It felt kind of like a school gym wiyh folding chairs (I've only been there for a concert) but it was cool.

Came here for the winter flea. Very cool building. Lots of great vendors and food available.
Great community spot - always something going on there!
Small local arts center with
sizeable performing space/stage. Artists welcome to display, practice and perform there. Amazingly it also has a cafe open for breakfast and at least lunch. Most delicious sandwich I've ever had. Only concern, when older folks came in for info they were referred to a website for events ... "Because things change frequently" ... They don't print up any schedule. Older persons I heard given this info were not technically saffy and left with no help.
Went to an acoustic show at this location, great place to see a show
Nice large open venue for farmers markets, concerts, orchestra rehearsals, or even casual weddings
Location of the Somerville Winter Farmer's Market. This is a great place for all sorts of pop-up shows and markets. Don't forget the great coffee shop inside. The have excellent baked goods to boot!
So much history! The event staff are very hospitable and helpful. The space is beautifully decorated without compromising the rich history behind the building.
I was at the center for the Somerville Winter Farmer's Market and it in my honest opinion, it is too small but it has some good vendors.
Great night for fundraiser! Only if we could have gone longer without having to shut the sound down LOL
A great space for community productions with a cafe to boot!
Really cool event space, great Cafe serving beer and wine.
Great place for markets, community activities, arts and coffee!
This multiuse arts facility has many activities. Poetry, Story telling, Plays, speed dating. Get their calendar.
There is always something good happening here. I held opening night of my film fest here, I have performed here, I have attended events here and eaten here.
Great place to listen to some music and have a great cup of coffee.
This is an excellent venue for community events, Farmer's markets, and more! Somerville wouldn't be the same without it.
It okay not bad but wish the renting prices were lower
I love the programming at this place! Tip: the lot is often full, so ask in advance about the overflow lots.
Cool place. Enjoyed the show. If you're over 165lbs go easy on the seats though. Lol. Seats are not made for anyone who maybe even slightly overweight as they seemed like they'd give out with the slightest movement. If you are anymore than 210lbs DO not sit down. The chair will probably explode from under you. Lol
It's a great little performing arts space that is sometimes used for local artist markets. Cafe serves good food and the bar is open during events if you want a drink.
The cafe is casual and nice. The main attraction is the architecture of the building. Quite fascinating.
Attended for the Bacon Take Down with the boy. Highlights were the plentiful bacon ice cream sammiches (strawberry was the best) and the most excellent bacon oatcake with blue cheese. I hate blue cheese, but i loved this whatever the heck it was.
Boy would like to remind me that the caramel with the powdered dextrose-bacon concoction was his favorite.
It is a good day for bacon in Somerville.
This is a wonderful venue in Somerville. Go to the Winter Farmer's Market every Saturday morning in the winter, and get some Kombucha on tap. HarvestFest every fall is a great event as well.
Came here for the Christmas market and it was the perfect space for it. Great market, and there was a stage for bands to play too, which was fun. There was an area for kids upstairs too, but I didn't go...
It has a small shop with drinks and food inside. Looks very nice!
You should put more photos of Rooted in google maps so people know about it
I remember (years ago) when this unique old edifice was for sale and I was worried they were going to turn it into condos. My fears were unfounded though - it's a great venue! I've seen Shakespeare, circus, Beardfest, and other arts shows. Keep it on your list!
Awesome performance space. Good coffee in the little cafe.
Great venue, $500 for free community events with sound and video!
Always something interesting when I go there. Not a fancy venue but always something good. Great little cafe inside.
Lovely establishment for the poetry reading I attended today (:
Acoustics were fairly good.
It was slightly off-putting to hear other events going on in the other spaces of the building & also the chatter from the cafe employees (very unprofessional and distracting (: to say the least)
Overall would love to come see other art events taking place here!
Fun spot with really cool local activities. Worth checking it out
Cool place to do an event at. I have attended multiple beer events here and they are always fun. The balcony level inside is neat
I have been to meetings there and have visited the small coffee shop. The coffee is good, the meeting room is large enough for 100 people and they welcome my service dog. Actually, while they legally have to admit service dogs, the joy is in never once having any one, staff or other visitors ask about my having a service dog. That alone is enough for me to give them an extra star.
I go to the cafe for an event that's held there every month. It's an intimate space that evokes those eclectic cafes you'd hang out in with your friends after college classes.
Comfortable and relaxed the service may be slow but it's well worth it they let you linger
Love the atmosphere, nice place to find something special to eat.
Saw comedian Iliza Shlesinger here, small venue (500 ppl), very roomy. Had a bar with packaged snacks (cookies, popcorn, etc).
This is a great local venue. Nice wood floor for dancing and a raised stage. Seems that there is a very active local community that is involved with various events that are held here
Have attended many fun, informative fairs here. Parking can be tough but it's a beautiful space.
Don't bother. No antiques, the oldest damn thing in there was me...
I love this place, it's a great community center. I highly recommend the cafe and the Zumba classes.
I've seen Acrobatic Conundrum, Cirque Us!, and a great magician that I unfortunately cannot remember the name of. Each time I'm there, I have a wonderful time with my family and enjoy the shows. The space is very nice and the mini cafe is too. You can check out all sorts of interesting shows here. I look forward to the next show I see at the Armory.
Great place that has a lot to offer for ever type of art out there
The building is beautiful and was a perfect venue for a blind beer tasting!
So many great activities abound at this place. From farmers markets to drafts fairs to dance nights to yoga, it's just a wonderful historic venue. Check it out! They also have a great little cafe in the front!
The Somerville Armory hosts a number of events throughout the year. Beer festivals, Skill Shares, Bro-ga. It is also the home of the Somerville Winter Farmer's Market, one of the best selections of local produce during the cooler months. The cafe is regularly open for a cup of coffee before any of these events.
Check the website for upcoming events and private rental information.
Only downside is when events feature live music. The main space gets very loud very quickly, and I've yet to be to an event here where the live music wasn't too loud.
It's really good at what it does, which is being an event space for local arts. (if you're looking for armor you're probably out of luck here.)
Fantastic venue for Beyond Wrestling. Nice staff, clean, well lit. A fun time.
A great, chill place for coffee, bagels, and sandwiches. Lots of space and atmosphere that's more lounge or quiet bar than coffee shop. Not very expensive, and hosts live enertainment on the weekends and sometimes in the evenings.
Great multi-use spot. Go check out a winters farmer market or the cafe there!
Went to a wine and cheese tasting from local vendors the set up was nice the vendors were great and the products were delicious. We bought a bunch of cheeses very pleased
Lots of great local events here, like the winter's farmers market and the Somerville Fashion Show and Open Studios every spring.
So many great things about this place. Cafe, farmers market, childbirth classes and much more
Great holiday market with craft/book/art vendors, food and drink available for purchase.
Historically rich, supportive of the arts, and welcome to people of all walks of life.
