Watch them make fresh fortune cookies and have a free sample! Warm and delicious!! Employees were very friendly!
Very neat place. It was cool to watch the cookies being made. They gave out delicious free samples to everyone in line and put extras in my bag. You can even have cookies made with custom messages! They are also very affordable compared to other tourist spots in San Francisco.
Go for the plain flavor. They give you fresh warm cookies to try
The fortune cookie factory was very interesting I would recommend going here only if you are already planning on visiting the area. It is a fairly short experience and you only get to walk in about ten feet. They do have interesting fortune cookie options such as chocolate coated and strawberry.
Attentive when looking for it because the place is very small! I loved visiting it! There are people making the cookies right there, they welcomed us very kindly and not only did they not charge me for taking photos, they invited us cookies of what they were making although we only bought a take-out box. Many typical views of the Chinatown in the streets near the business.
Hard to find, disappointed in the flavor and pricing.
What a fun little hole in the wall! Don't miss this. We got to write our own fortunes and watch them place them in the cookie. They give out yummy samples too.
Nice place to buy some fortune cookies, you can even put your own text in there!
We wrote our own fortunes to exchange with each other, wonderful experience.
Great place where you can see how they make fortune cookies and where they also give you free tastes.
Fresh handmade fortune cookies. They have the traditional vanilla flavor a d now have chocolate, strawberry & green tea flavors. Their chocolate covered fortune cookies are really good also. You can buy the flat cookies and even make your own custom fortune. They put in a Chinese take out box to keep from being squished.
A good place for souvenir with history in Chinatown...staff were friendly...recommend if you're in the area
Great place, really small but fascinating. Free sample but urge you to visit and buy something as their rent has just been quadrupled. The machine used to make the cookies is amazing and unique.
Just the smell lured us in. Lovely place and people
A peculiar place that deserves the visit and the purchase of some of the most famous cookies of fortune.
So cool to see where the best fortune cookies are made. Got one hot off the line. Stop by for a quick visit.
Went in and had a look. Purchased a few bits to keep this local business going. Received some freebies and a little bag. Top stuff.
A fun little random stop-off in Chinatown! The 'free tours' line is a bit much, as this is really just one small room, but it's great to see how the fortune cookie-making process is actually done (surprisingly simple, or maybe they just make it look that way). You can buy huge bags of cookies, including novelty flavours and messages! Fun for ten minutes' diversion.
Tasy fortune cookies fresh and warm with minimal wait.
Funny experience, if you have never seen how fortune cookies are made. Very small shop and well hidden. You may taste and is facing a large selection. When you buy you get a few cookies as a gift. Great in taste.
Good place to BUY a box/bag of fortune cookies at where they are made and mysteriously decorated somewhere else.
Great to see it! The best fortune cookies I have ever had.
Well worth the visit and purchase of the famous fortune cookies. Attention sits on a pretty narrow narrow Chinese street.
Fresh batch of Fortune Cookies guaranteed! Do not be misguided by the looks of the place and location. Great quality at a great price!
Tasty fortune cookies, interesting to watch them being made.
Very cool. Everyone is so nice and it is very interesting to see.
Awesome place, smell so good, I don't know fortune cookie can taste that good
OMG! Always so nice - this is where they manufacture the fortune cookies - go there during operating hours for a real treat of this tiny but enchanted place - get a free cookie and shop for some unique creations!
Their fortune cookies actually taste different than the normal fortune cookies you get from restaurant (in a good way). They offered all kinds of customize fortune cookies. I got the adult version fortune cookies and a giant fortune cookies. The adult fortune cookies content is ok, some was extremely funny, but mostly is just ok. The giant fortune cookies is great for look, the outer skin is extremely hard as compared to the normal one and not tasty at all. Would recommend the giant fortune cookies for hand gift or decoration but definitely no for the taste. But the normal sized one is actually pretty good.
Also you need to pay 50 cent per photo you took inside.
Got some samples and also bought some to nibble on afterwards. You can see how it is made out in the open. You can take pictures but you need to tip them. It was a little hard to find since it is in an alley and not on the main Street. One tidbit that might be good to check out is that on the other end of the alley, there is a map mural of where you are at.
Quite interesting to see the process of the cookies being made
Fun little place. Write your own fortune cookie messages. Probably cash only.
Good tourist stop when visiting china town. Fresh yummy fortune cookies. Only thing I hate is the space is super small and that they charge you to take a picture which is super weird...
2 fresh cookies with your own messaging for $1.50. Makes great add ons to bday gifts.
Strange dungeon like factory in the heart of China Town.
Very overrated. Very much a quick walk in walk out. Buy a pack and go
Unique San Fran experience, great tasting cookies as well.
Curiosity of San Francisco located in Chinatown. What you see is what you get. A little edges the people who attend L tourism. The photo is worth 50 cts. Nothing pleasant or open.
Cool experience and many different types of Fortune cookies.
Their cookies smell good, fresh, and they are super friendly. Just prepare cash and coin coz you have to park on the side street with parking meters. I'm have to looking for it for 5 min coz it was located in a small alley so pay attention.
A great little space to check out. Really small, but ive never had fresh fortune cookies.
Got to watch the fortune cookies be hand folded. Some dipped in chocolate and sprinkles. You can write your own message or get a big cookie made. All very affordable and well worth the stop.
Very small and hard to find. You do get to see how they make them... although they do charge you for any pictures you take inside.
Tiny back alley place but so fun! You can really watch them making fortune cookies, taste samples, and even write your own fortune.
This is a fun place to get some fortune cookies. I like the flat (unfolded) cookies. They have the regular flavor, strawberry, green tea and chocolate! They even sell cookies dipped in chocolate with sprinkles. It's a fun place to stop by. Sometimes it's super busy with a line (tourist groups come by), and sometimes it's quiet.
Okay not going to lie, fresh, hot fortune cookies are AMAZING! Totally so worth the stop. It is like a 5 minute activity but everyone needs to try fresh fortune cookies once in their life!!
How much fun can you in cookie factory? It was great. Custom cookies and all...
Famous authentic fortune cookie maker in SF. They offer free cookies wrapper for you to try in the store. They also offer the cookies in different size and favors (regular, chocolate, strawberry, green tea). I personally feel the regular is the best.
Loved this place. They had fresh cookies to try and they were amazing! Also you could get all kinds of cookies and even ones with a personal fortune!
Very friendly welcome and directly there are freshly baked fortune cookies to try. It's amazing how the ladies work there in the heat. A visit definitely worth it!
I love this little place. You can make a fortune for someone and they will put it in a cookie. Or you can buy them by the dozen like me.
Teeny tiny shop. It's fun to watch the lady making fortune cookies. Fun part is they have chocolate covered fortune cookies!
Fun short experience that was worth the ten minute wait, the staff was friendly and we made our own fortune cookie
Delicious .. still warm and delicious .. and there were some for free ..
You've gotten them at the end of your meal at a Chinese restaurant, but have you ever seen where they're made?
This small narrow shop pumps these out quickly. You can even write your own message and they'll put it inside the cookie for you and pop it in a cute take away container. Makes a fun and inexpensive gift!
Good cookies. Nice fact to know that it was invented by japanese in SF.
I watched a lady do it, and it s impressive to see how fast she is !
But if you ask question they don t bother answering.
A bit expensive but absolutely fresh, made I front of you eyes.
Small but efficient. Delicious warm samples.
Plus got a "signature recycle bag" and....they tossed in a few more "warm cookies " You must drop by!!!
Very small fortune cookie place, that was actually quite nice. The alley it is down looks and seems like it is the wrong place, but it is the right one. The people in there, despite not knowing perfect english, still tried to help their customers every way they could. If you are interested in seeing some fortune cookies made, or buying some fortune cookies (they have adult rated ones), then I would recommend at least checking it out.
Delicious fortune cookies and for free try there is always something.
Neat place to visit. Fresh fortune cookies are the best!
Interesting but expensive. Not sure worth waiting for 20 minutes.
Fun "tour" but it is just a couple minutes of looking at the fortune cookie making process.
Love this place!!! We come here every time we go to SF. The owner is so nice. He always gives us freebies. The cookies are always fresh and tastes the same way it did when I was a kid.
Quick place to stop while visiting China Town. The fortune cookies were yummy and you can watch them being made right in front of you. You can also put your own fortunes in the cookie! Worth a stop to get a yummy snack!
