As I have never experienced anything like that before, it was quite an eye opener.
If you in London and have a spare hour, you really need to go give it a visit.
Everything in store is top end quality and if you are a chocolate lover then you will be in heaven.

I love this place. The things, the beautiful things. The hampers. The heritage. The wealth of knowledge. I am always widly conscious of my social class when I visit. Wonderful!

Paradise for tea lovers! I didn't eat the restaurant because I was in hurry, but I will come back for sure to try it

It maintains all the English classicism every day better seems to me something of reference to visit in London and buy its exquisite thes and cookies.

Characteristic English shop. Spread over several floors. The famous sweets are on the ground floor.

Super mega "shop". Exaggerated prices but quality products. The staff are polite and courteous. For tea lovers: a must visit!

Loved both the savoury and sweet scones. The sandwiches were simple but so pleasant. Some of the savoury dishes were a little too rich.

Loved the tea - I got the smokey earl grey; went and brought a box afterwards it was that good. Service wasn't bad, overall a good experience and would recommend especially with an offer.

Wonderful place famous for tea, but where you can find a well-stocked supermarket and several floors with objects of great elegance. There are at least four places to have tea, eat and enjoy ice cream and every detail is taken care of perfectly.

First of all, I was always a customer of Fortnum & Mason, the historical English brand, my husband always buys their hampers in Christmas, and we always believed in their quality of products and the service.
Yesterday (04.05.2016), I was really happy to reunite with my high school classmate from home and as it happens she works in the shop because my friend really recommended their afternoon tea and it's also really famous among the country, she invited me for the afternoon tea on the 4th floor.
The food was alright, the scones came in the beginning so when we had them they were already cold, apart from it, it took time to get the waiters' attention, they simply just passed by without noticing the customers' need and I seldom had hot tea to drink because they rarely came to fill in hot water.
In the end, the reception man "Sebastian Westcheler" came to say he needed to take the bill from us as we booked for 2 hrs afternoon tea. We accepted and my friend gave him her staff card for a 25% discount, after it his attitude started to change. He went to change the bill and came back to charge, my friend was going to invite me but I insisted to split the bill, as we were talking in our language Mr. Westcheler was really impatient and asked my friend "so are you splitting", then he took our check and left, after around 10 mins he came saying that we needed to go and we said alright. We thought he would at least let us finish our unfinished cakes as there were at least 3-5 free tables and no one seemed was waiting; but in around 5 mins he came again and spoke really rudely kicking us out, I even told him there were plenty of free tables and we were just finishing our remaining food.
Before we left, I was asking another man in suit for Mr. Sebastian Westcheler's full name, and then Mr. Sebastian Westcheler came and shouted at us saying "I already told you three times to leave, it's unacceptable", then he told me to get his name from his name badge and pointed at my friend saying he would tell her manager about it.
I am really mad about this service and attitude from their staff, I have had several afternoon tea experiences in London including Claridge's and Browns hotel I've never been treated like this. Yes, my friend does work there but we are customers today, and I would rather give them back the 25% discount we had than having this kind of rubbish service (that we have paid 12.5% service charge for).
It was an incredibly unforgettable afternoon tea experience I ever had and it is obvious that I will never go there or buy their products again, and surly, noun of my friends and family will go there either.

I am spreading the message to everyone I know about the disgusting practice that goes on at Fortnum & Mason. So long as they continue to sell Foie Gras this place will continue to lose business at a growing rate.

Busy at Christmas time, as you would expect. The staff and service is always top notch, as is the quality of the merchandise. It is fast becoming the store of choice for me in London.

Truly British feel shopping experience and heritage. Don t expect you can only find tea bag here, you can also find food market and fashion stuff here! Worth to pay a visit if you come to London!

Tasting yourself at the bar and having a dessert will be a great experience.
Also, be sure to buy jam and have it at home.
Of course, it tastes less than eating there,

Extraordinary place! Worth knowing its 4 floors, and I recommend, if possible, take the classic Afternoon Tea on the 4 floor. Excellent!

The staff were very rude in directing me around the store but were much less dictatorial with other customers. Very unlike previous visits. I was very disappointed.

We absolutely loved the afternoon tea experience here - as we were doing some sightseeing near Piccadilly Circus. The store is lovely and the tea selection is beautifully displayed. The setting, atmosphere are so charming. Staff are friendly and polite - from the time you walk through the door you are welcomed with a smile. You can eat as much as you like - and if you can't finish it - they are happy to pack up the cakes and desserts for you to take home. Worth a visit!

Very refined and elegant place sla da te on the 4th floor delicious and great food. It also sells jewels, perfumes, clothes and accessories of all people as well as fine and exquisite foods

Wont buy from this place again due to the use of Foie Gras. Its banned everywhere else as its one of the cruelest production methods in use today.

A place where you can breathe the tradition, very interesting and particular. Be careful, however, the prices are terrific.

Was on London for a half term treat and my better half wanted to visit the store. Fantastic food department, great men's floor and the toilets were absolutely spotless

This is surely one of the highlights in terms of department stores in London. Although the prices are very high, it is still worth a look. We were there at the end of November when Christmas Shopping was in full swing, what an experience. Actually, for the real experience you should buy a Christmas package for the ultimate Christmas feeling. The food department is on the ground floor. Furthermore, Nasr upstairs, via the beautiful staircase, are the women's and men's departments.

I adore this place. Fabulous products and service. A true delight.

Free tea in the parlour when you buy something in the shop. Thought it would be a great experience. Unfortunately they treated us terribly. We will not return.

Great for excellent teas, and once and a while go the full nine yards and have afternoon tea here. One of the best for the price in London.

Great store with lots to offer but it was incredibly busy with not enough staff to cater.

Convenient to shop for everything from top-quality tea and related products, wine and snacks. However, there is no corner for tasting, so you can feel the scent of tea properly and it is difficult to buy.

Lovelly shop and full of enthusiastic people in hospitality areas... you will have a wonderfull experience, spending time will be exciting and allways you will wanna return. Every season is something new and inspiring! Full of art in any sense!!!

The location and variety of products especially tea and sweets

high quality department store. Found it different to the other department stores. Being new to London I found it to be a good experience coming here. Particularly like their variety of teas and biscuits available for purchase.

Would be nice if they sorted their website out. It crashed whilst placing an order on Friday 11th July 2014 and now on Wednesday 16th July it is still down. I was at the point of paying for the goods when it crashed.I had literally just pressed confirm. Obviously this caused concern as I had no idea if the order has been processed. On telephoning the helpline I found the staff very helpfull . Was informed that the order had not been processed and they retook my order. I made the point of requesting / suggesting that the I.T. support group needed to be informed. Was told they would.
On recieving my goods yesterday ( the site crashing meant the preffered Monday option I had " ticked " was no longer available ) I needed to contact Fortnum's & tried online first , the site was still down. Contacted by phone instead . mentioned the online problem as well as my initial cause to contact. Wished to shop online this morning & as of 10am its still down. The store is wonderful with a wide range of items the equals of which are not normally seen in most other retailers , the staff are helpful , knowledgable, friendly and chatty .However the system failure is a problem and they have lost my trade this morning . I have contacted the store ( again ) to inform them of the problem ... let us see what happens.The store maybe 307 years old the I.T system is not !
Will recomend the afternoon tea especially after an afternoon shopping in Bond Street or as I call it suffering the other half's shoe shopping......Must be something in the Geneva convention about such things ! Happy shopping .

I just fell in love with this store! It's so beautiful: the building, the displays, the theme (it was "Alice in Wonderland"). And of course top quality chocolate truffles, jams, teas, coffees, and homeware... Definitely worth a visit!

It's great to buy a gift tee and chocolate souvenir.
It's all about tasting and tasting, and the price is also cheap, so you can live with it. Chocolate is just the same, but tea is also in England! I'm full of regrets

Had a lovely lunch with my son and daughter in law. I was happily surprised that they were taking part in the 50% government scheme.

A wonderful shop, it seems to enter England of the past, with class and in perfect English style. On the ground floor, biscuits, sweets and all kinds of tea in beautiful packs, on the lower level a mouth-watering delicatessen and on the upper floors, high-class men's and women's clothing. Really gorgeous. Last but not least, an incredible tea room!

the enviorment is nice but the service here is quite terrible, the management should be improved a lot!! highly not recommond any visitors come due to it s pricey but without comapreable service, totally not worth this price. Any staff approach table until we stand up to call them, nither when we arrive nor we finished our dishes. Tea is good but foods just normal.

Most stressful shopping experience I've had. Too busy, not enough staff on the floor to help. No samples to try tea obviously available where they are selling tea. The only real positive I can think of is that it was very clean.

Nice to check out some great quality products. Part of England shopping history.
