Bello, curato, gli animali sembrano felici di alloggiare in questa oasi...
A lovely zoo to visit for a really good price. Visited towards the end of November and the park was very quiet which was a brilliant experience. Animals were well looked after and there was plenty to see.
Awesome experience but maybe some pictures with animals?
Nice zoo, not so big as to be awful to walk around in the heat. Has the main animals that a zoo should. Appears they are in good condition and the enclosures seem to indicate they are well treated. If you like a zoo, this is a good one.
Beautiful experience, well kept animals and very well cared for place. Respect Covid measures.
Very nicely done. Especially the crocodile habitat. Beautiful.
Un luogo ideale dove portare i propri figli per una giornata esplorando il mondo degli animali. Se non siete mai stati ed avete figli non potete non andare
Although it is essentially a zoo and can regret seeing animals not in their natural habitat, it is a beautiful experience that makes adults go back to children and likes children. Easily reachable. Good structure. Various and well kept animals. Various activities and educational. Of course in Rome there are many attractions, but if you have time and you have children, it is worth a visit.
loved it! Its definitely not the Bronx or San Diego zoo but well worth a visit and the only zoo i have seen that actually has a guinea pig pen with about 50 critters running around - FUN!
Nice to visit with children. The cost is affordable. The seals and penguins are not to be missed.
A fantastic day, sun and spring temperatures, returning here after more than 30 years with my wife and daughters was beautiful, and it was really worth the cost of the 45 euro tickets ... all very well kept the animals in general in perfect condition, bathrooms clean, baskets, drinking fountains, all very efficient !!! The only negative note the little train, we ask as soon as we arrived how it worked and we had a hasty and annoyed answer from the gentleman inside the cage mah ... we continue the path on foot. On the way back it was 4.15 pm we try again, we go to get tickets and he tells us the little train doesn't start anymore! It just started and it's the last lap! We leave unhappy, because the zoo closed at 17.00 and we wondered how it was possible..after 10 minutes, we see from a nearby bench that other people approach and make him the ticket, then I go back and demand the tickets .. justifies saying that he was not sure that the train was back on time because the tour lasted from 20 to 30 minutes and bla..bla..bla .. oh well no comment. The train leaves and takes us 10 minutes !!!!!!!! It was a beautiful day and I didn't want to ruin it ... but you have to be clearer! Write down the timetables and work from start to finish properly ... because people pay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Logically seeing animals kept in captivity is never beautiful but if you want to spend a day with your children, it's not bad.
Children have fun and in the last few years have fixed it is made more educational.
All animals are kept well.
There are bars, refreshments and shaded squares.
Unfortunately parking is not easy to find.
In my opinion the price is a bit expensive
16 adults and 13 children and children under one meter free.
Lovely zoo. Enclosures were really clean and animal welfare looked good. Great to see species that I've never seen before.
Closest I've so ever seen a tiger, snow leopard and lions.
20 years ago the historic Zoo of Rome left the concept and space for the Bioparco idea. The move had many sponsors political and practical investors with great media attention. Today a lot is remembered and with real bitterness the slovenliness and scarcity of animals is clearly visible. The quarantine and the absence of the public made the animals sad and ....... the pockets of the Bioparco. What will happen? ........ We all have to cheer for this reality ...... from the purchase of the ticket to word of mouth .....
Really enjoyed ourselves here, the zoo is hidden away within a park but an easy walk from the spagna metro station.
Not so many animals as it used to be. Usually one per species. Enclosures are too small for some of the felines species.
They mean well. There's a solid emphasis on combating the illegal animal trade, the information is up to date and there was a solid selection of animals. Unfortunately the realities of the small space available for the park meant cramped quarters for some species.
There is no one on Monday, even if you buy tickets at the door. Feel that the animal is too small, it may eat too little
We went there on the occasion of my son's birthday. It is fantastic for children to be able to see all the animals together but I must say that although the animals are well kept, the spaces are wide to see them locked up is always a great sadness.
Beautiful structure inside Villa Borghese, built in 1908 with interesting architecture starting from the entrance which symbolizes man's dominion over nature (echo of the Goegraphic discoveries of the previous century, such as the discovery of the sources of the Nile). In 1998 the biopark was renovated and enhanced, increasing spaces for animals, creating educational and interactive, recreational and relaxation spaces (such as the pleasant little park next to the pond). Beautiful reptile house!
The place is very nice but removing the discounts (for example for the over 65s on Wednesday) I have not found it a very clever thing especially at this time when the economic difficulties are greater for everyone.
An excellent afternoon spent among the animals. Some areas were under construction and rearranged but I was able to see animals that I had never seen in person, such as crocodiles and fennec.
Highly recommended for a nice informative visit full of curiosity and among other things it makes a nice gesture because the park is in desperate need of funds after the quarantine has kept it closed for what were normally the months of greatest influx.
Visit it, treat yourself to a nice afternoon and help it stay open and rich as it is.
Was not crowded and was a good experience. The animals don't seem too happy though.
Good atmosphere and nice activities like feeding with make it a great spot if you have kids!
This was probably the best zoo iv been to. Everytime I thought we had seen it all there was more to it. Thought the price was very good too
Without praise and without infamy. We brought our three year old daughter who had a lot of fun seeing the many species that can be found inside. It is true that for adults, especially if they have been able to visit other zoos or the like, it is normal. Poor organization
The biopark reopened after the COVID health emergency. the purchase of tickets is allowed only online, unfortunately, however, since the entrance time is not specified on the ticket, a large crowd is created. There are no controls inside, people can move without a mask and no one in the park avoids gatherings in front of the most "popular" animals among children.
Unpleasant experience.
Had credit card theft while paying for tickets. Unbelievable. A zoo stole from us
One of the great attractions of Rome, an ideal place to spend a day in the green with the family. Animals kept very well and in decidedly adequate environments. Reptile and aviary two strengths. Really recommended for everyone.
Beautiful experience that allows you to see some amazing animals very clearly! We got were lucky that almost all of the animals were quite close to the glass.
Overall, definitely worth the trip with kids.
Great park and well cared for. Visit that lasts at least three hours. A large number of animals. The only flaw is that all of the restaurants or food stalls inside, are closed for renovations. Maybe to say before entering at least one obtains outside sandwiches from street vendors.
How to become a child again. Park nestled in the heart of Villa Borghese. The structure is dated but well kept and above all clean. The animals are happy and in excellent condition. Go there
A wonderful zoo to visit. Lots of animals from all over the world. 16 Euro admission.
Nature, lovely animals, huge hippos, old monkeys, sleeping leopards, huge anacondas, beautiful poisonous frogs, different kinds of turtles, soo many different reptiles, I loved the white tiger
The animals are well kept and since I was a little girl, they have finally renovated the Zoo or Bio park, recreating the natural habitat of each species. Finally it is no longer possible to feed the animals and therefore they have special diets that reflect their true nature.
Very nice zoo. Groomed. Large. Huge selection of exotic animals. Although I am against the capture of animals, the enclosures are large. Everything is clean. If zoo, then everyone should be like this.
A zoo where animals can not feel good ...
The pens are really way too small, 2 hippopotamuses (which are animals that live in the water) had 3 sqm of pond for them 2 ...
I do not know enough about zoology to know if this is exactly what they need, but personally I felt uncomfortable for them throughout my visit.
I think this is done so that we can all see them but at the expense of their well-being: /
Only cool moment the house of reptiles (such tiny pen but that's the same everywhere)
Beautiful biopark to visit. Quiet place where you can admire many species of animals. An oasis in the middle of the city. To visit especially with children who will go crazy
Totally worth visiting. A hidden gem for tourists in Rome, especially with young children.
A wide variety of animals from all over the world, I find the train useless, from above you can not see anything, before it made a stop in front of the reptile house now not anymore. It closes early, the most beautiful animals are closed at 5 pm, the others at 6 pm. In half a day you cannot visit it completely calmly.
Good sized zoo for smaller kids as it's not too big.
We were at the biopark with our three-year-old girl in mid-August, inspired by Un sacco bello by Carlo Verdone. We did not find Marisol, nor the desert zoo, on the other hand the animals were all rather lively, well kept and - despite the crowd - we found no one in line at the ticket office, in the bathrooms, in the bar and in the souvenir shop. We even found parking a step away from the entrance. The arrangement of the cages is a bit chaotic, but in general it is a pleasant experience suitable for families
Great place for relaxing amongst animals. Surroundings are nice and prices reasonable. suitable for visitors with or without children.
Great zoo, plenty of animals to see and people selling bubble guns on the entrance. We had a fab time
The zoo is nice, but it seems like there were very few of each animal. Only one lion/tiger, so if they were asleep you don't get too see one at all. Kids under one meter tall get in for free. It was nice that all of the information they had was in both Italian and English.
Immersed in the greenery of Villa Borghese, at the biopark you don't even realize you're in the city. Nice to spend a Sunday with the family and to give free rein to the children.
And then even the monumental entrance alone is worth a visit.
A large variety of animals. Highlights are the white tiger, the penguins and the feeding shows.
Most of the animals seemed exhausted and hot, whilst also seemed bored. They seemed to be no toys for them and were for display purposes only.
Not so big zoo but good alternative when you have enough of marble and statues during your visit to Rome.
Not a big fan of animals held in zoo but the 3 stars go to the park itself that's being maintained well
Good variety of animals from all around the world. Despite the presence of ascents the place is enough shady even for sunny days.
What a wonderful zoo! I came mainly for the Ring-tailed lemurs, and they did not disappoint! Their exhibit was so awesome! I also loved the meerkats with their babies, your hippos, guinea pigs, and the sea lions! Such a wonderful zoo!
Having to present the place as a whole, it absolutely deserves 4 stars, quantity and variety of animals, price and comfort. Even if the structure is old (and in some points it is evident) we see a commitment to improve.
Some animals may be kept slightly better, but overall they are well placed
Then there is a comment on the current period: the masks and the distances are mandatory by regulation, but entering no one respects these rules, the yellow lines are present but never respected, the handfuls on the countless glasses and the people without masks reign sovereign.
The vigilance passes saying "there is a line to be respected" as if it were a broken record ...
Small zoo compared to some, but good selection of animals
Overall a good zoo. Large layout and active animals in the morning.
Nice, very cooperative pinguins, if yo have enough museums and churches go there, 3-4h min you need to visit all
For the mistake of a wrong day put, the 4 instead of the 5, they did not want to change it, their policy does not refund but here it is only a change of day, simply the next one, honestly you pocketed money for free and you do not do it a beautiful figure, congratulations. In addition, the exchange was requested on the day the purchase was made, therefore it was not requested at the last minute. If the reservation had been made for 10 people it would have been really serious, even if it is serious in any case.
As for the Biopark, nothing to say, it's beautiful, but I must say there is no ticket for half a day if you enter late but it's okay ... ok! But 1 euro per ticket for presale and forcing us to buy them online (I think because of the covid) is a bit absurd .... but despite everything it's worth it.
As I visited in December I didn't manage to see much but I can see how in summer the Biopark can be a location worth visiting in Villa Borghese park.
This is a must stop for anyone with kids. Come in the morning and plan on spending the day because their is so much to see!! My boys absolutely loved this place. All it needs is a bus stop. It s quite a walk from the nearest bust stop. If their was one within a kilometer I d give this a 5 star. We walked a ways.
As much as i am against zoos, i can appreciate the layout, greenery and array of animals they have
There is a good array of animals to see here. It seemed like most enclosures were spacious, except for a few for some of the larger cats. Bring a stroller for small kids, seeing everything involves a lot of walking. The signs outside the enclosures were in Italian and English. The zoo seems well-kept, in general (for people and animals). I thought the prices were a little steep though (I believe around 16 Euro for adults and 13 for kids over 1 meter), but double-check the website. Overall, recommended as a whole-day outing. Get there early when most animals are awake and getting fed (you might even score parking if you drive).
Very well organized, a charming place immersed in the splendid bourgeois villa in the heart of Rome. The bio park of Rome has many cash desks to be able to buy the ticket as well as having an on.line booking service to speed up entry for visitors by skipping the queue at the checkouts. Once inside, you are provided with maps with the route to follow along the park's boulevards to see all the animals, or take the train to take a ride in comfort. The bio park also has some refreshment points both outdoors and in the bar, to turn it all it takes at least three hours, also because the sector of the reptile house is located on the other side of the park but I recommend to visit anyway.
The zoo has a lot of green and is big for a city zoo. Most animals have a reasonable big space and the keepers seem to really care well for their animals. Facilities (coffee and snack) in the zoo are somewhat disappointing at times.
Totally ok to visit but nothing spectacular bin to better zoo
Not so many thing to see. So many construction. Tickets are expensive.
Great medium size zoo; good selection of unusual animals, nice layout and well landscaped. We took around three hours for a full visit.
