Nice place for any type of functions. Best place for destination wedding. Fort has history of over 300 years. There is a well maintained museum at the base, consists of thousands of antic objects. You will get to see beauty of lot of historic pieces here. Quite far from central Pune but worth visiting or attending any function.
An excellent Old Fort turned Hotel. Open for visit and buffet. Museum plus adventure tours for INR 1500. From the highway the access road near about 1km is broken road, but good enough to drive. Highly recommended.
What I liked the most is the green belt in which it is situated. Sparecly populated area. Good fresh air. Royal treatment. A well kept heritage site. Good pool, beautifully decorated spaces. Rooms are good but I found it to be a little expensive esp when you compare with other heritage hotels in Rajasthan. Other than room tarrif all is good. Be sure to take your sneakers along as there are too many huge stairs since it's a fort :)
We went for our Anniversary celebration yesterday and bought honeymoon package which included multiple complementary things. However, even basic complementary things were provided after constant reminders at the reception. Not at all worth the amount they have charged. Place was scenic and clean but apart from that we didn't enjoy the way we thought. Food wasn't good enough, reception guys are telling us that we get complementary things only when we ask them to put everything in place. A complementary photoshoot was mentioned in the package and when we asked for the same, they simply denied saying it cannot happen and offered us a gift which is not at all worth it. We are completely disappointed and will surely not recommend this to anyone else. Apart from this, Spa services were really good and refreshing. Complete package is not a value for money though! :(
It is a very beautiful place. Location is somehow outside the town, road to reach is ragged. But the place is so damn beautiful. The old styled fort has been converted into a multi utility space. Has various sports to play, scenic spots to just chill and a good maintenance staff. Rooms are good, food is okay. Welcoming is one of the attractions.
Unbelievable property! Courteous & eager to please staff! Food is all fresh & tasty! Chef Mahesh was incredible! F&B Mgr Sumeet! General Manager Tapan!! Beautifully maintained & curated lawns!
Nice place for Destination Function. Food is Tasty & service is also Good. Gadhi, Lawn, Garden & Owner Mr Vithal Kamat's Personel museum is maintained . Only Toilets in the Room & approach road needs improvements. The rates are very high. Over all nice & Beautiful Place.
The place is hidden away from the city hustle bustle. We went to spend an afternoon, but definately worth a stay for 2-3 days. The lawns are well kept and there a plenty of trekking opportunities around the property.
Very good place with very bad staffing. We went there considering this as five star property as mentioned on google but disappointed by staffs behavior. Payatha restaurant is the place where you will find extremely cheap level of staffing. Even people of third class restaurant can behave better than them. I opted for 1 day picnic with breakfast included. Unfortunately we reached the place 5 min late then their breakfast timing and they simply denied me breakfast. Can you imagine. My two year old son was starving. Completely non understanding people.
In lunch all the items were average in test. You can read many different reviews here itself. There was pan item placed on table and I asked one staff to help me out to make a paan and she has a plain reply: sir this is self service. This was really embarrassing. On table you will have to look for waiter to clean plates.
Apart from that everything is cool here. It is really a very good place to enjoy and spend weekend. Garden is very well maintained. Aai musiem is preserved in extremely well condition. When you see all the items decorated in glass it will give you vibes of royality.
So my overall experience is mix, because place is well maintained but you can't charge this much with such level of staffing.
A great combination of heritage and modern comfort, a cool getaway for a day or two.
The experience starts from the gate where you are welcomed in traditional way with an application of tilak and "tutari" (trumpet) playing at the entrance.
Check-in is a breeze and rooms are modern, but an extension of a heritage. You would find all modern amenities inside for a comfortable stay. Tents are on the outskirts of the fort and not within the premise.
Food is sumptuous, and indeed very delicious. In fact local city people visit the restaurant just for the food. The salad, fruits all are freshly cut and served. Drinks are charged extra and not part of buffet. Morning breakfast has fresh juices and variety of beverages. Not much of desserts options, but whatever are offered are fresh. The gulab jamuns were great.
Sight seeing within the dirt is a 2-3 hour affair, and provide quiet a view around the fort. To keep the guest engaged there are variety of activities and games including a target range. One can also spend time to learn traditional are of tutari playing. Traditional martial arts are organised on request. A nice pool at the top of the fort, in a very unique setting with a tree in the middle - a serene feeling. Have not tried the spa though.
The most recommended activity would be an early morning trek to catch the sun rising at the horizon. One can see the entire city and see the stretch up to Purandar fort (not visible during winter fog). One can also see lush greenery and a blanket of fog covering the plains. The trek is medium (easy for locals). A big shout out of for the guide who escorted our group, Mr. Talekar and ex service man, who also doubles up as an excellent photographer.
The stairs are quiet of a height, given no alterations were done to the soul of the place - the fort, and could be an issue for old people. However staff are all eager to ensure your comfort during the stay.
Advisable to travel in group of friends/family and definitely an experience to be cherished on way back. Highly recommended.
Nice location and ambience is great..... beautiful place for spending time with family or friends...nice heritage site .....and you can see museum here
Fantastic for a weekend stay! But, just worried as to, how are you keeping the lake area open with some nice cottages open to them hills. A little scary but the view is spectacular! :)
A must visit for a weekend. Its amazing how Mr Vitthal Kamat has succeeded in turning this historical monument into a 5 star property while preserving its essence. The food here is excellent.( do not miss the Jadhavgadh special kheer)
Jadhavgadh is a very small fort instead It is like a big Haveli. It is on Saswad road from Pune and it s approach road is very bad and narrow. But once you are there you will feel good with fusion of old and new comfortable room. There are three places to eat and each has its own charm. Two swimming pool one for kids and another for adults. Guided tour of fort and it s surrounded is also available. Staff is also very cordial.
Decent place. I observed 1 interesting thing that is lifting a stone and carry it for 10 steps to get a "surprise gift". I did that after couple of tries. I lifted the stone in one hand and completed the challenge but the surprise gift was not that attractive. Management, please think over it as a small cardboard photoframe is not worth for that challenge.
Fort Jadhavgadh is one lifetime experience that you shouldn t miss! What makes Fort Jadhavgadh epic? - With a scenic backdrop and a 300 year old Maratha heritage, Fort Jadhavgadh will leave you completely awestruck! Restored and managed by Sir Vithal Kamath, this majestic property was built by Pilaji Jadhavrao-the Marathi General in Chhattrapati Sahuji s army. This dates back to 18th century! Be it the royal entry by the Mavalas who play the traditional tutari to the impeccable rooms, there is something ineffably mesmerizing about staying at Fort Jadhavgadh, the only Heritage Luxury Fort Hotel in Pune, Maharashtra. How are the rooms & staff? -Each room is beautifully decorated with brass vessels, gold-plated vases, paintings and walls adorn monochrome and sepia photographs to give that historic feel. The hotel houses 58 rooms, consisting of three suites, 39 rooms, 12 royal tents and four neem cottages. Like most modern-day hotels, the rooms, suites and tents are equipped with all modern amenities. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and are available 24*7 to solve all your queries or needs. All the rooms of the main fort are spacious and have been uniquely designed to let you gaze up at the stars and feel the cool hill breeze. High speed internet and valet parking is also available at the property!
What about food and dining options? -Apart from being mesmerized by the interiors of the property, one thing that totally blew our minds was the FOOOOD! The flavors were bang on perfect! There are two in-house restaurants here- Chhajja - The Coffee Shop and Payatha - The Authentic Maharashtrian Foothill Restaurant. Both these restaurants serve some delicious local and world cuisine to suit all guests! We absolutely recommend their Maharashtrian delicacies like Thalipeeth, Puran Poli, Kothimbir Vadi, Gavran Chicken Curry with Bhakri and more. Oh yes! They also have an unlimited buffet spread at Payatha where one can eat to their heart s content! Chajja, on the other hand serves delicious continental dishes. Do not miss the Chicken Club Sandwich and Cappucino here! They are toooo good! What else can I watch out for? Fort Jadhavgadh is a complete holiday destination that promises a fresh and exciting experience for all age groups. The hotel offers a wide variety of activities that allow families and friends to participate, bond and spend quality time together. Be it trekking or a visit to the Aai museum-dedicated to mothers, created by Dr. Vithal Kamat by reviving the fort s horse and elephant stable houses, you can do a lot here. Do check out their website to know more about their offerings! One can also explore underground tunnels and the dungeons which are now used to store wine! Isn t that just awesome?
All in all, Fort Jadhavgadh is one staycation experience we just cannot get tired of talking about! It makes you feel connected to your roots and the royal Maratha heritage like no other.
Was at a destination wedding. The hotel is top notch. Service is good. Food has plenty of variety to choose from. A very large fort with spacious spaces for various functions of a marriage that take place. Well organized dj, barati details etc. Marvelous experience
This place has well maintained its heritage. It has got a history associated with it. This fort is 45 mins drive from Pune city. There are two restaurants here which serve all the meals and food is decent enough in terms of quality and taste. Rooms are available to stay here however may not be cost effective. Best seasons to stay here would be monsoon. Pain point is the entry fee to this fort which is Rs.500 which is too much.
Best place to visit especially at summer. Atmosphere is very cool. This is located in Saswad near to Pune You can catch the bus from Swargate bus stand. Natural scenery is awesome. A lot of open space is there. Food is good which costs you at 1200 per head. Here, break fast is totally free starting at 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
Stay was average in comparison to the amount you pay for the chhavani rooms. 1. No network in chhavani rooms which they dont tell you in prior and they charge extra for wifi which is usually free even in 3 star hotels. 2. Payatha authentic maharastrian restaurant was closed on monday. Itz open only on weekends which they also didnot mention earlier before booking. 3. Most of the activities are organized on weekends which is again not told before booking. 4. The road to the hotel is like that of 19th century. The hotel does not provide any transport facility atleast to pickup and drop till the highway. In short, the hotel conceals the info they should provide before you pay for a booking. The saviour was hospitality shown by staff. I would like to mention the names of staff who helped us a lot- Somnath, Ankush, Tukaram, Rounik, Rina and Sagar. Thanks to them for saving our stay. In short, good as 4 star ( not worth as 5-star)
Overall nice experience. They have maintained the fort very well. Very nice food dishes specially non veg.nice garden beside fort and you can have activities there itself..good place for family and groups...
Just visited this lavish property last week and I would highly recommend it to all travellers and people out there who want to spend special moments here like your birthdays/anniversaries or a reunion. As soon as you enter there is a special welcome for everyone with Tutari. There are different suites according to different prices. The food at Payatha and Chajja (inhouse restaurants) was absolutely amazing with live counters and special concerts on Saturday/Sundays. There is also an audio tour arrangement for visiting the fort and the information on this heritage place and the life of Shri Pilaji JadhavRao. They have maintained the Maharashtrian culture and it was surely impressive. Special thanks to GM Biswajeet sir and to each and every staff member because they did a fabulous job. Also they have loads of activities like Navvari saree draping/archery/rifle shooting/zip-line/pottery and many more. We had a great experience here and one should surely come here and experience this Heritage Luxourious property in Pune.
