This is the poorest experience I had in London. I had physically come in the store with my husband and a small size of dog and checked if we could bring the dog next time for afternoon tea, then a staff said it's fine as long as we can hold him the whole time. So I booked the table for anniversary celebration 2 week in advance on the opentable. Then another staff just said No rudely and asked me why I didn't checked with their manager - how I suppose to know I need to check with manager when someone already said YES???

There is no better way to enjoy the royal afternoon tea other that at Fortnum & Mason. It may look pricey but worth the experience. Make sure to make a reservation in advance and try to have enough room in the belly for the sandwiches, breads, desserts and cake! Don't forget to explore all four floors to shop variety of items.

I like its extensive selection about british tea culture. I could learn how they do for its branding and get inspired a lot. It would be hard not to buy anything there after looking around those enchanting fabulous products.

A British institution. They have a great selection of standard foods they retail which are locally sourced and produced in most instances. I absolutely love thier window displays and seasonal food hampers for those with a sweet festive tooth. Absolutely a must visit during Christmas time. They have a range of really cool and elegant celebration items which make for really nice collectibles and gifts. Good service and quality as expected from the royal family grocer.

too full, too crowded. and if you wish for afternoon tea make a booking for sure. i found the extension into clothes, fragrances and table / homewear rather odd. teas and biscuits are lovely - i buy most of the time at the airport to avoid those giant plastic bags

a magnificent store in La Fauchon. You will find (for a certain price!) All the best English specialties. Wonderful teas, cupcakes, but also teapots, dishes, etc.
Even if you don't buy anything go there to have a look it's wonderful!

Here for Afternoon Tea, and then picked up a couple of bits as a side to Sunday dinner. Items that just add that special touch. We are lucky, we live in London. If you don't, and are just visiting, you must put this place on your schedule. In addition to the products they sell, and the food they serve, you will not forget the great service. I love it.

We went for the afternoon tea today. Expensive for what it is. The staff was very polite but I felt "alone" : nobody proposed to refill for tea or food, and while apparently lots of people left with their remaining in a bag, it was not proposed to us !
So 55 pounds (+12.5%of service) for 2 small scones (not even warm), 5 fingers sandwiches and 5 very small cakes is really too much! I had a wonderful souvenirs of an afternoon tea there 20 years ago, today won't stay in my memory.

I highly recommend the afternoon tea experience at the Diamond Jubilee Tea Salon. The service was impeccable and the food was amazing. It's also worth noting that it's unlimited afternoon tea so get more of the food you love, and if there's any left over, they're happy to provide you with boxes and a bag to take it home with you!

One would have thought given how covid has changed the way we shop in 2020, this department store would prepare itself ahead with the surge of online demands during the Christmas period. No. Delivery was late, next day or faster delivery services were unavailable, the online customer service agents were either rude or unapologetic. I would advise against doing any Christmas shopping with them.

Very upscale tea set vendor, Fortnum and Mason is a British favourite. This is a large store selling sets and a variety of tea gift sets and sweets. This is a great place for small gifts. The second floor has a large showroom for the fine china.

Nice visit to the cafe and it was OK. I was expecting wonderful, but really got nothing exciting to write home about. We ordered pastries, scones and coffee. I just didn't get the wow factor and honestly felt plenty of other cafe's would have given same or better quality...sorry.

Must buy tea bags, there are many service staff, help find your favorite types of tea. Tea is really delicious. There is a food hall in the basement. It is recommended to take out scones and creams.

We stopped in for afternoon tea in the salon and had a fabulous time. The service was excellent and kept our food topped up and tea hot. We ate our fill and enjoyed the entire experience. Although expensive, this tea fits in line price wise with most other London options. Dress up and enjoy the day!

Amazing place with fantastic teas, go to the adjoining restaurants or your missing out. Also make sure to go upstairs and not just visit the first floor. Whole building is overwhelmingly wonderful!

Went yesterday, near Christmas, so many people, so dizzy. There are various teas, biscuits, chocolates, jams and honey in the shopping area. The packaging is so beautiful ( _ ). Tea is also weighed in bulk. There is also a place for lunch. A department store with a fantastic decoration.

Can never fault the service in this British institution. My first port of call in this store is always the food halls. While it is expensive, the quality of the food sold here is first class. Downstairs is where the wines & spirits department is located (good place to find unusual liquors), ports, Madeiras & champagnes.
This store is the best of all London food halls in my opinion (better than Harrods or Harvey Nicholls).
This store has a long history of providing quality provisions to kings & archaeologists since 1707. This store is always worth a visit while you are in London.

Fortnum & Mason is gorgeous and stocks items that you will actually want and will actually purchase. This shop has quality goods and you cannot fail to find something for gifts or to treat yourself. The architecture is historic and lovely.

My mother and I popped in for tea while on a museum day out in London. When we arrived the staff asked if we were aware of the prices which is understandable given the number of visitors that just wander through every day. As we had come on the train and we were on a long day out we had on our walking boots and comfy clothes, however, once we were seated we were asked several more times if we were aware of the prices - once is understanble, three times is just insulting. Once seated we got the distinct impression that we were not worthy of the staff's time or interest. We shall not be visiting again, next time we will return to Claridges who have far superior service.

Fantastic place to go right in the heart of London...

Fantastic place to go right in the heart of London. Very clean with polite staff. The only inconvenience for us was the lifts. It would be more ideal if the lifts were a little more spacious so that more people could fit on in the lifts. We were intending on travelling to the third floor from the ground floor. We called for a lift after everyone in the queue before us got on their way in the lifts and to our surprise, another group of people completely pushed in front of us and got in the lift. We couldn't fit on to the lift as it was already full. We then had to wait for the lift to come back which took a large amount of time. In the end, we went across the shop floor to another lift, we got on it and then immediately got back out because the lift could only reach level 2. I understand it is an old building and the infrastructure cannot be changed but bigger lifts would be ideal.

The place is classic, the ground floor and the first floor are sold in honey and many types of tea and household items, and there is a very sophisticated coffee in the upper floor.
I recommend visiting this store with all force and it is suitable to purchase gifts knowing that it has a special packaging department

A very beautiful store! I felt like stepping in back in time. The atmosphere was very nice, no loud music or loud conversations. Customers were treated with respect. Worth a visit, even if you don't buy anything.

Staff incredibly attentive and respectful of distance. Hand sanitiser stations strategically placed. One ways systems. A great experience that eased our anxieties when shopping. Thank you.

Well if ever a place were resting on its laurels, this is it. I waited well over 5 minutes to be served at a chocolate counter. In that time, 7 staff were present, some all the time, others came and went. Only one was serving a customer. Not a single member of staff looked up, smiled and said someone would be with me soon. I and the others waiting were completely ignored. I'd have had a better reception at a market stall. I passed my comments on to a manager nearby who was engrossed in looking at gadget in his hand. He said 'I'm sorry about that madam', and that was it! He didn't offer to help me himself, come over and see what the problem might be, or anything else vaguely helpful. What a wasted opportunity to display some excellent (or even vaguely ok!) Customer Service.

Fancy!

One of the best shopping experiences in London if you are looking for upscale items. The food hall is just wonderful and who knew there are so many blends of tea or flavours of honey or preserves available. You can even have a tour of the shop. The tea rooms offer very tasty food and drinks. Each floor is just a measure to wander through even if you do not see what you want to buy. A really lovely place to shop or have a break.

Where do I start, I mean first time visiting must say it was different to many other places. Been built since 1707 I can only imagine the horrors that were happening in the first 200-25p years of the building's existence.
Food was served as sandwiches variety of meals and as you can expect portions were significantly small, however once I finished eating everything I felt full. Its like the little drop of beef wellingthon I ate expanded three times in size once digested lol. Tea was amazing though elderflower top choice

Definitely worth a visit. This store has been around many years. Staff in coat tail uniforms. Extremely busy this time of year. Sited in Piccadilly. Is expensive but some bargains can be found as well. If you haven't been, well worth a visit. Several floors offering different things.
