Park clean and kind to people who care and love animals. Nicely renovated and accessible to see all the animals. I put 3 stars because inside I didn't find a food zone and since the park is big I think it is necessary. Another negative point are some cages ... for example the cheetah was inside a small cage, so dynamic an animal should have more space and so also other animals. For the rest it is very beautiful, counting the fact that the animals inside the park were recovered by people who illegally kept them.

Until a few years ago it was called Zoo, or zoo, now Biopark.
Set all 'inside of Villa Borghese one of the largest green areas of Rome, for decades allows to the Romans, and not only to them, to see and learn about a wide variety' of animals from 5 continents. A beautiful and fascinating White Tiger deserves a special mention. The reptile house and 'definitely worth visiting, well organized and well maintained, and' was recreated a classic equatorial environment, where crocodiles, caimans, boa, pythons, scorpions, tree frogs and several breeds of frogs have found an almost natural habita. Going for walks among the avenues im a spring Sunday with children is really fun and rewarding.

A wonderful experience!

A wonderful experience!
We went with the discounted price to 10 for adults, but in general also the full ticket is cheap.
Highly recommended for adults and children!

Well organized and clean, it is possible to introduce the little ones to the world of animals. Inside there are several refreshment points and areas where to stop, bathrooms and the possibility of visiting the whole park aboard a train. A bit tiring to find parking for the car.

It is an always wonderful park, constantly looking for new content, in a constant updating process in balance between the protection of endangered or poaching species and the need to show to an audience made up especially of children what are the wonders living in nature.
Currently, however, due to a regrettable unassigned call, you will find all the refreshment areas completely closed!

Very pleasant small zoo. Feeding times for the Brown Bears was brilliant. Other animals were fed according to the published schedule. Only saw the lemur one. Commentary was in Italian. Most signage had English sections. Very hot day so lots of lethargic animals. More sense than the Homo sapiens who were trying to see them!

Some great displays, like Komodo dragons, lemurs and the reptile house (rettilario). Rest of the areas are rather small for modern standards and animals do not seem to enjoy them. Totally ok to visit but nothing spectacular.

Nice well cared for. Animals kept in decent condition. Ideal for children and for a walk in the countryside. Very high admission price. It does not include entrance to the museum. However recommended.

Very cool. Plenty of animals to see, with plenty of seating and food/drink outlets to stop and take a break.

Some enclosures for the larger animals are incredibly small though.

Entering the zoo was the hardest part, queuing to get a ticket number to then queue to get an entry ticket to then finally queue to actually enter the zoo. Unnecessarily complicated.

5 stars because this space is a real oasis in the center of the city, because the animals are not closed in a cage but live in sufficient areas and are well kept. I found the whole park very clean as well as the public toilets. All the employees are very kind and you can see that they love working there.
The price is very low for everything you can see.
The only negative is the total lack of dining and entertainment options.
Putting these 2 things in place, in my opinion, would raise the quality even more.

On a bus route. Reasonably priced. Larger than we expected. Enough shade on a hot summer day. My 17 yo and I both enjoyed a leisurely day at the zoo. Just make sure you have round trip bus fare!

The park is large, well kept and has a wide variety of animals. From giraffes, owls, parrots, passing by felines, very nice penguins, seals, bears, zebras etc. There are relaxation areas with a bar and a hot table. There is a play area for children and a small train that makes you go around the park paying 1.50 per person.

Very disappointing experience .. Animals warmed and lethargic the white tiger behind a glass with people crowded very little water in the fences and in the very low aviary cages no control people crowded without masks .. An infinite sadness ... further demonstration of human cruelty ..

Well organized and kept. You can follow the path in which the animals are fed the food with the explanations of the guardians. There is the possibility of following various laboratories with biologists who bring adults and children closer to the most diverse animals and the possibility of feeding the elephant Sofia for the little ones. Among all the buildings, the reptile house stands out, one of the most beautiful in Europe, which reconstructs the habitat of crocodiles and turtles in an artificial forest complete with waterfall and water spray. Also many showcases with boas, anacondas and amphibians. Compared to the previous visits, the Macri was added, the carabinieri museum which deals with environmental issues. The picnic area is very well equipped. For all August, tickets for all discounted at 10 by purchasing them conveniently and in advance online in a bouncy formula.

The evolution of the zoo concept has been optimally interpreted in the Roman Biopark! I find, however, that in the "bio" context it would also be nice to label the beautiful plants that surround the specimens of the animal kingdom.

I noticed the careless vegetation like dirty ponds and with garbage on the ground. In short, a poorly maintained park. Moreover, with only one restaurant with 2 bars too expensive compared to the standards. The animals turned off, too.

Excellent place for children to meet animals. The cages have disappeared leaving room for very beautiful natural settings. The glasses then allow you to almost touch lions, tigers, penguins etc. making the experience very engaging

Good.

My husband and I had an unexpected extra day in Rome and needed to get away from the crowd. Bioparca was perfect for us. The animals look well fed, healthy and interact more than I've seen at other zoo's. The enclosures look well maintained and the property was all together clean. We lived it here.

The Bioparco is located near the center of Rome and can be easily reached by public transport. It is surrounded by greenery. There are many animal species present and apparently all seem to feel good and live in the appropriate spaces. Perhaps only a few big cats seem to suffer from the tight environment. Along the way, near some key points, there are some banquets where experts are available to all but especially to children.

A very nice experience .. a very informative and exciting ride. There really is a huge variety of animals and habitats. There are machines, toilets, fountains and benches scattered throughout the park. We spend an excellent afternoon immersed in nature and among the animals

At 16 per adult, it was a little pricey compared to free zoos in the USA. That said, it was a cute, clean, and easy-to-navigate zoo. Some areas were undergoing renovation as they continue to improve. Midday on a Tuesday, there was almost no crowds possibly due to the hot Roman summer. Some of the animals appeared in distress, possibly due to the heat, smaller enclosures, loneliness, or a byproduct of captivity. The Asian elephant comes to mind in particular. The primates were particularly amusing and rather cheeky. See the photo for one example who happily posed for a picture.

Overall, a decent zoo.

A gem in the city! It was nice to get away from the busy city. The park is well cared for - it's does not compare to the ancient Vienna zoo however is a very pleasant place to spend an afternoon

Afternoon different and enjoyable but I expected more. At a time when the park reopened after the health emergency, it makes no sense to have a part-time with early closing at 17, especially considering the large turnout Saturday. Tickets are not sold x time slot, so it still creates crowd and various gatherings, moreover during the hottest hours the animals are all so lethargic in the afternoon would be better stata.l'ora x visit the park! Moreover unpleasant staff, which already from 16.30 prevented us from approaching certain areas since the park was closing and we would have created discomfort going back and forth (textual words!) In short, they must make you regret the reduced tickets!
