Though there is scope for improvement, I will not hesitate to give full marks for shear.l concept and presentation of Maratha empire. It clearly shows heritage and rich memories of Maratha kingdom. Again as anywhere in Maharashtra rainy season is the best. This is the time when nature talks to you.. excites you .. talks to you...
there are small Trecking destinations around. You can visit Purandar fort as well. This fort is around 15-20 kms from this place.
Many tourists belonged to corporate groups tout it also few families noticed. So safely I can say place is very popular with corporates who wants to give different kind of experience to its employees.

Sir, I haven't visited your hotel yet, but I saw a video of your hotel on Tikotok in which Mavale and some girls in Marathi sarees are welcoming customers ... I personally felt that this was an insult to Mavale and Marathi culture. Sali Marathi Armament was being performed for the reception of Maharaj ... then this practice was given only to anyone after Chhatrapati Maharaj ... It should not be taken as a ringing respect to the Maharaja's bed hotel f ... please welcome the kind of thing to come out of the creators of Marathi culture and governments do not insult .. Chhatrapati Shivaji prayer

HAncient fort turned into a heritage 3 star hotel.Very well maintained.Worth a day visit. They provide an audio tour including a museum for Rs.500 per person.Good venue for destination weddings, conferences, family get togethers etc. Very quiet and cool place perched on a hilltop with a very good view, lush green gardens, lawns and a Lord Ganesha temple.

This Review is for Food / Restaurant Part only:
Had heard a lot about Fort Jadhavgadh Hotel from friends, unfortunately was very much saddened after my visit to this place. It was a weekend visit with family & friends for simple lunch. Though the welcome sounds were great and people greeted us with heartwarming smile, we were very disappointed to see the way our table was unorganized and kept in a shabby state (Had made prior reservation over phone). I am not sure if it was due to the closing time or in general, our good server was in a rush to complete the order (missed what exactly what we ordered). Mistakes are inevitable but when we speak of royalty and charge for luxurious service, we need to keep up to our reputation every time and to every customer.

A lovely place to enjoy with a group of friends or family. It's a whole day's excursion. It takes about an hour or two from pune, depending on where you are. It has a lot of lovely and scenic views. Apart from the hotel stay, there are day trip packages too. For about 1300 to 1600 they include a tour of the 300 yr old fort, with audio clip narrator at various points of interest in the fort along with a small museum. Then there's a fabulous buffet lunch, very tasty and well prepared food. Then there's lots of activities for everyone, kids as well as adults. Right from pottery making, sculpture painting, zip lining, shooting, archery, outdoor sports like cricket, badminton, swimming pool. During the evening session, there's tea and snacks followed by a hosting of party games for everyone. All in all, it's a must see place, totally worth it. Just the one thing the government needs to fix is the roads leading upto the fort :)

I would have given -5 rating if there is a chance. Food is cold like it is taken out of fridge. Worst taste I would have cooked better. Very less number of options. I want money back. I would do so much marketing for everyone to not visit this place especially for food. God knows what's situation with rooms and all

The Payatha restaurant is awful. In the summer heat there is no provision for Cooler at this place and no one can eat their lunch properly.
The quality of the food was bad and above that the cleanliness of plates, spoons and glasses is worst. I have to ask the manger to clean my glasses twice.
The drinking water served to us was lukewarm.
I will suggest not to go for this place by spending Rs. 1400/person. It is waste of money.
Fort Jadhavgad mentioned themselves as 5- star resort but the food/cleanliness of serving utensils, water, seating area comfort is as good as 1-star restaurant.
Staff is also not trained.

My 5-stars for Jadhavgarh are for the overall experience our family had spending a sunny winter Sunday afternoon there. Yes, the final km or so of the path might be a bummer. The lunch spread high on variety, not so much on taste. Even then with the live music, nice breeze, the ambience, etc we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. The highlight for my little son was the guy who could make sounds of many birds and animals.

On the outskirts of Pune. A whole small isolated place is called jadhvgad. There's a beautiful refurbished palace. As we enter, they welcome us by tutari announcement. Then they provide us audio tour of the whole palace. This palace is also having accommodation facilities.. many varieties of rooms. A rooftop swimming pool and a small lake in its premises. They have big ground which is used for sports. Small n beautiful Ganesh temple. And last but not least awesomely tastyy food. Large buffet.. veg+nonveg.. aunthentic+homemade.. all varieties of food. Also they provide small cakes for bday celebration.. perfect for weekend family outing..

Amazing heritage property in Maharashtra. Fort jadhavgadh is now a hotel which gives you a feeling of being at any historical place. It consists of rooms which again gives the same heritage stay feeling. They serve quality food with good taste. It has a swimming pool as well. Jadhavgadh has a museum named "Aai" which has all the antique pieces of culture of people.

Pune has a lot of forts around it, and Fort Jadhavgadh serves as a perfect weekend getaway for a completely different experience. You would have always wondered how the royals used to live in the erstwhile days, now you get to live it!If you're looking for a truly off beat experience near Pune, you must definitely visit Fort Jadhavgadh, here you get to feel and live like a royal.
Location
Fort Jadhavgadh is approximately 30 KMs from Pune, you need to cross the Dive Ghat to get there. The roads are really good and you should have no problems as far as getting there is concerned.
The Fort
The Fort was built by Pilaji Jadhavrao, a general in the army of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj as a home and to keep an eye on incoming enemies into Pune and has now been converted into a heritage hotel. It sits on a hillock, has grand gates and is lush with greenery. There are secret passages and dungeons for you to explore and sits in the lap of mountains should you want to go trekking.
The stay at the fort-
As soon as you enter the fort you're greeted by the Mavalas (soldiers) who'll take your car and luggage. This in itself takes you back in time. As you're approaching the main entrance gate, you're enter to the resounding sound of the Tutari and Dhol , and you already feel like a royal with your grand welcome being announced. You're immediately greeted with a welcome drink and after completing the check in formalities escorted to your room. The rooms are great with all the modern amenities with a touch of history like a stone wall, copper glasses for water, a welcome note written on a leaf, etc . Just small touches to keep that vibe going!! Alternatively, you can stay in a cottage or a tent setup or if you want the full royal experience, the Maharaja and Maharani suites are for you. The staff here is super warm , welcoming and hospitable !!
Activities-
There's a number of activities you can do at the fort to keep you occupied all day!! If you don't plan to stay at the fort, you can easily do a day trip here and enjoy all the activities the fort has to offer.
I started with an audio tour , which took me around the Fort and explored every area and special aspect of it like the dungeons, the secret passageway and the museum!! I'll hold on to the rest of it for you to explore should you visit.
The fort has a Swimming pool called the Kund, with a neem tree in the centre, and the pool is temperature controlled and a treat to sit and relax. There's also a spa adjoining the pool offering traditional , hot stone and thai massages.
On the other hand, if you're the adventurous type, you can go on a trek on the nearby hills and spot rabbits , deers, peacocks , foxes ,etc. Also , they have other activities for you to do like rifle shooting, archery, segway, pottery and ziplining. They have a pond nearby , from which fish can be caught and served right on your table. Also, you can dress up as a royal from the time and get pictures clicked.
Food-
The Fort has two restaurants for all your grub needs , the Payatha and the Chhajja restaurant. The Payatha has a good buffet spread with all cuisines to serve your tastes, but a special focus on the Marathi cuisine to keep with the theme( You have a live counter for Puran Poli guys!! ) . Chhajja has an a-la-carte menu with a nice sit out and a balcony with great views and you can have a nice evening with drinks and snacks in here.
The perfect weekend getaway-
Pune has a lot of forts around it, and Fort Jadhavgadh serves as a perfect weekend getaway for a completely different experience. You would have always wondered how the royals used to live in the erstwhile days, now you get to live it!

Fort Jadhavgadh is a small fort worthy of a day picnic only. It's a private fort converted to hotel with large lawns and spacious rooms. However not worth the money to stay but only good enough for one visit.
Fort Jadhavgadh is situated about 1 hour away from...
Fort Jadhavgadh is situated about 1 hour away from central Pune. It is a 300 year old fort, which has been restored to a top class hotel in 2007. The hotel property consists of tents & cottages outside the fort, while deluxe rooms & the suites are inside the fort. The fort steps are uneven and steep, which makes it ill accessible for toddlers, senior citizens and the physically challenged. They were designed such on purpose to break the march of enemy soldiers.
We had stayed in Deluxe Room 105, which is within the fort. The rooms have small closed windows and are quite spacious. The beds are large and comfortable. The ground floor rooms have no views, but are closer to hotel facilities like the Swimming Pool, Spa and restaurants. Paid wifi is available here.
The Swimming Pool is located at the top of the fort and is the highlight of the property with its surrounding flowering and ancient trees. The Spa is adjacent to the pool and is quite good too. Hotel guests get complimentary audio tour guides and that is highly recommended. Other areas like the lawns & temple are also worth seeing, weather permitting. The museum is also good and covered in the audio tour. Mobile network is patchy throughout the property and good network is available only near the Swimming Pool area.
The only grouse about our stay was the terrible food served in the two restaurants there. We had Ala Carte lunch at Chhajja and Buffet dinner at Payatha. The food both times was quite disappointing. We found the lunch buffet spread at Payatha better than the dinner buffet spread. If the food was any better, we would have loved to stay longer.
Barring the food, Fort Jadhavgadh is an excellent property with good rooms, courteous service and lovely amenities. It is fairly priced and I recommend a day trip or a night stay as it makes for an excellent relaxing destination.
