Went to checkout personalized fortune cookies for party.
Such a cool place to visit, and great tasting fortune cookies. You can see them make the cookies
I love the cookies here! It was on my list see spot when I visited SF. The cookies tasted delicious when it was still warm and so fresh. Avoid buying the XX rated cookies. I got them as gifts and they fortune was just meh. anyway, when you buy they give you lots of extra fresh cookies in the bag!!
Gotta check a map to find this factory cause it is on a side street. Great to watch the gals make the fortune cookies. So many different flavors!
They make cookies and short tour with cookie tasting
Very fun. Not a destination, but worth stopping when in Chinatown.
You get to see them make the fortune cookies right in front of you. Pretty cool experience. They also hand out free samples. There are different flavors, sizes, and coatings to choose from. Largest fortune cookie selection I ve ever seen. They do take cards, but it s difficult.
If you want a custom fortune cookie come to this place. If not it's a very small space and kinda ackward :). They do give you a free sample and you get to see them making some cookies. I doubt you will spend more than 10 mins here.
Worth a little visit if you're in the area. Can pick up a fresh cookie direct from the makers for a small tip.
Not much bigger than your front room this place is down a rather unassuming back alley. You can watch them choose the fate of thousands as they select a fortune and wrap it in the delicious and still warm little cookies.
Love the atmosphere here a lot. New and fresh fortune cookies are the best!!
Went here to grab some cookie discs, they were fresh and warm. Couple workers were busy making fresh fortune cookies...I waved at one to be friendly and she smiled back at me kindly go check it out, it's pretty cool and tasty.
The staff is not really smiling and the cookies are so expensive
Fun and surprising start for the fortune cookie. It s warm in summer and photos are free if you buy fortune cookies otherwise be prepared to pay 50cents. :) be sure to check out all the alleys and side streets in Chinatown for other great cultural finds!
You can see the process of how they do it! And write your own message and put it inside the cookie!
The lucky Chinatown Cookie Factory is a curious place to visit. They can be seen live and live as they do, and buy some at a good price.
A small shop where you can see how fortune cookies are made. Born in San Francisco!
They can be bought and you can make them with your own message. They are economical. In the same store you see people making cookies constantly. Very curious and great cookies.
it's cute, it's quick, it's tasty! I came here as a kid and I've been craving it for a while now and came down to Chinatown just for it!
See the process of making the cookies is fantastic, a must if you are in San Francisco
Love being able to write my own fortune cookie! The place is cramped and a bit crowded from what I remember but tasty and interesting to watch the process. Not too expensive either!
Worth a stop during your trip to Chinatown. Bit of a wait but got to put hand written notes into fortune cookies for our kids. I would avoid the chocolate dipped fortune cookies as it ruins the flavor and texture
They give you a free flat sample (before it gets turned into a fortune cookie). Very nice people!
Small but cool and they are nice. You can see a manual process of how they are made and buy a bag cheap. You can't even make your own with your own fortunes.
This place is a hidden gem of love in a so so city.
It was so random that we found them! Very interesting, never knew it was produced like this. I should have a great fortune according to them :)
Great cookies! So fresh!!! Super fun experience to watch the cookies being made! A must do!!!
You can tour this small factory on one of the alleys in Chinatown. You see woman at a conveyor belt folding messages into the warm fortune cookies.
Great place to take kids but be prepared to wait in line.
The owner was passing out fortunate cookie flats. To those of us in line. A local woman tried to pass the line and go in with her family! Owner wasn't having it!!! Words were exchanged. I'm sure most tourists in line couldn't understand. But, he won. GO WAIT IN LINE, like the rest. #cudos to the owner. I'll be back, based on his outstanding concern to other's. That waited!
My favourite place to observe and buy fortune cookies! An iconic place in Chinatown
I love the fortune cookie flats. So tasty. I loved writing my own fortune and having it put into a cookie. Adult cookies were silly but not xxx. A fun stop.
I really like the sweets(I think they are salty) fortune cookies.
By cookies means more or less worked dry patties (with or without chocolate ...). You can taste before buying;)
best fortune cookie factory EVER, smells good, staff are friendly, and high quality cookies, with cheap prices
You can personalize your cookie. Great place for gifts.
We went to this place and see live how they do their job. Very nice, they let us try part of the cookie. We buy because they are delicious, freshly made
You can see how those cookies are made and buy fresh ones. They actually taste quite good.
Such a cool little spot to stop an see how fortune cookies are made. A must when in China town
Tiny little shop, lots of fortune cookies to buy but pretty underwhelming considering the hype. Cash only business like pretty much the rest of SF Chinatown, but you get plenty of wafers or cookies per bag.
it's okay. Don't make special trip for this one. You just see cookie factory from outside with option to buy cookies. (which are little expensive than outside shops)
Much smaller than I thought it'd be, but very cool. You can see fortune cookies being made and you can write your own fortunes and have them put into cookies. They also have giant fortune cookies and "dirty" (adult) fortune cookies.
Cool place to watch Fortune cookies being made. Easy to miss it!
Hard to find but such a neat place to see how fortune cookies are made. Makes me smile.
Delicious fortune cookies and fun versions (eg strawberry, or chocolate covered) in a random alley in Chinatown. See how they re made by hand. Try samples warm. Full of charm. Apparently the Warriors love this place too.
Very cool to have a small cookie factory and n the city that s open for public viewing. The cookie making and baking machine looks like it s as old as the building and made by some food beans engineer. The cookies coins roll out hot and still needs the fortune to be inserted, and be finished by hand.
A little piece of San Francisco history. I've been told this is the original home of fortune cookies in the US. And while I'm not sure I completely believe that, it is neat to watch fortune cookies made fresh. You can take pictures, but they kindly ask that you buy something or pay $0.50 (not unreasonable). The location is very tight, so getting in and out isn't fun. But definitely stop by and pick up a bag next time you're in the area.
This is a fun place. Very touristy. You should see it once. Chocolate covered fortune cookies
Fortune cookie made on the spot and who deserved to be good.
You can even choose the messages you want to put in the cookies and we prepare them directly in front of you by including our message.
At the level of the service, it is against the strict minimum.
Fun for kids.
Its literally a store front and you go in and watch two ladies make cookies off a line.
The feature is you can pay $2 to get personalized fortune cookies made, which can be fun as a gift.
Worth stopping by if you're in Chinatown anyway, but don't make it a destination stop if you're not planning to spend much time in the area.
Neat piece of history if you're into this kind of stuff, but there really isn't much to look at or do besides see a few workers make cookies and see a bunch of pictures/murals of other people here. You'll be expected to buy something and even pay to take a picture but the cookies and flavors are fresh and different.
Place in China Town where the famous fortune cookies are made, a small place where you can see in situ how the Chinese make the cookies and package them.
They give you a taste of cookies, ideal to take as a souvenir on your visit to San Francisco.
Pretty cool. I loved watching how the cookies are made.
I love going there!
the cookies are always fresh and delish
the people working there are nice and they even give you free samples in your bag with purchase....
And! its culture and its history
soooo...
if you don't have culture and if you don't have history
you very possibly don't have appreciation for our human differences in life....
I'm just sayin....
Unbelievably small space putting out so many cookies...and delicious!
Tiny little Shop but they were very nice. For $5.50, we got a bag of chocolate and vanilla fortune cookies. We also got to personalize fortune cookies (2 for $1.50), a bunch of flay cookies, and a quick picture. A fun visit to Chinatown, followed by a brief walk round and a reflexology/massage down the street. :)
If you are curious on how fortune cookies are made, you have to visit this store. You can sample and purchase these cookies. They taste awesome just out of the oven.
Great cookies, and fun to see them being made. Don't forget to tip for a picture..
To discover how Chinese biscuits are made of luck. Small shop, the ladies were very nice. We make you taste the cookies while hot. To do
Worth a quick pop in to sample the almond cookie and watch the magic. Remember to tip staff if taking photos inside. They have varieties of chocolate dipped cookies as well.
Fun to seen how they make the fortune cookies by hand. Free samples and some small overpriced but tasty variations on a theme.
Absolutely historic factory in a very old building in the alley.
This is one of the "tourist attraction" places that our hotel suggested. Oh~ yes, many tourists all show up here, some even came with tour guide.
It is a very small shop/factory, making fortune cookies. It is interesting to see how the machine operates. Only 3 staffs needed to operate the machine.
The staffs are very friendly and even offer us samples. They do sell different kind of cookies, very reasonable price.
Friendly aunties who opened their doors early for us. Location can be a bit tough to find since it's down a narrow alley.
Only takes a minute, but worth the stop. Especially if you have ever wondered how they get those little fortunes inside the cookies!
Fun little hole in the wall, watch them fold the fortune cookies and get a sample
Nice historic place. But after a while you say OK, that's it?
