I am An anonymous Student with a made up name for specific purposes.Overall the course was good but my instructor was rude at times.Mr.Daniel Lafferty was not understanding and said sly things that made me feel dumb or lazy. There were lots of misunderstandings and I feel someone such as he shouldn't work with students that are in need of support and guidance.

I have taken 5 FLVS classes in my life and I got great grades in each one. But... also in each one, I have had at least one terrible experience.
1. I had multiple issues while taking my drivers ed class. One is that I needed to hurry up and get my learners permit, so I finished all my assignments except my DBA and Final. I could not get the password for the final without taking the DBA. Because of the rush to get my permit, I finished all the assignments in TWO DAYS. FLVS said I can work at ANY pace I want!!! IT IS A COMPLETE LIE!!! My teacher told me when I wanted to take my DBA, that I had to be in the class FOURTEEN DAYS! I had to wait twelve days before I could get my permit, and I was not even able to do my DBA until three days after the twelve days. The day before I was able to take it, she called my mom saying "Your son will be kicked out of my class for not submitting anything in FOURTEEN DAYS!" There was nothing for me to submit. She also texted at 8:30PM saying that I had to do my DBA THAT DAY to not be kicked out of the class!
Another thing that happened in that class is that she used the F-word during my DBA. RUDE!
2. One day (randomly) my typing teacher called my mom saying I had not done any work in the last week, when I had actually done two weeks worth of material. My mom tried to explain this to him, but he screamed at her saying "the website says he has not done any work in a week, and the website is never wrong!" This was right after my neighbor had yelled at my mom over property lines. My mom was hurt that whole day, and neither my teacher nor my neighbor apologized.
3. The website is always going through random unannounced updates making it very hard for anyone to access classes.
4. All of the teachers get very random, frequent, and unannounced vacations, where no one can get anything graded.
5. No one from FLVS actually reads the reviews they get. They have a code set up that sends automatic messages back to the person who makes the review.
My review better be heard by a real person, because this is outrageous that these things have happened to me, and something NEEDS to be done about it.
Honestly, I don't hate the lessons themselves, I hate the teaches they assign and the rules. I have 2 courses going on right now and they will be my last. I had a 3rd course but it was school assigned so it had a deadline. I started it late cause I had tutoring classes and they only let me submit 1 assignment a day. I never got it finished because I couldn't submit more than once a day so I got an F on it as my final grade. The teachers they assign too are bad. I am doing peer counseling and I hate it so far because of my teacher. I had submitted an assignment once and done everything it told me to but my teacher put an F on it and told me "For extra credit, add this to your assignment" and gave me extra work. Basically my teacher threatened me with an F to do her extra work.Honestly FLVS should be taken down. It's stressful and we students have no say in whether we want to take it or not.
Virtual school is terrible. Everyone I know who takes it hates it.Not even exaggerating. If you were home schooled virtual would make sense. But why do we have to take it if we're going to a public school? Give us a regular class,or the option to choose either virtual or regular.
you are planning to enroll in FLVS? , this is the most stressful school, taking part-time because I have to go to public school, and it's very heavy, sucks having to be checking your FLVS , and the system is useless I 'm really decpcionada , I feel an emptiness because if I stay waste time and lower my grades in other classes, and if I go down my GPA . not really because this is a required order to graduate , this sucks , it's the worst experience you can imagine . BIG MISTAKE * * * * NEVER TAKE FLVS I feel so stressed and my grades in other classes are falling. by FLVS . thanks for nothing , I 'm killing myself that this nightmare ends. Parents please do not cause this stress to your children. right now I'm crying , I can not stand this, and OWNER PLEASE DO NOT GIVE ME AN ASWER, I know you will not do anything to improve things , it's just a simple excuse
Good for getting failed classes out of the way but MAN the stress this gives ya. Thank God it's free. I definitely wouldn't take it if it wasn't. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Horrible, teachers sit on their butts doing nothing yet they get to take days off in holidays. this has ruined my life and made me question if it is worth to be living.
I am taking 2 flvs courses, AP lang and calculus honors, while taking 5 courses in high school. I love flvs school. I feel like I learn more because lets say I get 2 or 3 questions wrong on a test... I can retake the test and understand why I had them incorrect instead of moving on to the next lesson without understanding. My AP lang teacher is great because after ever assignment she comments on how I should improve the assignment and always responds to my questions as soon as she can. I do not recommend taking a math course online unless you have a bad math teacher at your school. Other than that, I definitely recommend it!
Yeah you work at your own pace, but its a stupid way to learn. I cant stand it. I am enrolled in a class on it and want to kill myself every time i get back on it. I believe edgenuity is a far better option. Thank you.
If your child doesn't like to do schoolwork don't force to do FLVS because FLVS is causing havoc in my family.. However if your kid is ready for it I do recommend it I really don't like it but that's me but be careful because it can change your attitude to bad from good. I honestly really don't like it. AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! Like I have regular school to worry about during regular school hours and when I get home I have online school to worry about. When I get home, I like to relax but I cannot do that taking this class, I already have honor roll in school so I do have to keep my grades in school and FLVS and it is very stressful. Learning two different types of math is very stressful and I don't even like math like that, sometimes I do but right now I HATE IT. This can be really detrimental to someone health and I despise it so much..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not free anymore, there is not literally one day where I'm not doing FLVS, I don't even have my Saturdays anymore. It's either because I'm doing an assignment, studying for a test, or a project. I can't wait to be done with this with it forever, then this website can kick rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE THIS SCHOOL WITH A PASSION.
THIS FLVS IS THE HARDEST THING I EVER DID MY I WOULD RATHER EAT A COCKROACH OR STEP ON LEGOS FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE FLVS IS A JOKE AND THEY DON'T TEACH YOU THEY JUST GIVE YOU ASSIGNMENTS AND EXPECT YOU TO TEACH YOUR SELF MY DOG GIVES BETTER EXAMPLES AND IDEAS THEN THEY DO I WISH I CAN DO A NEGATIVE MILLION THEY DON'T KNOW HOW TO GRADE AND WHEN THEY RESPOND THEY JUST SAY THE SAME THING THEY DO TO EVERY ONE JUST SAY IT A DIFFERENT WAY DON'T DO IT I BET I CAN LEARN MORE FROM WATCHING ELMO OR BARNEY. DONT DO IT
This website is complete garbage, its unorganized, slow, and the "Work at your own pace" policy is never enforced. Do not enroll to this sad attempt of a school.
Such amazing teachers, well paced classes, friendly students, and exciting field trips! What's not to love about that? FLVS is such a great virtual school. :)
I used to love FLVS but now its my worst nightmare. I take an extra course on FLVS so instead of taking 3 I take 4. I always have to call in to make sure that they submit a ticket for my course to be submitted because online it won't work. They used to be understanding and almost no wait time to get a hold of them. Over the past 4 days Ive been on hold for a total of 5 hours in order to try and get someone to understand my problem because everyone Ive talked to is clueless and uneducated about the system. I have to wait in a 150 person due to get inadequate help. FLVS you need to educate your employees and fix your customer service because right now you guys are the worst.
My son has started Virtual School this year for his 11th grade and it has been an amazingly great experience. He loves the flexibility and ease of the school setup and the fact that he does not have to deal with the politics that go on in a brick and mortar school setting. His grades have improved and his motivation has dramatically increased. I am so happy that I decided to let him try this option. It was the best decision ever!!!
FLVS. Only given 2 extra stars because of my past. Back in the 4th grade, I had problems with my emotions, and in order to fix these issues so I won't be the target of bullying, me and my mother decided that we should switch to FLVS. It was really fun and good, I don't have to be in a big public area and I was still able to be social with classes. It repeated in the 5th grade. When I entered middle school, things went a lot different. The Tuesday/Thursday classes were removed (Tuesdays/Thursdays classes were one big meeting like Zoom with your teacher and your classmates.) Tuesday/Thursday classes really helped me out, due to having a teacher listen to me and I can learn from other students. I had no classmates, and the only time I was able to talk to teachers were emails and DBAs (Digital Based Assignments; where we talked to our teacher what we did during our module.) I fell behind and didn't finish school until mid-summer because the only person who were actually able to help me was my mom. If FLVS kept the Tuesday/Thursday classes K-12, I feel like this would be such a better school.
My son really likes Florida Virtual School. He is taking two classes over the summer to be ahead when he starts high school, HOPE and honors geometry and he thinks it is absolutely amazing. The teachers are amazing and really nice and always respond whenever he has a question. I would recommend FLVS to anyone who would want to do virtual school. Special thanks goes out to Mrs. Kaufman and Mr. Kapphan for being such amazing teachers!
I guess this is it. My life hurdling towards oblivion, the absence of god. I'm the cause of my own demise. I'm in the 5th grade, I'm 16 years old and I thought I would try flvs.. Talk about a bad idea. The teachers are so cruel.. One told me to drink gasoline. I'm tired of all my teachers telling me to hurdle towards my impending doom. My best friend and I are gonna run away, we plan on moving to vietnam. Me and him have been best friends sense my dad purchased him. He's an inflatable and he's so nice. But he can't chase the darkness out of my heart. He can't wash the corruption from my little boy head. I'm gonna take him out, then myself and be rid of flvs..
If not motivated or do not have time it won't be worth it. The first 2 weeks are the worst but after that it is more at your pace. not bad but not great some teachers don't respond or take to long to. They call every month which is a little to much. It is a great program
I see all the 1 stars and negative comments about FLVS. Everyone is saying, "you don't get to work at your own pace" or "the teachers don't teach you, they expect you to teach yourself." WELL DUH. You go thru the lesson and anything you don't understand, you then contact a teacher and ask for help on the thing you don't understand. And yes they require 3 assignments per week, that's too make sure you're still in focus. Obviously those people either didn't listen to the requirements or they shouldn't be in the program. I have had a lot of time on my hands when I first started on FLVS and I got my work done, my teachers helped me understand everything, I finished classes early. But I soon got a job and yes I got overwhelmed, but I talked to my teachers and they understood and helped me keep focus. If you're a busy person and need to learn physically, then this isn't for you. If you're a person that doesn't get stressed easily, can easily understand things on your own, or has time even for one class, then this is perfect.
While virtual school may not be for everyone, it is for us!
My son has been with FLVS since the beginning of his 6th grade year. He started in FLVS Flex and had a great experience. He passed all of his classes without a problem and all of his teachers were very nice.
This year, for his 7th grade year, we put him in to the regular public school side of FLVS, not the homeschooling side (FLVS Flex.) So far, we could not be happier. He has wonderful teachers again. He has an IEP that I was initially concerned about having him home doing school but for the past 2 years of his schooling, there has not been any issues. Our IEP meeting was held virtually and to be perfectly honest, it was the BEST IEP meeting that we have ever been a part of. Everyone was so nice, caring and patient. And the teachers that were a part of the IEP meeting built up his confidence so much, that I have never seen him happier about school. This is the first year that he has said that he likes school. And that includes going all the way back to kindergarten.
As I said, virtual school may not be for everyone but if you choose to or have to go the route of virtual school for middle school, I HIGHLY recommend FLVS!
Most of the bad review's seem to be pretty biased.FLVS itself isn't super difficult, beside's small-levels of self time management. Most teachers will tell you that using the school email will result in slower response times, so if they are taking days to respond which in its self seems like an extreme exaggeration, then try texting them beforehand.
As for the one person mentioning that a study guide didn't have the exact questions of the test itself...What?Of course it doesn't, it gives you similar questions that the test might have, if DBA's are hard to finish then use the guide that every teacher provides, that give's questions similar to those they will ask, or well just write down the note summary provided after every lesson.
My only dislike is that not all teachers use an online-scheduler, it saves time. The courses themselves, from my experience aren't very difficult, the written exams are more difficult than normal, but take about an hour to finish.
I have both my children in FLVS and it has worked well for us. Communication with staff has never been a problem and when the kids are "falling behind" in their courses due to travelling or my work, I have been able to speak to the teachers and they have always understood and worked with my kids. It's been a great experience!
Virtual School learning should allow manual text books and print outs to prevent time consuming internet shutdown and wait time in between page and subject changes. This would improve student interest and performance. Parents like me would pay for the books. The program would not allow my son into the program for the first two weeks of school. Then the teacher told him he had to complete three weeks of work in one week. This child is in grade K. If a child enters late because of the program itself, they should not be required to cram three weeks of work in one week. Not only that, the internet went down three days during that week. The following week we had a hurricane. An entire two weeks extra was lost because there was no internet. In other words, a total of four weeks of learning was lost. The teacher was told by this program that 6% of work had to be completed per week. And using pace didn't match with the percentages required. The teacher narrowed that to some extent after the hurricane but we had to pull him out as more time was spent worrying and sloppily cramming lessons than learning and it became impossible to catch-up. PLEASE ALLOW YOUR TEACHERS TO BE ABLE TO MAKE PROVISIONS FOR STUDENTS ENERTING LATE AND LET THEM DECIDE IF A STUDENT DOES OR DOES NOT HAVE TO COMPLETE CERTAIN ASSIGNMENTS. AND FOR THE FUTURE OF THE STUDENTS, PLEASE PROVIDE REAL MANUAL BOOKS AND RUNOFFS. The curriculum itself is good. But, since you have hired certified teachers, they should be able to decide what lessons should be taught or deleted based on student prior knowledge and evaluation. Our kids and teachers are not robots. Go easy on both the teachers and the students. Requirements should never be so hard, that pressure from you, put on the teachers, who then in turn push the student, create a serious hate for learning. Thank you for listening. From a former now retired teacher.
Although my teacher is very helpful and punctual, this just isn't the right educational system for most. There are many glitches in the system, such as surveys not working correctly, and there were special characters having issues.
For example, I could be typing "There wasn't a clue". Upon submitting, the text would change, and it would instead display "tH#re wasn&! ^ C$ue". Quite difficult to read. It took a few attempts and rewrites to submit an assignment to get it right.
Another issue for me, and undoubtedly others, is the lack of variety in teaching styles. The course I am taking(French 1) is simply information being drilled into my head. My instructor added his own attempts at culture into the mix, and although I greatly appreciated the change in style, the majority of information was given throughout the same "teaching style" that I have been struggling to log back onto.
There's no doubt in my mind that I'm going to get a reply from FLVS telling me to submit a review on another site, but I doubt that will be helpful to anyone here. If you see the current 2.4. rating, why bother to use this site? The kids aren't enjoying this site, and I doubt other adults are, either.
So in the end, let's put our heads together. Nobody seems to appreciate this, except the occasional two or three in one hundred. it's obvious that we need something better. How about a site that can be used worldwide, inspiring people to learn at their own pace(not just five assignments a week) and let us interact with other people? Nobody wants to be stuck in an office room while their family has fun on the other side of the door. Why not something that they can do with other people aside from their instructor? My family has constantly been interested in what I've learned, and if "maybe we can sit inside and learn a little bit here and there with you?"
I let them into the room, and when they spent less than seven minutes in there, it showed the value of the site. Their cries of disgust included, "how can anybody learn like this?!" as well as "This thing is garbage! Where's the fun in it?!" That came from two adults, one of which had already taken these courses. That hatred has passed onto me, and inspired this.
Take this from someone who's currently taking this. If you're given the option to take this school, for the love of all that is good, DO NOT. Unless you like unneeded stress, Excessive work, the contemplation of your own suicide, and a boatload of lies, then do not take this course. I'm taking these classes because my school Taveres High, ran out of classes. (Don't take them either.) and I had no other choice, I suffer from work anxiety and slight depression so this would have seemed like a bad choice right? Well at the time, they had no idea what it would be like, and it was too late for me to turn back anyways. If I knew I would have been over cumbered with piles of work on an interface that makes the space jam website from the 90's look innovative, I would have turned away instantly. I'm expecting a FLVS attendant to say "Oh well its not high school" "Oh its suposed to be harder." "Oh we're soooooo sorry to hear about that" Well, let me ask you this, if most teenagers suffer from the same anxiety, already have piles of work to do, and already are thinking of killing themselves due to stress, then what makes you think you should make it harder on them? To everyone else, Avoid this at all costs, would rate lower if possible.
it is one of the most annoying, frustrating, exhausting, and drawn out experiences of my life and would do anything never to do it again. Please for the sake of your sanity never take an online class with flvs.
I as a student Like and hate this program While it is easier to do work Its harder to learn most classes are READ THIS AND DO THESE QUESTIONS HURR HURR
Summary: stressful, unorganized, rude teachers. Before I start, this may sound like some whiney teenager that can't and is too lazy to do assignents, but this is the worst website I have ever used. I dropped out of high school in 10th grade and started with FLVS and I thought, "oh work at my own pace? Okay sounds great because I'ms o busy with work and taking care of my mum." Nope, I was wrong, so, so wrong. If you don't turn in 4 assigments each week, they threatene to kick you out. The teachers constantly forget about DBA's then blame the students, my teacher right now currently is utterly ridiculous, she tells me I need to keep working but won't let me move onto the next module BUT she forgets to do DBA's with me. I keep trying to do her stupid VDBA's with her but they don't work on ANY of the computers in my house. This is a ridiculous wesbite and I can't even move onto another module and my teacher is losing it on me to keep doing more assignments but it's very difficult to do so when I have 8 hours of regular school, work after school, and chores. Plus, I'm in my senior year so I'm on a time crunch, the first quarter of the year is almost over and if my class is still this ridiculous by the end of the school year, I may not be able to walk and I will be the only failure in my family, so thanks FLVS for being so GRAND and AMAZING to keep me even more behind in my school work.
i wanted to do homeschool so bad.... but after reading the reviews i am changing my mind. 50% of the reviews say that the teachers don't answer the other 50% are students saying they can't work on their on path , some reviews are saying that they are overwhelmed with all the work, some are even saying their course just gets locked for no reason! If someone can reply and tell me what to do
FLVS is amazing. It's so stress free, and easy at the same time. It might be easy, but I also learn a lot from it and find it way more enjoyable than public schooling. You have to submit 3 assignments a week for each class, but you can do the assigments whenever you want as long as they're done in a week. It only takes me 1-2 hours a day to complete 3 assignments for one class, and I usually have Fridays off. I love FLVS and I highly recommend it. Communication between teachers is somewhat fast. It takes about a day at most to get a text back.
i really dont feel motivated to try my best in this school poor teachers just meh the whole thing wouldnt recommend it especially for high school students ESPECIALLY u cant get a online gf
do not make the mistake of enrolling yourself or anyone else to flvs its set up to mimic normal school, when it should be set up to work on the computer. they say that flvs is made for people who dont have alot of time on their hands, and that you can "work at your own pace" but none of that is true, and dont even bother writing another bad review, if you write something that says anything other than "i just love it" they give you some canned response like; We're so sorry to hear you haven't had a positive experience with FLVS. Please feel free to reach out to us if you feel there is anything we can help improve about these courses.
"Go at your own pace." Yeah right! "You have thanksgiving break off." I got six calls saying i needed to do two live lessons on Thanksgiving, or i would fail out of the course, I have an A!!!
This website is terrible. Whether or not you get a good teacher is completely up to luck. The way a lot of material is written is not easy to understand; it's all very wordy and just not put into simple terms that are easy to grasp. This makes it very difficult to focus or fully learn the material. Some classes have easy but thorough assignments and some classes have extremely time-consuming and tedious assignments that require a huge amount of time and energy but don't actually teach you that much. I hate this website. I wish I hand never used it, but I had no other option.
I absolutely adore FLVS. I left public school to do FLVS due to anxiety issues and it was the best choice I've made. I started it in 8th grade and have had the best teachers. Klingbeil for pre-algebra and Fruge for U.S History always make me feel valid and are always very welcoming in answering any questions I have. A lot of people on here say it's hard to stay on pace, but as long as you are submitting weekly you will be fine. Also, if you're having difficulties with a teacher and would like to get reassigned, I'm sure you can contact FLVS and find out. I started FLVS 2 months later than public school, and I ended up getting off track due to personal issues but I got back on track during this summer and only have about 20-25 assignments left in my courses. My teachers were very understanding about the time I wasn't able to submit much and are always such a great help. After summer, I will be in 9th grade and plan on doing FLVS the rest of my high school years. I also love the variety of electives, I'm also taking psychology and I'm very excited about that. Thank you, FLVS, for allowing me to still follow my dreams, just without public school and the mess that comes with it.
My daughter is 17 and she's struggled with school, mainly math her entire life. She attended a middle school in Lake County where she was held back in 7th grade 3 times due to the math FCAT testing. She's in 8th grade now doing FLVS and I've seen much improvement, but she wants to go back to public school. I contacted school board and asked them if she could even go back being 17 in the 8th grade and they said she'd only be able to attend boarding school. Is this true? Are there any other options? If so, please help.
terrible my teacher can take a 4 week break without telling anyone but i text him stating ill be gone with family for 5 days and he kicks me out of class for "not submitting assignments" after i tell him ill be in a place with no internet. my friends teacher forces him to use discord to call and his teacher trows temper tantrums if he does bad and calls him a cheater if he does good. his teacher hangs up in calls and mine is downright disrespectful..
parents do you and your child a favor and find a different curriculum. i just started and have learned nothing while my friend just finished Spanish 2 and knows barely anything. this whole website is a scam. these teachers supposedly make around 50k and still cant properly care for their students
They legit stressed my whole family out with this useless course. FLVS sucks. They asked too many personal questions that made me feel uncomfortable, and the lessons and readings don't really help with assignments. There is no such thing as pacing yourself in FLVS ALMOST EVERYDAY I GET A MESSAGE SAYING I'M MISSING SOMETHING. Also talking to my teacher isn't going to change anything. I cannot wait for them to reply saying"We are very sorry to hear that, we thank you for your time" FLVS PLEASE TAKE A CHILL PILL . I would not recommend this to anyone. I feel like the teachers don't even know what they are teaching I feel like they have video tutorials and answers to everything just to give it to you if you get something wrong. You don't actually learn anything. The teacher is chill but always reminds me what I need to know like I haven't noticed.
Florida Virtual School is great for some people, for others it's a struggle. All I will say is you just can't be lazy and not do your work and expect to do great.
My daughter was kicked out of her Montessori Charter School (May2016) in Sarasota Co because she has Epilepsy after attending the school for 10 years. We signed on to FLVS hoping it would help our family as the district would not follow her Doctor's order for Homebound. She has been dropped from more than 10 classes though FLVS because of the "welcome call" that many educators fail to complete or that she can not complete a minimum of weekly assignments. She has a 504 and an IEP but no one does what they say. I hear "we understand" from everyone at FLVS, but those are lies. This "system" of FLVS does not work, once again are fighting to educate our daughter. Florida is so screwed up when it comes to education. Just wait til none of the young people want to stay in Florida and no one is here to take care of the old people or rude tourists. Would NOT recommend FLVS or moving to Florida, your children will suffer.
It was pretty good about 3 years ago with only a few problems, but now this has just become an incredibly repetitive uneducational waste of time. Only do this if you really need to and are willing to sacrifice hours of your life without learning anything.
The courses dont teach you anything, and it is very hard to navigate through the website. External links don't work, although if help was provided definetley would give this a good rating. fart;
I was removed from my class because the teacher never called me and then dropped me from his class. To be reinstated you must submit a help report after waiting to receive a special account to be able to access the place to send a report. I am "not authorized" to send a help report and when I called and asked for a reason I was told it was a problem on my end and was abruptly hung up on. This is a horrible establishment that prides themselves in their lackluster learning environment. The teachers send a copy and pasted message whenever you turn in something or ask a question you receive the same message every time. This is a horrible excuse for a learning establishment. And now we wait for a response that says nothing more than "Oh no, Were sorry".
This website is confusing and you are thrown into the courses with no guidance whatsoever. You receive no warnings before being kicked out of classes.
I honestly suspect a few of the the 5 star reviews are faked by FLVS to balance out the consistent 1 star reviews the actual students give it. look closely and decide for yourself, but this is a 1 star website.
It is great if you are selfdirected already in a subject and do well in the subject. Then it is easy to get the credit and the subject material is set out in an interesting manner. But if you struggle in a subject like, let's say math, you are on your own. The teachers do not teach really, they grade papers and give oral tests. You have to teach yourself or have parents hire a tutor if you're struggling. sad but true but if you are good in all subjects I would recommend it. But if you really need a teacher to teach, go elsewhere!!!!
I am quite pleased with my experience at FLVS. The teachers are always there if you need them and I am able to work ahead if I am capable. I came from a public school and I felt like they didn't really care about my success, so I decided to try FLVS. I was so happy with the support FLVS gave me and I never went back to my zoned school! Thank you FLVS!
i think flvs is a horrible site and dose not work. it should be shut down for ever and should never be rebooted. It is also ruining kids lives. I also belive that the creator of flvs should drink bleach and rot in hell.
I am in 8th grade and this is my first year on FLVS and well...I HATED IT! For starters when I get activated into my classes all my teachers sent me the same exact e-mail, even when I get activated into the second semester. Then in my photography class my sister and I use the same camera to take pictures, and we accidentally used the same photograph, and when the teacher called she talked to us like we had just cheated on the SATs and that we had deliberately used the same photograph. When I call my language Arts teacher for DBAs she tries way to hard to be nice and my last DBA with her went for 20 minutes. Finally when I call my Math teacher it sounds like she is so miserable and would rather be anywhere else but there, that really makes me feel wanted in that class. Not to mention that the program sucks. I feel like most of the assignments are just busy work and have no meaning at all except to take up time. So after the horrendous experience with FLVS this year, there is no way in hell I will use it for high school and am enrolling back into a traditional school next year..And if I could add, every class, including language arts has typos in the lessons, which really makes me feel cheap and aggravates me beyond belief when I get points taken off for some minor grammar mistakes when even the freaking tests have typos! I've also looked at other schools and school districts and FLVS is the lowest rated one by far. I hate FLVS and would never recommend it too anyone and would give it 0 stars if I could. Don't even bother responding owner, because nothing will make this god awful year of education any worse.
