excellent service and food. Got curbside takeout this evening and food was excellent with exception of the burger being cooked medium rare (which was not eaten at home unfortunately due to undercooking) when we asked specifically for it to be cooked well.

OMG if you haven't tried this place yet, you have to. Every single, I mean every single dish they make is from scratch, yes from scratch. On top of the amazing food is the waitress I had. Not going to say any names, but she's a young girl from Massachusetts she goes to the University of Maryland and was absolutely by far the best, I mean the BEST server I have EVER had. And I go out to dinner every day. So go there if you havent..you'll thank me.

Love the concept but the execution on the food, for dinner at least, wasn't all that tasty considering the price. Still not sure if it was just an off day or not.

Disappointing Thanksgiving meal. The ham was dry and bland, sides were lackluster and the pie looked like someone hacked away at it and threw it in the container. The whole meal was unappealing in its presentation and taste. The process of picking up my order was fast and efficient which I appreciated. The employee was super friendly I just wish the meal would have been better.

Decent service. Food is good. It gets too crowded at times. There is usually a wait during peak hours.

Went down Sunday evening with my lady per recommendation and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere in there is great, the food was amazing and I ve never ordered a hot dog off the menu and wanted to go back and get it again! And the little Easter eggs they have there is great like the numbers on the silverware. Our waiter was super knowledgeable about everything about the restaurant s Story . We also had the pleasure of sitting and chatting with the bartender Danny, did such a great job helping us with the menu, and explains how they distill their own spirits. All and all my experience was great and I m excited to go back!

Listen, the food here is simply awesome - just a real treat. Everything that comes out of the kitchen is so fresh and delicious it just keeps you coming back for more. However, when we visited on Sunday afternoon the service was another story. We were seated and a waiter took our order, about 90 seconds later another server came over and said she was taking over for our guy. The transition created a mess. First, we didn't receive our skillet cornbread (delicious by the way!). Our entrees arrived and we asked where our cornbread was - it was clear it had been forgotten. The waitress said she would go get it for us. We asked for a spoon for soup and a side of mayo for our food that had just arrived. The waitress said no problem and promptly went over to a table of 10 to take their order while our food sat and got cold. It was just really, really poor service and not what we've come to expect from other Founding Farmers locations.

Went there for brunch. There weren't a lot of menu options, but all basics we're covered. We tried the beignets hoping they would be like what we experienced in New Orleans, but they tasted a bit greasy. We will visit again for lunch or dinner, but would probably find a different restaurant for breakfast.

I always have a great experience at MoCo s founding farmers! The food is fresh, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the staff is very friendly. I was served by Shon who was such a joy! He was able to have conversations, make recommendation, and be a part of our experience without overwhelming it - a perfect balance for a server.

The food was ok. Our table ordered the avocado bread, the chips spreads and dip, and the black pepper wings for starters. The entres were the planked salmon, ribeye, and scallops and risotto. The steak was overcooked, and the sauteed greens were hard to bite. The cocktails also took over 30 minutes to get to our table. I will note be returning to this restaurant in the future.

Delicious stuffed french toast & amazing bacon. Usually pretty busy but worth it.

It was our 1st time and the food was awesome, we will definitely go back! The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is due to our waiter not visiting our table in a timely fashion or enough times. It was crowded but we noticed the rest of the wait staff serviced their tables better than ours did. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

The wait was minimal. The food was very good, I ordered the Crab Benedict, yummy! The wait staff is attentive, but doesn't hover. All and all, a lovely experience. Will definitely return.

Ordered cauliflower steak. It was good. Sauce was yummy. Wish they had more vegan options. Good vegetarian options. If I could give 3.5 stars I would.

Place has some good food! I thought it was going to be overpriced but it wasn't too bad. The waiter knew everything there and was very enthusiastic. Would definitely come back to eat again.

Very neat and accessible restaurant. They offer large meals and for affordable rates. We loved the menu very much and the staff were very welcoming and explanatory. Highly recommended.
