Fort Jadhavgad!!

Fort Jadhavgad!!

I was a little skeptical to go this place as I though it would be a strenous and hectic place to look for. As soon as I reached this place with my team, to my wonder looking at the nature trail, all of my tiredness flew away.

Such an awesome environment, excellent food(veg+non-veg.), especially the cheeze-mushroom-masala-omlette(for non-veg lovers) and puri-bhaji, thalipeeth, idli sambar, live dosa and uttappa counter, my my my.
Now coming to nature trail, it is really fantsatic to see the greenery allover the place with extinguished set of flowers from sonchafa, prajkta etc. You would love to photoshoot here without any second thought.

And Finally the museum for the artefacts that Kamat has collected over the period of years starting from Tabla, deewankhana and many more things used by Jadhav's and Peshwa's.

A must Visit place ever to remember!!!

The overall experience was great. Many activities to do and lots of places to explore. I would recommend visiting it for a day trip only, as the living experience was not as good. In the Maharani Suite(second most expensive) there was no cupboard, no mini-fridge and the bathroom was not very well maintained as the shower was broken and it was not draining well.

A place or rather a palace , a magnanimous palace converted into a luxurious hotel of the KAMAT group ! Wonderfully converted and renovated the place. They have rooms in the palace itself which are up to the mark ! Have 2-3 bamboo cottages which is fun to live in! The best part is they have the best museum inside it with a fabulous guided tour explaining the details of the historical museum ! Have all the amenities with the pool on the roof top ! Have 2 restraunts which are decent ! A bit expensive with WiFi only in the palace and not in the bamboo cottages as they are away from the palace ! Have network issues ! Have vast expanses of green lands which are beautiful ! Amazing scenery !! Must visit !

Giving you a taste of the Maratha culture, a visit...

Giving you a taste of the Maratha culture, a visit to Fort JadhavGadh is no short of a trip back to the bygone era. Set in an actual all-stone fort, this three-star property offers royal services to its patrons.

Having heard so much about this place from family and friends, we were naturally intrigued by the place. So armed with our trusty DSLRs and phones, me and my gang set out to spend a couple of days at this beautiful property.

The hospitality and welcome begins before we even reach the actual fort. The lookout post at the beginning of the road that leads to the fort-hotel has a very authentic looking Mavala ready to welcome us.

Sprawled over 25 acres of manicured landscape, Fort JadhavGadh offers a number of stay options ranging from the king's own maharaja suite to the luxurious royal tents. A truly regal welcome awaits you as soon as you set foot on the cobble-stoned steps of the magnificent Maratha marvel.

Fort JadhavGadh offers a multitude of accommodation choices. Choose your pick from the Maharaja Suite, Maharani Suite, Museum Suite, Chhavni - Royal Tent and Kholi the regular rooms for the regular Joes and Janes.

Our Kholi was beautifully done up the artefacts in the small cubby holes in the walls, the welcome fruit and cookie platter, the decorations on the bed everything screamed hospitality at its best.

The heritage hotel offers a 45-60 min long audio tour of the entire place with pre-recorded snippets of information which you can play as you reach the different spots of interest.

Fort JadhavGadh also houses a museum called Aai meaning mother, which guards the glorious history of the Maratha empire. Each artifact adorning Aai is part of the treasured collection of Mr. Kamat over the last four decades. Unfortunately, photography is prohibited inside the museum however trust me when I say this, that is an experience that *has* to be taken.

Endless landscaped lawns at Fort JadhavGadh merging with the hills add a surreal touch to the evening functions.

The grandiose is only magnified by the 300 year old Ganesh Temple. Also an ideal setting for a traditional wedding ceremony, fit for the royalty.

Tired from all the walking during the audio tour [yeah, I completed the entire tour!! :D] and stuffed from our leisurely lunch, it was pool time for us. A gorgeous temperature-controlled pool in one turret of the fort offers a semi-private experience [away from Peeping Toms] with a spa next door. The beach chairs on the island in the middle offer the much-needed relaxation by the waterside.

Traditionally being a fort in its past glory, security of its inhabitants was a major function of Fort JadhavGadh and to that effect, the main doors used to be ceremoniously closed, locked and loaded every evening and opened the next morning. Even after being converted into a hotel, the management has retained this tradition so every evening, the doors are still closed for a short while with the same pomp and show. The doorman also gives the guests a short yet insightful history of the ceremony.

After thoroughly enjoying the martial arts show, we were treated to another mind-blowing performance; this time a Lavani performance by some really talented ladies at Payatha the ethnic foothill restaurant which also hosted the dinner afterwards.

Fort JadhavGadh has some amazing outdoor activities as well, in which guests can partake. Bullock cart rides, air rifle shooting, etc. are some of the activities to be enjoyed.

Fort JadhavGadh is a one of a kind resort in India that houses a museum, a poolside spa and plenty of other activities for your entertainment and relaxation - making it a perfect weekend getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

In case you don t wish to spend an entire weekend here, Fort JadhavGadh also offers day packages.

Went here for office offsite party. This place is actually a fort converted into heritage hotel. I loved the decor, ambience, activities and service. You will see how much effort has been taken to keep it authentic and yet comfortable and modern. They have multiple activities to offer like trekking, bullock cart ride, indoor and outdoor games, swimming pool, museum and cycling. The food buffet is really nice and has good varieties as well. They serve both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. You can see all the staff is really warm and dressed in ethnic wear to give that authentic touch. The view is good as you can see the mountains and downhill from top.

Nice place to spend time with friends and family.

Nice place to spend time with friends and family.
They have a nice lawn and a nice pool too.
Although the resort seems a little overpriced it would be a nice getaway for a weekend.
The approach road just before the resort is really in bad shape so low floor cars beware!!!

The word 'Fort' in my mind would stand for something majestic. However this place was a dampener for me. It's not bad, please don't get me wrong. They have nice rooms, good restaurants, a lawn, good food, courteous staff. But its a bit far, approach road's shaky, view around is average and not exiting enough for the hype created around it.

Nothing much to speak off... Services and amenities are poor...tenthouse acs doesnt work...nothing to speak of food...and not much options to feel relaxed and enjoy..
Thought it to be spectacular and would be fun to spend overnight ..
Better to go for day outing than stay...
For that much money one can find better options

If you dig a slice of heritage and a piece of history, Fort Jadhavgadh in Pune is one vacation you just can t miss. An impressive heritage property the 18 century fort makes you connect instinctively to its royal legacy and fascinating past. Throw in a scenic drive from Mumbai and the luxuries of today and what you have is a perfect holiday.

A heritage Fort Jadhavgadh located on Pune Sasvad Road

Good for photography

Food - Average as it is inclined to marathi and gujarati cuisine.

Rooms - Centralised AC delux rooms bit noisy and inefficient cooling. Nice dashboard with access to all electric appliances.

Service - Service is good. Staff is very courteous.

Price - Bit overpriced for the quality of rooms and food
